THOUGHTS
This was another sexually charged story from the 'Fairy Tales Unleash' series by the author. This fairy tale was based on, Cinderella, with a twist. The opening scene sets the pace for this story, because Rowyn and Darius has a one nightstand. With both characters seeing each other months later, under different circumstances, brings the Cinderella formula to life. Darius was so... sexy, and seeing Rowyn, again was a seduction with words on Darius's part. Only he can talk dirty and make it seem effortless. Rowyn, seem to have a stern personality around others, expect her mother, and stepfamily. She always felt like the odd person out in her family, and has to deal with issues that occur. Rowyn and Darius’s chemistry physically and verbally was amazing and does not disappoint the reader. This story was a little shorter than 'Loving the Beast’; however, the way the story flowed, it was not noticeable.
This story was sexy, explicit, and cute, with a concept that may have been used many times, but will not disappoint.

Rowyn and Darius's story.
I saw Delaney Diamond's review of this book and the idea that there could be another take on how to view the story of Cinderella via one of the wicked step-sisters was a must read for me!!
Yes its under 100 pages but it was such a great read. I absolutely loved it. I love how Darius stayed on Rowyn when she tried to pull that disappearance act on him for a second time.
Cindy = Cinderella was a first class "B". I disliked her with a passion especially when she tries to humiliate Rowyn.

Rowyn is a workaholic (but also damn good at her job). 6 months ago she had a hot and heavy one night stand with Darius. It was so good, she hasn't been able to forget him, but is sure she won't ever see him again. Well........she is shocked when she goes to her parents home (her mother, stepfather, stepsister) and there he is. It turns out, when they met, they had talked about a lot, but not what they did for a living. It turns out her stepfather wants to merge companies with Darius. And she didn't know about it.
Even though this was short, it was nicely paced with plenty of background on Rowyn (and her horrible family) and Darius (and his issues with his dad). I liked (and could see) Rowyn and Darius together. Their shared parental issues helped them bond. The epilogue was needed to see where they ended up.

The epilogue provided the HEA, but it would have been nice to witness these monumental event instead of just being told about them.

Rowyn Jeong tries so hard to please her mother and stepfather, but nothing she does seems to make them love her. Knowing that she is fighting a losing battle she decides to concentrate on her career which also brings ridicule from her family. The only time she had completely let go of the tight control she has over her life was during the one night stand that she had six months ago.
Darius Fiore could not get the woman he spent one night with out of his head. He had little hope of ever seeing her again until she walked in and her parents introduced her to him. Darius knew that he would not let her slip away, this time he was holding on to her for good.
Stroke of Midnight grabbed my attention from the very first paragraph, as the sex between Rowyn and Darius was described in vivid detail. The author set such an incredibly hot scene that the reader was panting along with the characters. The chemistry between Darius and Rowyn virtually jumped off the page, surrounding the reader as it pulled you in.
Even though the chemistry was hot, the story surrounding these two characters was interesting as well. Naima Simone took the classic fairy tale of Cinderella, and put a modern day twist on it. I loved how she opened each chapter with a quote from Cinderella then followed it by a quote from Rowyn. She made these characters so charismatic that you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. She also showed the dynamic of the evil stepsister, an uncaring mother and detached stepfather.
Stroke of Midnight was an excellent story, however it felt so familiar to me, I knew I had read this story before. So, checking my archived books on my kindle, I found another book by Naima Simone entitle ‘A Perfect Fit’ which turned out to be the exact same story.
Whether you read it as Stroke Of Midnight or A Perfect Fit I am sure that you will enjoy this story as much as I did.

This is my first by Naima Simone, and I have to say I'm impressed. A Perfect Fit is really a perfect fit. This is a modern day fairy tale, without your average hero & heroin.
One thing I loved, was the little quotes before each chapter. The "Welcome back, buddy" had me laughing out loud.
I really likedd the couple. They were very sexy and very lovable. I think this book can and should be described as erotic romance. There's enough of both for the romantic and the perv in me to love it.
I'm rating 4 solid stars for A Perfect Fit, and will for sure watch what this author from now on!

