Dusty White is a professional tarot reader, astrologer, and teacher of professional—and beginning—tarotistas and astrologers. He is the author of several books on metaphysics, including astrology, tarot, palmistry, and manifestation techniques. He is also the creator of The Easiest Way to . . . —EVER!! series of instructional books, in open rebellion to books that call people “Dummies” or “Complete Idiots.”
Dusty White brings pragmatism and integrity to metaphysics, along with a healthy dose of seriously bad attitude directed squarely at purveyors of outdated and disproven occult dogma, “instant New Age gurus,” and self-righteous “experts” whose ego eclipses their ability to help their clients achieve tangible results. As such, he will most likely never fit in with the mainstream crowd.
His books on the tarot The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot EVER and Advanced Tarot Secrets have helped thousands of frustrated students finally learn—and master the tarot once and for all through a selection of carefully designed exercises, games, and techniques used by professionals, none of which require memorizing useless keywords or phrases. He has spent the past two decades developing an oracle deck.
Additionally, he gives away hundreds of hours of free audio and video instruction on the tarot and astrology at EasyTarotLessons.com and EasyAstrologyLessons.com to help students of all stages of expertise and every economic level learn and master the arts.
I have been waiting with great anticipation for my long awaited copy of, "Advanced Tarot Secrets' by Dusty White. I was very pleased with the first book, "The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot Ever,". It spoke in plain simple language. The book was filled with a marvelous workbook exercises.
I like the style that It was written in. I was fortunate to be able to take the class that used the book. It totally unleashed my curiosity. That book changed every thing for me that I would attempt regarding Tarot and my personal Metaphysical pursuits.
When I heard that a second book was on the way I was thrilled. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical only in the sense that when I have seen other books in a series many times it was just a repackage of the first book with a few vague slight of hand tricks.
This is not the case at all with this book. There are great new exercises in this book. There are wonderful new games and activities. One of the things that set author Dusty White apart from others is that he is accessible. He as given so much material away for free. He has made an amazing amount of material in Youtube videos, and radio show appearances. He is available to write to and will answer questions about Tarot and about his books. There are not many authors who stand behind their work and make themselves available like this. That spirit that he has translates into his books as well.
Since I took his first class and got his first book, I have gone on to read professionally doing readings by phone, video and in person. I also was invited to be a guest on multiple podcasts. Later I went on to host and co host two video internet programs. This has given me the opportunity to meet and interview people that I have long admired for years and would never had access to. In fact my third article was published this week.
Ofe of the things I see that goes wrong is that people hear a skill and craft and the very soon forget those who taught and invested into them. The important to remember is this, "The teacher may have taught you all that you know but that does not mean that the teacher taught you all that he knows." This second book proves that out. All the things that I thought were beyond my reach as well as those things that I never had to courage to attempt I can trace back to taking that class and the principles and concepts that I learned in Dusty White's books.
I am please with this book. The exercises are wonderful. The language is easy to understand and his way of teaching is so very different than anything I have read in other books. There are things in this book that you will not find in other books. If you do not have the first book you should get it but this book stands alone as well.
I am not saying this book is Magick. No matter what you learn or attempt you are only going to get as much out of it as you but into it. This book teaches you how to do that. If you think you are too old to try something new remember that Julia Child was in her 50's when she began you journey as a cook.
I am a professional Psychic Medium. I've been reading the Tarot since I was 15 years old. I've read most of the classic, historical books on the subject as well as studied Tarot with many teachers. Dusty's book dispels so much of the superstitions about the Tarot and will teach you things you just won't find anywhere else.
If you want to learn to read the cards for self-discovery, or perhaps wish to master them to do this work professionally, get this book now. Even if you've got decades of experience, this book will free you to really enjoy the Tarot, and be a real help to others in the process.
This is without question, one of the greatest books on the Tarot you will ever find.
