Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.

He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.

He is a recipient the Tezuka Award for manga.

Is Battle Tendency isn't my favourite arc in the manga, then Diamond is Unbreakable is. Sometimes I keep switching the two around in my head, depending on the mood at a time.

It's definitely better than Stardust, at least. The Stands keep getting weirder and more imaginitive, the main character is nicer and more personable than Jotaro, his own Stand is powerful but has more to it than raw strength, the supporting cast is great, and there are aliens. The fights are great too: they utilize some of those clever Stands, sure, but they also bring in a lot more of the non-powers-related cunning out of Joseph... oh, poor Joseph, have you fallen low but you're still awesome.

Utilizar un último soplo de aire fresco al final del volumen es una jugada muy, pero muy arriesgada, porque te puedes caer muy fuerte o irte por lo más alto. Sinceramente, no tengo tantas expectativas, porque como dije en la reseña anterior pensaba que se iban a ir a los combos, y así fue en este volumen. De ser así, ¿qué carta bajo la manga sacará nuestro querido Araki para resolver este embole? Lo veremos en el próximo volumen…

Me siento engañado, para bien. Estaba seguro de que en este tomo ya derrotaban al big bad y el tomo siguiente ya arrancaba con un epílogo o directamente con la Part 5, pero por lo que veo todavía falta -mínimo- una vuelta de tuerca más. Bien por el turro de Araki.
Eso sí, la pelea definitiva entre protagonista y antagonista me resultó demasiado confusa, así que más temprano que tarde va a necesitar una releída.

Just outstanding. Absolute banger from beginning to end, not a single miss about it. Characters are great, the story is great, the art is great. There’s an arc where an alien boy turns into dice to rig some bets for Josuke. It rules. There’s an arc where Josuke and Okuyasu eat some good ass italian food. The Bites The Dust arc is maybe the best thing this series will ever produce. Do not sleep on part 4.

Finalmente el ultimo tomo me hizo regresar un poco a la monotonía que nos tiene acostumbrado todo.

A pesar de que siento que todo fue realizado muy rápido y casi sacado.

Puedo completar la historia sintiéndome satisfecho.

Salgo con que Josuke es un buen personaje, Jotaro es bueno de apoyo, Rohan, Koichi y Okuyasu me gustaron mucho, y Joseph como esa figura mayor me pareció bastante tierno.

yeah. this shit is SO GOOD. all of the emotions of the battle and just the brotherly and best friend bond between josuke and okuyasu UGH. it hits me everytime. kira is so smart and josuke is so smart so it is great both seeing them fight with their stands while also trying to out whit each other. what a great way for this conclusion to come to and i loved every part of it. JOSUKE. I LOVE YOU. MWAH MWAH MWAH. morioh sure is cute bizarre huh....

Basically the whole story has ended except for tying the loose ends. However, somehow although I really loved this volume, I felt disappointed when Josuke was not the one who finished Kira off! I don't know why!

The battle between Josuke and Kira is worth all the buildup. It's this clever chess game of interacting abilities and misinformation. The way it plays out is incredibly creative, yet straightforward and understandable. It's easy to take for granted just how out there the whole thing is because of just how smoothly the logic of the battle works. After part 3 was chock full of drawn out scraps, it's fitting that the same isn't really true for part 4 until Kira gets involved.

In the end, Kira wanted to live a simple life at the expense of everyone else. If you were to ask him, Kira would probably tell you that he is a mild mannered man who wants to life a calm life where he keeps to himself and disturbs no one. The truth is that he is an intensely selfish man who gets his kicks at the cost of others' lives.

And he is ultimately defeated by a team of friends who selflessly fight for the sake of their community. Josuke, Hayato, and Okuyasu won because at every turn, they made the selfless decisions. When Kira's back is against the wall and he tries to activate Bites the Dust, he is stopped by the combined efforts of the team. His selfish, individualistic attitudes leave him helpless in the face of a united team. They may not all get along. In fact, I'm pretty sure Rohan hates Josuke. But when the chips are down, they will do what it takes to protect Morioh. And no matter how lucky he gets or how clever his plans are, Kira selfish individualism will never beat the power of a selfless collective.

A couple of loose ends. Koichi's arc ends with him helping to save the day and earning the sincere admiration of Josuke. Considering where he started, this is a hell of a trajectory. I'm not sure what to make of Kira ultimately dying from an accident. I guess it's more of a practical thing than it is symbolic. The truth is someone with powers like Kira lurking around in a jail somewhere would not be a satisfying conclusion. With Bites the Dust on his side, he could easily undo everything the heroes accomplished. The only way out of this would be for him to randomly lose his stand, which wouldn't make sense. Or he had to die. But having one of the lads kill him also wouldn't sit right with the tone and characterization leading up to this point. So he had to get killed in an accident. After a month or so of thinking on it, that's the only answer I could come up with. I'm sure there's some interpretation out there, but all I could come up with was a practical one. Maybe it's fitting that a self-proclaimed mundane guy would end up being killed in such a mundane way.

Lastly, the ending is one of the most satisfying and poignant things I've seen. The anime takes it up to 11 with added scenes for every character and an amazing cover of the intro theme. 10/10 stuff. Diamond is Unbreakable is a masterpiece.

before I read this arc, most of the reviews said that it is the worst arc of the Jojo's bizarre adventure. yeah, maybe it doesn't have the same atmosphere but I actually enjoyed it. unlike the previous arcs nobody from the main characters died but I think that the author was adjusting to the idea of Stands and couldn't afford to kill a character that it's power might be needed later.
I, honestly enjoyed this arc it was fun and creepy at the same time XD
