TEMPT ME She’s a temptation he can’t resist…
Roxanne ‘Rocki’ Monroe’s life is full of secrets and hidden heartaches. Cole Stanton would love to heal her pain and chase away the ghosts of her past, but she’s just a complication he doesn’t have room for in his life.
Or so he thinks.
It doesn’t take Cole long to realize he’s more than willing to let temptation get the best of him, more than happy to deal with complications if that’s what it takes to get her.
What he has and what he needs are two different things…and what he needs is Rocki.
BEG ME Beg me…there had been a time when those words made her burn with desire. But now, there was only fear.
Once, Tania Sinclair’s life was almost perfect…But a couple of tragedies later, she’s barely holding it together. A car accident took away her husband, and an attack from somebody she should have been able to trust has shaken not only her confidence, but it’s also stripped away her fantasies and even made it painful to look back on her memories of her husband without fear.
Two years after her attack, Tania is determined to take her life back and the first step is taking back herself…her fantasies, her dreams, her memories. There’s only one person she can trust to do it, too. One person she wants enough…Drake Bennett, her husband’s best friend.
Warning: This book involves light bondage play, rape fantasy & role-playing. The acts between the hero & heroine are consensual, but they may not be ideal for all readers…

Bio...
Shiloh Walker has been writing since she was a kid. She fell in love with vampires with the book Bunnicula and has worked her way up to the more...ah...serious vampire stories. She loves reading and writing anything paranormal, anything fantasy, and nearly every kind of romance. Once upon a time she worked as a nurse, but now she writes full time and lives with her family in the Midwest.
‘Tempt Me’ is a story about Rocki Monroe, young widow, designer of lingerie and owner of a lingerie shop. It has been five years since she lost her police officer husband and during all that time she’s never met a man who could interest her. That changes when Cole Stanton walks into her shop with his rather nasty fiancée Mara. One look at this man has Rocki unsettled, but he is not a free man and therefore out-of-bounds. Cole Stanton knows his relationship with Mara is not what it used to be and not what he wants for the rest of his life. It takes meeting the very sexy Rocki Monroe though to fully open his eyes, recognise what sort of a person Mara really is and end his engagement. When Cole and Rocki get together sparks fly and the heat is palatable, but with Rocki’s violent stalker returning after an absence of years and Mara not so easily disregarded, the two will need more than just the attraction between them to get and stay together.
‘Beg Me’ is Tania Sinclair’s story. Three years ago her husband and soul-mate died in an accident, an event that left her heartbroken. A year later her former husband’s twin-brother broke into her house in the middle of the night and used her sexual fantasies, the memories she still had of her husband, against her during a violent attack. Now, two years later, on the anniversary of that attack Tania is still broken. She used to love being made to beg for sex, now she can’t even fantasize about her husband anymore without the memory turning him into his evil twin. But Tania is ready to take back her life and her sexual fantasies and the only person she trusts enough to make this happen is Drake Bennett, her husband’s best friend. What Tania doesn’t know is that Drake has loved her and lusted for her for as long as he’s known her. And while he’d do anything for her, giving her the help she needs might just break him. These were two enjoyable and well written stories. Although neither story is long – in fact, I wouldn’t have complained if especially ‘Trust Me’ had been longer – they do provide the reader with a good background story and enough character description to make the reader connect with the main protagonists. Although both these stories are examples of erotic fiction, there are clear differences between them. ‘Trust Me’ has relative little and rather run of the mill sexual relations between its two main characters. Their relationship is steamy and hot but not anything you wouldn’t find a lot of modern romances. ‘Beg Me’ on the other hand is far more risqué and explicit. Because the main character’s fantasies centre around rape-scenarios this is the sort of story that could leave some readers feeling a bit uncomfortable. On the other hand, both stories put the sexual scenes in enough plausible contexts to make it easy for the reader to believe in what’s happening on the page. The only reservation I have in that regard is that due to the relative shortness of the stories things developed a bit too fast for me. Overall I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed these two stories and that I will definitely have a look at other novels/stories by this author. She writes a good story with interesting characters and exciting descriptions; what’s not to like?

