After all this time, the we finally get to see a long, final battle between a Joestar and Dio. Even if Stardust Crusaders itself didn't build up this fight very well, it does feel like the entire series at large has been leading to this moment. So it's only fitting that this entire volume is focused purely on Jotaro vs Dio, the longest single fight in the series so far.
At first I wasn't to keen on the idea that Star Platinum and The World are essentially the same stand. But the way that idea is executed is just fantastic. The slow build to the revelation that he can stop time too was a steady buildup of tension. Once the initial surprise factor wears off, Jotaro is in a race against time to master this newfound ability. When time stops and we get a glimpse into Dio's mind as he tries to plot out his next move and figure out Jotaro's limits- those moments are just the best. The pattern is established that we will be with Dio as he uses those 5 seconds to gain the advantage. So when Jotaro suddenly bursts through the stillness, it leaves a strong impression. The rules we were taught are broken and all of a sudden everything has changed.
I really loved the moment where Polnareff leaps in to make the save. For what feels like the first time, we get to occupy Jotaro's mind. As Dio prepares to finish off Polnareff, Jotaro has to figure out how and when to reveal that Dio hadn't actually finished him off. The clever ways he draws Dio's attention are thrilling, as is the moment where Jotaro stops his own heart. And then Star Platinum gets that one good hit on Dio and shatters his skull. Now, this embodiment of evil is stuck flailing around . He keeps getting punched in the face before he can use his godly powers. Amazing.
I do have to take issue with the fakeout for Joseph's death. It's played off as if Jotaro might just be imaging Joseph's ghost. But the lines shouldn't really be blurred like that. Maybe I'm just salty because I don't like it when grandpa jojo gets hurt.
Dio's final form is terrifying. It's another case where breaking the rules is effective, as he can suddenly stop time for longer, but with good reason. And he drills his fucking finger into his head to make a point. His power is through the roof and he's only got one hand on the steering wheel.
The steamroller panel has become another meme, but I'd argue it's because that is an effective moment as well. Jotaro is gearing up to use his last hail mary against Dio. All of his allies are seemingly dead, everything we understood about Dio's limitations have just been proven wrong, and Jotaro's body is utterly destroyed. At this point, Jotaro's got one last shot. Dio has no reason not to head straight for Jotaro and finish the job. So Jotaro has to use his last two seconds to land some kind of hit on Dio and end it now. Smoke em if you got em.
But Dio doesn't do that. He comes flying out of nowhere, dropping a steamroller on Jotaro. It's stupid, it's unexpected, it straddles the line between serious action and comedy. But it was also the best option in that given situation. It's like a good action game. The flashiest, craziest choice is also the best one. To look flashy you have to play well. And to play well you have to look flashy.
Immediately after this is the fist pumping finale. Finally, finally, the tables are turned on Dio. He's the one stuck in place while Jotaro is free to do as he pleases. From top to bottom it's a fantastic fight.
Things wrap up nicely. Joseph and Jotaro tossing Dio's remains into the sun after all this time was such a cathartic moment. From the beginning we've known that this is the way to rid the world of Dio. And even after all the vampire and hamon stuff has been pushed to the background, we still get to see Dio turn to ash. Two generations of Joestars, at long last getting to purge the world of this evil that has haunted their family for a century. As the sun rises and Dio turns to dust, they lament all the friends that were lost along the way. The death toll has been great, especially if you count those who were lost in previous generations. Jonathan, Danny, George Joestar I and II, Straizo, the entire Zepelli bloodline. Joseph lived to see the end of Kars and Dio. The ancient origin of this evil that created the mask, and it's modern incarnation in Dio. The one who lived to beat those odds both times was the good for nothing, momma's boy trickster. In the twilight of his life, Joseph gets to watch the final remnants of the curse fade away. The sun rises on a world without the mask, without the pillar men, and without Dio.

