This is the first book in the anthology Midnight Ink, it does a great job of setting up the tattoo shop that is the location for the stories. I am betting at least three of the supporting charterers in this story will get their HEA in the other tales.
I really like Chavon and Burke, they are engaging characters who make you root for them. You enter the story with their romance already in progress, and yup they break up. Three years later we find them both in the same city, sigh, I dig a nice reunited lovers theme. The re-meet is kinda sweet. I loved the way they were set up by friends. My favorite thing is Chavon's reaction! Perfection!!
Yummy steamy action!!! Oh yeah, these two are seriously hot and heavy!! They get back into the sack quickly, but they have both been thinking about the other all this time. The smexy stuff has a rough undertone, sigh, pull the hair, slap the butt! Have the cold shower ready!!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Gregory Salinas, delicious as always!! He has a great voice that is just rough and gruff enough to set panties on fire!! He does wonders for Shep, yup I can not wait for him to record his book!! Great pace adds energy to the read, oh boy, does it add energy to the smexy stuff!! The man gives good voice!
Overall it is a really enjoyable little read, the fact it is so short is my only real complaint. You get a sense of the characters but do not get to spend a great deal of time with them. I always want a good story to be longer. There is so much story left untold. I think I need to read the rest of the anthology to see how the others fair and if these two pop up again.
Disclosure - I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions and ratings are my own.
Jayne Rylon'sReport for Booty was one sexy short story that packed a punch. Ms. Rylon quickly builds the story and gets to the nitty gritty as Burke and Chavon find their way back to each other. Read More. . . http://www.blackravensreviews.com/aud...
I listened to the Audio book and it very easily held my attention. With just under two hours of audio, it was a nice quick story before bed!
Knowing that Burke and Chavon were given a second chance at love on New Years Eve, tugged at my heart strings. I am a huge sucker for second chance love and these two had it in spades.
Burke pushed Chavon away when he was deployed over seas. He didn't want her to be stuck wondering if he was ok, if he was alive. Chavon was pissed and heartbroken that Burke made her a war widow before he even was in the battle.
Chavon needed a new start after the rough dumping. Burke was the love of her life, her soul mate, and her forever. She picked up and moved to New Orleans where she wondered the streets at night after work, taking beautiful pictures of the landscapes in reflective puddles. She hated going home after work to an empty house. One night Chavon wondered into Midnight Ink and talked Shep (from the Montgomery Ink crew) into tattooing Burke's name on her butt.
Fast forward two years and Burke shows up at Midnight Ink to get Chavons name inked on his butt. He wasn't sure if Shep could tattoo the scar tissue from where he was hit by the IED that put him into early retirement from the military. Chavon gave Burke a reason to learn how to walk, talk and live again!
Sassy and Shep became fast friends with Chavon and they set her and Burke up to meet New Years Eve to rekindle their love.
Lots of kissing and hot sex later, Burke proposes and they start their new life together with heart and lock tattoo that Chavon had the key tattooed for.
This story plays well into Carrie Ann Ryan's series as a compliment, providing back story to 0.5 and 0.6 Novellas. I would read Midnight Ink before going into the world of the Montgomery's!!!

This was a very quick novella that starts out with Burke breaking up with Chavon before he heads off to war. He didn't want to make her wait around for him or make her a military widow so this was his ridiculous way of saving her the heartache if something happened to him. Chavon packs up right after the break up and moves away, not leaving a forwarding address. So when he comes looking for her later, she's just gone and he has no way of getting a hold of her.
Years later he has decided to get a tattoo and while looking at the portfolio of the tattoo artist he discovers his name was tattooed on a woman's backside. The tattoo artist can hardly believe that both people unknowingly came to him at different times for tattoos but he agrees to pass along Burke's info to Chavon and it's up to her what she wants to do with it.
I do like a second chance romance and while this didn't have much story to it, I did enjoy how the story unfolded and the ending was great.
This second chance romance has to be one of my favorites. It’s pretty awesome how Burke and Chavon come back together. I would love more if their story though. Please tell me there’s more!!!!
My first time reading Rylon, but I will be looking for her other novels.
This is a sexy, quick novella, but it didn't feel too rush, like many novellas are. I felt like Burke and Chevron were perfect for each other, and they are well on their way to a HEA, even after all those years apart.
Touching and sweet, but with more than enough sizzle to keep me interested, Reporting for Booty was a solid read!
I read this as part of the Midnight Ink anthology.
WOW. This was so not what I was expecting. I've read a couple of Jayne's other works and they were steamy off the charts. I was thinking this was going to be short and steamy but it was so much more than that. It was seriously emotional and I shed both sad and happy tears, in that order. It was amazing to me how quickly Jayne was able to get me invested in the characters raw emotions. So well written Jayne. Highly recommended.
A very sweet story about noble intentions, the power of love and inevitable destiny. The book touches on injuries and recovery from IED explosions. In addition to the deep romance, there's a nice heat factor and the sex scenes are explicit but not graphic.
I read this book in the book set of Midnight Ink. It is great story I understand why he did her that way he did but on the other hand she waited to stand beside him and will always. Report for Booty
Book 1/8, by Jayne Rylon, a good 5. I'd be willing to read more. But I'll settle for reading more of this author. The Wounded Warrior Project is very dear to my heart. This story also reminds us that TRUE LOVE will prevail no matter the trauma life throughs us. Truly two thumbs up!
Read as part of the Midnight Ink anthology. Quick read. It had a great story base and could have been a great story but turned into a cheasy story that was trying to hard.
