This book was amazing! Christy's books keep getting better and better. Trust Again is the 2nd book in the LOVE AGAIN COLLECTION and it's sweet, delightful and filled with moments that you are sure to remember.

Ellie came home to take over her dad's candy shop. However, she wants to have it as a candy/toy store so her father hires a handyman Jake to do the job. The moment she meets Jake she's interested in him and is surprised by that considering her past relationship.

Let me just say, you will love Ellie. She's sweet, kind, caring, loves candy, kids and is wonderful person with a good heart despite everything she had going on in her life. She's just a wonderful lady.

Jake didn't plan on doing handyman work, but that's what he has at the moment for a job. He doesn't realize he will be working for a woman and that causes some internal issues with him.. that is until he sees her and then he's a goner! He wants to finally have a relationship with a woman after he was hurt in the past, but will Ellie allow them to?

JAKE! Let me just say.. woah! You will seriously fall in love with this man. He's sweet, caring, loves candy, charming, romantic and is everything you would want in a man. All his plans, trips and gifts are wonderful and thought with Ellie in mind. I loved watching him want to be a better man for her and make her happy. I just loved that.
I don't give spoilers but there will be yummy candy and flour involved at times.. and yummy.* <3 :) :)
Jake will definitely be your new book boyfriend!

You will see characters from the previous book and you will love seeing more of them and what is going on in their lives. I enjoyed reading/seeing what was happening with them.

This book is a fabulous contemporary read. You will be laughing, be sad, shocked and more while reading!

Christy has made Trust Again a book filled with yummy candy, toys and a sexy wonderful man that it will leave you smiling and wishing you were Ellie Olliver!

Wonderfully done! I would recommend this book to any candy lover and anyone who loves a true Contemporary Romance.

5 stars!

Trust Again (Love Again Collection) by Christy Newton

'Trust Again' is the second of the 'Love Again' collection and continues with another sweet romance in Pleasant Valley Indiana.

Naive and full of dreams Ellie left the small town where she grew up heading for the bright lights of New York only to have her life shattered. When after a seven year absence her father asks her to come home and take over his toy story she finally manages to escape the clutches of her controlling abusive lover. Desperate to start over Ellie looks forward to running her toy store but first it needs remodelling. When she meets her builder, Jacob their attraction is instant but unwanted. Neither will act on their attraction too damaged by their previous relationships.

This story addresses harsh issues of abuse, mental illness and addiction sensitively. It is a romantic tale of love's healing power and learning to live again. A fast paced plot full of conflicts puts Ellie and Jacob's fledgling love affair in perpetual jeopardy. Two wounded souls together they learn to open their hearts and share their tragic secrets but can their love survive when the past comes to call.

Ellie and Jacob are likeable characters and it's good to see the 'nice' people finding true happiness. The secondary characters introduced in the first book enhance the story and reinforce the small town setting.

For lovers of 'fairytale' ending small town romance this is for you. A short pleasant read which will make you smile.

I received a copy of this book from the author via Verna Loves Books in exchange for an honest review.

This was a super quick read, but it was also super sugary sweet! I fell in love with the characters and loved the progression of their relationship. Without going into a summary of the story, which has already been done, I'll just say that I may never look at flour the same way again. I love that the Heros of Christy's books are such great guys. She really gives the reader characters to love and root for. I also enjoy the strong family bonds and relationships she writes into her stories. I love the simple dates mixed with the creative, thoughtful, and romantic dates and gifts. Guys should read this to get some ideas!

Escaping an abusive boyfriend, Ellie Oliver flees from the busy city of New York to the quiet town of her childhood: Pleasant Valley. All she wants to do is open up a candy and toy store and begin her life anew. Romance is the last thing on her mind until she meets Jacob Jones, the man she contracts to help get her shop in tip-top shape for opening day. Can they learn to trust each other, or will they remain alone and broken?