Jojo's bizarre adventure, this is more like a small review, honestly i never thought i'd get into this series due to the manly looking artstyle and flashy colors, but boy was i wrong.
It's a long running series by araki hirohiko (Eternal mangaka fairy.) containing 8 parts so far and Stardust crusaders serving as the third part of the series with 152 chapters and 16 volumes and possibly the most widely read and strongest series between them all, it's more shonen based than the other two parts, as it contains more fights and more thrills, also my favorite part coming right before Part 2 Battle tendency.
Also this is the part where araki introduced stands, where every character is gonna have their own stand powers. stands are basically physical forms of a person's soul and will, each with different powers and will play a HUGE part in this story and the whole jojoverse afterwards, and also one of the reasons why i like this series alot.
The story is really simple and straight forward, its about a highschool student called jotaro kujo, who's more of a different protagonist than the other two introduced in the series, he's more of a badass calm kind of guy but also with his own sense of justice. What happens when his mother falls to a stand's power but unable to control so its slowly taking her life, the only way to save her is to kill the person who's responsible for activating the joestar's stand powers and its non other than DIO (Main villain in part 1) makes a twisted return, while the heroes embark on a long journey to find dio while making allies on the way, their gonna have to deal with an army of stand users who sold their soul to Dio.
The whole characters cast is pretty interesting that includes five (Later six) main protagonist each with their own charm and goals and with the return of joseph joestar, but receiving a side role of the story as jotaro's mentor, he's still the same quirky lovable guy as he was before, Most of the bad guys in this story didn't really stand out and most of them didn't really have that much of a background to them, thats one of the down sides i find in this story.
Now for the artstyle, i honestly really love araki's artstyle from part 2 to 3. granted part 2 had really messy artstyle but compared to part 3's art style, it didn't change much, it became more clean and linear with more shadows, The art isn't really flawless or the best, but it really has its own charm, the downside is that alot of people would judge JJBA according to its manly flashy artstyle, which leads to manga readers to drop this series completely.
Aside from all the things above, not so much on the character development side, it kinda shows more development on the relationships of some characters, but i really don't have any problem with that, the creativity in the story and art really covers that up, what i love about the fights is that their all different since every character has different stand power, let alone traditional hand to hand fights, its more where the character uses their wits and wisdom to fight a strong opponent and you just sit there wondering whats gonna happen next.
(Also bonus points for the final chapters, this is where it got me really hooked up to the series)
It's hard to find any downsides flaws in this story mainly it would've been better if it had more depth to it, but its really already exciting as it is
also the bad guys could have more of a background to their story and not just appear as people who sold their soul to dio.
So to wrap things up, i give this manga a 4.3/5, it really has plenty to offer and really glad i checked it out, its one of those hidden gems that need to be more popular.

¡Cinco años! ¡Como cinco años tardé en leerme entero todo Stardust Crusaders! Espero no volver a colgar así esta serie, ya que el nivel de fanatismo incondicional que me despertó se sale de la escala. Al fin voy a poder ver los OVAs sin miedo a espoilearme nada (y voy a poder ver sin problemas la segunda temporada del nuevo anime). Al fin voy a poder jugar al videogame de PS y entender todas las referencias. ¡Al fin voy a poder arrancar bien con la parte 4! Y aunque ya hice trampa leyendo cachitos chiquitos de las partes 5 y 6, y me leí tomos enteros de las partes 7 y 8, al fin voy a poder seguir la historia de los Joestar -y derivados- en esta y cualquier otra realidad.

