God. Satan. Heaven. Hell. Limbo. Reality television. One single woman representing the human race.

Due to massive overcrowding in Hell, and no solution in sight, Satan has started petitioning the living to lead good, moral lives to spend eternity in Heaven rather than the bowels of Hell. In the meantime, God and Satan go head-to-head over Limbo. Winner takes all. The stage? A reality television show featuring the good and the very bad of both sides. Kate, the lone representative of humanity, stands pitted against angels, imps, and one very sexy War Demon, Michael. Here she fights for her sanity as well as keep the others in line, all the while debating the virtues of falling in love with someone she knows she can never have.

While very much amused by the summary of ‘666 Angel Lane,’ I absolutely did not anticipate enjoying this book as much as I did, nor was I prepared for the artful descriptions, the wonderfully drawn characters, or the wit. Ms. Green literally offers something for everyone. There is just enough romance, humor, plot, and drama for the storyline to completely balance itself out.

This is one of those times when you can’t love a book enough and want everyone to read it. For this reason, I refuse to offer anything resembling a spoiler, no matter how small. So please. Go. Read. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be laughing aloud before you’re even through the prologue. I love it when authors tickle my funny bone and appeal to my inner romantic. Lori Green has definitely made a new fan of me.

As a professional reader, in my dream world at least) and a writer I have to say 666 Angel Lane was a great story. It revolves around Kate, a human who finds herself trapped in a reality show with demons and angels as they vie for ownership of Limbo. The characters were engaging and likable. I could really visualize the heroine, Kate. The story is fast paced and although it ended clean I would love to see a sequel. Maybe Ms. Green could expand on Kate 's relationship with her demon lover and even throw in a few "heavenly" glitches. The only thing I would have liked to see added to the story, and again the plot is solid enough as it stands, is this; I would have liked the hot angel to have made an obvious play for Kate so that maybe there was a little, "who will she chose" going on. The book eludes to the TV audience feeling this way but as I reader I didn't see it. Again this is just my opinion. The story works as it stands.

One word review: Fantastic.

Two word review: Loved it.

Three word review: So much fun.

I had a hard time getting into this book. The premise was interesting but most of the problem I had with this linked to how big the cast was. It felt like the author was attempting to capture the insanity of reality shows with such big and very polar casts, but the translation didn't work as well in book form, at least for me. That combined with a lead couple that I wasn't interested in, and I just couldn't bring myself to finish it.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked this one up, but what I got was a great read and great characters. I could not put the book down. Not for readers who are easily offended but for those with a good sense of humor you can't go wrong with this one. :)