I think that this book is the best I have ever read on the subject. Both the "The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot.", his first book on the subject, and "Advanced Tarot Secrets" have increased my knowledge in the field tenfold. Each has earned five-star ratings going back to 2009. I'm about to add to those. The first book on the author's series on tarot, taught me more than I had ever known in this subject over the years. I've always relied on memorization of each card as described on the little booklet that comes with most new decks, and these readings have mostly been okay. I want to do more than that. Dusty teaches you to go on beyond the traditional meanings for each card, and to use your own recognition of the archetypes portrayed, to look at what each individual is doing personally and in relation to others, the context of suit and numbers , but more importantly, your own intuitive response to the card and it's placement in the spread. Somehow when I read, the deck becomes an extension of myself because I've developed some sense of relationship to it. This didn't just come because I read this book, but throughout it has taught me through exercises and practice the living meaning of each spread. This may sound extreme, but for me it's true. The tarot is now more than esoteric and a little spooky, but it's fun. No longer do I pause in the middle of a reading to look at a book, which makes me feel rather inept and doesn't inspire confidence. An advanced tarot secrets, Dusty goes even farther, with new exercises and games,, to teach what is sort of like a master's class in the topic. Beyond all that, the author is exceptionally generous by being always available to answer questions and help when you need it. Dusty has regular classes, seminars (whatever you'd like to call it) on the web, free of charge. When you read this book, follow the exercises and apply yourself, you can become an expert, your readings will be more accurate and professional than ever before. If you're new to the topic, these are without doubt to me, the best books on the subject. I have own a ton of books on tarot, practically collect them. These books almost make them feel like a waste of time. I now feel anxious to read Dusty's books on dowsing with the pendulum, astrology, and whatever he conjures in the future. Oh, and did I mention that they are also entertaining and fun to read?
As a beginner just taking up the Tarot, I was more than intimidated by the mystical language and almost indecipherable meanings that fill many Tarot books. Then I picked up Dusty White's first book on the Tarot, "The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot - Ever! - and he was right! I loved the book and the exercises that Dusty included with each lesson. The clarity and ease of the writing in no way diminished the important concepts and the depth of meaning found in the Tarot. Dusty made learning the Tarot truly easy - and fun. And as an instructor, I know that fun makes the knowledge go down - in the most delightful way!
In his second book, Advanced Tarot Secrets, the easy style of writing and accessible terminology is still there, and I was lead gently yet ever deeper into understanding the Tarot more completely, with new exercises and spreads illuminating the text. Using every day examples and real-life situations that I could identify with, even these more difficult concepts were within my grasp. What I appreciate maybe more than anything Dusty teaches is that I can and should trust my OWN intuition and interpretations of the cards. While expert opinions are good to know and can certainly inform my own readings, it is my intuition that is "right" for me! Dusty has many exercises and suggestions to bring out the reader's intuition and let it shine! I am in no way an expert, and I may never become a professional reader, but I love these cards and use them for myself with much more confidence now. In de-mystifying the Tarot and the secretiveness that often shrouds the Tarot, Dusty White does not diminish the importance or grace of the Tarot - to quote from a Richard Dawkins in his book "Unweaving the Rainbow": "Mysteries don't lose their poetry because they are solved: the solution often is more beautiful than the puzzle, uncovering deeper mysteries." You'll enjoy both of Dusty's books, even if you never intend use the Tarot for anything but a hobby!
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It is as good if not better than The Easiest Way To Learn The Tarot--EVER!!.
I was expecting a further elaboration of the material presented in his first book. There is some of that in the book. He does address everyone's main concern of "How DO I REALLY know if I am accurate and casting the right cards?" by sharing fool-proof, professional level techniques.
But, he really opened my eyes to other usage with the Tarot beyond divination. That was amazing. Who knew? Not me.
My confidence in my reading skills has grown tremendously because I learned Dusty's pre-spread techniques to verify the accuracy of the cards I drew and did learn how to wring every tiny detail from the big spreads to provide more detailed information for readings for friends every single time. My friends are stunned with what comes out of my mouth. Truthfully, I am too. They continue to ask me to read for them. I picked up my first deck and read EWTLTE nearly one year ago. Everyone can do this! Just do the work.
He opened my eyes to what is possible with the Tarot beyond divination. The Tarot = Research Tool. Wow! The Advanced Tarot Secrets book has sections on Remote Viewing, Problem Solving, Exercises for Authors, Dowsing, and Manifestation. While I have read about Remote Viewing and Problem Solving, I haven't tried out the techniques. However, the Dowsing and Manifestation techniques definitely worked for me. I am absent minded and always misplace my cell phone, almost every day. No more! I am tired of calling my cell phone multiple times running around trying to locate it in my large apartment before the phone call to myself goes to voicemail. I just whip out my cards and voilá, I find my phone. I have successfully manifested pieces of my overall career plans, which is work in progress (no pun intended).
