It's a time of hope for the planet Mobius following the defeat of the evil Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.  The vile villain may be defeated, but that doesn't mean life is easy for Sonic the Hedgehog!

First off, it's adventure and mystery galore as Sonic has his first encounter with the cyborg simian Monkey Khan! Next, Knuckles joins the scene to help fight the god-like Master Mogul and the tragic (but treacherous) High Sheriff of Mercia!  And you simply cannot miss the beginning of the epic "World Tour" saga as Sonic and Tails take off to find the wicked wizard Ixis Naugus!

Don't get left in the dust! Sonic Archives 15 is full of first appearances and major turning points for hero and villain alike!

Starting off this Archive is an issue about a character I hate! YEAH! Monkey Khan is a cyborg Robotnik made a long time ago. He's kinda a jerk. Eventually we'll have a love tri-quad-something with him, Sally, Sonic, and the damn skunk. Gross. In the backup issue, King Acorn goes nutty and orders the dismantling of all the Robians... but we're not going to deal with that now because Knuckles is calling and needs our help!

I suspect this next issue makes more sense if I was reading Knuckles (stupid library holds). The Mammoth Mogul is back and somethingsomething Turbo Tails! Another unnecessary plotline! There's a lot of punching in this one.

And the third issue is a recap issue, just in case you missed the last 56 issues. Woo. I am super amused that sometimes Art just gets lazy and redraws a cover to represent an issue. What a weird timeline this comic has... There's a sweet moment between Sally and Sonic that... come on comic, decide whether they are dating or not? It's confusing and annoying to flipflop. Then Sonic and Tails fly off for adventures for a bit. Direction for the comic, maybe?

Finally, we round out this archive with an issue that starts with Sonic and Tails in jail with an echidna that looks exactly like Knuckles. Oh, I was supposed to read more Knuckles. Again, stupid library holds. Rob'o'the'Hedge is kinda adorable. Though he's a teal Sonic with a hood. This is obviously ye old medieval Mobius. There's a weird tickle torture scene that detracts from the reveal that the big bad is Antoine's roboticized dad :l Oh look, a bunch of stuff happens and now I have to read Knuckles to get the end of the story? Aaaaaarg. Following this mess, we get a story about King Acorn. Yeah :l Oh god... it's the weird magic source thing. Penders, why you do this? So the source is some weird gold pool that grands the Acorns power to see some of the future. It's weird and uncomfortable in upcoming issues. King Acorn is the worst.

Well that was a weird combo of stories that was largely unsatisfying. This era of Sonic comics was very chaotic, with Knuckles crossovers and Sonic and Tails hoping to new places every issue. I... am not looking forward to the next couple Archives...

Wow, this collection was a mixed bag. It starts with the introduction of the character Monkey Khan, who is obnoxious and boring. Then we get a really touching short story about discrimination that ends on a very dark note. King Acorn wants all the roboticized animals destroyed, but then he doesn't, but then he does. Sonic's feelings bounce around at random too which makes for some inconsistent characterizations and some jarring reading.

It then tells a story that's a conclusion to a Knuckles issue, and a flashback issue to catch everyone up. It's pretty pointless, but finally Sonic and Tales go off in search for adventure and things pick back up. The whole thing ends with a silly but excellent issue involving Sonic meeting his Robin Hood like counterpart. The story is everything this comic needs to be more often. Well written, well paced, and just good fun. There seems to be more and more of that as I go along, so enjoying the progression!

Except for the strange decision to introduce a "robot" version of the Monkey Magic main character, this totally lacks focus. Expects you to read many comics not in this book and also flat out skips plot points such that a heretofore unseen villain starts the book all-powerful with the heroes imprisoned, then the heroes have escaped (somehow?), then all of a sudden they're talking after the battle even though we didn't see the battle end?

In the post-Endgame world...the writers strted adding a slew of new characters to their universe. While most fans seemed to like Monkey Khan...eh, I'm not a big fan of him. The plot is still decent for a post-Endgame story, but fans know that the story plots and writing starts taking a weird and no-so-fun turn soon enough.
