Second Chances #3

Every Little Dream

Needing excitement…

I do not want to spend the rest of my life drawing hearts in the fogged-up glass where I waitress. I’m ready for more, for excitement, for a guy who wants more than the typical marriage and kids, blah, blah, blah. Boring. When Chad crashes into my life—literally—he’s everything I’ve been looking for and more. But I can’t help but wonder where he goes and what he does when he’s late for our dates or misses them altogether. It’s time to grab hold of that excitement and find out.

Needing escape…

Ever since my last bad break-up I’ve been a love ’em and leave ’em kind of guy. But when Katie enters my life like some kind of beautiful vision of purity and innocence—everything I’m not—I want to be with her, and find myself doing crazy stuff like bowling and mini-golf and having fun. Except my dad has put the squeeze on my life, forcing me into an internship or I lose my trust fund. I hope Katie trusts me and doesn’t start snooping because the work I’m doing isn’t exactly safe and her life could be in danger if she gets caught.

(Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to author Kate Ashton.)
This is book 3 in the ‘second chances’ series, but can be read as a standalone.
Katie is looking for a little excitement and adventure in her life when she meets Chad, the bad-boy with a smile, who rescues her from some unwanted attention.
Chad has troubles of his own though in the form of his father who seems determined to make him a part of the family business.
Can Chad break free from his father’s controlling ways? And can Katie ever be a bad girl?

This was a good YA contemporary romance, with a little bit of action.

Katie was a girl who followed the rules, and wanted for once to be the bad girl, and get a little excitement. I liked the way she tried to be bad but still had that sweetness to her, and I thought that she played her part perfectly to get Chad to fall for her.

The storyline in this was good, and we got a little excitement along with the romantic storyline. I liked the storyline concerning Chad and his father, although I worried that everyone involved in this book made pretty major mistakes at times.
The romance in this was done well, and the characters fell in love slowly. The chemistry between them was nice, and things didn’t move too fast. I was a little disappointed that we never got more than a couple of kisses between these two, but they were pretty sweet together.
The ending was good, and although I would have liked to have seen a bit more of this couple happy together, the ending did give us hope that they had a bright future.
Overall; a good YA contemporary romance.
7.5 out of 10.

Every Little Dream was a little better than the previous one.

I wasn't a fan of Chad in Every Little Secret and I though he's reckless and inconsiderate. And what do you know, he is. But we get a reason why he's the way he is.

I can relate to Chad when it comes to narcissistic fathers and the heavy load of expectations and that made me understand him better. Yet, it's when he is with Katie that I don't recognize his personality. I thought this whole set-up with them being together to polish Chad's reputation was not necessary. I still don't see the couple as OTP type of characters or maybe because I didn't particularly like Katie.

Overall, it was a slight improvement from the previous one. still the first one remains my facorite.

Every Little Dream was an okay read, but it was my least favourite in the series.

I didn't like Chad in the last book, but in this one he wasn't so bad. I still didn't love him, but he defiantly made an improvement.

The pacing in this one was fine, but I just couldn't get interested in it as much as I did with the others.

Overall, Okay, but the not the best.

I was sent a copy of Every Little Dream by Kate Ashton and it only took me a few hours to read! I absolutely loved Kate's first two books, Every Little Piece and Every Little Secret and I was not let down with Every Little Dream! I was so excited when I found out I would be learning more about Chad, who was introduced in book two. I really did not like him, when he was first introduced as Carly's boyfriend in Every Little Secret, but as I learned more about their relationship, I knew he was not what he appeared to be. Chad is the rough and tough type who seems to be in trouble a lot and doesn't care who or how he hurts people. However, we quickly learn, things are not always as they seem! Chad did not have the best childhood and his relationship with his father is very rocky, but all it will take is the right person to set him on the right path and find the love he didn't know he had always been craving. Katie is the sweet, country girl who wants to add some excitement to her life and she thinks that the drop-dead sexy Chad is the one to fulfill her dreams. She quickly learns that there is a side to Chad that she wasn't expecting and their relationship has a ton of ups and downs. I was totally captivated with Every Little Dream from the second I started to read it. As always, Kate Ashton has worked her magic and sweeps you right into her story and you feel as if you are apart of her characters. You feel their every emotion, you laugh, cry and get angry when they do. I fell in love with Katie and Chad and I loved being apart of their journey in love and life. Life isn't always as it seems, so we need to live every day to the fullest and these two proved that. I hope that there will be a book for Justine and she will finally find the love she deserves! Thank you Kate for another amazing book!

Every little dream by Kate Ashton was an amazing book that I really enjoyed. It had humor and mystery along with romance which is my favorite. I love how Chad changes and evolves through out the novel and that Katie helps him do so. They really were fighting for there love and just hoping that it would work out. I would highly recommend this book and the series if you like romance novels with some mystery involved.

I'm not a big fan of novellas, but I LOVED Every Little Dream. I couldn't stop reading it. The trouble I have with novellas is that they're short. This one was both riveting and long enough to keep me satisfied. The chemistry between Chad and Katie helped too. If you haven't read Kate's other stories, that's not a problem. The one is the perfect standalone story.

Unfortunately not one of my favorite books. Chad and Katie had no chemistry. I couldn't get invested in them so honestly I finshed reading it just so I don't have a DNF. The first book was the best one in this series and I hate that. I love findng new autbors. But this one just didn't do it for me in this serious.

In love with Chad and Katie

This book needed another edit, but Chad and Katie's story was fantastic!!
I GatesHead in her last book with him, but he's been redeemed here. It's always so refreshing to take a peek into the lives of secondary characters.
Thank you Ms Ashton for these wonderful stories!

Chad is a completely different person in this book. Katie is adorable and you can't help but like her. These two are complete opposites and bring out something different in each other. Katie gets her excitement and Chad learns that there is more to dating then hooking up.

What a great story! Nothing feels as good as a happy ending... Even though again, the story takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, it's amazing!!

Great Series!

I really enjoyed The Second Chances Series. I liked how each book could be read alone...even though I read them all!
