Dax is probably one of the last Zetithian males to not have a mate. This is only because Dax has his eyes on Ava. Funny though as Ava does not seem to be interested in Dax. Zetithian males have the ability to make any woman fall for them that is except for Ava.
When Ava hitches a ride on Dax’s ship, Dax may finally have his opportunity to win Ava over. Unfortunately for Dax, Ava is heading back to an old boyfriend. Dax has until they land to try and convince Ava that he is the man for her.
Virgin is the latest book in Cheryl Brook’s the Cat Star Chronicles series. I just love every one of these books. I just devour them. Virgin is the cat’s meow! It is purrrfect. It was refreshing to find a woman who did not instantly succumb to the Zetithian male’s charms and aroma. Dax was a surprise. To find a Zetithian male that was more a virgin than the woman he was pursuing. This actually helped as I could picture Dax and Ava making a good couple together. Another surprise was Kot. Kot is a robot that is on Dax’s ship. Kot has a mind of its own. The outfits that Kot would choose for Ava was funny. It was like Kot was helping Ava and Dax get together. I can not wait to pounce on the next book in this series.
The Virgin is a sexy and adventurous romp through the galaxy. What fun!
The Virgin made me laugh. A lot! It has it’s serious moments and lots of kick ass and take no prisoners moments, too, but I love the sense of humor displayed by the characters. Cheryl Brooks has such a well-developed sense of humor and the skill to write it well. Loved the innuendoes and word plays.
I’ve read several books in Cat Star Chronicles series. Cheryl writes entertaining, well thought out, plots and her world is complete and realistic. What draws me time and again to Cheryl’s books is the fact she creates, not only memorable main characters, but an amazing cast of secondary characters. These characters add dimension and layers to her stories.
The Virgin is one of my favorites of Ms. Brooks Cat Star Chronicles. In part, I think it’s because Zetithians are reputed through out the stars as phenomenal lovers and here you have one that’s a virgin and the spirited heroine isn’t. I couldn’t help but laugh over the fumbling and funny attempts on Dax’s part to woo Ava (no worries, he does figure it out and very, very well). I loved the dynamics between Dax and Ava and how these two skillfully brings together a rather ragtag band of aliens into a cohesive group to protect Ava and fight off the bad guys. Waroun is Dax’s first officer and funny as hell but he is also very heroic.
There is a strong thread of mystery/suspense in the story set around Ava. She’s being hunted but for what purpose? Who are the good guys? And what’s the deal with the stone in her necklace? Cheryl feeds us a strand at a time and just enough to increase the tension and danger. The final battle is satisfying and loved the kick-ass aspects of it.
This story has it all, romance, humor, suspense, danger, battles, and hot sex. Definitely a must read this summer.
Virgin blew me away with its entertaining story line, exciting possibilities and more purr-fectly charming Zetithians for fans to swoon over. Ms. Brooks might have heard me squealing in delight when I found out that Virgin is a continuation of the series that I fell in love with. I’m pretty sure I was that loud in my excitement. This is most definitely a standalone read because it picks up with one of the survivors of that ship at the end of Hero. I met a lot of new and fascinating characters and I commend the author and her creative talents.
What am I referring to? Every time the author introduces a new character, he or she appears so naturally and provides ample opportunities for the hero and heroine through their interactions with them to grow, and for the plot to move forward. Another thing with Ms. Brooks’ writing is her sense of humor. If her characters can pull off a joke or pun or have dialogue scenes with witticisms that make a reader roll on the floor, the author finds every one of them and uses them to perfection. In this latest book, her sense of fun and the ridiculous is as sharp as ever. All someone has to do is mention Ms. Brooks’ name and I break out into a grin.
When the book starts, a reader meets the heroine, Ava, first. I got the biggest kick out of her but don’t let her anywhere near your frying pans. She’s a woman with smokin’ hot passions and I’m not talking about her cooking. She’s courageous, clever, quick on her feet and even more alien than the past heroines in the series. I am in love with her hair. Kudos to the author for making something so ordinary into the most amusing, unique and captivating feature a heroine has ever had. It is a brilliant stroke of genius and is another testimony to Ms. Brooks’ vivid imagination.
Dax is one of the newly found Zetithians and he’s so dreamy. I really enjoyed reading about his falling in love and how he goes about it. It’s not perfect and that made it all the more special. I also enjoyed the role he ends up playing. It was sort of mystical and very heroic. What makes it even better? He wasn’t doing it for the glory but something a lot more basic and romantic, love. My favorite description of him comes from Ava: “He was a big purring kitten of a man…” How can a reader not fall in love with him too?