Trust Again is a sweet story of--as you might of guessed--trust. It's a good book to curl up in bed with with a mug of warm tea. It moves along well, and it's impossible not to like Ellie, who is definitely "sweeter than the candy she sells." 4.5 stars.

Trust Again, by Christy Newton, is the second book in the Love Again Collection. It's a feel good romance that reminds us all it's never too late to find the right one. Toys, jelly beans, and a gorgeous hunk who can build stuff. What's not to love? I look forward to the third book in the series. Great job!

The cover art is spot on ! Ellie has strawberry hair and the pretty gal on the cover is exactly how I'd picture Ellie to be :)  The dedication to her mum is heart warming ♥

We meet Ellie on the run , after years of abuse, many hospital visits and stays Ellie has had enough and grabs the oppertunity with hands to run. I'm so proud of you Ellie !

Leaving New York Ellie heads back home to the small town, where she grew up, Pleasant Valley,Indiana. Her father owns a toystore (in which she grew up-lucky kid) and he wants to retire so he's asked her to take over the reigns. This was the perfect oppertunity that Ellie needed to escape Bryce , what an ass hat * grrrrr*Elliehas a small apartment with a colorful and friendly neighbour , Viola aka ''Malibu barbie'' and as is typical or comforting of small towns , some thing just never change like Ginger and her delicious sickerdoodles ♥

Mr Oliver , Ellie's dad is lovingly described as Geppetto which I just loved ♥♥♥♥ he hires Jacob to do the expansion and changes to the store. I just fell in love with this elderly gentleman and his toystore . I got all nostalgic just thinking of it and once Ellie does her changes I'm a lost cause all that was missing was the book section and I'd be in heaven♥

Jacob has had his fair share of loss and heartache recently. His mum passed away,he gets laid off from work and to put the cherry on top his wife cheats on him  but things start looking up when he lands the job at Oliver's the only thing I don't think he expected was the 'strawberry curved' Ellie and the effect she would have on him ♥

Trust Again is about 2 hurt but beautiful people who need and deserve a do over. They need to learn to trust and love again. There were a few tense moments when Bryce found Ellie but there 's also serious kleenex moments when broken hearts are shared. There is a special and unexpected little gift given to Ellie and Jacob and it was love at first read for me ♥

Trust Again was a quick ★★★★★ read . A word of warning though , make sure there is no short supply of jellybeans and snickerdoodles ! Ellie created a little sugar monster in me xxx

This is the sweetest love story I have read in a long time. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned!

As soon as Ellie became an adult, she fled the small town she had been raised in. Her mother had long ago abandoned her and her father. Her father owned and ran a local toy store. Ellie moved into the big city of New York with high hopes. That is until she found Bryce. He was mean and abusive to Ellie. After being gone for seven years, Ellie finally found the strength and opportunity to leave her evil boyfriend and return home. Ellie’s father needed hip surgery and was ready to retire. Ellie was excited at the prospect of being away from Bryce and helping her father out. She never told a soul about her relationship and was determined to never trust another man again with her heart or her body. And this is where our story begins.

Ellie’s dad hires a contractor, Jacob to remodel the store for Ellie. She has big dreams for the store and wants to have an addition added to make it a toy and candy store all in one. Jacob is new in town. His mother just passed away and he had no strings keeping him where he was. His best friend Ryan and his wife lived locally and that’s how he got the job with the remodel for Ellie. Jacob was married to a woman he poured his heart and soul into until he found out she was cheating. They divorced and it left him untrusting of anyone with his heart.

When Jacob and Ellie meet, they both feel attracted to one another but the ghosts from their pasts are still haunting them. Neither wants to trust again and possibly suffer another shattered heart. One blind date, lots of candy, a lightning strike, a huge twist of fate, a reunion, and a Christmas present (that made me cry) later, I am at the end of the book and in love with it! I was so happy that I read this book! If you are looking for a sweet and touching story, I recommend you 1-click this baby today! It was well written and you feel so connected to the characters. Loved it!