MY THOUGHTS
Taken one at a time both of these are delicious reads by one of my favorite romance authors Shiloh Walker. From her paranormal romance to her romantic suspense thrillers there is nothing that I have not enjoyed that Ms. Walker has penned, her characters leap off the pages and make themselves at home like longtime friends and the stories that they are a part of have so many levels within them that they are more than capable of keeping your attention for an entire day of reading one after another as they are like potato chips in the fact you cannot stop after reading only one!
Both novellas showcase strong women, women who have been to hell and back with the loss of their beloved husbands and the emotional toll that loss took.
In Tempt Me Rocki Monroe is the main character, and what a character she is! Full figured, flamboyant and totally feminine to the core she also has a spine of steel and a heart of gold to go with it. When her husband died five years back Rocki never thought she would once again have her "heart stop" when a man walked in the room, until the day Cole Stanton strolled into her lingerie shop no man had done so besides her husband. The only problem Cole was with his fiance at the time, off limits and out of bounds but oh my did Rocki notice Cole and Cole absolutely noticed Rocki!
Time passes and the fiance becomes history, the sparks between Cole and Rocki ignite and in every scene the two are together the pages of the story almost combust their chemistry is so hot and heavy. A past mistake comes back to haunt Rocki, one that involves a man who does not understand the word No means No!
This raises the stakes but it also cements the relationship for Cole and Rocki, what started out as an affair has become a full blown case of love for both of them.
For those of us who enjoy a second chance at love, a bit of suspenseful drama and a lot of steamy love scenes you cannot go wrong with this one!
In Beg Me the scenario is the same, widow whose husband died several years ago and she was totally devastated. The main difference in the story of Tania Sinclair is that she faced not only her husband's death but a brutal attack by someone she not only trusted but counted as family and it has left her in an emotional tailspin ever since.
This story is not by any means light romance, it is a tale that is filled with anguish and despair that will make women of all walks of life who read it cry with rage right along with Tania at what happened to her
The turning point in Tania's life is what this novella details, how she decided to start living again and make new memories to drown out the ones from the past that have kept her hiding her head in shame for something she was not responsible for.
I will be totally honest that the disclaimer/warning about the novella does not completely prepare the reader for the rawness of the emotions that you are going to experience within it pages. Not only is Tania's character in mental pain 2 years after losing her husband, but his best friend Drake is torn apart also because as long as he has known her he has loved Tania and it seems like nothing he can say or do will ever make her get past what happened.
Truth be told the things that Tania asks of Drake are wild, wicked and at times totally out of my comfort zone even reading them. They also provide the healing that both these characters need to not only find each other but to find a way to remember the past in a different light.
There are a few twists in this book that pertain to Tania's attacker that will get female readers blood boiling, I know it did mine!
Both of these novellas provide good closures for the main characters, both of them have intense stories that appeal to a wide variety of taste and both of them left me once again in awe of the grasp on human nature that the author shares in all of the work that she pens.
Shiloh Walker does not pull punches, she writes from the heart which is the best reading material for myself and others who like things spelled out in black and white along with the shades of gray that make for realism when telling a good story.

Digital editions available for separate novellas: Tempt Me Beg Me
The Bound Temptations anthology contains two novellas (Tempt Me and Beg Me) by Shiloh Walker that have both been previously released as ebooks. I'm going to talk about each of these stories individually in this review. Overall though I'd have to say that I liked the anthology but I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected to. I quite liked Tempt Me but I'm afraid I wasn't a big fan of Beg Me.
Tempt Me - 3/5 Stars
This was my favourite of the two stories. I really liked Rocki, she is the widow of a policeman who now runs her own lingerie store, life has been hard but she is ready to move on and find love again. I loved the fact that she isn't a skinny supermodel type, she has curves and is happy and confident about her fuller figure that she shows off wearing the corsets and the other lingerie she sells in her store. It's so nice to read about a woman who has no insecurities about her body and it was one of the things that drew Cole to her.
Unfortunately I wasn't as keen on Cole, he starts the story engaged to ice cold bitch Mara. Now as much as I hated Mara with a passion and felt she deserved to be kicked to the kerb it irritated me that Cole is completely oblivious to how awful she is until he is attracted to another woman. Suddenly after one meeting with Rocki he realises what a cow his fiancee is and decides to dump her. Then before you know it Rocki (who is still nursing a broken heart for the husband who died 5 years ago - she even wears her wedding ring still) and Cole are madly in love despite the fact they've only met a handful of times and been on a couple of dates. I know things have to move fast in a novella but that was just too fast for me and didn't make it believable. The story had real potential but I felt it could have been so much better if it had been given more page time.
