Loved it. Second Book in the Edgar's Family Series..

When Matt Edger stops to see why this women is stopped on the side of the road? He has a bad feeling, but follows his protocol. He won’t allow her to leave until she has one cup of hot chocolate before she leaves. She’s not sure what to make of it.
He sees her again, and he really has a bad feeling now. The only thing is Katie refuses to tell him anything. But this time her tire has a flat. The only thing Matt founds it’s not a flat at all. Its something else, but she won’t tell him what happened. Even if she’s in trouble of any kind. Katie is worried now.

Katie doesn't know who to trust. She's been running for a long time. The people after her won't stop until they kill her. When she’s first meets Officer Matt Edgers he seems very nice, but she’s pissed at him for all his questions. He gives him her is card. When One night she has no choice to ask for his help. It’s a dire situation.

While Matt feels compelled to help Katie, he does need some answers. She tells him just the bare minimal. They find themselves running into a trap.

What will Katie do? She is confused at how Matt is treating her. One minute she thinks he likes her, and wants her. But then pulls away. No one has ever wanted her. She’s had a tough childhood, and adult life always on the run.

See where things go. Katie is full aware things aren't easy. She knows these people after her are evil. They won’t stop until they find her. How far can she run?

Fast paced. Lots of Action.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. It was a recommendation by one of the book clubs and it was so up my street. I honestly think Matt is my new book hero, he is everything you could possibly want, heroic, honest, steadfast, loyal, gentle with a slight fragility, and determined, and did I happen to mention he's also HOT! Katie is a lonely soul who's been beaten and broken yet is still on her feet fighting. Their story is one of courage, love and above all trust. Katie's never had anyone to trust and love so breaking down her walls isn't easy or straight forward, but Matt believes she is worth it. He seems to know just what she needs and when she needs it. I loved how he tamped down his anger so as not to scare her, but wasn't afraid to stand his ground when he had to for her own good. Katie's life just about broke my heart and wasn't always an easy read, and when she cried that first time I'm not ashamed to say I cried right along with her. What was apparent throughout the story was that Matt didn't fall in love with her because she'd had a tragic life, it was because he valued the woman she had become because of it. It was truly a fabulous find and these characters and their story will stay with me.

This was book 2 in the "Edgars Family" . This was a pretty good read. Katie Myers is in witness protection but he cover is blown and she doesn't know who to trust. By the book patrolman Matt Edgars is shocked when the woman he's come to rescue points a gun at him and demands he help her leave a crime scene one look at her and he breaks all the rules to help her. These two get close as they try to stay one set ahead of a killer with the help of his brother Luke. I really liked Katie she has been through a lot she Katie was closed off emotionally. When her father died, her mother remarried a man Jacob Strict head of a dangerous militia group. Katie was beaten and taught things no child should know. After Strict bombs a federal building killing fifty people. Katie escapes taking evidence with her she turns it over to the authorities. With her help Strict is sentenced to death and
he promises in front of everyone in the courtroom that he'll find her. Katie has been on the run in witness protection for 10 years. I loved that Matt would do whatever he needs to to keep her safe. These two begin falling in love while on the run. This was a good book that I listened to on audio and I loved the narrators.

Oh my .. I didn't expect to give this rating for this book considering how much I didn't like the first book
Matt and Katie were very nice to follow and watching both of them develop into stronger human beings made swoon a couple of times during the book, Matt is such a sweet heart specially the way he treats her and consider her needs before his without sacrificing his morals, love that
The story is about straight cop Matt and a Katie who has been on the run for the last ten years from her step dad, together they will have to face their fears in order to have a future
now I'm kind excited to continue on with the series, let's see Luke's story :)

Good romantic suspense, expect some male posturing but Katie even with her tragic childhood is a strong character and stands up to Matt’s posturing. Like all books of these kind the characters fall in love quickly and while in peril so just go with it :)

A cult, her Mother brought her to live there, and she then slept with one eye open. The prophet wanted all in his family to have blonde hair, and no leaving. It’s taken ten years to find her, her hair was now dark. Orders were to frighten her, and bring her back. Katie ready to leave in a minute, never making a home, or friends, trying to stay ahead of the Family. Matt was hoping to see Katie again, maybe needing help again. He spotted her, changing a tire, asking her what she heard, a pop. Telling her the tires were almost new, and it was a bullet shot. She had to leave, having few possessions. She can’t file a complaint, it’s Christmas Eve, and it means murder After her short shift as a nurse, witness protection guy could pick her up. How did they find her Tense plot with a touch of romance. Matt as a Sheriff always helping those that need help. Readers will enjoy and want to help her.

A decent book. I'm not sure why I didn't get into as many others did, but it was just good. Other than Katie being one tough cookie, it didn't stand out for me much. I really liked Luke and may read his book at least.

Katie's life has been hell. When her father died, her mother remarried Jacob Strict, a man heading a dangerous militia movement. Katie was beaten and taught things no child should know. However she does what no one else is brave enough to do. After Strict bombed a federal building killing fifty people, Katie escapes taking evidence to turn over to the authorities. With her help, Strict is sentenced to death and promises in front of everyone in the courtroom that he'll find her.

