Series Review: Happy Cafe is a sweet and funny manga that is a great light read. The characters are hilarious (often times even the bad guys) and the plot is never boring despite its slower pace. The romance is a slowly developing relationship that is refreshing in a overfilled market of instalove trends. The ending was kinda rushed but cute in its own way. I recommend this manga to those who are looking for a light read.

Very interesting volume! We got some more backstory for Ichiro and we also got to see Uru at school. A lot more characters get introduced, Uru’s classmates and more small children (awwww so cute!!!!). I just wish that everybody didn’t look the same!!! It was really hard to tell all these pretty boys apart lol.

ALSO- WHY did the mangaka change Ichiro’s hair??!!!!! I hate his hair now and it makes him look like some of the other dudes in the series…

It was actually a pleasant read. Plus the illustrations were really cute. But dang! That ending is so lacking! Where's the most anticipated kiss?!!!

A lot of this book was set at Uru's school, and I'm not into high school plots. The addition of new little kids that all become friends was very cute, as well and Shindo and Uru "researching cakes."

This volume of Happy Cafe was one of the best yet! It was uber-adorable; I LOVED the bits with Sakura and Jiro becoming friends at kindergarten, and then them running around town. So very cute. I would have given it 5 stars just for that. But then everything else was fantastic too, with Uru's life, and then getting to see an Ichiro flashback, etc. I really loved, or maybe hated, when But anyways, basically it's one of my fave mangas, and one of my fave books in general.

I still really like this series, but the middle of this volume went a bit astray. The beginning was strong --super kawaii-- with the tiny tots becoming friends, right up to the surprise party for Cafe staff.

Things go downhill with the school festival story. Things go a bit "keystone cops" with characters running around without purpose. Strange.