I had an absolute blast with the secondary characters. Waroun constantly gave me the giggles, Kots was creepy and totally cool, Threldigan is a character I’d love to know more about, and Quinn was a character with a surprising bit of depth, after he took a bath.
Remember I mentioned fun dialogue? This line had me in stitches and is just a small example of the fun that is in store for readers throughout the entire book. “...you want to get dinner over with so you can get back to the ship and play snuggle bunnies with Super Kitten.” There are so many moments of wonderful repartee between Dax, Ava and the other characters that it made reading this story a breeze. I never knew who was going to say what and it guaranteed my absolute focus on the story. I didn’t want to miss a thing.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t tease readers with the hot factor in the book. Yes, the powerful snard is back but I also think the author challenged herself a bit with some of the physical relationship scenes this time around. It’s really eyebrow raising and quite erotic and yet even in the midst of all those increased pheromones, some scenes get tickled with the brush of humor to an enjoyable degree. I loved it!
It’s not all purrs, bites and sex in trees; there are some seriously nasty villains chasing Dax and Ava. At one point I thought there was one group but as I read I figured out that there were two factions chasing my new favorite hero and heroine and I didn’t know which group was worse and who was going to get to them first. It was a great bit of writing because it kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked the idea that things the main characters thought they knew were actually mistruths and the revelations were gripping. The confrontation was full of action and crisp writing and I felt like I was right in the thick of it. It’s another strong point in this book’s favor.
Virgin is high caliber entertainment from beginning to end – it hit all my happy buttons and I couldn’t put it down. I continue to be amazed as to the quality and vibrant imagery painted within its pages, whether it be flora, fauna or characters. Ms. Brooks has consistently written well thought out intricate stories that amuse and entertain and Virgin continues the trend. It’s been an awesome reading experience and I am so glad the author has more coming out. I simply can’t get enough of that snard!
090419: that was fast. multiple in all ways. this is science-fantasy popular romantic pulp, seventh in series i have not read, but certainly helps me better understand those female ‘sci-fi’ geeks who were both defensive, proud, assertive in person, about what science-fantasy authors should write, and how this is essentially different than male geeks. rather than discovering you character as hero, win big fights, gain empire etc. there is saving family/world from war, finding love through lust, understanding self/history and value in universe... and there is much grrreat sex. again, this is found as first experience but it is finally, after much, found that this expresses love. as in happily-ever-after. there is some heroine’s journey in ending war/terror etc. but the most important thing is he loves her. and this means more grrreat sex... so, an easy read. maybe not to read the series. in fact, it reminds me most of that comic space-opera from 1949 ‘witches of karres’, which i have somehow read about 3 times... with grrreat sex...
question: after looking at gr reviews i am wondering, do any other men read this? please enlighten why/why not...
later addition: 160419 and this is very funny, maybe self-referring, maybe satire of the sub genre...
I have the privilege of being Cheryl's critique partner, so I was able to be one of the first people to read Virgin. All of you Cat Star Chronicle fans are in for a REAL TREAT! This is probably her best book of the series! Great characterizations, hilarious secondary characters. Virgin has it all!!
Virgin should have been called WTF because those three letters popped up in my head constantly as I read. Cheryl Brooks has a crazy imagination. There were too many info dumps and too much telling but she told an interesting story.
I thought I would feel dropped into their world as this is book 7 but I didn't. Brooks gives us a good intro to both leads. However, Ava comes off as kinda dim at first (Lars was awful, but wait there is a reason for her staying that we find out later) and Dax seems like a pretty bum.
Dax and Ava were okay but I didn't love either one. There were a million side characters but they all seemed to serve a purpose even if I couldn't keep the names straight.
The Zetithian (Dax's people) are known for their cat like beauty and the men are basically non demonic Incubi. Women constantly fall all over them and they are better lovers than any other being. We are told this over and over again. This ends up being a huge part of the book. The main adventure is actually about Ava and her father's home planet.
Safe mostly (we meet/hear about Lars but she leaves him a few hours after meeting Dax and Dax talks about all of the women who want him and thinks about working at a brothel, lol).
But there is a really not safe scene (not the guy giving his twin a bj o.O )
I was surprised when I read that there was another book in the Cat Star Chronicles. At the end of Hero, the sixth book, I thought the series was at an end but as Cheryl says in Virgin[Image], her publisher said that cats have nine lives and her series should have just as many. If I had looked closer I would have realized that the following message Jack got in Hero's Epilogue was setting the stage for future books.