Stardust Crusaders introduces the Stands into the series, and to the world as a whole - and thus at last and irrevocably put the capital B in the Bizarre of the title. This is where things get weird. You thought they were already weird in Battle Tendency, but you were wrong. The Stands can be literally anything, on literally anyone - the sky's the limit - and the way they play off of one another is so much more varied and weird than the Ripple, which usually boiled down to who was the strongest, or involved inventive use of external factors.
Too bad that Jotaro himself is kind of a boring protagonist, with a fairly uninteresting special power. Most of the time the fights are therefore settled not by weird power synergy, or by some low cunning and prediction, but rather by Star Platinum simply brute-forcing its way through the challenges like great-great-grandpa Jonathan used to do... only without the good personality. Fortunately the later arcs would fix this.
I'm also a bit sad about what happened to Joseph, but I suppose we can't have him have too much spotlight lest he ends up as the main character again. I think a little bit more of his old competence and strength and cunning couldn't have hurt, though... maybe take the spotlight away from Polnareff a bit. On the whole it probably handles its supporting characters the worst: the ones I didn't mention here are almost entirely left to the sidelines, especially poor Abdoul. Villains on the other hand tend to be hilarious and insane - and Daniel D'arby in particular gave maybe the best fight in the manga, and a clear exception in the previously-mentioned lack of cunning or use of overwhelming force.
This arc is also where I think the art is at its best. The roughness of the earlier arcs is smoothened down, but we're not yet down on the road of polished bishonen samey-fish-faces.
On the whole, it's pretty good. Not a favourite, maybe not even in the Top Three, but it's a solid read.

Probablemente uno de los principales problemas de esta parte es el ritmo, teniendo momentos muy altos y otros muy bajos. Ahora los bajos no son tan bajos como para odiar a la obra, pero si hace que se sienta que tenga varios tropiezos al momento de narrar lo que desean. Venimos de Phantom Blood o Battle Tendency donde son productos más minimalistas y tratan de ir de lleno al problema en cuestión. En el caso de Phantom Blood es la discusión directa entre el primer Jojo y Dio, y Battle Tendency contra tres entidades mitológicas, por lo que esta parte recurrimos a situaciones como en Saint Seiya, donde ven recorrer muchos lugares con diferentes enemigos para llegar al objetivo final: Dio.
Ahora, ¿vale la pena el viaje? Sí, pero incluso podrías saltarte las peleas más flojas y no pasa nada, puede ser que incluso gane el ritmo de la historia, porque esta batalla final es impresionante. El stand de Dio es demasiado roto, y se siente realmente una diferencia abismal entre los protagonistas y el antagonista, por lo que sientes que cualquier cosa puede suceder, lo cual hace más impresionante la batalla entre los personajes. Jotaro no es mi personaje favorito, y sinceramente muchas cosas se les da de manera simple, su abuelo tuvo un entrenamiento o uso la suerte a su favor. En el caso de este nuevo Jojo se siente un tanto raro, porque terminas sintiendo que el personaje lo fuerzan a dar la pelea, lo cual es lógico porque necesitan ganarle a Dio de alguna forma u otra, y las cosas ilógicas no me molestan, de hecho agradezco que Joseph haya quedado vivo de la forma más bizarra posible, mi problema erradica en la personalidad de este personaje: no me gusta.
¿Eso hace Stardust Crusaders una mala parte? Creo que no, pero probablemente es el aprendizaje para las próximas serializaciones que vendrán, donde ya entendiendo los tiempos de cada parte, se va a sentir más orgánico contar una historia. Por lo que definitivamente, es un gran ejercicio para lo que vendrá.

The final volume brings an excellent end to Stardust Crusaders, with a thrilling fight between Dio and Jotaro. The lead-up is incredible; Polnareff's encounter with Dio on the stairway, and Kakyoin's confrontation with Dio where he learns the true power of The World. Both build the aura of ominous expectation that befits Dio and his mysterious stand. Kakyoin's death is masterfully written, one of the saddest death scenes I've seen in media. The final battle is high intensity, with the twists and turns that are a JoJo trademark, though there were a few asspulls that allowed Jotaro to win. The volume ends with a tribute to Jotaro's fallen allies, and Jotaro and Joseph saying goodbye to Polnareff in an airport scene that tugs my heartstrings no matter how many times I read it.

and just like that. the stardust crusaders have finished their journey. reading this has reminded me how amazing this part was and how it really was an adventure and all the wacky stands and the really emotional shit as well. polanreff my GOAT. thinking everyone is dead and trying to hit that final blow just… wow. jotaro and dio. amazing. speechless. it felt so perfect and so conclusive. they are so similar yet so different and it has been so fun. and joseph the little jokey jokester that he is. a prankster to the end. and that final chapter. wow. polanreff going back home with leaving joseph and jotaro to themselves. and their journey has ended. FAVORITE PART OVER… but i heard there something going down in a little town called morioh?? kinda bizarre.