Dusty, you've done it again with this book which is will take a tarot reader to the next level. Filled with Dusty's warmth and pragmatism, this is a fantastic sequel to "The easiest way to learn the Tarot-Ever". This book will support and guide the reader to achieve much more than becoming a more accurate and professional Tarot Reader it will help you boost your creativity, manifest a chosen future, solve problems and much more. If the only thing stopping you getting this book is money then do a public service and order it through the library system. You can then read the book and manifest your own copy (It will come naturally through real sources such as Amazon maybe even as a gift from a friend or family member. A Quote from the back "The skills...can be applied to any industry". The proof of the pudding is in the eating and then I reckon you too will be thanking Dusty.
This book, along with The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot (Dusty's first book) gets regular use. My other tarot books sit and gather dust on my bookshelf because they have not helped me to learn how to read the cards or understand their meanings, despite being written by so called tarot experts. The exercises in this book stimulate creative learning and are helpful to learn things about the cards that you will not have not seen before - even if you have tarot experience. The spread techniques in the book are truly amazing and help to dramatically increase the amount of information that can be extracted from each spread. If you want to learn even more about Tarot, I recommend Dusty's classes. If you are new to tarot, The Easiest Way To Learn Tarot book is best book to start with so you can build up your skills in readiness for this book.
This is by far the most complete book of Tarot ever!. It is not for the novice (use Dusty's other book book: The Easiest Way To Learn The Tarot Ever!!|6807936] [2009] (Author) Dusty White, Brenda Judy) to get acquainted with the Tarot basics first. This book is really for advanced level Tarot readers. As always, Dusty does a superb job explaining processes to obtain reading results that are specific and not just general information. I am so glad I found this author and his books! I am eagerly looking forward to his next one! Advanced Tarot Secrets
I thoroughly enjoyed "Advanced Tarot Secrets". Even though I read with "Morgan's Tarot Cards" I encountered no issues at all with any of the exercises. The 'Fun Things You Can Do With the Tarot" is one of my favorite sections, and I have noticed a definite increase in my intuitive abilities! The new game section is fun and challenging and I especially love the suggestion of 'breathing in the cards'. Thanks Dusty for another great book on making the Tarot accessible to those of us who always wanted to learn, and for all the free lessons online!!
A strange and superficial take on the art of Tarot and its purpose. Maybe it's that this guy's Tarot philosophy just isn't my cup of tea, but I really hate everything about this book. Tarot is 'how the gods speak to you'? Okay. I'm really more the 'Tarot is how one understands herself and life situation' type. I'm also not so much for the author's overly specific and highly negative interpretations of each of the cards, which are heavily laden with 'buy my other book now!' kinds of comments.
For Tarot enthusiasts, the books of Mary K. Greer did a lot more for me.
Mr. White has done it again. This book goes into so much detail with examples and illustrations it just blows away any other Tarot book I've purchased. He makes it fun and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is tired of trying to absorb and memorize teachings from other books. This book is completely different. Check it out. You won't regret it. And the price is more than reasonable.
