For what the book is, easy hikes, it is great. I wish I would have bought the book on the full complement of hikes. This was purchased as a way to entertain a dog with about a 2 - 4-mile hike capacity in temperatures in the mid 70 F temperatures. I will be purchasing the book with more hikes as we can hike more strenuous trails solo or with our boxer on cooler days. The book was well done, and maps were perfect. Highly recommend this book and would chance recommending any in the series.

My copy is from 2001. We used this during our trip to Acadia NP. These authors know what an "easy" hike is! The longest trail is 4 miles, but is a paved, easy path. All are fairly level.
We hiked 12 of the 21 trails mentioned & loved them! Our favorites were the Ocean Path & the Beech Cliff Loop.
If you have a young family, or are otherwise unable to hike farther, this book is very helpful!

I am going straight to Amazon to put in my cart! I have picked it up before and now it is time to own it.

It shows you single simple to moderate hikes and also how you can join them together to make a longer and more challenging one. It is a small little book, great to toss in a backpack or purse.

Love it!

This book includes concise descriptions and detailed maps for easy-to-follow hikes at Acadia National Park.

Includes a walk along Ocean Path to see the pink granite cliffs, blue skies, and white surf.

Then from atop Cadillac Mountain, watch fog rolling in over Frenchman Bay below.

You can find casual hikes or even longer adventures.

These hikes are for everyone including families.

The book has mile-by-mile directions and clear trail maps.

It also has a trail finder for the best hikes for views, children, dogs, and ocean walks. GPS coordinates are included.

I will turn to this book for the best family hikes when we visit Acadia National Park in the future.
