This book is an excellent choice for kids who are struggling with reading, as it leverages their interest in video games to engage them in the story. The fact that it's part of a series is a bonus, allowing you to sustain their attention and motivation to continue reading. It's a great way to help them catch up on their reading level while fostering a love for reading!

This book could have used another run-through with a proofer, but my kid loved it because he understands everything you can do in Minecraft and he would tell me what he would do instead or explain stuff. He was very excited with the story and laughed a lot. The only thing I’d point out as a heads up is that they do have the word “badass” in it once, if that bothers you.