Beg Me - 2/5 Stars
Now, I'll admit that if I'd realised the contents of this story before I picked the anthology up I probably wouldn't have read it so I'm not really the best person to judge this one. I'm not a fan of rape fantasies but I decided to give it a try because I like the author's writing style. I did like Tania at first, she had been through a horrible ordeal after the death of her husband and then being raped in her own home and I felt really bad for her. I can't even begin to imagine how messed up that would have left her and I admired her for wanting to take her life back and replace the bad memories with good ones. Drake was her husbands best friend and has been in love with Tania forever, he has always been there for her and was understandably the first one that she turned to.
Now I consider myself quite an open minded person and although Tania's fantasy isn't my idea of fun I don't have a problem with it as long as the people involved are consenting adults. The bondage side to their relationship and the dirty talk was fine and was even quite hot in places but events towards the end left me cold. Where it went wrong for me was when Tania practically forced Drake to do something that he was obviously very uncomfortable with - she was trying to wipe away the memories of her own rape which I can understand to a degree but that doesn't give her the right to force the man she is supposed to be falling for into doing something that hurt him emotionally. I felt so bad for Drake, he loves Tania so much that he would do anything for her and I felt she took advantage of that and it really made me dislike her. That scene ruined the whole novella for me which was such a shame.
My Review: TEMPT ME Rating: A- This is just one of those books that has a little bit of everything. Five years ago, Rocki's cop husband was shot in the line of duty. After lingering, he died and his absence has broken her heart. She's open to loving again, but has never even been tempted until she meets Cole. Instantly she feels an attraction to him....a connection, but Cole is engaged.
Rocki owns a lingerie shop and is a corset designer. She's passionate about making women of all shapes and sizes feel beautiful and sexy. Cole's fiance is a witch with a capital "B". She plans to open her own lingerie shop in the neighborhood and is relentless about finding Rocki's designer, not realizing that Rocki is that designer.
Cole finally decides he doesn't really know this woman he is engaged to and breaks off the engagement. Immediately, things start to heat up between him and Rocki....and it just happens to coincide with the increase of danger surrounding Rocki because she has a stalker. The element of danger and suspense added a lot to this romantic story.
I loved Rocki's character. She's come a long ways and is extremely self-confident. She's a strong character and completely self-assured about where she is in this world. She's had some hard things in her past, but she's overcome and has a good life. She's all about empowering women and I loved that about her.
Cole...I liked him too, but just could not understand why he put up with his fiance as long as he did. She was truly awful and for so long, he just went along with it. That made it hard for me to get completely behind his character although he definitely comes a long ways through the story. I do really like both him and Rocki together. Great chemistry here.
Overall this was a fun book to read with great settings and story details. You have to love a story set around corsets.
My Review: BEG ME Rating: A One word for this book- devastating. Tania lost her husband to a tragic death 3 years ago. One year later, his twin violently attacked and raped her causing her to kill him in self-defense...the man with her husband's face. Drake has always loved Tania even though she was married to his best friend and he will do anything to help her including shredding his own heart to help make her whole again.
This book is so incredibly emotional. The trauma that Tania has been through is simply devastating, but she is tired of being a victim and wants to take control of her life esp. her sexual one again. Drake has been the one that has been there for Tania in every way since her life fell apart. Now she is going to trust him to help put her back together.
The scenes between Drake & Tania are incredibly HOT. OMG, this book is really very sexy. I had my doubts going into it, because there is a lot of real trauma there that I thought would give the story an undesirable edge, but the underlying emotions just ramp up all their encounters in such a way that it makes the book just sizzle off the page.
Drake loves and adores Tania and he absolutely is NOT going to do anything to hurt her. The problem is, because he loves her so much, he is opening up his heart to being shattered. I don't want to give anything away, but OMG, I LOVED IT!
I cannot explain just how good this book was. If you like erotica and don't mind a little light BDSM, then you DEFINITELY NEED TO CHECK THIS BOOK OUT!!
