DL Hammons wrote his first piece of fiction decades ago to impress a girl (he was moderately successful) and never looked back.

Growing up as a military brat, DL moved around quite a bit as a kid. After graduating from LSU and raising a family in several southern states, he now makes his home in Central Arkansas, where he has spent the last dozen years perfecting his voice, splitting his writing time between YA and Adult Mystery/Suspense. Besides being an author, DL claims that the most interesting thing about him is that he lacks a sense of smell. Other passions include (but are not limited to) his family (including his two mini-Australian Sheppards), music, movies, video gaming, and cool weather camping.

Twist by DL Hammons
This is my first read by this author and I truly liked what I read. Great for Freida McFadden fans (a little more cursing that what she does) but nice twists that I'm all about.
And guess what...he's an Arkansas author!

I hated saying goodbye to these characters, but that's the mark of a truly great series. I've loved watching them grow, overcome challenges, and build meaningful relationships throughout all three books. By the end, they felt like friends I'd be" Read more of this review »

"I like the premise of the book. However, a thriller it was not but a good mystery, yes. I wish we’d known a little more about Penelope. I felt like I really wasn’t invested in her murder as much I was the Snake River Killer’s murders. It was an easy " Read more of this review »

“As I made my way towards the kitchen I couldn’t help but notice how intricately decorated their house was. Every nook and cranny held some sort of homemade craftwork.”
D.L. Hammons, Prick

“Mark Twain once said, and I’m paraphrasing, ‘We never hear the Devil’s side. We have none but the evidence of the prosecution, and yet we have rendered the verdict. That is un-American’.”
D.L. Hammons, Prick

“we are all like those balloons, an inner part that is the real us and an outer layer that we allow everyone else to see. Most of the time we can get a good read on people because their outer layer is mostly transparent, allowing us to see what’s inside. But there are people who possess an outer layer that is less transparent, and sometimes even mirrored, so you only see—” “—what they want you to see,” Delta finished.”
D.L. Hammons, Prick

“Remember to always be yourself. Unless you suck.”
Joss Whedon

“The six rules of life.
1. Don't like something just because you think other people will like it, because they won't.
2. What you think is important isnt. What you think is unimportant is.
3. Lean into it.
4. Don't shit where you eat.
5. Most doors are closed so if you want them to open you need a cool knock.
6. Don't sleep with people who have more problems than you do.”

“In a good bookroom you feel in some mysterious way that you are absorbing the wisdom contained in all the books through your skin, without even opening them.”
Mark Twain

“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

“If I were a monster, I'd pretend to be human.”