Fast forward ten years. Katie's moved from one place to another under the witness protection program. Strict's execution is coming up and he's found her again.

Matt is a rule follower and a state trooper. He discovers Katie in her vehicle at a stop light where she's fallen asleep after a night shift at the hospital she works. He thinks about her after the meeting and hopes to see her again. A week later he gets his chance. Someone has shot out her tire but she won't tell him who. When she calls him the next day asking for help, Matt decides he'll do whatever he can to help her. Once he learns who she really is, Matt's determined to assist. With the help of his family, they have to discover who the hitman is plus who with the Marshal's office has crossed her. Time is running out.

Matt is a sweetheart. He's really good with Katie and patient. He knows he's falling for her almost immediately. Katie hasn't loved anyone since her dad. But the tenderness and kindness Matt shows her, has her feeling things for Matt she's never felt before.

This was the second book in this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great catching up with the other family members and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Satisfyingly good

I think I am now more invested in this series after listening to the second book. Especially the villain in this one. Who doesn't love reading about the threat of a rise and eventual fall of a cult leader? I am one of them. It took me longer to finish this as I have squeezed my listening time with audiobooks lately.

Our heroine, Katie, found herself in a traffic accident when Matt Edgars, a traffic enforcer, approached her. Despite feeling that spark of attraction, they thought it would be a one-time encounter until she realized that her past was haunting her again. She called Matt for help, having left with no other choice. Together, they worked on facing head-on with the threat before it was too late, especially for Katie.

I love the thought that Ms. Ferrell writes heroines who are strong, determined, and resourceful. Katie sure is no exemption. The only difference is that And it is just right that she met someone who understood and accepted her and had a warm, welcoming, and thoughtful family.

I immediately proceeded with the novella written after this book. Nothing truly beats a familial, romantic, and action-packed love story!

I thought the first book in this series was great but Hunted (the second book) is even better! Matt Edgars is a highway patrolman who stops to help Katie when she falls asleep in the snow covered roads waiting on a stop signal. As soon as he sees her is is instantly attracted to her and wants to know more about her. Matt is a by the book kind of guy and Katie has some big secrets from her past. Matt is so good with Katie and helping her to learn to trust him, and of course he is a really good guy. But Katie, wow, she pulls at your emotions!!! Her past is horrific but she is such a strong person, you hurt for her but also you cheer for her! This book brought tears to my eyes many times, but it also has humor and great suspense!!! Love love love all the siblings, brother in law and of course you get to meet the US Marshall Frank Castello, who you will fall in love with. I can't say enough good things about this book, great characters, suspensful story, romantic, sexy, emotional! You will not regret reading this book.

Hunted is a suspense/romance book where the main character, Katie was in witness protection for the past ten years after providing incriminating evidence against the paramilitary cult which she was a part of. As a result of her testimony, the cult leader was given the death penalty. With the leader's impending execution, Katie received several death threats and desperation forced her to turn to Matt, a by-the-book patrolman for help. Katie and Matt were attempting to stay alive while trying to figure out who was trying to kill Katie. Katie was a brave and determined heroine who was lonely and scarred from the multiple abuses inflicted by the cult leader. Matt was very protective of Katie. The book could have been better if the writer paid more attention to editing. I am not talking only about typos. For example, Katie was hiding in a hospital while waiting for the Marshall but there was a sentence that incorrectly stated that she was hiding in a hotel room.

I love this series.. Katie Myers lived a childhood of hell growing up in a cult compound. After the leader blew up a building killing many she got the courage to steal evidence to convict him and then testified against him. His final threat to her was he would see her dead before he was put to death.

Years later Katie has been found. She doesnt know who to trust so she takes the highway patrolman, Matt Edgars, by gunpoint to help her. Matt is a by the book policeman and Katie has him breaking all the rules for her safety.

Katie was an interesting heroine - she was equal parts tough, very knowledge able in guns and explosives and yet suffered from flashbacks of the beatings and torcher she went through during her life on the compound. Katie faces many fears to bring down the men determined to kill her.

Good entry to the Edgars Family Series. Matt Edgars finds a damsel in distress and saves her. Oh, you want more detail? Ok, then. The lady has escaped a cult, has been betrayed by everyone she's ever met and is on the run from cult members who have sworn revenge. This is a good story. Matt meets the lady, is captivated by her, and she runs away - until she needs a quick escape. Somehow, she finds the strength to let him into her world - just a little.

They could be overmatched since she doesn't know how to find her pursuers. She hasn't reckoned on the Edgars Family's assistance, however.

This one is more believable than the Kidnapped story, but it's not as good, in my opinion. Still, a good entry to the series.

Start with a trial that puts a man on death row, add in a witness that is in the protective custody of the US Marshalls, and what do you get? A story that is packed with action, twists and turns, and one that you'll quickly read to find out what's going to happen next.

Katie Myers has been in the witness protection program. She hasn't been able to stay anywhere longer than a few months at a time. Now she's not even sure that she can be protected. Enter Matt Edgars, a totally "by the rules" person who sees everything in black and white. Will he realize in time that he's got to see some gray area?