Bound Temptations is an anthology made up of two previously published books by this author, Tempt Me and Beg Me. Both books deal with widows, but that's the extent of the similarities.
Tempt Me:
The better of the two, Tempt Me deals with Roxette "Rocki" Monroe, a corset designer and owner of a lingerie shop, and Cole Stanton, a lawyer. Their attraction is immediate upon first meeting. Cole unfortunately is engaged, and his fiancee is actually opening her own lingerie shop, thus putting her in direct competition with Rocki.
Rocki's husband died in the line of duty five years prior, and she hasn't really met anyone who interested her enough to pursue a new relationship - until Cole.
She also has a problem with a stalker and would-be rapist, which comes to a head in the book and serves as a catalyst to further the relationship between Rocki and Cole.
It's a cute, mostly drama-free story about two people falling in love. Unfortunately, it's also a little short, and I would have liked to see a bit more of the characters. Greedy, I know. I enjoyed that Rocki is described as lush, meaning she does not fit the contemporary idea that all women have to be stick-thin, and she also supports other women who don't fit that ideal, primarily by designing corsets that fit them.
Cole's fiancee is a bit one-dimensional, and her bitchiness is her only explored trait.
Beg Me:
This story made me very angry. Tania Sinclair has survived the loss of her husband, and a brutal attack by his twin brother. She's harassed by her mother-in-law, who believes that Tania is to blame for the deaths of her sons.
Tania and her husband indulged in acting out rape fantasies, and the attack of his twin brother has left her not only reeling from actually being raped, but it has also destroyed her memories, as she can't think of her husband and the good times with him, without seeing her attacker's face.
Drake Bennett was her husband's best friend, and he's been in love with Tanya for years, supporting her as a friend, but always wanting more. When Tania approaches him to help her get back her memories and her fantasies, he agrees despite his misgivings.
Not only did I find it strange that a rape victim would act in this way, by seeking out the same thing albeit as a fantasy, but I also was extremely angry with Tania for not seeing (or caring, it seemed) that doing so would profoundly affect Drake. Rough sex is one thing, but pretending to hurt the one you love, doing things against your own better judgment because you feel you have no other choice, does not a loving relationship make. And Tania didn't seem to care at all that what she was asking of Drake, and what he finally gave her despite his protests, was much more than what he was willing to give.
I didn't like the female protagonist, and it ruined the book for me.
The prose is clean and crisp, the love scenes are realistically described (and quite hot, especially in the first one), and the plots flow well.
The first book received 4 stars, the second only 2.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.
So this is a newly released anthology that contains previously released stories by Shiloh Walker.
The first story is Tempt Me and the characters are Rocki and Cole. This was a definite favorite of mine! Rocki is the owner of the lingerie shop Lush and is also a well known designer of corsets and other lingerie for her shop and others in the area. Cole is the D.A who is currently engaged to a bitch of a woman (Mara) and when they both stop into Lush he can't keep his eyes off Rocki. Cole and Mara attend a local benefit that takes place at Rocki's store where there is a live auction for dates with women. After having ended his engagement with Mara, Cole bids on a date with Rocki and he can't believe his luck when he wins. Too bad there are other issues at hand like a crazy person stalking Rocki and threatening her and his crazy ex-fiancee Mara who won't leave him alone. Cole and Rocki have to decide if they want to give their relationship a try or stop before it ever begins.
I loved Rocki and her personality, she just tackled life as it came and she was such a strong person. Cole and Rocki burned up the pages of this book! They were definitely sexy together. I also loved that Rocki was not a stick figure but a voluptuous woman who was content with her body and how she looked. What a nice refreshing change! I only wish there were more to this story, I was so sad when it came to an end. I'll have to look into whether there are other books set in the same area with some of the same characters.
The second story is Beg Me and the characters are Tania and Drake. I have to say I didn't like this one as much, mostly because I'm not into rape fantasies. Tania had been happy with her husband and they both were interested in the same kinds of kink. After her husband died, Tania was actually raped by someone close to their family and ever since that point she has felt stuck in her life. She feels like everything she loved has been taken away from her, even her own sexual desires. To remedy this, she looks to her close friend Drake who she knows is also into the same kinks as her. She asks him if he could help her to get over her past so that she could move on. Drake has no problem helping her out in the bedroom, but he's hoping that there's more to come because he wants to keep Tania for himself.
