Bobby Muller is an American peace activist, decorated Marine veteran, and outspoken advocate for veterans' rights. Born in 1946 on Long Island, he grew up in Great Neck, New York, and earned a degree in business administration from Hofstra University in 1968. The same day, he was commissioned as a Marine officer and sent to Vietnam, where in 1969 he was paralyzed by a bullet wound during combat.
After returning home, Muller earned a law degree from Hofstra and became a tireless campaigner for peace and veteran support. He appeared in the 1974 documentary Hearts and Minds and founded Vietnam Veterans of America in 1978, followed by the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation in 1980.
