Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.

He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.

He is a recipient the Tezuka Award for manga.

¿Cómo hacer una pelea que se trate de dos personas jugando al piedra, papel o tijera, que dure unas cien páginas, y que resulte divertidísima y ágil? Pregúntenle a Araki, que en este tomo lo consigue a la perfección. A eso hay que sumarle los dos capítulos de "la nueva cara de Kira Yoshikage", en los que deconstruye y reconstruye al villano (literal y metafóricamente) logrando que resulte tétrico por donde se lo vea. Y cierra el tomo el comienzo de la saga "Soy un extraterrestre", que hasta ahora muy en serio no parece pero resulta igual de entretenida y bizarra que todo lo que viene siendo la Parte 4 hasta ahora.

Nuevamente maratoneando la parte 3 de Jojos.

Por el momento la historia va a un rumbo que parece normal, chicos viviendo cosas de jovenes, por lo tanto todo de mantiene tranquilo.

Josuke me parece muy buen Jojo, y el personaje de Jotaro me parece mejor como un secundario o alguien de apoyo como protagonista. Koichi me parece un buen personaje, incluso me siento en momentos identificado con varios de los personajes.

Okuyasu me parece un poco diferente al inicio cuando se nos presentó, pero es un buen personaje.

El trasfondo de Reimi y Akira me parece un añadido un poco a la fuerza, pero me parece una buena trama.

I can't believe how many chapters had been wasted over the Janken boy! The alien guy was a bit interesting but I have to admit that the story of Shinobu and Hayato is what gave this weak volume some depth.

Man, I have such a hard time figuring out what I think about Kira's new "wife". I do feel bad for her, being trapped in a loveless marriage and having a son she didn't plan for. But I also blame her for bringing that kid into the world. He didn't ask to be born. And I'm not sure what to take away from the fact that she didn't truly feel for her husband until he was replaced by a serial killer. Is it a condemnation of her? She irresponsibly pursued a dead end relationship and ended up having a child who was then forced to live with parents that didn't love each other. Is the story saying "of course such a person could only love a killer"? Or is she a victim, trapped by circumstances and ambivalence. And the only excitement that enters her life is also the same thing that threatens it? Maybe it's both?

Oh yeah, and then there's Kira. This guy is so chilling. He feels like a monster in the skin of a human. Which is true in a way, given that he has stolen this dude's appearance. The chapters featuring him have been good in building suspense for his cover being blown. There are some psychological thrills going on here that remind me of Death Note. Watching Kira navigate tricky situations while Rohan is slowly tracking him down is exciting stuff. And you end up rooting for Kira not to get caught, because whoever finds out his secret is going to be killed.

The story with the RPS kid is something I'm torn on. It doesn't feel right for these characters to waste time dealing with such a minor issue when they know Kira is waiting to strike. I try to turn my blinders on so I can enjoy the individual mini-arcs more. But it does bother me no matter how hard I try.

Putting the issue aside, RPS kid is pretty fun. I've grown to like Rohan quite a bit. He'll do the right thing when the chips are down, but he's also a total prick. The scenes with him trying to brush off this kid are pretty funny. And when things get serious, I can't help but be impressed with how grandiose the depiction of 2 people playing rock paper scissors gets.
