Hot sex with Matt in between hot sex with Scott?.... When sentences become some sort of a road map to scout more sex scenes, you know the book is going to tumble somewhere. There is inner voice yelling – “ Bitch! don't start with that "we need another hot sex scene" shit again! You say that shit every time you pick up an erotica!” And then I wondered, why the fuck was I watching ‘the Boondocks’ while reading this book. A Pimp Named Slickback, is that my alter ego now? Whateve bitchless! Imma seeing some poker face cockiness or somethin’…..I’m going back to the road map. Couple stop signs later…..Ooooh, a St. Andrews Cross!......a G-spot!..... Krissy wants fire and ice. A devil and an angel. Calm and crazy. Right in my face! Big ass neon sign- ‘Polyamoury’! There’s the winning streak!! I recognize the game now. You need an intervention! Your arteries are so clogged with that BDSM shit. Slickback, shut the fuck! It’s “A Pimp Named Slickback”. Are you deaf? Now, take my pimp hand and pray to the Lord.

Kirsten has spent the last few years in a relationship with Alec. A relationship that wasn’t going anywhere. One that had grown stale and tired and just hadn’t ended when it should.

So she ended it. And then was ready to explore her new freedom. The problem was...

She was attracted to Scott. He was a long-time friend of hers. Scott was into BDSM which she was interested in. He was willingly to teach her what she wanted to learn. And even though Scott had relationships with other women, there was a chance that there would be something more.

or...

She was attracted to Matt. Matt’s apartment was in the building across from hers and he had a view into her bedroom window - something she had been taking full advantage. They got together on poker nights with the gang and even went running on Sunday mornings. They had never gotten together but now was their chance.

or...

Could she have both? Would that work? Could that work? What would it even mean?

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. If I had ever had someone close to me that wanted to learn about BDSM, I would want whoever they learned it from to be someone like Scott. He really was amazing.

In fact my only issue with the book was Scott’s use of “polyamory.” To quote Inigo Montoya, “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.” Having multiple relationships with multiple women is not a polyamory relationship - at least not to me.

I kept waiting for some sort of crash to happen but it won’t until...

I should have saved this for February's friends to lovers challenge. This was a lovely friends to lovers BDSM story. I have to admit, the beginning was so damn slow. For the first couple of BDSM scenes, I nearly fell asleep twice. Scott is a damn tease. Kris is a very very lucky woman with two hot hot men. This menage which originally started out as a sexual freedom from a lackluster ex-boyfriend became complicated. I loved how Kris was best friends with Scott and Matt first. (Side note, did anyone notice that Scott and Matt's initials were flipped? SM and MS? And did anyone else find it interesting that Scott was the Sadist and Matt more of a masochist? Hence the switching of the S and M for them? Or am I reading into this too much?)

I found Scott's ritual so damn hot. The wine and rolling up the sleeves was very sexy. I'm thinking of telling my DH so he too can come up with a ritual for us. Ms. Gallagher writes some really sensual and sexy BDSM scenes. They are authentic and I can't wait to nudge my DH to read some of them so he can get a good idea of what I'd like to play with next.

This story was an all around smexy read. The poly part to it was kind of difficult to resolve and I didn't feel as the end really resolved it. It just put it off for later. While Scott made valid points, it still felt like a big pink elephant in the room. I still don't understand why they don't move in together. I would have done so after a year. That's just me.

I'm impressed with Ms. Gallaghers writing of BDSM and I can't wait to read more of her work. She's still kind of new to me even though I've been a follower of her m/m writing. She's now added to my list of authors I'd definitely recommend.

I started this Book because I needed something to overcome my "Kate and Curran" Book Hang-over and a hot mmf menage seemed like the right thing. Blut this really disappointed me: there is no real menage in there. This story is just a lot of sex with different men but nothing in it is really about a relationship

The characters were ok but the lack of story and the nearly non-existend development of feelings left me hanging.

