This comes up a lot and I still haven't quite made up my mind how best to approach it. Obviously (or maybe it's not obvious, I don't know) I do know the back story in some detail and the current plan is to let bits and pieces of it drip into the stories as we go along.

I rather like it that way, I think. Someone said recently, "It's like meeting real people. You don't find out everything all at once - you learn little bits every time you speak to them."

But you never know - there might be room for a biographical thriller of some sort. But not soon.(less)

I spent the first half of the year working on the new versions of Books 1 & 2 for my new publishers, Thomas & Mercer. The revised version of "A Quiet Life in the Country" is out on 4 October. The revised version of Book 2 (which is now called "In the Market for Murder") will be published on 20 December.

Once the work on those two was all done, I got back to work on Book 3. The plan is that we'll be publishing that in the spring (2017).

As for Book 4... I've already got plenty of ideas and I'll be starting work on it in a couple of weeks. I don't want to make any promises about a release for that yet, though. (less)