"A woman by the name of Amelyana Grekkor has arrived at Terra Minor in a starship filled with over a hundred Zetithian refugees. They have been in space for twenty-five years and are requesting permission to land."
Dax was raised on that ship. He is now a wealthy Starship pilot with his own ship. When he accepts a passenger he charges only what they can afford to pay. Ava Karon needs to get away from an abusive man and Dax agrees to take her to her home planet. Because Dax has never met a woman he wants he is still a virgin. Dax is attracted to Ava but he does not know how to let her know. Women usually throw themselves at him but Ava does not. Dax needs help. Throw in danger, a friend who may or may not help Dax with Ava, and you have a great adventure.
Virgin is a great addition to the Cat Star series. Again Cheryl Brooks has come up with great hero and a woman who is his match. With over one hundred Zetithian refugees still out there nine lives may not be enough for this series.
Virgin can be read as a stand-alone but for the most fun start at the beginning with Slave and read in the following order; Warrior, Outcast, Rogue, Fugitive, and Hero.
Dax is a virgin unlike all the other Zetithain males we've come across. It was nice to see one of this highly sought after guys keeps it in his pants waiting for the right girl. If you've read any of the series you know all about the Zetithain's special skills and extras in the sex department. The males have to have all those extras to win over females of their species.
So Dax is waiting and Ava just so happens to need him and his ship, no pun intended, to another world.
Look forward to some great fun. Comedy, romance, a little mystery/suspense, and whole lotta making up for lost time. It has a happy ending and left me chuckling with the last line....
I have loved the Cat Star Chronicles series (#6 was my favorite in the series)...they have moments where they are a bit corny, but that is part of the appeal/fun of them...they are pure fantasy. For some reason, this one just did not do it for me. I made it to page 270 of the 355 pages, but just could not finish it. I hope that I will be able to finish it later and re-evaluate it, but for right now, I just can't pick it back up.
From here on out I assume their will be no reunions with past characters as, this character, Dax was a part of the Zetith crew who lived in space most their lives. They are new characters unassociated with the first ones in this series.
I will miss those reunions though.
The first part of this book is about the burgeoning relationship between Dax, who is actually a virgin but gives off the image of being a bad boy, and Ava who is Terran mixed with Aquerei -a water based species.
The second part turns into a plot to save her home world.
I really felt Dax the most out of all the Zetithians in the previous books. I enjoyed the way Dax was described as garnering much respect without having to do much.
He was responsible and took charge in crucial moments but his image just evoked that from everyone. It didn't stop his crew/passengers from teasing him in fun moments though.
His character aptly describes what it means to be in charge and have people depend on you. Sometimes you have no idea what you're doing but you just have to keep going for those who depend on you.
There isn't much about Zetithian culture or anything. I really missed that. I wanted to explore more about them... Besides their snard.
I had a couple things I didn't like in here but not serious things that would stop me from recommending the book.
Firstly, I think its being forgotten that snard etc is actually cum and precum. In a previous book, Rogue, I remember vaguely Trag putting precum in the female's wine glass. Now here, there is a scene where a Zetithian who is not with the female just... puts some in her mouth.
I have no problem with this happening between lovers but strangers... That's a problem. Realistically, who let's a stranger just touch themselves and then put their fluids in your mouth? Lol
Then the female character seems a bit untrustworthy as a partner. She has a history of just going from one bed partner to another. I couldn't identify with her and feared for Dax.
An excuse of her being drugged and the men she'd been with, being her protectors... Still did not convince me that she was worthy of Dax or even just a nice person.
And the whole being drugged and having protectors who slept with her... That really wasn't dealt with seriously enough. I would have been horrified if it had been me.
I really enjoyed the side characters i.e. the crew/passengers of Dax's ship. The teasing and comraderie. I think the term "Super kitten" will stay in my mind for quite a while💝
And I really like the moment Dax thought to himself, he would not be giving his sperm away to the sperm bank. He only wanted Ava to have his children. That really did something for me to respect him even more.
Well it would take someone truly special to make this man break his self-imposed celibacy, and he happens to be a captain of his very own spaceship, giving rides to those who are down on their luck for a fraction of the cost. Among the pages of this book, you will find a romance, a prophecy, and a mysterious plot for the damsel on Dax's ship! Read this book, and I think you'll quite enjoy it!
Its not a bad book just a meh book. I am always reading several books at once. This one got abandoned about 75% through because it couldn't get my attention, at least not enough to compete with the other books I was reading.