Most Innovative and Revolutionary Way of Learning Tarot
First of all, a disclaimer: I am not a Tarot card practitioner. I am, in fact, a practicing surgeon; rather removed from the esoteric art of Tarot card reading. I had a mild, fleeting interest in Tarot reading last year and purchased a few books on the subject including the author’s first book, “the Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever!” The difficulty with a subject like Tarot reading is the fact that there isn’t any agreed textbook or authoritative source of learning. Anyone who writes a book or put up a video on YouTube could claim to be an expert on the topic. I was intrigued by the fact the author was presenting an intuitive way of looking at the card reading. Instead of spoon feeding the “established” meaning of each card and have people memorize the possible answers from the spread, he was actually teaching people the fundamentals of a fine art appreciation: looking at a given picture of a card and observe what visual cues are triggering the mental image or possible meanings. This way, anyone can develop his/her own interpretation of the spread and has a chance to develop in the art and practice of Tarot reading. In this advanced version of the same style of teaching, Dusty White is displaying the higher level tools of the trade to allow a given person to move onto the next level of the expertise. He is showing the readers skills of master level practitioner. There is a joke about a surgeon who charged a patient for $200 for recommending no operation. When the patient complained about the charge when there was no surgery, the surgeon explained that there was no charge for the operation that was not performed, but $200 was for the knowledge to know that no surgery was needed. In the similar vein, Mr. White is showing people how to validate their own answers from the Tarot reading. He is not only showing you how to obtain an answer but to know when to redo a spread and learning how to double check to see if a given answer was supported by the spread. These are the kind of behind the scene skills that make one a true expert. By the way, don’t be fooled by his easy, informal, and humorous writing style in the book. It is after all an advanced textbook and requires you to do the homework. So don’t expect to do the things he claims in the book without actually doing all the exercises. It is like claiming that you can perform an appendectomy after you read an authoritative textbook on the surgery. Unless you actually perform the procedure day in and day out, you wouldn’t be able to perform it with the mastery you are glimpsing in the book. This means you actually have to do the exercises and games that are listed in the book. But if you are faithful to the drills he is putting you through, you will be amazed by the results you obtain. This is the most innovative and advanced (yet comprehensible) textbook on Tarot I could find. Highly recommended.
Advanced Tarot Secrets is another gem from the mind and pen of Dusty White. In this book, Dusty offers innovative insights that have truly deepened my understanding of the tarot. The exercises he proposes challenge the reader to consider tarot cards from multiple perspectives so that he or she can really see and hear what the cards are saying in ANY reading. These exercises have helped me feel more confident in seeing, interpreting, and conveying the messages revealed in a reading. Before working through the exercises in ATS, I would sometimes (ok ... often) be at a loss for words to describe what I was seeing in front of me. I would get stuck. With Dusty's guidance through the exercises and games in ATS, I've learned a language related to the tarot that allows me to fluently tell the story the cards are revealing without stumbling, without looking up rigid meanings, without fear.
The coverage of spreads is extensive and very clearly presented. If you understand what's discussed in the sections on spreads, you'll understand how to extract as much information as possible from beginning to end in a reading, not leaving any content on the table before you tear down the spread. Dusty explains methods that make up a sensible approach that can work for anyone.
Building on from the discussion of advanced spread and reading structure, the magic moves into high gear as ATS begins its treatment of things you probably had no idea you could do with the tarot, including dowsing, distant investigation (in time or geography), building spreads, illuminating the creative mind, and ... wait for it ... manifestation! Yes, the extended content on manifestation with the tarot alone is worth buying and working closely with Advanced Tarot Secrets. Just over the course of the past year, I've built a manifestation spread to bring myself into a different line of work, become aware of pieces of that spread falling into place, taken steps I needed to take to support the manifestation that was happening, and am now in awe of how in line with that spread my current reality is: new work, activities that are reflections of the cards I chose to build the spread, and signs that other aspects of that spread are coming to fruition as well.
Here are some ideas I have that you may want to take as advice: Purchase the book. Spend time working your way through the exercises and games, and understand what this teacher is saying. Reach out to the author if you have questions; he is approachable and wants his students/ readers to become the best they can. Discover what new possibilities there are in the tarot. Learn to be a much better reader, skilled in techniques that few other readers possess in the same way.
Needless to say, I highly recommend Advanced Tarot Secrets by Dusty White.
Have you ever wondered if that's all there is about tarot? If so, READ THIS BOOK!!
I've been a tarot reader for a number of years. I've taught beginner tarot classes. I've taught these graduates intermediate tarot. I've taught classes on how to develop your own personal tarot deck. (It's more than a pretty collection of pictures!) But there's been a gnawing pain deep inside of me, clawing to get out. Was this all there was? I knew that no, there had to be more... a whole bunch more! But where is there a hint of that advanced knowledge?
I'm not sure how I came across this book while spelunking through Amazon, but found it, I did.
My mind was blown.
Mr. White definitely knew what I was craving for. This book reminded me of one of my favorite quotes by Einstein: "The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
There is always a need for the human mind to go further. More so than "this card means this and this card means that". I've already been working on learning how to listen to the cards rather than playing cookbook tarot reading. I've been even working on an entirely new method of cartomancy out of my sheer frustration, and this is a great book to start off with. Yes, start off with because in search of knowledge is never over.