While I did like how the story was written and I liked Drake and Tania's character, I just couldn't get into the sex scenes. It's not that I felt that there was dubious consent, because I think it was clear that Tania really did want to have sex with Drake, but I just don't find it arousing to have someone being that forceful. But that's just me. The story was well written and there was a good balance between romance and sex. There was also a great suspenseful plot line. So really my only problem with the book was that I wasn't turned on enough, haha! Oh if only every book was this simple.
“Tempt Me” A quick read with a heroine that is sassy, intelligent, values herself and knows her worth. She is also secured in her looks and body. Loved that Shiloh wrote a heroine that is healthy and full figured. The book/story addressed the issue with society’s messed up view of what is beautiful and sexy. The truth is healthy is beautiful and everyone is different. Some of us have curves and are busty and that is sexy too!
This story isn’t just about the looks of the individual. It’s a romance, so we have a woman who has loved and lost but is not jaded or morning the loss. She’s just refuses to settle for anyone. We also have a man who is in a relationship with someone he no longer loves and has met someone who could be it that brings out the best in him.
That’s the start of Roxanne ‘Rocki” and Cole. As the story develops, we get to know them as they get to know each other. It’s a quick read that keeps you entertained and engrossed in the plot.
“Beg Me” I really like Shiloh’s writing style. It’s an easy read though it has depth. The characters are each strong but have their own vulnerabilities. The hero is smart, sexy, strong yet in tuned with the needs of the heroine.
“Beg Me” has a disclaimer. Light bondage, rape fantasy & role play. That didn’t deter me what so ever. As I read, and it was at the beginning, it turns out that the heroine was actually raped. The ‘rape fantasy & role play’ is part of the story as well and I can’t get into details or explain better as that would give too much away. Know that, I believe, Shiloh did a great job with how the story/details of the actual rape was shared with the reader.
Over all thoughts: So what do the two books have in common that they were placed together for the re-release? They both have the common theme of the heroine overcoming a sexual assault and/or abuse. These are two very tough heroines who were victims of a violent crime. They had no control over or fault, regardless of what some may say. Perhaps, it was done on purpose or just subconsciously, but Shiloh made it clear that regardless of how “kinky” or how “out of the box” one’s sex life/love life may be, it doesn’t give anyone the right to judge or accuse the victim of “wanting it” or “deserving it”.
What stands out is that these two very different heroines both fight to gain control of their lives and move forward. Refusing to let the abuser have any more control over them. “Tempt Me” and “Beg Me” are two very different stories, but they were both excellently written. This was my first book by Author Shiloh Walker and I will be catching up on her books.
The publisher provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Bound Temptations is an anthology made up of two short stories, Tempt Me and Beg Me both by Shiloh Walker.
Both books centre on widows but that is the only real similarities between them.
Tempt Me
This was my favourite story of the two it was fairly light hearted with some added suspense. I loved Rocki, she is a corset designer who owns her own shop. She is not a stick thin model but has a feminine figure that she is proud of. I loved the positive messages this book gives out, body image and size is a massive concern to a lot of women what this book does is challenge the perception of what id sexy and beautiful. Cole is also a great character and the romance between them was sweet. The sex is standard fair but there is an emotional connection between them during those scenes, something that I always like to see. One of the things I loved about this book is that the romance is not where the conflict comes from in the plot. It is not dramatic and angsty, instead it is something else that caused the drama but the romance never wavered and I never had to fear that it would all fall apart.
Beg Me
Beg Me is a lot darker and Tempt Me. A lot of the content is sexual. Beg Me is not going to be for everyone it is about a rape victim who has always had a taste for rough sex (including role play and rape fantasy) I know a lot of readers who are not into that so consider yourselves warned. I had two problems with this book. Firstly, I understand that this book is essentially about role-play borderline BDSM sex but it is also about a widow and rape victim finding love and learning how to trust again. I found that a lot of the ‘love making’ in this book was skimmed over and I felt that in order for the reader to feel the love and trust between Tania and Drake they needed to be written as explicitly as the rougher sex was. My second issue with this book is Tania. Drake is a really good guy and although Tania has been through a lot I hated the way she treated him towards the end of the book. She has been violently violated but to make herself heal she makes the man she loves do something he doesn’t want to, something that makes him hate himself. She does realise her mistake but when he becomes distant because he feels used, ashamed and disgusted with himself she has the audacity to get angry with him. It made me dislike her which was annoying because up to that point I really quite liked her.