Three words that describe this book:

1 - Sex
2 - Sex
3 - Sex

I just LOVE reading Lauren Gallagher. She does real-world and honest, believable characters better than anyone, IMO. Plus, she's on the tippy-top of my list for doing the sexy time best, too.

This book was definitely enjoyable (just ask my boyfriend), but there wasn't much more than SEX going on throughout the entire thing. Kristen ends a four year relationship and decides to take her friend Scott up on his offer to introduce her into the BDSM lifestyle. After all, her lackluster sex life has her all pent up inside. As he starts training her to be his submissive, she can't help but give her sexy neighbor Matt a show... because she knows that he's watching when her and Scott are playing.

So Kristen is being dominated by one man, and found a voyeur in another. One thing (sex) leads to another (sex), and suddenly she's fallen for two. What's a girl to do??

I'll give you one guess:

I've enjoyed her other books better, I won't lie. But both of these men are soooooo hot. You can see why the girl does what she does. And, even though there are probably 15-20 erotic scenes in this book, they're always a little different, so it never gets boring.

If you're looking for something that is sure to rev your libido, then here it is!

HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT. Fans herself

This book is hotter than hell! The sex was scorching, the scenes were so well written and descriptive, I felt like I was acutally there. This book pushed my limits, just like the characters, and left me questioning my own boundaries. I could cave in, easily be pursuaded into something of this nature...with Scott by myside, oh yeah...I could do this!

Kristen is introduced into the world of BDSM by her best friend, Scott. He walks her slowly through becoming a Sub and also about being a Dom. She was undeniably exquisite and I wish I could BE her! Pain and pleasure are an awfully daring but tempting combination, especially told by her point of view. I loved her curiosity and willingness to try anything.

Scott was amazing as an instructor. A total tease but he was also very passionate, he had my limbs quivering. He makes the elements of BDSM seem so tantalizing...I would absolutely fall under the spell of Scott Moore! He had my heart, my soul, and my complete submission.

Now, moving on to Matt. I fell for him immediately. I loved his shyness, then loved watching him completely fall apart with Kristen. I craved his touch and wouldnt have minded him watching me through the window...or participating. There was so much build-up between them, I just knew as soon as they got togther that it would be explosive...and he did NOT disappoint! He could easily have me on my knee's within seconds!

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone with a curiosity about BDSM and also to anyone who loves smut as much as I do...where taboo or unconventional doesnt make you blush or revolt.

Ms. Gallagher has a way of conjuring such real characters, going through such real emotions and situations.

This book was a really interesting journey of Kristen, leaving her boyfriend of four years and taking up with both of her male best friends separately. There had always been an undercurrent of attraction with them, but none of them had ever crossed the friend line because Kristen was in a relationship. After she kicks her boyfriend to the curb, she approaches her friend Scott about learning about BDSM. He agrees to take her on as his sub, if for no other reason than he doesn't want her to learn from a stranger and potentially have a bad Dom. In the meantime, Kristen's voyeuristic relationship with her best friend and neighbor, Matt, turns into a physical relationship. And after a while, what was supposed to be just sex turns into something much, much more.

It was very interesting seeing Kristen go through learning about being a sub from Scott. I loved that Scott could sort of turn his "Dom" on and turn it off at will. I loved that in a short while, just the process of giving him the glass of wine transformed him from Scott to Master for Kristen. The way she felt made me think of the "ka-thunk" that Karla felt whenever Adam went all Dom on her in Nobody's Hero.

While I can't pretend to understand falling in love with someone who you know is in love with at least one other person, I can appreciate that Kristen came to her own conclusions and was able to embrace it. It didn't come easy... she was truly messed up about it. What I don't quite understand is how Kristen didn't feel the least bit jealous. I don't understand how Scott and Matt weren't jealous of each other or the time Kristen spent with the other. Matt became jealous, but with how they cherished her when it was still "just sex"... I don't understand how there was absolutely no jealousy. But I suppose that's why I'm not in a polyamorous relationship. I was never the kind of girl who could keep feelings out of sex. I almost envy that Kristen could and she was doing all of this because she wanted to experience explosive sex, not because she thought she'd find love.