These books are light, sex-positive erotica. There's nothing particularly deep about them, but they are amusing and pleasant, with enough character development to make them engaging.
Virgin, the seventh novel in the Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks, is a wonderful futuristic series that is masterfully developed with just the right amount of humor, campiness, and romance to set your pulse racing. With amazing characters and adventurous worlds you'll want to revisit, this is one series that will have you hooked.
As this was my first time reading either the series or a novel by Brooks, I really didn't know what to expect coming in. With this being the seventh novel, I really anticipated having to play a lot of catch-up and being horribly lost, but that fear was quickly dispelled as we are thrust in to the life of the sexy as hell, virginal Zetithian, Dax. And honestly, from the first few pages I was sucked into this tale and the lives of the characters, from main characters Dax and Ava, to the secondary characters who brought with them some interesting and diverse personalities as well as some great humor.
Dax and Ava, however, were definitely at the forefront with an instantly crackling charge of sexual tension that starts this novel off right. The pull between them, though instantaneous, was developed perfectly making this the real corner stone of the story, especially given that Dax is so oblivious to all things romance and Ava is so hesitant in letting her emotions overrule her good sense. But, what makes this truly wonderful was the underhanded and devious plotting of the peripheral characters in hooking these two up. It was often times sneaky, but more often then not, simply hilarious. It really served to make their relationship all the more thrilling as they try and fight against the feelings that are drawing them closer. Ultimately, I loved the romance throughout as well as all of the delicious tension.
The world building was just as rich and lavish creating not only a world, but a universe that was great fun to see and explore with the characters. There was a lot of wonderful detail that really helped to bring the world and settings to life creating a three dimensional world in which to travel. The atmosphere was also quite enjoyable with a campy science fiction feel that perfectly matched the sexually charged nature of the novel while making it approachable and fun all at the same time.
The plot line, as can be expected from a novel that is so nicely written, was just as well developed ranging from great mysteries centered around the characters as well as just focusing on the characters themselves. There was also a lot of great action and adventure as well as some complex subplots centered around who and what the characters truly are. Overall, the cumulative effect is one the is extremely enjoyable climaxing in a way that perfectly suited the story itself creating a highly enjoyable and satisfying conclusion.
In the end, this may have been my first time reading this series and this author, but it will not be my last. It far exceeded my expectations creating a world and characters that I was engrossed by as well as delivering a satisfying plot with lot of great elements that kept me captive throughout. Fans of science fiction with a heavy backbone of romance will thoroughly enjoy this series as well any fan of a good, fun, and sensuous read. Can't wait to get my hands on the previous installments, nor on the ones to come!
Dax is from a species known for their sexual talents. Instead of indulging in carnal delights with one of the many women who through themselves at him, Dax has remained a virgin and plans to stay that way. That is until he offers a ride on his space ship to a beautiful woman who is fleeing from an abusive ex. Ava just wanted to go back to her home planet. She never expected to fall for a man who excites her every time he purrs and land in the middle of civil war on her father's home world. Now Ava and Dax are part of a battle to not only save a civilization but also save a love neither thought they wanted.
Dax is Zetithian. They are a race who have a few cat like physical features sexual skills that women of all species can't get enough of. Their numbers were reduced to near nothing when their planet was destroyed. Dax is one of a small group who survived and lived decades on a space craft. Now that he's on his own, Dax has plans and they don't involve settling down and starting a family. Starting a family is the last thing on Ava's mind as well. Yet when these two first meet there is an attraction but they keep getting in their own ways. Ava sees a bad boy when she looks at Dax so that makes her shy away from him and Dax being a virgin, he has no idea what it takes to woe a woman.
Dax was true to his word and really cared for the people who boarded his ship, most of which were strangers to him. He's honorable yet hinted he had a more mischievous side. Of course I feel for him just like all the other ladies who crossed his path. I can't say I really cared for Ava or them as a pair. She seemed more concerned with herself for the better part of the book and aside from the sex, which I'll admit was very hot, there wasn't much to their relationship. I thought Dax was more into it than she was so I ended up not really invested in the outcome of their relationship.
On their way to take Ava back to her planet, Dax and his crew take a detour to pick up a friend and learn that the necklace Ava's father gave her is the key to saving the planet he is from. I thought this was plot was over shadowed by sex. It felt like someone was either talking about it or doing it and I wanted something more substantial to happen.