I much preferred Tempt Me over Beg Me. I preferred the story, the characters and the writing. I didn’t hate Beg Me but didn’t love it either.
Wow. I have one thing to say about them both, and that is the writing is just freaking fabulous! After reading these two I have a sneaky suspicion I'd love to read pretty much everything by the same author. Spunky characters, charismatic, intriguing, very clear personalities, healthy sense of humor, clear and vibrant imagery in all scenes of any nature, beautiful flow of the plot. All around fabulous writing, as far as I'm concerned! So, let's talk about them separately for a bit.
First off, Temp Me. It's really more of a hot romance then erotica read, if you ask me. I totally loved basically everything about it. It was the sizzling sort of romance read with a clean plot and really great characters. The chemistry between Rocki and Cole was awesome, and as soon as both of them were anywhere together, in whatever scene - even those not so fun, I won't give details so I won't spoil your read - they were just dynamite. I was grinning like a mad woman each time they were together, and they finally had the one on one time... iha, guys! Seriously amazing chemistry. I'm sure this story is going to stick with me for quite a while, they had that memorable couple vibe, you know? Totally awesome read.
Beg Me, on the other hand, the second story in the book, is a bit kinkier in nature. Whereas the first leans more into the spicy romance category, this one revolves around a traumatic event, power play dynamics in a couple and some really amazing chemistry, yet again. Being a fan of power play reads, I might say I personally enjoyed this one better. The themes it approaches are just as serious as the first one, we're not talking smut much here guys, but really dramatic parts of plots, traumatic events, difficult situations and overcoming them. This second story was a bit hard to read, just because of the particular brand of traumatic events it involves. I would even say if you're a delicate nature, this might be a bit too much for you, the traumatic parts are more events passed that present plot refers to, but it can get a bit too much for some.
But particularly because of that, the chemistry between Tania and Drake and their romance is so much stronger, so incredibly intense. This is the kind of read I really really dig, particularly because of that insane intensity. The top of my head nearly blew off, that's how incredible this was!
So, all in all, I say this combo is fantastic. I'd say give this a try, the writing is really awesome, the plots are layered and well developed, and the characters are really well built and charming. Awesome, awesome reading.
I've always been curious about Shiloh's work. When I started this blog I had bought The Missing but I never ended up reading it. I was surprised to see that Bound Temptations was a bind-up of two of Shiloh's books: Tempt Me and Beg Me.
Tempt Me starts off with Rocki, she owns this amazing shop where she makes and sells corsets. I don't know where I stand with corsets, I think they're amazing pieces of clothing but maybe I'm a little teeny bit bitter because I don't have the boobs to actually wear one. I did however think it was awesome that Rocki not only ran her own shop but made the corsets herself too (and provided amazing customer service if you ask me). She holds a fundraiser every year in memory of her husband and other fallen officers.
Rocki was a breath of fresh air. Finally, finally an erotica protagonist who knows her worth and who is confident. Rocki has a lot of hurt in her life. It doesn't help her husband is gone and she's being stalked by some crazy psycho. Cole was an interesting character. He's stuck with this sarcastic monster of a fiance who really needs to get a clue. But he's a good guy and in the end I was happy for him to finally tell the psycho off!
Beg Me is one that I've debated on reading. I thought maybe I'd read it but not review it but I don't know, I have thoughts to share and isn't that the point of this blog? I won't go into detail and I won't touch on anything really since it's a bit of an uncomfortable subject. But it wasn't a bad book, it was just sad. Everything about it was sad. Tania is completely broken and my heart broke for her so many times. Drake was such an amazing character, he really cared about Tania and it was nice to see how MUCH he cared for her. Tania's mother in law though? CRAZY. CRAY CRAY status CRAZY!! The lady needs a reality check, big time. I don't think any character in the erotica world has pissed me off more than her. OMG!
Both Tempt Me and Beg Me read as novella's but they were long enough to get you to know the characters, their situations and their solutions. My only complaint is that Tempt Me ended a bit abruptly.