All in all, a really enjoyable book. Thankfully, there wasn't the same angst as with Damaged Goods, but it was still very realistic, very compelling... oh, and VERY hot. Lots of hot sex. Odd, though, that I thought the sex was better when Scott was NOT Kristen's master... when they were making love it was so much better. And the sex with Matt was always hot -- they always acted like they were going to die if they weren't coupled within the next minute. Huge chemistry between both pairs.

Ms. Gallagher is becoming an auto-buy author for me. Great story.

I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about this one...

I really loved the chemistry between Scott and Kristen. The way their relationship evolves into something more than friendship was great. I could definitely feel the emotional connection and chemistry between the two of them and see the progression of them falling in love. On the other hand, I didn't get that same feeling of emotion between her and Matt, and their relationship seemed more lust driven than love to me. I think the reason behind this was the amount of the book that was spent concentrating on the BDSM aspects with Scott that gave them a better foundation. I just felt like Matt was kind of a secondary character in the story, and I would have liked to see more involvement between the three of them for me to believe that a relationship between them all could work. Unfortunately if Matt was taken out of the book, then this book would have been a much better read. Positive side is that I really did enjoy the dynamics between Kristen and Scott, so that alone makes the book worth reading. :)

Really enjoyed it. Very hot friends turned lovers story, except it's one girl and two sets of male friends. It's anything but tawdry. A love story that shows how play can change under your feet. The resolution was brushed over, imo, and that explains the one star deduction.

Ooops- should have read this first before "Reconstructing Meredith" because this is a fine introduction to Scott (the super-bestest Dom I have ever read about) and Kirsten and Matt.

Essentially, Kirsten wants to learn how to be a submissive because she realises that in prior relationships she has tried to direct the men to do what she wants (like tie her up), and gotten nowhere. Scott is her best friend and into BDSM, so she bites the bullet and asks him to teach her the ropes (*sorry*).

At the same time, she notices that Matt, her neighbour and who she goes jogging with at the weekend, watches her through their windows (OK apartments fairly near to each other so that bedroom windows overlook).

So Kirsten becomes an exhibitionist, Matt a voyeur, and Scott invites both to play together. No actual menage happens apart from the fact that all three are together, but their relationships are separate. No M/M or M/F/M, but that doesn't detract from the build-up of love between them. A really good story.

More porn than plot (mptp) but that's to be expected since this is the story of the sexual liberation of Kristen Locke. She's frustrated with her more than boring sexual relationship with her boyfriend of four years. When he pushes for them to move in together, she knows it's time to them to part ways. She's ready to explore her wants and desires and who better to help her than her two close friends - Matt, her voyeuristic neighbor and Scott, a polyamourous Dom. What starts out as just a wild time of experimentation turns complicated when feelings creep in and threaten to ruin friendships and the possibility of keeping love.

The story is smoking HOT, no question about it! For the first time I didn't root for just one guy. Even I'd do my damnedest to keep both Matt and Scott. Especially Scott ;)

Read this book before reading Reconstructing Meredith.

Totally a guilty-pleasure 5 stars, but yeah - 5 stars.

The chemistry between Matt and Kristen totally made me overlook his Jersey Shore look - and thankfully it was only described in detail once.

And the relationship that grew between Scott and Kristen - totally different, but just as unffy.

When I thought I wanted her to pick one, something would happen where I wanted her to end up with the other. While the ending is somewhat predictable, I don't even care because it made me happy :)

More like 2.5 stars. I definitely don't think this book got a fair crack from me because Ive hit peak BDSM saturation. I was finishing it last night thinking that it had all the hallmarks of pretty good erotica (not too cringey, varied and dirty talk!) But I felt nothing for the characters or the scenes and in a book that's 80/90% sex, that's going to prove pretty fatal to its chances of getting a high rating from me.

