Jordan – nerd, soon-to-be bookstore owner, pole-dance fitness trainer – takes undercover job as a stripper. Matt – a may or may not corrupt cop – investigates the club where Jordan works.

Plot with holes, inconsistencies, insta-love, but hey, hot sex!

Another great addition to the LHNB stories.

Jordan aka 'Lucky' is trying to get into character, how was he to know a cop was going to arrest him? He's just lucky that he has connections among the police force.
I don't want to give the story away, it's sweet, cute, unrealistic, insta-love-lust, absolutely fun, quick and hot.
There are misunderstandings, a gun shot, a hostage situation, pole dancing..and pole dancing, warp speed relationship, books and bookstores..and it's free.
Go read it. :)

4.5 stars - Wow, this was an awesome short story! Absolutely loved it and was left wanted more. Okay so there was insta-love, but I honestly didn't really care; it was a free read and I totally enjoyed it, and sometimes I'm actually in the mood for a sweet insta-love story. I'm already looking forward to Gavin's story, and hopefully we'll get to see more of Matt and Jordan too :)

The story was okay ... I mean, the set-up was nice. Although I did wonder how a bookstore owner who didn't have any undercover training whatsoever was allowed to be one. The connection between Matt and Jordan was there (hey, they both loved books!) but I truly didn't care about the insta-love.

I mean, Matt slept with Jordan for one night, got a bit of fall out when he found out Jordan's true identity, but then . Uhmm... oookaaaay.

I appreciated the story for being free (thank you for participating in the Love Has No Boundaries event, Jena Wade) and I knew that this was practically the author's first story out here. Still, I wanted more 'substance' to a relationship than that.

So 3-stars rating from me, since there was still parts I enjoyed.

Another really good short story in the Love Has No Boundaries stories. Yes, things move quickly, but what can you expect? It's a short story. A really, sweet short story about an undercover stripper and a cop that had no clue. Enjoyable read and yes, Blacky, this one's a story you will love with the HEA ending.

The premise was interesting, the following execution and logic was rather puzzling.

First, Matt the cop.

All that lead to the climax and the argument which finally lead to the most... baffling reconciliation scene I have ever read. For me, it felt as though the author did not know what to do for that scene.

So I can only rate it 3 stars. The writing itself was fine, I just don't know what to make of that reconciliation scene.

I'm taking away two stars because of some (minor) plot-holes, and because the pace was a bit too fast, even with the story being so short.

Overall, it was nice and entertaining. It had this sort of rom-com vibe going on... The general idea was well developed, although a bit more consistency would have been much more appreciated.

I did enjoy it a lot, though. But there's still quite a bit of room for improvement.

I think maybe it would have worked much better if it had been longer, it would have had more time to develop and it would have turned out much more solid.

3,5-4* can't decide :-)
I have to agree with Mandy*reads obsessively*s review: "(...), it's sweet, cute, unrealistic, insta-love-lust, absolutely fun, quick and hot. There are misunderstandings, a gun shot, a hostage situation, pole dancing..and pole dancing, warp speed relationship, books and bookstores...(...)".
It's a fun read if you just go with it.

The story line isn't new but the execution is fine. In short, a sweet neatly written romance with just the right amount of spice, appealing characters and good vibes. Looking forward to more from this author.

Fun short story of mistaken identity. I really identified with the MC, Jordan, who worked in a bookstore, who, after a hard day, just wanted to go home and read a book to escape. I'm glad the author left the story line open to develop secondary character Gavin. His story will be a good one, too.

Offered for FREE from the M/M Romance Group's Love Has No Boundaries Anthology: Volume 11. Thank you too all the amazing authors who participated!

The first 3/4 of this story was leaning more towards a 4 star rating for me. I liked both the characters, and they were fairly well developed given the length of the story. We didn't know too much about Matt but I liked how once he decided he liked Lucky he didn't hem and haw with indecisiveness, or even have any negative thoughts are actions due to him being a stripper although he obviously wanted him to quit. Where it lost me was at their reunion. Why do authors feel the need to ruin a perfectly good love story with stereotypical HEA expectations? Don't get me wrong, I love these guys together, but they've known each one week! So that totally sucked me out of the story unfortunately.

I have to admit though, I'm intrigued by Gavin and I hope there is another installment featuring him

This is definitely a fun little story with a nice twist on the "rent boy and cop" theme. While there is lots of heat between the detective and the man he thinks he should not be falling for, a stripper and suspected prostitute, there is also an underlying real attraction and a need on both sides for more than a hookup or fling. With enough storyline around some undercover work and a drug bust, the story, though very short, is definitely complete.

Matt is new to the city, and trying to establish himself as a detective. The ink on his paperwork for reassignment isn’t even dry yet when he gets propositioned by "Lucky", and promptly arrests him for solicitation. From then on, the story twists and turns, but I can't say much more because that would spoil the surprise. But let me tell you, all the cloak and dagger was a fun addition to what is also a story of new love, despite the circumstances and enough misunderstandings to bring me close to despair.

If you like short stories with a twist you are aware of but one of the main characters isn't, if you enjoy reading about rent boys "making good", and if you're looking for a short, sweet read about a sexy detective and his quarry, then you will probably like this free short story.

4 Bookworm Undercover Stars!

I loved the initial situation of this story so much! Is it a little ridiculous? Hell, yes! But is it FUN! And so well written, I couldn't stop reading. A book worm with questionable people skills most of the time, goes undercover as stripper in order to help out his cop family, meets the new guy on the force. The one with a big heart and the need to prove himself. WHat's not to like?

Nothing too heavy, despite the underlying themes, and also a little sexy. Cute and entertaining, and definitely recommended!

Would have been a more compelling, not to mention accurate, book if the the MC wasn't some civilian "playing at" being undercover but an actual stripper confidential informant. But then, I'm thinking accurate wasn't even a secondary goal of this story.

But, it earned points for having both MCs love The Princess Bride and own multiple copies of the book.

Nicely written story of a cop newly arrived in the city meeting, and arresting, a man masquerading as a stripper for prostitution. The plot has some good twists on the way to a HEA.

It was a fun read - but a bit unrealistic.
What annoyed me the most was how quickly (like we're talking The flash quickly) their relationship developed after they made up.
Also, what is up with The Princess Bride references in MM books? Why is this a thing?

Nice story that fit the prompt perfectly. Yes, there were elements that came across as unrealistic, but it was still fun to read.