This fast paced book by Suzanne Ferrell is another winner in the Edgars' family series. The characters from the first book make a return appearance and it seems time has gone on. It's nice to see where they are now. This is a quick read where characters are easy to connect to.

Ms. Ferrell continues the Edgars Family story with a spell binding, you can't put it down, suspense filled romance! Matt Edgars and his brothers come together to help nurse Katie Myers. A woman whose past is littered with pain and tragedy, but a fighter and survivor through it all.
This spell binder finds Katie in the cross hairs of the angel of retribution of a defunct militia like cult. The leader, on death row, is Katie's step father. He wants revenge from the woman that put him there.
The threads of this thriller wrap around you and pull you in to the world of terrorism, US Marshals, betrayal, and vengeance. It is definitely a book hangover type of book, because once you start, you don't want to put it down. It's well worth five stars, and if they'd let me, I'd give it more!

Suzanne Ferrell never disappoints! Hunted was remarkable!

Katie's horrific journey is deeply disturbing, emotional and heartbreaking! Yet, this strong, brave, resiliemt and admirable young woman is a hero! This book has many triggers, but the cruelty and torture are sensitively written in a "matter-of-fact" low key style! What's is remarkable about the book is how she physically and mentally survived those ordeals! With a the help of the U.S. Marshalls, heartthrob Highway Patrolman Matt and his brother luke, Katie stays alive and brings justice to the evil pyschopaths!
This thriller is superb and has a nice romantic tension that balances and enhances story!
I can't wait for Suzannes next masterpiece!

Hunted is a fast paced romance filled with intrigue. Matt is a lawman who always goes by the book until he meets Katie and throws the rule book out the window. Katie has lived a tortured life and has learned not to trust others. Can Matt help her see some people are worthy of her trust? Can Katie finally find the love that has been missing from her life? Can they both heal together? Be ready to read this book in one sitting because you won't want to put it down! Its worth whatever sleep you might lose to finish this book! Ms. Ferrell has now been added to my list of must read authors and I bet she will be to yours too!

Great book, read it almost all the way through in one sitting. Did have some editing errors which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Also, I pretty much had things figured out midbook, and I'm not the type of reader who works hard to figure things out ahead of time, it was that easy. That did reduce some of the mystery and suspense of it all...Despite these issues, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and didn't want to put it down....but it was 6 am and I needed to go to sleep for the night. This series is best read in order, though it's not necessary. I highly recommend this author and the Edgar brothers series to those who like romantic suspense.

Matt and Katie were from VERY different worlds. Very different in almost every way. One night their paths cross when he is patrolling and she fell asleep at the wheel. He was immediately taken with her, couldn't shake her. Then, they cross paths again. This time he can see she needs help and is scared but won't let him in. She is running and has been for years, in witness protection. But now someone is trying to kill her, so she has no one to turn too. So she lets Matt be her hero. She isn't so willing to trust easily so there is a lot of push and pull and very bad frustrating decisions. In the end they get their HEA. Lots of action, mystery, love and family. Narration was great!

I love a book that grabs your attention right from the beginning. That's what Suzanne Ferrall does with this story. I felt myself feeling for the Characters, like I was going through everything that they were. Some unexpected twists and turns that have you bitting your nails and hoping nothing bad happens.

Katie had a very traumatic childhood. The torture and horror that she was put through, only to come out strong. In her journey she meets Matt. Who becomes her protector, her rock, her love. They beat the bad guys and come out on top.

I would recommend this book to anyone.

A strong man a stronger woman

Katie and Matt. A love story and an adventure. She survived a living hell....and then year after year she still remained hidden from the evil she knew watched for her.

Matt pulled over to inspect a car on the side if the road. Inside, a sleeping woman with the car still running. He asks for ID then asks her to get out of the car for a "drunk" test.

She is furious but he can't take his eyes off the woman and it has nothing to do with law enforcement business.

Neither could imagine what was coming their way.

Wowza! Fantastic story!

As a survivor of abuse, I admire this woman! What strength and resilience without becoming bitter. And he's perfect for her. The bad guys are perfectly evil, and the author guarantees we hate them as much as we love the H/h.

The plot was fantastic! It moved when there was action, eddied for character growth or development. And the romance fit so smoothly with the plot advancement.

Contains one sex scene, some taking the Lord's name in vain, and one F word.

This time the by the book highway patrolman brother meets someone who makes him want to break the rules. It is tight with tension as Katie runs from an assassin and Matt tries to help her. Matt and Katie dance around their attraction to each other before succumbing. Matt is afraid she’s not ready and Katie is afraid that no one really wants her. The cult leader that she helped convict is scheduled to die but wants her dead before that happens. The final act that the desperate former cult leader plans is truly scary.

Weaving a good solid romance story with an action suspends story, isn’t easy. You don’t have as much room for character development like you do in a strictly romance. And when writing a suspense thriller, you need to make room for the relationship to blossom. Sometimes either the relationship telling or the scenario thriller gets compensated or washed out. This is a good romance suspense story. It isn’t perfect because the romance is fighting with the suspense part of the storyline but it’s solid.