Virgin ended up being some where between ok and good for me. I liked Dax and his friend/slide kick Waroun. Not the most attractive male but he had a fun sense of humor and would do anything for Dax. I think if you like a quick reading sci-fi romance that's heavier on sex than actual plot, you'll like Virgin.
Virgin by Cheryl Brooks Historical Romance – June 1st 2011 4 1/2 stars
Those who love this futuristic series about the Zetithian , a race of men who are so seductive that they can’t keep women away, will definitely enjoy this latest!! It has humor, charm and an irresistible hero. This author only seems to be getting better; I am so glad she has more ‘Cat’ books planned!
In this story, Dax looks like the tough space pirate but inside he is really just a soft pussy cat. Although women have been throwing themselves at him all his life, he has never found one to catch his fancy. Plus he has always been the serious type and never wanted to start a relationship if he wasn’t interested with his whole heart. But something happens while stopping at the sleazy planet of Luxaria. A waitress named Ava caught his interest. For the first time in his life he has to force his attention away from a woman. Unfortunately, Ava has a boyfriend. But when he finds out from his shipmate that she wants to escape her current boyfriend, he is ready to take her away. But he later discovers that she wants to travel back home to be with her old boyfriend! It is just his luck to be finally attracted to a flighty female. Dax fear his prospects don't look good, but his shipmates and the plucky butler/robot Kot are determined to play matchmaker!
This was a fun romance to read, mainly due to the hilarious and often devious secondary cast who plots to get Ava and Dax together. They were an absolute riot. I loved the sly robot Kot whose mischievous antics gave him a life of his own. Plus the wisecracking 'side kick' Waroun who knew that Ava and Dax were meant to be together and 'helped' the process along. Dax was at first very mysterious but the more the author revealed about him, I couldn’t help falling for his kind heart. (Although he tries to hide it!) He is very serious and abrupt but that is really because he feels inept with his social skills and his attempts to pursue a woman for the first time were amusing to read. The funniest part was especially his confusion on how to attract her. The heroine was also bit of a mystery in the book. I did like her but did not find her quite as charming as the rest of the cast.
Uplifting, easy to read, and amusing, I highly recommend this book. This is already one of my favorites in the series!

Virgin by Cheryl Brooks is a book in her Cat Star Chronicles erotic science fiction series.
Ava Karon is working in a bar on an obscure planet when she gets fed up with her abusive boyfriend and decides to return to her home world. Luckily, Ava manages to hitch a ride on the starship of sexy pilot Dax, along with several other aliens. Ava and Dax are immediately attracted to each other. Neither one is quite sure what to make of their intense feelings, but they decide to give their relationship a chance as they journey toward Ava's home planet. What the couple doesn't realize is that Ava is in possession of a powerful crystal that will either save or destroy her home planet -- and that there are others out there who will do anything to get the crystal.
Science fiction isn't my favorite genre to read, but every once in a while, I'll try a sci-fi book just for a change of pace. Some of the characters were funny, like Waroun, Dax's friend, and it was cool to see the starship passengers band together during the course of their journey. Also, some of the world building was interesting, especially Ava's home planet, which is an oceanic world.
Unfortunately, I just didn't think there was that much of a plot to the book. Ava and Dax are traveling to her home planet, but it seems like a lot of the book is just aliens talking about sex and how to have sex with other aliens. It takes Ava and Dax most of the book to get to her home planet, and once they do, it seems like all the problems are resolved pretty quickly. I would have liked the book a lot better if a little less time had been spent on the journey and more time on Ava's planet and dealing with the situation there. I also think I might have gotten more out of the book if I had read the others in the series.
Overall, this book didn't work for me, but science fiction fans may enjoy it.
Virgin is book #9 of the Cat Star Chronicles series. This is my first time reading a book from this series. Even without prior knowledge of the previous 8 books, Virgin was easy to follow.
Dax is The 30-year old virgin. He has yet to meet a woman who has made him purr...until Ava. Ava wants to go back to her home planet and reunite with her old boyfriend. After dumping her loser boyfriend, Lars, Ava is relieved when Dax offers her a ride on his starship. Ava is attracted to Dax but she's doubtful of the attraction. She's heard rumors about Zetithians, about how sex with them is addictive. She doesn't want to fall into that trap.
Virgin was a pleasant surprised. I was shocked at how steamy and sexy the story was. Dax is uncomfortable around women and is not skillful at seduction. His attempts at wooing Ava and failing at it, created many awkward and endearing moments. Dax and Ava's relationship progressed naturally and I am happy that it wasn't rushed. Once they finally gave into their attraction and passion, it was explosive.