Ellie is running from an abusive relationship and has no desire to date in the near future. She doesn't trust easily. She gave her trust once and it didn't quite work out the way she had planned.

Jacob is starting over after being heartbroken by his cheating ex-wife. His plans do not include dating or any type of relationships in the near future but the minute he sees Ellie his mind goes into overload. He is so infatuated he can't get her off of his mind.

This story is about two injured souls trying to find one another thru all of life's twists and turns. It has suspense, romance and just the right touch of humor. The author does a good job at making the story flow. The writing will keep you turning each page with anticipation This is the second book in the series.

And I would recommend this book.

Ellie Oliver returns to her hometown in Indiana to run her father's toy store so he can retire. She hasn't been home in seven years, and is running from terrible things that happened to her while in New York. Because of this, she vows to never trust anyone again.

Jacob Jones has moved to Indiana after his mother dies. His best friend, Ryan, lives there with his pregnant wife and daughter. They are the only family he has. Jacob is also carrying around hurt from his past, and never wants to get hurt like that again.

And then Jacob meets Ellie...... The spark is undeniable. The desire to jump in calls to them. But can they trust one another with the hurts from their pasts?

"He smelled like naughty and nice rolled into one."

How can you resist wanting to get to know THAT? And that's where I'll leave you with my review. If you are looking for a short and sweet book to give you that happy feeling, this is the book for you! The characters of Jacob and Ellie are so sweet you just want to hug them both. (I can honestly say I will never be able to look at making cookies the same way again.

They have secrets that could potentially destroy the budding relationship the both so desperately want to build.

What are those secrets? What happened to make Jacob and Ellie so scared to build a relationship? Will they tell their secrets before they come to explode in their face? I'll never tell..... ~A

Oh my goodness! This is the second book in the Love Again collection and WOW****it is so good! It is such a sweet romantic love story. The storyline is full of heart and spirit. An immediate bond and love for each character developed as I started to read.I had to know what was going to happen and if there was going to be a happy ever after. Every character is strong and supportive to the soul of the story. My emotions were all over the place as I read. Which to me is a good thing. I felt the pain and heartbreak- then cheered and melted when trust and love was rekindled. There were lines and events in this story that I have placed at the top of my favorite lists. A teddy bear will always make me think of this story. I will forever sing "if all the raindrops were jelly bean." I highly recommend!!! No disappointment! So excited for the next one!!! AndreaAH

Ellie Oliver left her hometown of Pleasant Valley, Indiana for New York. While living there she met Bryce. He controlled her and beat her even to the point of putting her in the hospital several times. Trust Again by Christy Newton picks up where Ellie is planning her escape from Bryce. She moves back to take over her dad's toy store. Jacob Jones moves to Pleasant Valley to be near his best friend and to get away from his past. He had only loved one woman, the woman he married and thought he would spend the rest of his life with that is until she cheated on him. When Ellie and Jacob meet there is definitely chemistry but Ellie is afraid to trust again. Their past catches up with both of them and but can they both learn to trust again? This book was a real page turner for me, and I would definitely recommend it.

Another amazing book by Christy Newton.

Ellie leaves her abused boyfriend whom she lives with in New York and comes back to the small quiet town she was brought up in where her dad lives. Her dad wants her to take over his toy store which she does with some renovations and adding another part that she also totally loves a candy shop added on. Her contractor Jacob has just recently moved back too the small town where his close friend lives. Both of them in difficult trust issues for different reasons they try and chance it but who knows if either of them will ever be able to trust again? Loved all the characters and loved the surprises throughout the book. Loved Christy's book always a joy to read her books. Way to go Christy another hit.

Awww Jacob and Ellie....these are two characters that you instantly feel invested in right from the beginning.

I love reading a book where the characters are people you want to know, want to share in their life and I can honestly say that Ms Newton has produced two characters exactly like that.

