The mask has come off, the closet door opened, and the acceptance in revelation has begun...
Thor sent Bobby home from Abyss with a few conditions. Have the hard conversations with those closest to him and arrive at Thor’s home, midnight, the following weekend. He’s been instructed not to call, not to email, not to contact Thor in any way. Simply do as told or...not.
Bobby comes to Thor a different man, changed somewhat for having come out of the closet to his parents and his best friend. The weight of his secret longings has been lifted and his desire to begin a relationship full of exploration and submission with a man is within his grasp. All it takes is following Thor’s orders, submitting to Thor’s rules, offering himself up to Thor’s dominance.
Can Bobby truly give over his tightly held onto control to the one man who drives him to his knees? Can Thor look beyond Bobby’s womanizer reputation to the longing for acceptance within?
Find out in, Revealed, the third installment in Lissa Matthews’ Masked series.

THIS IS A COMBINED REVIEW FOR: *Masked *Unmasked *Revealed *Thankful That makes up the Masked series
So a little BDSM never hurt anyone right? I enjoyed the idea behind this little short read. Who cares if it’s all to be taken with a pinch of salt? It’s like snagging a piece of chocolate behind someone’s back. Gives you a secret little smile to yourself. I enjoyed it for what it was. It’s way too short to start analyzing and pointing to happenings. Have fun and move on.
I am loving this short series! These guys are great together. This book has everything that I loved about the first two, but is a little bit longer. Thor and Bobby are continuing their relationship, taking things sort of slow and learning about each other. I definitely want more of these guys. Had to drop a 1/2 star due to the multiple typos which distracted me from the story at times.
Exactly the kind of erotic story I love. I would have liked to see more of them, to see Bobby's training, to see Thor and Bobby at Bobby's parents home for Thanksgiving, Thor remembering his boy that he should be polite with him even there, to see Thor and Bobby at the Fetish Club, and so on. It could be much hotter than this book and the 2 previous about them.
It's a shame this author didn't publish Masked, Unmasked & Revealed as one book. It's also a shame that the editing wasn't better, especially in Revealed. There's a lot of potential here and I'm not sure if the abrupt ending of this book signifies another book in the works or whether Bobby and Thor's story is done. There's plenty of story left to tell and I was really looking forward to Bobby bringing Thor (what a silly name) home for Thanksgiving to meet his conservative parents.
The most egregious error in this book is the use of baby oil as a lubricant. NEVER use baby oil or Vaseline with a condom. Baby oil is NEVER a better choice than water-based lubricants. NEVER. Authors writing about gay sex need to do their homework. Everything you could ever want to know can be found in the Gayology101 threads in the M/M Romance Group.
I hope there's another book, that's well researched and well edited. All the elements are there, interesting characters finding their way through the early stages of a D/s relationship, a twist on the usual power dynamic with the Dom being a less educated construction foreman and the sub being a successful attorney, Thor's unconventional look with the long hair and kilts and Bobby living in a world of conservative haircuts and power suites...lots and lots of potential here.
In this final installment of Thor and Bobby’s relationship, Bobby was given a set of instructions to follow in the last book. A week has passed and Bobby arrives at Thor’s house having discussed he was gay with his friend Aidn and his parents. Bobby is ready to begin this relationship with all his heart, but he does have a few reservations about being submissive to Thor’s dominant. Thor claims Bobby and then all the self-doubt starts to form in Bobby. Mostly he just keeps thinking about everything and getting lost in his own world, making Thor have to drag him out of that world and back to reality.
The final book is a little longer than the first two and does have more than one scene and one point of view. You don’t meet any other characters in this one. Everything takes place in Thor’s home over the course of two days.
Again, I want to stress how classy Lissa Matthews writing is in this series. She takes a subject that is not welcomed in most mainstream homes and makes it to be what it is meant to be: two people loving each other. There is a BDSM element to this book, but it doesn’t over power things. They are both growing and learning what they want, and Lissa allows their characters to do that without rushing the relationship to get it into one book. It doesn’t take long to read and was a fun quick way to spend an afternoon learning about two manly characters.
As reviewed on kinkybookreviews.com: Now I hear a lot of readers say "Oh, romance books are so easy! I can write those!" Well, I've read a few of the books written by those people and sorry, I have to say that it's NOT that easy. Unfortunately, I say Lissa Matthews is one of the authors to blame here. I swear, she makes it look so simple to write absolutely AWESOME books!!! Revealed is a truly awesome book.
Now here's a funny part. This book is the first one where there is actual sex between Thor and Bobby. However, Revealed isn't as hot as the other two books scene wise. Instead, it is all about the dance that occurs at the beginning of every serious relationship. The discussion of expectations between a Dom and a sub. There's still plenty of heat, but there's also the sweet, wonderful interactions between the characters. I got to learn quite a bit more about Thor and Bobby beyond their attraction to each other.
This book gets a definite read from me, especially if you have read the previous two. I know that originally this was planned to be the last book in the series. However, I'm hoping it doesn't stop here. I'd like to see a HEA for Thor and Bobby and while they are on their way, they aren't quite there yet.
This is the final book in the Masked series. Or should I say, the final chapter in the Masked novella? Having now read all 3 shorts, I would have to say that the overall package is disappointing. The story goes from two closeted men to full TPE with very little real depth or character development. After doing a bit of a search around I discovered that this series is a spin off from another book the author has written. This may explain some of the shallow character development & lack of back story, but any short story or sequel should be a stand-alone title unless specifically marketed otherwise. In addition to the above issues, the author made a major faux pas by having Thor use baby oil as an anal lubricant. Petroleum-based products should NEVER be used as a sexual lubricant. Especially not with a condom! Having said that, the fact that by their third time having sex they were doing breath-play & going bareback, I should just assume the characters have the intelligence of gnats who wouldn't object to a raging infection in their nether regions. Save yourself 30 minutes & $3 & avoid this head-ache inducing bilge.
Robert has revealed himself to Thor and Thor takes the knowledge of who he is well. But Thor gives him an ultimatum to see just how serious Bobby is about beginning a relationship. Bobby must come out to the people important to him particularly their mutual friend Aidn who features in another book related to the series. Then Bobby must come to Thor and they will begin a D/s relationship that they both want though neither have been in one before.
This segment fulfills the promise of the expectation of the first two stories in the series. The way this story was told with its hesitations, disappointments, humor, passionate and sweet moments made it worth it when I wondered what would happen when they finally began a relationship.
I really love the 2 MC's in this book(and the ones that follow it). This does not end on what you could call a cliffhanger; but neither is the book the complete story of Bobby and Thor's relationship. To complete the relationship(as far as it goes) you need to read: Masked, Unmasked, Revealed, and Thankful in that order. I love this series and wish there was even more to it, not because it is not clear that the men are in a committed relationship by the end of Thankful but just because I would like to see more of their lives together.
I read masked, unmasked and (3rd book) all at one time. I enjoyed the three books. my only complaint is that they really could have been one book. I do not know why there were put out in threes but I know I would not have been happy if I had to have waited for the next book. So as an individual book I would say I would give it a 3 star, but as all three books togethere I would give it 5 stars.
While I liked the series very much the final one had a ton of typos. One or two are okay, but there were just too many in my opinion. I loved the connection these two had. Very sexy and hot! I would recommend for sure!
This entire series is quick - the first two stories are particularly short. This has a bit more substance. As a whole, I liked it better than individually.