Enjoyable BDSM poly erotic romance. And I do mean erotic. Lots of smoking hot sex, so if that ain't your jam...

This is one of Lauren Gallagher/LA Witt's older works (I think the original came out seven years ago), which was interesting to read, since I'm more familiar with the flow of her newer books. I can see the evolution her writing has taken over the years. Her writing today is a little more poised and sharp than is was here, but it's still enjoyable and very very readable. The wit is the same, and the connection between the characters.

It's a long novel and kind of packs in a lot into one book. There's a part of me that wanted to know more, but that probably would have required spreading the plot out over more than one book, and man, that's also difficult to do.

It's MFM (not MMF) and focused on Kristin (it's from her POV). I liked that, because it's not that often I read a fairly strong woman who knows exactly what she likes and wants.

Both Matt and Scott are likeable hot men, too.

Light Switch by Lauren Gallagher

I liked this story for a couple of reasons:

It was a full length novel (36 Chapters) so no skimping on the reading and therefore worth the money spent. It was well written, even the back and forth between Scott/Kristen and Matt/Kristen scenes didn’t deter from the story. It just kept me on my toes.

This story read like an indoctrination into the BDMS lifestyle for Kristen. It was a different kind of BDSM story than I’m used to reading, so it broadened my horizons a bit.

The BDSM scenes when played out didn’t have the usual dialog between the Master and the sub. No demeaning or degrading name calling at least not much anyway, which I have a difficult time with anyway. There were a couple of ‘slut’ comments but it wasn’t a constant refrain and it sounded like it was said in a light hearted fashion. Also Scott referred to Kristen by name during these scenes which I really liked. It’s just me but when he referred to her by name I think it made them more connected. When there were others involved I felt the connection because Scott used her name unlike what I come to think of as the generic sounding name sub. I fell for Scott a little at a time because of this but I fell for him all the way after Kristen’s panic attack. Scott’s caring for her was so tender and loving.

I liked Matt too and his relationship with Kristen. They had a more traditional friend to lover’s courtship. The way they couldn’t keep their hands off each other was hot and sexy.

What I couldn’t wrap my head around in this story is the poly angle. I’m use to reading about ménage with three or more people involved who are committed to each other exclusively.

Scott has other subs but the one that confused me the most was Amy. He loves Amy and she’s married. I didn’t see a relationship beyond friendship between Scott and Amy’s husband. It was like Scott and Amy were having a husband approved affair. Amy’s husband can’t/won’t give her the dominance/whipping she needs so she gets it from Scott. Can this kind of relationship continue long term? Is it just sex and if so doesn’t Scott want more? What about family, children? A loving relationship is more right?

Scott and Matt love Kristen and she loves them. The relationship between all three is again different. It’s more of a friendship between Scott and Matt and they see Kristen almost always individually versus all three together. It’s like she dating two men and occasionally they all get together. Long term will they all live together? What about family and children? What about Amy?

So many questions for me to ponder?????

This book is on one of the lists "what to read after fifty" but it didn't have anything like the same "feel" as fifty to me. It does have BDSM elements in it but the story revolves around the threesome of Kristen, Scott and Matt. After a break up with a man Kristen had been involved with for four years, she turns to one of her best friends, Scott, to teach her about BDSM. Scott is a Dom, and is more than willing to show Kristen "the ropes". During their lessons Kristen makes sure that the blinds are open so Matt (her neighbor that lives across the street) can watch her and Scott have sex. This goes on a few times then Matt gets up his courage to ask Kristen out. The sexual tension between Matt & Kristen can be cut with a knife and they soon end up in a sexual relationship as well. This was a pretty good book. Lots and lots of steamy scenes throughout the book. I guess I just find it against nature to profess love to someone but be okay knowing they are having sex with someone else, which is probably why I can't give this book more than 3 stars. The writing was good, somewhat predictable at times but just a little hard for me to grasp when you supposedly love someone but are not possessive or jealous if that someone is having sex with someone else.