I have to say I'm never disappointed when I pick up a Christy Newton book. I know I'm going to come away with the feel good factor that I feel, you are supposed to come away with when you read. Although there's angst and difficult situations in her stories, they get resolved and there's a HEA. I've never walked away from one of her books thinking wtf or disappointed.

Thank you, Christy Newton for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

This was a story about Ellie and Jacob learning to let go and trust again. Both Ellie and Jacob were broken from past relationships. Letting of go of the past and moving on was difficult for them.

I hated Bryce for all the terrible things he did to Ellie over the past few years. He claimed to love her and if he couldn’t have her nobody will. It left her with nightmares. My heart went out to her for what she had gone through.

I loved that the location for the story and how it was set in a small town. Christy totally painted a pretty picture of the toy and candy shop and Ginger Snaps. It is a place that I would like to go visit one day.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

Fleeing from an abusive relationship Ellie leaves New York to return home to Indiana to take over the family toy store. She decides to make improvements to the store. Her dad hires Jacob to do the renovations. Jacob has also been burned in the love department. What starts out as a work relationship quickly turns into something more. They do encounter a few bumps along the way but can they get past the troubles to Trust Again?

Trust Again is the second book in the Love Again Collection and it is a 5 star read.
Tender, sweet, an overall great read. I can't wait for the third book in the series.

Jake and Ellie.....ah what can I say. They are both such likeable people. Christy Newton is excellent at writing characters that you want to read about, you want to follow their journey, you want them to have their dreams come true.

This book is well written, editing is top notch, the story flows and it really is a book deserving of 5 stars. It's a book I would read again.

Congratulations Ms Newton on a lovely book, your writing just gets better and better.

This is a nice feel good romance about two people learning to... Trust Again. Ellie is ashamed of the past she is running from and wants to hide it. Jake starts out seeming like a jerk, but as we know from the previous book he's just a teddy bear who wants to find love. Watching these two navigate a professional and personal relationship is exciting.

I look forward to reading the next in this series.

4 stars. You can always rely on Christy Newton to make you feel good after reading one of her books and this was no exception. We met Jacob in her book Begin Again and it was nice he got his HEA after having his heart stomped on. Ellie was running back home from an abusive relationship and the second chance of love was adorable and sweet. This was another great read with all the characters we had come to love in the first book.

Ellie and Jacob's story was cute. Ellie ran from an abusive relationship back home. Jacob was recovering from his own personal heartbreak. Both of them needed to learn to trust each other. It was told very quickly and flowed well. Overall a decent, short read.

This is my 3 snowflake review for Trust Again by Christy Newton for Eskimo Princess Book Blog.
Trust Again follows the path of Ellie Oliver as she rebuilds her life after running away from an abusive boyfriend to take over her retiring father’s toy store. Her father has wanted her to come back to Pleasant Valley Indiana so she could be closer to him and not in the big city of New York. She never told her father about Bryce the man who abused her. Will she be able to hide from Bryce in Indiana or will he find her no matter where she runs?
Jacob Jones is starting over in Pleasant Valley after he was laid off from his construction job in Illinois. His friend Ryan is from Indiana so that is where he heads. He has a lot of trust issues too; he is broken and not looking for love, just a job. When he is offered a job to remodel the local toy store, he can’t pass up the offer. Will Jacob find more than just a job when he meets the new owner, Ellie? Will Ellie ever be able to trust again?
This book was a very fast read for me. I found the book very fast paced. I found that Jacob really was a sweetheart. Ellie was sweet but so reserved. I did struggle with this book keeping my attention. The plot was good but I believe my problem was just the pace of the book I just couldn’t get into it. I felt that there needed to be more description or more feelings. Overall it was an okay read for me but Kudos to the author for writing a respectful book she can still be proud of.
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The story sucked me in and for a while I really felt like I was in Ellie's shoes. My big problem with the story is how quickly Ellie and Jacob get together after being unsure if they could ever trust anyone again, especially Ellie. Under the circumstances of the book it was just really impossible to believe. All the romance stuff was done well, but the time frame was too short for believability.