I won't go into incredible detail of what has already been mentioned before, but this book makes you work for your knowledge. It isn't easy reading. Not that it is difficult reading like books written two centuries ago with their love for run-on sentences. This book takes you through exercises. If you are disciplined enough, get yourself prepared. Select your favorite RWS deck (because you need this for symbolism basics), your favorite writing pen, and a brand-spankin' new journal (a big one that lets you paste in pictures if you wish or allows you to sketch and color). These are important. Start with the basics and go through the entire book! Then select your most haunting deck, the one you want to get a little closer to, to understand its dark meanings further, and repeat the process. You WILL learn beyond what you ever imagined you could.
This is a workbook above all other tarot workbooks I have seen. But if you don't feel quite prepared, read his previous books to get you caught up. I've gone back and purchased these anyways, and I was surprised by all the great info a "remedial" book taught me. (I really shouldn't call them remedial. How about refresher...)
Get this book. Scribble in it! Highlight in it! It is meant to be devoured by an intellectual mind in order to release what is intuitive about your connection with tarot. It's all there. Just buy it!!
Anyone can buy a book on how to read the tarot, there are hundreds of them out there. So why this book? Because it WORKS!!! I, like lots of people, have five or more books on learning the tarot. (More like fifty in my case.) I purchased every book I could find to try to connect with my cards. None of them helped. I found that a lot of them contained contradicting information. Rote meanings that my mind couldn't, or wouldn't connect with. I found it hard to read for a client and take their money, in good conscience, by giving them a generic, general reading. I felt they deserved more. Then I cam across Dusty White's Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever! That was the springboard that led me to understand the tarot on a whole new level. Dusty teaches you to use your intuition to look at and into the cards in different ways, by using different games and exercises. My readings improved, and my clients noticed that improvement. Then he released Advanced Tarot Secrets. I immediately read it with the mind set of "what more can he teach me?" Was I shocked!!! The title doesn't lie. This is the information that separates the "men from the boys". The section on pre-spread work and verifying a spread are invaluable. Not to mention the lessons on tarot manifestation that are included that WORK!!! After putting the lessons to work, my clients were bring me their friends and family members for readings, and my clientele base increased! I love this book, and you will too!
Advanced Tarot Secrets is a book on exactly that. Dusty White with 35 years of experience, introduces a series of exercises, games, spread techniques to improve the tarot reader´s skills. The book is not a book for the novice, it assumes the reader can read the cards already. The examples given are from the RWS deck, but really any deck can be used for the exercises. I would recommend this book for the advanced reader who seeks to improve his skills.
If your confused where to start tarot buy this book. You'll get complete definitions that make sense for upright and reversed cards. Spread that make sense and practical advice regarding your deck. As I do readings this ended up being my #1 book to which I referrence. There are other gems in other books but this is what you want to buy if you want a solid foundation that won't leave you with holes as you begin your tarot journey.
What the book did well was to provide a coherent and consistent set of explanations, with a methodology which will undoubtedly generate readings which are more consistent. The level of detail and the author’s own experiences meant that this was a professional presentation which will undoubtedly be helpful to those who use Tarot cards.
If the book had stopped there and presented itself as a ‘game’ to be enjoyed then that would have been fine; and the book would have deserved multiple stars. But the book went too far in also claiming to be able to present ‘accurate’ readings. At one point the author is absolutely explicit: ‘this is not fantasy’ (5%). He explains very clearly that he is presenting a methodology which avoids ‘long-ago disproven superstitious beliefs… (and) outright lies…’ (3%).
But how can he be so sure? Tarot is one of the alleged psychic phenomena which have been studied by Sceptic associations and its predictive powers have never been able to pass a properly calibrated test. The US association offers a $1m cash prize to anyone who can prove that psychic phenomena such as tarot readings are really valid. In more than a hundred years of offering the prize no one has come forward to claim it. If Tarot really worked, as the author seems to suggest, why is no one able to prove it in properly controlled environments?
More pertinently, in the absence of evidence that it works, is it really appropriate for the book to make the claims that it does? It is one thing to enjoy Tarot, but it is an entirely different thing to base beliefs and hopes upon what it allegedly reveals, especially when professional readers are earning 'several hundred dollars per hour' (4%) to give their readings.