El final de la parte tres.
No se si en anteriores reviews he contados muchos spoilers, y no se si en realidad alguien está leyendo esto, pero lo hago con gusto, y de cualquier forma no contaré spoilers.
Sólo diré que Jotaro para mi siempre será un Jerry Stu, y que por el momento, no es mi Jojo favorito, pero todo puede cambiar más adelante. Dio es un gran villano, al punto de ser una enorme amenaza.
El final de esta parte no me pareció al final de los anteriores, a pesar de que todos dejan abiertos para algo nuevo, este me mantiene como si pudiera ser un final concreto.

El final de esta parte no me pareció al final de los anteriores, a pesar de que todos dejan abiertos para algo nuevo, este me mantiene como si pudiera ser un final concreto.

The Stardust Crusaders have come to an end... This series just keeps on getting better and better. I felt attached to the characters and I'm now listening to Last Train Home feeling a bit blue. This part was a journey, it was long but quick-paced and therefore easy to read. I didn't like this part after the anime particularly much, but now I've really taken a liking to it. I can't wait to read part 4 and see if I'll grow even fonder of Morioh and Josuke.

Un final fort, mais je ne mets pas 5 étoiles car j'ai du mal avec le personnage de Jotaro, alors le voir tout seul sur un tome entier ne m'intéresse pas tant que ça.
C'était intéressant de lire ce troisième arc de Jojo, je comprends pourquoi ce manga est devenu un phénomène, il y a beaucoup d'inventivité dans cette histoire.

Part 3 was where I really started get addicted to the series, the all around story/adventure doesn’t make much since but it’s really exciting and hard to put down! Really love the art style and the characters!!👌😁😻😻❤️❤️❤️

The author lowkey did Dio dirty. The art style is nice and the author shows us how Dio learned to stop time was interesting. I also liked how blood from the Jostars made Dio stronger, but when Dio was defeated it kind of seemed like he only lost because he wasn't the main character.

I’ve gotten bored by the main storyline by this point, so it was great to see this chapter end.
Nothing is impossible in this story, not even avoiding death.

I gave the last volume 5 stars although I don't remember why. Early on I really loved this series. It was strange, violent, funny, and action-packed. Then it began to wear on me. In the beginning the action scenes were clear, later in the series they became muddy and confusing. I didn't feel I was reading something fresh and inventive. Instead, as the series wore on I felt I was reading something just trying to stay afloat until the end. And thank goodness for the end. The inevitable end. *Snooze*

A esto es lo que llamo un final satisfactorio, pese a las numerosas veces que se partió mi corazón. El final de la tercera parte NO ME HA DECEPCIONADO.
¿Saben algo? Se vienen reviews del manga en mi blog ;) Necesito hablar del cariño que he desarrollado por esta serie, nunca me cansare de agradecerle a mi novio por insistirme durante años para que la viese y ceder finalmente ante ella, porque hacía años no veía anime o leía un manga que me dejase complacida internamente con lo que acababa de leer/ver y tuvo que ser está serie, llena del factor nostalgia de una chica que se crio mirando los animes de los años 80's y 90's cuando pequeña y siendo esta serie, la que mucho influyera en aquellos animes de antaño.
Tras muchas despedidas tristes, sucesos extraños y hasta graciosos pero increiblemente dentro de un contexto explicable pese a lo extraño que fuesen, resumimos que esto es JoJo, la historia de un linaje familiar y sus aventuras bizarras :D

Y vamos de lleno a la parte cuatro a por uno de mi JoJo's favorito: Josuke Higashikata!