Ms. Walker never fails to move the heart with her characters. There are two stories in this book. The first one is Tempt Me which is the more sensual of the two. Beg me is a bit edgier with some dubious consensual elements. Tempt me is four stars. Beg me is three stars which gives this book an average of 3.5 stars.
In Tempt Me, readers meet and fall in love with Lush. She's strong, admirable and so sexy. The sensual lingerie store she opened was great and inspires one to find a place that sells corsets. Lush is not only the owner, but the designer of said sexy clothing. Cole meets Lush which ends his current engagement.
The sparks between Rocki (Lush) and Cole were great to watch. Cole is a dream man. This short story of their romance hit all the right buttons. Ms. Walker's stories keep me engaged and unable to put down the story until it ends. This story is recommended to romance lovers who love a bit of sadness added to a romance which ends in happily ever after.
Beg Me Tania is one messed up woman. When the truth is revealed about her brother in law and her mother in law, it is sickening. Both of them are twisted individuals. It just goes to show, there sometimes is an evil twin.
Drake, her late husband's best friend finally helps pull Tania back to life. His method is sexy and unorthodox. He even questions it, but it helps Tania. The light BD is delightful and tasty for those interested in a bit of kinky fun. This story is recommended for romance readers who like a female lead to own her sexuality.
What I didn't realize when I started this book is that it was actually two books bound together. So, I began the first story. There was an intriguing setup involving a mysterious stalker. A heroine I could like, between her curvy figure and her confident manner and business sense. A hero with a really terrible fiancee, so terrible that the fact he chose her in the first place kind of made you wonder about him. I was also expecting an element of BDSM, based on the title, so perhaps its notable absence should have been my first clue. But here I was, just getting into the mystery of the corset shop owner's terrifying stalker and the soon-to-be hot romance with the rich businessman, when boom. The story is over. The stalker is caught with very little effort or fanfare. And then I knew: I didn't have a novel. I had two novellas.
I'm not anti-novella in general, but I do think that it's very, very difficult to do short form fiction well. The shorter the fiction, the more difficult it is to craft. Epic novels may take talent and work, but an excellent short story writer exhibits much greater skill, in my opinion. Sadly, the short form was not very kind to Shiloh Walker in these two novellas. I didn't get the character development I wanted. The relationships were jammed into a space too small for them. The plot never truly unfurled into full potential. They could have been good. Which is what made the mediocrity so disappointing.

Review; I loved this short story. The ending came too soon for me though. I feel it should have been longer, but maybe that was just me enjoying the story so much. Who knows? The characters for me were realistic. The romance was a bit too fast, but I could still believe it. The story was short, and there were only so many weeks within the story, but I still felt that enough happened. A lot happened in that short time to make it interesting, and the focus wasn't entirely on the romance or erotic aspect! I also liked the fact that there was emotions involved, a lot of romantic erotica stories are purely about the sex, but this story involved the emotion too. I would recommend this story to friends, and I'm recommending it to you all now. I really enjoyed it, and I hope you will too.
Beg Me; Would I recommend it? Yes
Review; If you were to ask me to choose which story I preferred I would have no answer for you. I enjoyed both. This story involved more sexual situations, but still it was all about the emotions. I feel this story didn't need to be any longer, as I felt the previous one could have. The story - due to its subject - involved a lot of emotion. I feel that the author got a lot of the emotion right, it didn't seem too played down, or too over the top! If you haven't picked up your copy of Bound Temptations yet, I suggest you do it soon!
This book has two stories about widows in it. I loved one and hated one. TEMPT ME I loved this one. It was fantastic! Rocki is a big girl who lost her husband and rebuilt her life. She runs her own lingerie store and designs specialty corsets. When she first meets the handsome Cole he is in her shop with his fiancé. There is instant attraction but he is taken and so off limits. I loved this story because of Rocki. She has overcome adversity. She has a sense of humor and an unconquerable sense of self. BEG ME This story started out okay. Tania lost her husband to a car wreck. His twin raped her and she killed him. Now she wants to get her life back. The problem is she likes rough sex and the only one she trusts to help her get that back is her husband’s best friend Drake. The Publisher included this warning for this story: Warning: This book involves light bondage play, rape fantasy & role-playing. The acts between the hero & heroine are consensual, but they may not be ideal for all readers… It was not for me. I don’t mind some rough but this one crossed the line for me. Especially since Tania is a rape victim.

