Mia Kay Hmmm ... Harry Dresden's Chicago (from Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files) immediately comes to mind. I love Harry as a character, and I think it would be fun to see his adventures up close. However ... I would probably die there. It isn't for the clumsy or faint of heart. :-)

So perhaps I'm better suited for Georgette Heyer's Regency London seasons and her mysteries set in dark, drafty country houses. And what would I do there? Oh, I think I'd get into tons of well-mannered trouble.
Mia Kay Margaret Hale and John Thornton, because their relationship makes them each question, and ultimately adjust, their world views. They make each other better people.
Mia Kay I dreamed about a couple who had ended up together after meeting in a bar the heroine owned. Then it was a matter of finding the right characters and letting them be themselves - in the right plot.

From that dream to this book was a long, twisty path full of rewriting and learning, but I love the way it turned out.
Mia Kay By listening - to music, to other people, to my imagination ...
Mia Kay Write. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. But, at the same time, be committed to learning all you can about the craft of writing. Make your story yours, but make it the best possible story it can be.
Mia Kay I learn something new every day - either about the craft of writing or in researching a story. And I've met some wonderful people.
Mia Kay For me, writer's block happens most when I'm trying to force my characters to do something, well, out of character. In that case, the story screeches to a halt or - worse - gets dull. The best way to get out of it is to research my plot and go deeper into my characters' backstories.
Mia Kay I just completed Hard Silence, the second book in the Agents Undercover Series, and it's with my editor in preparation for its April 2016 release. So now I'm gearing up to start something totally new.

So many possibilities.