Don’t love his tone, but the book is pretty amazing
Dusty White comes across on the page as arrogant, possibly at least a little misogynistic, and at times borderline obnoxious. BUT, this book really is next-level stuff for the serious tarot student who is bored with the typical tarot books targeted at beginners, of which there are just so darn MANY.
I recommend reading this with your favorite deck close by and ideally with a spread from the past that you can look at again through the additional lenses this book offers. Beginners will likely be overwhelmed (and should be), but for a reader with confidence and a hunger for learning, this is a satisfying tome to sink your teeth into.
You should also get his book, The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever! These 2 books are THE best books on the tarot on the market. Dusty also has an amazing course (information can be found in the books). If you are serious about learning the tarot there is no better way! I definitely recommend getting the physical copies of thos book as there are exercises where you will.want to write in the book. With the digital copies you will have to download and print these out. Much easier and better just to n get the physical copies. If you make thw wise choice and buy these books and join the course then maybe I will see you in one of the many study groups!
Just like the easiest way to learn tarot this one is filled with information and advice for reading tarot and casting/building and creating spreads. As someone who reads tarot exclusively for myself I found the emphasis on reading for others unhelpful and a little distracting. However all the advice can be modified for personal practice.
Continuing to marry Logic and Intuition to deepen Tarot Understanding
I read Dusty White's The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot - Ever!! last year, and it was the beginning to my true understanding of how the tarot should work as a truly effective metaphysical tool.
Now I have read Advanced Tarot Secrets (Aphrodite's Book of Secrets) (Volume 2) and I continue my education on how to be the most proficient reader, Ever. I still consider myself pretty novice and I haven't read many other books on the subject, but I know what works for me. Since I picked up the cards a few years ago, I've had the continuing problem of allowing my logical mind (yappy dog) to get in the way of truly tapping into, and trusting my intuition about what the Universe was trying to say to me through the pictures on the cards.
With Dusty's methods (without being preachy or dictatorial) I have been slowly breaking down those perceived walls and have been allowing the voice of the Universe come through more loudly and more clearly, bit by bit. Now, that being said that my progress has been slow (totally MY issue)... I have seen people who have been pretty new, start these exercises and games within the book, practicing diligently... and become almost like tarot reading wizards within a short amount of time! It never ceases to amaze me.
There are parts in this book that particularly interest me... like.. how to solve mysteries, or find lost archeological treasures, or even just to find your keys that you "misplaced". I just can't wait until the time comes I am good enough to get into that more! And, while I am not a writer, there is a spread in there to help writers form up their story lines and characters... I am intrigued by this and see the immediate value. It could be an invaluable tool to organize thoughts and spark imagination.
So, I would recommend this book to those who may have been working with the tarot for a while, maybe you feel stuck, maybe you need a fresh boost in your reading skills, maybe you want to help better the world through your amazing insight. Whatever the reason, this book and the methods and teaching within will help you grow and expand your skills and understanding of what's truly possible using tarot.
If you liked ‘The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever!’, you should get this book.
Reviewing educational books about esoteric subject matters (like this one) is often difficult because the audience you are writing a review for is varied in background, knowledge, and bias. Reviewing this book is easy:
1. If you've read, studied, and practiced 'The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever!' by Dusty White, and liked it, then there is no reason you should not buy this book. If the first book was a 5 star book for you, then this one will be as well.
2. If you have not read the first book, then don't start here! Buy and read the first book if this looks interesting to you.
This book is definitely a continuation that builds on the concepts and material from the first. There is not a section on card meanings here. Card meanings are covered in depth in the prerequisite first book. ‘Advanced Tarot Secrets’ contains five major sections: New Exercises, New Games, Spread Basics, Spread Techniques, and Fun Things. So if you liked doing the games and exercises in the first book, there are new ones here for you. If you wanted to learn more about spreads, there is plenty new to learn here. And, if you want to really dive into some higher level things you can do with the tarot, “Fun Things” is full of techniques to really enhance your readings.
This book is written in the same fun and playful style as Dusty’s other books, so this will not be a chore to read, I promise you!