Tempt Me 4 out of 5 Out of the two, this one was my least favorite. The thing that really stood out about this story were the characters. Though the only one that was well-developed was Rocki, I enjoyed all of them. Her love interest, Cole, was a sexy, take control alpha male. My perfect guy. Normally, I despise the "villainy" characters. In fact, in almost every book I read, I find myself rooting for an untimely demise. That was not the case with this one. Cole's ex-fiancee was the best character in this book. The best scenes were the ones she was in. Without her, I doubt this book would have been half as interesting as it was. Beg Me 4 1/2 out of 5 This book was a little bit of a first for me. Before this, I hadn't read anything that contained rape fantasies, so I wasn't really sure how much I would care for it. While it isn't my favorite thing in the world, it does make for an interesting read. The story started a little slow. It wasn't until about halfway through the book that I became enthralled with it. I couldn't put it down after that. In my opinion, the second half definitely made up for the first.
So I have to state that this review is only for the first book Tempt Me that I read... the second one in here just wasn't for me, so I didn't continue it.
In Tempt Me, Rocki is the owner of Lush Lingerie Shop. The loss of her husband and a stalker play prominently in the plot of this novella as does Cole. Cole, when we first meet him is engaged to ... well there is no nice way to say it. She's a bitch. Mara and Cole attend a benefit that is being held at Lush where Mara hopes to run into a specific designer in hopes that this person will help her with her own lingerie store that is opening down the road.
I really liked the characters in this story and for a short read it definitely held my attention - Rocki had a wonderful personality and Cole and Rocki together had excellent chemistry.
When the end had rolled around, I kinda wish we had gotten a bit more!
PLEASE NOTE - DID NOT READ BEG ME **contains rape fantasies** (not my thing)
This book contains 2 short stories. First Tempt Me with Rocki and Cole and then Beg Me with Tania and Drake. Both women lost their husbands and found love again in unexpected places.
Rocki's husband died in the line of duty, and she has been struggling to move on with her life. In walks Cole with his fiance, but from the first moment these two meet sparks fly. They have to deal with a few problems, but in the end they find their way.
Tania loses her husband and then is later brutally attacked. She turns to Drake to help get her life back. They have to deal with a problem no one would have ever suspected, but they find love along the way.
If you have ever read Shiloh's books you know how steamy they can be and this was no exception. It is very hot without being forced. Loved it.
BOUND TEMPTATIONS is an enjoyable read, it's hot, sexy, emotional and relatively dirty on some parts. I like the abuse survivors angle of the stories because a lot of women go through this in one form or the other. It might be fanciful but every story resonate with us differently and hopefully this will give hope to those who have come from a similar background. This book is a good way to test drive Shiloh Walker's writing style if you haven't read any of her works yet, like me. She can write romantic, vanilla sexy and she can also go dark and very dirty.
Actually, that’s not entirely true. I didn’t enjoy this book at all. I can only comment on Tempt Me in this compilation, as I didn’t read it. I did read Beg Me, however. And it left a bad taste in my mouth.
The plot was beyond ridiculous. And not to mention how disturbing it was. I don’t mind BDSM. It’s not my favorite, but if it’s written well, and I like the story, I can get on board. But Beg Me was simply terrible.
I’m certain that others will disagree, and obviously people liked this book enough for it to be republished in a compilation. But it just wasn’t for me.
This two little stories succeed in walking the fine line between a too much overstuffed story that could have been a better stand alone novel, and long enough. I say that because I found short stories, most of the times, too full of things to really appreciate them and too rushed. So Ms. Walker surprise me with her ability to describe and to develop a short story with the right length and the right "number" of things inside.
THANKS TO NETGALLEY AND HYDRA PUBLICATIONS FOR THE PREVIEW
I didn't know this was two separate short stories (my fault, I didn't read the blurb) and was really enjoying the first. I was so disappointed that it cut off when I was completely sucked in! I probably would have liked the second story better had I been expecting it and not mad about the first one ending.
I was sad to say I couldn't get into this book and didn't finish it. I wanted to, I love a good heroine who loves her own body and owns her sexuality but I just couldn't do it.
