There are a million books about making books. I like this one, in that it includes the history of paper and books.

There is a range of projects, all levels of ability, all ages, group and individual projects, lots of different ideas. Some might be quite ambitious for beginners but there are many for them, too.

This would be essential if you were teaching a class. You could easily build a class around it.

Great historical information on handmade books and cards. Not a book for a beginner. This book has notes for a teacher. It is intimidating. This would be a great text book for a course being taught by an expert.
