Wasuan Wells has two loves--one is his beautiful girl of two years, Enychi Carter, and the other is his love for dice. Rollin' dice is an everyday hustle for Wasuan, and he's one of the best the hood has ever seen. No one can defeat him. That is, until he stumbles across a dude from the same hood named Tone who has just as much confidence, a little too much mouth, lots of cash to back it up, and a strong desire for Wasuan's girl. When Wasuan is challenged and the stakes grow high, he finds himself caught out in deeper waters than he can swim in, with Tone dangling three pay up, take your last breath, or sacrifice something much greater...his girl, Enychi. But when Enychi agrees to spend one night with Tone in order to save her man's life, she finds herself caught up in an unwilling love triangle like the streets have never known. Love, betrayal, lies, sex and money are just the beginning in this scandalous tale, where loyalties are put to the ultimate test.In this new novel, T. N. Baker takes the term "sheisty" to a whole new level.
I understand in the black community in general a popular past time is gambling or playing cards. This book provides a good example of what can happen in a certain type of setting, for people living a certain type of lifestyle, when the man (who is supposed to be the protector and the head) cannot hold back a little.
As I was reading this book I just pictured myself watching a series like “Empire” or “Power” even though I have yet to watch those series. This story has potential to be on the big screen. So good.
I think this book was good .., I seen this book on amaZon a longggg time ago and just recently decided to get it . Wassun can teach a gambler a lesson .. He ended up gambling away amount of Money that he didn't have .. (80 grand) So he put his girl (enchyni) up for bait which was where he had messed up .. I have respect for his girl because she was doing it for him .. And I lost respect for wassun because it's like after it happened he lost respect for her .. Even tho he put her in the predicament for it to happen . When she went out with tone everything started changing between wassun and enchyni.. To where she ended up leaving him and going with tone. Even tho she was shiesty to still be fucking with tone while still with wassun... When she got with tone things got even more complicated . He was married and had kids . His babymoma was crazy , But I can honesty tell you that tone helped enchyni with a lot . She ended up opening her own shop and all that . She graduated and did good for herself I can honestly say that .. Wassun finally had enough of tone and his bullying ways and he killed him ,.. After all the bullshit that wassun and enchyni went thru they were still in love .. Wassun ended up having to serve time and they STILL made it out .. Which shows that a relationship can last thru whatever you want it to last thru ... I loved it . Kind of rocky .. But l loved this book !
This book is about a man named Wasuan and he is addicted to dice witch is gambling he was so good he could never get beat WELL so he thought. Wasuan played a guy named Tone and of course Wasuan thought he was going to win so he kept on adding money to the game that he did not have. So he lost the game and oh boy was he mad but Tone was excited he just won 40 thousand dollars in a dice game. Wasuan told Tone ill pay you next week when i have the money i only have half so Tone took out his gun and said i want my money and i want it now or i get to have sex with your girl friend so he made a deal for a one time thing well Enychi said yes but after the one time thing they kept seeing each other and they were having an affair. I love this book this book is one of my favorite all time books i read it over and over and over again its hard to put it down i liked it because i find out how people deal with their addictions and what it means to be addicted to dice and how it ruins your life and that people kill over their money and they take that game very seriously.
I loved this read! Wasuan had to face the fact he had a serious issue after doing the unthinkable when it came to his girl Enychi. Wasuan's love for a good game of dice clouded his judgement and he got played by Tone in the process. Enychi was complacent in her relationship with Wasuan and felt like she was proving her love when her help was requested. Allowing pride to get the best of him, Wasuan let things go a bit overboard when he was the one to blame for how things happened in his relationship. I never liked Tone even though he treated Enychi good in the beginning. After Tone's secrets were put in the open things eventually changed. Natalie was straight up crazy! The constant things she dealt with from Tone only proved he really didn't care and he told way too many lies. It seemed as if one thing after another was happening to or around Enychi. From dealing with jumping out of one situation into another, a crazy chick set out to make her life miserable, a not so sane lover, and then the realization that she needed to move on. Wasuan truly had a moment where he took gambling with his life too far. Tavia was wrong how she played things and should've gotten more than she did. It took a while but Wasuan got the chance to reflect on the things he'd done and seek forgiveness. Loved the ending and how things fell in place for Wasuan and Enychi after every obstacle they'd faced.
Dice is a pretty good book- it's one of those books that if you read without thinking about it you'll miss the underlying points. I liked the ending halfway- it was a little too much of a happy ending for me but I did like the way Wasaun's thinking changed in the end and how he went over so much that had happened to him and really looked into why things turned out the way they had. The little "surprising" twist at the end pissed me off more than anything. From the second Wasaun walked in there and saw Nardo it was obvious what that was about. I can appreciate what Baker was trying to do there and I'll be the first to admit I don't know how it could be done better but at the same time it was just soooo obvious. The main story was pretty damn cool though- definitely different and written well also. I can't wait to read another by her soon.
What I like about this book is that it describes how boy's life is today. Now a days boys go through alot in their life and in this book it shows one. This book is about a young boy who has a girl that has dreams and he wants to support her in every way possible. He takes her to bigger and better things and buys her the finer things in life. His number one problem is gambling. He got hisself into a situation that he cannot get out of unless he invovles the one thing that will kill him the most, his girlfriend. He made a bet that he knew from the beginning he couldnt live up to and now its his life or to degrade his girl. Just know he learned a vaulable lesson throughout this little part in life.
WASUAN WELLS HAS TWO LOVERS ONE HIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL ENYCHI CARTER & DICE. HE DOES THE ULTIMATE BETRAYAL. HE ASK HIS GIRL TO SLEEP WITH THE ENEMY HIS NAME IS TONE.
I really enjoyed traveling alone the journey with Wausaan in becoming a real man. He lost a lot before he learned and valued the true meaning of being a man. This is a pager turn that will have you turning pages well after the story has ended. If you are an avid reader, you won't be disappointed...
WASUAN FINDS OUT THE HARD WAY THAT YOU CAN'T GAMBLE ON LOVE AND EXPECT TO WIN IN THE PROCESS. THEY WENT THROUGH HELL.
WILL WASUAN FIND OUT IF LOVE CAN CONQUER ALL?
THIS IS A VERY GOOD READ! T.N BAKER, WHAT'S THAT 3 OUT OF THREE? KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. CAN'T WAIT TO READ WHAT NEXT FROM YOU.
This book was about making some hard decisions and dealing with the consequences of it in the long run. Wasuan loses a dice game to Pretty Tone and has to pay him $80K.Wasuan doesn't have that kind of money so Tone decides to give him a choice;either die or to hand over his girlfriend to him for one night.mmmm decisions..decisions.All in all this was a cool book. It had a good ending. I just feel like the author could've done more with the story.I'm a little disappointed because I was expected to be blown away like I was with Sheisty.
I first read some of this book in the anthrology Cream and later it was turned into a full book, Okay I didn't like it. Not because it wasn't well written but because I just didn't like the plot or storyline but that's just my opinion
The way it was written got on my nerves at times, but I ended up getting really into the story. I found myself punching air and audibly gasping more than once😂
Wassaun is stupid for betting that much money knowing he didn't have it in the first place. Yet alone give Enchyi to Tone for his debt he cause. Tone was full of his self thinking he owned Enchyi because of the stuff he did for her and expect her to deal with his wife, kids and other crap. I was shock Wassuan killed Tone that way but Tone pushed him too no return. I couldn't believe the whole time Wassaun was locked up with his dad killer the whole time. The book was a great read!