This author has become one of my favorites because she always delivers. The intensity and emotions she infuses into her books make them page turners. This one is also a winner.
It's a modern day twist on the Cinderella story with lots of humor and wicked-hot sex. I felt so sorry for Rowyn and was glad her awful family got their comeuppance in the end.
There is lots of explicit language, including a multitude of f-bombs. I think the author's writing is so riveting and engaging, some of the language could actually be left out.
Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to the next book in the Fairy Tales Unleashed series.

I LOVED THIS!
The story was so good! I was so happy with the story I loved it. Just read it. The spice was amazing, the storyline was good. I relate too much to a mother who dishes out cutting remarks. Sometimes you've got change the scenery. Darius never forgot the woman he'd slept with and when he told he'd searched for her?? I was shook. I related too much to her moment of surprise at his confession. I love that with Darius Rowyn felt safe enough to open up and let the healing flow. This was a great at short story and I will definitely read the next one, FIVE STARS!!

Nothing better than the ugly step sister getting the guy! And standing up for herself, becoming her own just adds icing to the cake.
Rowyn has had an ugly life. With a family who would rather her not exist and a step-dad/boss who gives her zero credit and zero consideration. It's fun to watch her icy personality thaw and come to life.
The story starts off with steam , in the middle you have more heat and you end with an inferno. Very well written!

Hot, Steamy and oh so good! Good read about a one night that became so much more! This story was told by two pov and it did have a happy ending and a glimpse of the future. This story was more sexy time and not a very detailed story. Overall thought it was a great story and the h finally stood up for herself!

different look at Cinderella
Rowan was strong and determined and only asked to be loved. She had a sad story that lead her through life. Darius was the one night stand that was about to shake up her whole world.

This is my second novella by Naima and both have fit a ton of plot and steam into the very short book.
These characters were very like-able. It opens with a steamy scene, so you know it’s going to be good lol. They had good chemistry. I’m glad they got their HEA.

The lyrical writing style of Naima Simone always captivates me. This short (less than 100 pages) reimagining of the Cinderella story is refreshing and very enjoyable. Ms. Simone writes compelling characters and steamy sex scenes. Well done!

Wow! I can’t get enough of Naima Simone’s books. This fairy tale reminded me of Cinderella, except Rowyn only had one stepsister, Cindy. The stepfather, Daniel and the evil unloving mother, Pamela are all the dysfunctional family. Darius is the Prince and Rowyn, his princess forever.

Rowyn has developed a thick skin over the years. Her mother resents her because of her failed marriage and her step-father only has love and affection for his daughter. She knows Daniel will never love her so she sought his love the only way she knows how, through business. She has worked her butt off to make her division number one, yet he still over looks her. She just wants to be loved and accepted for who she is.
Darius has long outgrown one night stands but there is something about the beautiful Rowyn that speaks to him. They spent an unforgettable night together that neither has gotten over six months later. Darius is in town regarding a possible merger with Rowyn’s step-father but he’s more interested in a merger with her.
Rowyn hasn’t forgotten the night she spent with Darius; she just never expected to see him again. Now he is standing in her parent’s living room talking about a possible merger that will most likely result in her losing her job. She can’t afford to have a repeat of that night but it’s all she can think about. Darius has other ideas and plans on making sure that they have plenty more nights together.
Rowyn is brisk and cold to most people. She has had to hide behind her mask for so long, it just becomes second nature. All she has ever wanted was for family to love her but she has accepted that they will never be a loving family. She desires Darius like no other and she can’t forget about their one night stand. She wants more from him but doesn’t believe in fairy tale endings until he convinces her that she can have her own happily ever after.
Darius is super sexy and the two of them are good together. I love how her Prince Charming comes to her rescue and the scene with her family was priceless. I think the epilogue was my favorite; it gave us a glance at the future of Darius and Rowyn.
This was the second installment in the Fairy Tales Unleashed series. Each story I have read by this author just gets better and better. I can’t wait to see what she is going to come up with next. Overall I really enjoyed this short story and give A Perfect Fit 4½ Flaming Hearts.

I enjoyed the story but I was had a hard time connecting with Rowan. There was really no description of her except for being half Korean.

From the start
This book captures you from the start. On fire. Hot as h_ll but with a great story line. Unfortunately a short read but still satisfying. The only bad review is done inconsistency in stepsister features and the band that Rowyn likes.