I also enjoyed the side characters, especially Waroun. He was hilarious and I loved the nicknames he had for Dax; The Great Virgin and Super Kitten.
Virgin was an enjoyable read. The plot and the characters were entertaining even though trying to pronounce some of the names was giving me a headache. I eventually gave up and just started making up my own names for the characters. Virgin definitely reads as a stand alone. If you're looking for a steamy fantasy romance, Virgin definitely fits the bill.
This was my first novel of the Cat Star series, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I believe this is the first romance novel I’ve read that the male counterpart was the virgin. I’d be lying if I said that wasn’t part of what drew me to this book.
Ava is a passenger on Dax’s ship that he has an unexplainable attraction to. Never before has he ever been affected by a woman like this. He’s not sure of how to go about convincing her that she should be with him, so he seeks advice from friends. One is a lady’s man and the other has his one issues when it comes to getting women.
The overall story of Virgin was interesting enough to keep me reading. The sex between them was hot but the romance was a tad lukewarm. The secondary characters provided most of my entertainment. Watching Waroun on his quest to get laid was a major highlight.
Ava and Dax were such likeable characters that in their own right that I couldn’t help but want a happy ending for them.
Okay so this was better than the last installment and a really enjoyable story.
I am starting to feel as if the same things are happening with just a slight variation to the plot, but I still like this series.
Dax is a Virgin and has saved himself for someone he wants to be with someone he will love which is nice and he is quite romantic and naive which is kinda cute. Ava is kick arse but also delicate interesting combination but it does work and her cool species quirks with the hair and the glowing skin make the story a little more interesting.
The romance was quite slow and I did miss the banter between the two characters that usually builds up your enthusiasm for their ultimate coupling.
Waroun is a hoot and you will laugh out loud a few times mainly because of him, I would love to see him get his own story.
All up another good read from Cheryl Brooks although I did miss the other characters that usually pop up in this series.
I enjoyed this addition to the Cat Star series. I liked both the hero and the heroine. There were about 4 sex scenes and if you've read any of the rest of the series you know those are over the top weird raunchy and dripping wet. But the best part of this story is that it has a real solid sci fi plot. Even better was the world building. The three planets involved all were very vividly imagined and described. I especially loved the commercial planet where the air was filled with subliminal messages and pheremones intended to convince you that you needed whatever "they" were selling. You had to keep chanting "don't want it. don't need it" in order not to spend yourself destitute. A totally cool sci fi extrapolation of hard sell techniques. Secondary characters were a hoot but did not take over the story. Not great literature but good fun. True love, snard and sci fi.
In Cheryl Brooks' Cheryl Brooks Virgin Virgin, Dax is surprisingly dark, brooding, and sexy for a guy who has never had sex. That he's the captain of his own starship makes him that much more delicious. The heroine, Ava, was a delight. Mermaid alien (sans fish tail) mixed with human, she presented an endless supply of sassy, fun twists to this story. The romance is sweet, which is a wonderful surprise considering the sweeping epic of this adventure. Once these two characters get together, the sensuality becomes addictive. Add to it the action and exotic planets they visit, and this book packs a serious fun-to-read punch! Don't miss this one in the series!!
An interesting concept but some things were just a little too weird. I liked the idea of the guy being the virgin in this one but the way the alien species was conceived just kinda came across as a bit ridiculous to me. I could never really get into the story without massive eyerolls and scoffs, which is kinda sad because the plot about her alien heritage and the different groups trying to find her was pretty interesting, but then there'd be another lengthy sex scene with her hair curling and uncurling magically and his penis doing weird tricks. Also the conclusion of what was supposed to be the main plot seemed kinda haphazardly thrown in to me, and then it was right back to sex, sex in the ocean! For the most part the plot just seemed like an afterthought to fill in the gaps between sex scenes and that's just not my cup of tea.
Brooks can definitely write some super hot scenes that will leave you dripping wet with desire. Who knew alien sex was so hot?! The Cat Star Chronicles is a saucy read for those willing to join the journey on a galactic experience beyond your wettest dreams. I give Virgin lots of purrs for it’s characters. Yes this is a VERY sexy read if you know what I mean (if you’re easily offended, not the book for you), but the characters were an absolute delight to read about and follow along with. I don’t think there wasn’t a character she created I wasn’t interested in. Even the various aliens on Rhylos had my interest peaked. The read was fun, light, and adventurous in all ways. The perfect late night read or for the beach.