OK, this one was really great, for several reasons. I appreciated the fact that the new BDSM relationship between Scott and Kristen moved at a slower pace than those in most books. Obviously, within the confines of a novel, there is only so much time to create one, but this one wasn't rushed and I most certainly didn't lose interest waiting for it to happen.

I liked the glimpse into the characters' thoughts as the story progressed. There wasn't a lot of back story, and in this case it wasn't really a big deal because you got your insight in other ways.

The descriptive scenes involving all the characters (HOT!) had a decent intensity level. :) I love a book that makes me feel something.

An overall good read...one I will definitely recommend and one I will certainly read again.

This is a fun friends-with-benefits sexy story. A little kinky. A little free love. It had the potential to dig into polyamory, the plot certainly pointed in that direction, but the resolution was un-fulfilling. Polyamory is a consensual arrangement. There was too much discomfort lingering in the conclusion between the three MCs, which left me unsettled. The triad doesn't have to ride off into the sunset holding hands to give me a satisfying feeling, but I closed the book imagining their future rife with jealousy, insecurity, and chest pounding. In other words, a short future. Nevertheless, it was a pleasurable read and I'll probably pick up Reconstructing Meredith, the book that follows this one.

Well there certainly was a lot going on in this story. When Kristen dumps her boyfriend of four years she didn't wait long to get her kink on with not one but two different men, both of them good friends first. Scott introduces her to bdsm and trains her as a sub, at first anyway, :) Then Matt, her voyeur friend from across the alley from her bedroom window gets physical with her as well, Kristen is smitten with both of them, which leads to some hard choices for all three.

This bdsm story had a little of everything thrown in the mix, which not only made things complicated but also very hot. Very interesting and enjoyable read.

This one is hard for me to rate even though I had issue with it for most of the book. My issues cleared up once everyone started to finally talk about what's was going on. I loved Matt through it all and he alone kept me going to the end. Scott was a good teacher, I did appreciate that. He's thoughtful and patient but I still never really believed he loved Krissy. Perhaps the fact that the whole book is from Kristen's POV is where my doubts come from.

Regardless, I did enjoy a lot of this book and will read the follow up, if only, and mostly, to see where they end up. 3.5 stars

When I had finished the book I really couldn't say that I'd liked it -- for me, it really was "Just OK," which is why I gave it just 2 stars. Although the sex could be pretty steamy at times, I never sensed much depth of feeling between Kristen, Scott, and Matt. It's told in first person, so you hear a lot of Kristen telling what she feels, but you never know why...and you only get a second-hand sense of what Scott or Matt feels. Even the ending is vaguely unsatisfying; nothing really gets resolved, just extended.

I'm am only rating this two stars because for me it was just okay. Not much romance or development of the relationship between any of the characters. Lots and lots of sex, but honestly that was all that developed between them.

After a while I started skiming sex scenes. Yeah I started skimming the sex.

I loved Damaged Goods by Lauren Gallagher by this author. This one just didn't work for me. I need emotion with my sex.

I don't know what it was about this book that didn't do it for me. I usually love books with open relationships and the beginning of this one did grab me, but I think in the middle it drug out a little more than I wanted it to. I had to struggle to keep going and I had no idea where the end was actually go. This book has some true poly relationships and some smokin' menage scenes.

HOLY. SHIT. THAT is the hottest BDSM book I have read yet. That poor girl with four years of flavorless sex sure did make up for it with Scott and Matt. This book has something for everything...and when you get to the part where the title comes in? Your mouth will be wide open!

Amazing. SO glad I borrowed it!!!!

This was just ok. The steamy scenes were pretty dang steamy but I never connected with the characters and I didn't find myself cheering them on for a HEA. It either needed to be darker or shorter for me to give it a higher rating. Now that being said I've been on a YA and dystopian binge this month so that may have something to do with it lol.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a good read. Its a great example of how you can start with play and it develops into something more. I think that the situation presented in this book is unlikely to turn out as well in real life but, that's why I love fiction.