Advanced Tarot Secrets, achieved its name ingenuously. You could not be partially attuned to any component of the book or it would be to your detriment in advancing your competency and knowledge of the Tarot. 'New Exercises', gave totally fresh meanings to a deck of 78 Tarot cards. It was exciting to interpret the Tarot in such innovative and diverse ways. Included also was a section entitled, 'New Games'. This augmented the cards by increasing our knowledge of card energies and endless possible multiple meanings of the cards within spreads. IT ENDOWED AND EXPANDED YOUR CONSCIOUSNESS IN BOUNDLESS AND NOVEL WAYS. In, 'Advanced Spread Basics', I found, 'What Spread to Use in Any Situation', and 'Dealing out Cards Face Down (how and why)',to be filled with premium, helpful and above grade instruction. For those who live for a challenge the, 'Advanced Spread Techniques', is a definitive must to engage your mental, spiritual, and intuitive talents. 'Fun Things to do with the Tarot', is absolutely fascinating. You really do need to have at least two decks of cards, lots of time, concentration power (focus), insight into yourself and patience. This book is the cream of the Tarot world - to use, learn and discover on your pilgrimage. I thank Dusty White for the many obstacles and challenges presented to me on my quest for and enhanced comprehension of the Tarot.
His books have the ability to take a novice reader and make that person a professional, and a professional even better. Advanced Tarot Secrets is a continuation of The Easiest Way to Learn Tarot Ever! In my opinion, you aren't really studying and learning the Tarot if these two books aren't in your library.
The journey of the Easiest Way to Learn Tarot Ever! culminates in Advanced Tarot Secrets. Dusty takes the reader through exercises to increase intuition, to taking a spread and getting the most out of it possible.
These books have changed me from a reader with experience, to a reader that is confident in her abilities and a reader that is always excited to get to work. I cannot say enough good things about Dusty and his books.
Advanced Tarot Secrets is for anyone that is ready to take their readings to the next level. The truly wonderful thing about Dusty is that he empowers us to trust in ourselves and our abilities, he gives us the ability to grow and find what works for us. My readings and my enjoyment of giving readings has just grown leaps and bounds since studying with Dusty...

As the title states, this book is bursting full of secret knowledge that until now only the best of the best were privy to. So a Massive Thank You goes to author Dusty White for sharing this with the World (along with all the *free* Podcasts, Videos, Lessons etc… etc… etc…!).
I truly cannot recommend Advanced Tarot Secrets highly enough so, if you’re serious about the tarot, you really need to *buy this book!*. I promise that you won’t regret it.
However, I suggest that you read Dusty’s book: The Easiest Way To Learn The Tarot, prior to reading this. Another *must have* book on the tarot: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Easiest-L...
It was with excitement that I recently received my copy of this valuable, insightful book. As the name implies, Advanced Tarot Secrets guides you to deepen your relationship with the cards, sharpen your skills, and further the accuracy and precision of your readings. Hence, the quality of your work with Tarot will multiply exponentially!
This informative, indispensible guide allows you to extract all of the juicy secrets of the Tarot through the use of games and exercises that strengthen your intuition and clarity of vision. The step-by-step instructions, examples, and numerous illustrations simplify complex material and Dusty accomplishes all this with his affable, down-to-earth, approachable manner that makes for easy, fun reading.
If you are like me and have limited resources, you can’t go wrong with purchasing this amazing book. You will not be disappointed!
The book is indeed true to its title. It is definitely advanced. The reader needs to start with Dusty's first book which is fun to read. The Advanced book is very comprehensive and well written, still in the Dusty White trend of informality and humor. But let's not cut corners. It is advanced and a lot of information to chunk down. But this this book is the difference between hot water and boiling water. If you really want to become an exceptional tarot reader, this book is a must. I was specifically interested in the sections on Astrology and manifestation. Very good usable, practical information that can help you to help others. I believe that Dusty's 2 books and his podcasts will enable the novice to achieve greatness. This book is ten times better than any Dummies or Idiot book on Tarot. Well done Dusty!
Advanced Tarot Secrets is the 2nd best Tarot book you will ever buy!
I studied with Dusty White - his Tarot course changed my life. It is amazing - the best tarot book I have ever bought was Dusty's first book - The Easiest Way to learn the Tarot Ever!... He is a master in his domain and he will make Tarot your best friend, confidante and super hero all in one.
I highly highly highly recommend purchasing both his books... you will wonder what you ever did without them!
