Layer Series
Layers More Layers Beneath Layers Beyond Layers Sam's story
To avoid major confusion, hair pulling and or Kindle throwing—books should be read in order.
Life is funny. I’m not referring to the “ha, ha, ha” kind of funny. I’m referring to the “who would have guessed?” or the “no freakin' way” kind of funny. No way would I have ever believed that I would get a second chance at love. And no friggin' way would I have ever guessed it would begin in Vegas. I mean, come on girlfriend!
Vegas is the place where you lose your mind, your inhibitions, and your next month’s rent. Vegas isn’t where you go to learn truths, rethink your choices, and reconnect.
But then again, this is me we are talking about. So welcome to Vegas or…as they say—Viva Las Vegas, baby.

4* stars for this part
The second book of the series More Layers begins over two and half years after the end of the first book this part had many surprises/twists and very intense emotions. As the first one, so this part didn't disappoint at all and i have to say the author did a great job and raised the level even more, the ending had a BIG cliffhanger so now i can't even imagine what is going to happen in the next installment.
The whole book had many elements besides twists, it had many secrets, lots of humor and hot explicit scenes and the pace i can say it was steady. Alexia continues to be a badass character and now is even more because it's not just her to think now. On the other hand Jaxson..well i have to say it, i was a little frustrate at first by his actions and later maybe...(ok a lot) but when i learned what was going on i began to loving again his character and i learn that not everything it what it seems to be, i just have to be patient. Furthermore once again Jules and her explicit conversations with Alexia were the highlights of the book, i can't wait to start reading the third and final part of the series.
This story picks up about two and a half years after Layers ended. Alexia had been raising her twin boys (JB & Chase) in London but now she is relocating part of her company and her family to New York. Jules and Nick (aka Ken) are getting married in Vegas and Lex is maid of honor while Jax is the best man, now you know they haven't spoken since she showed up at his hotel room to tell him she was pregnant and saw his ex-wife there. A LOT of things are said between the two when they finally get to talk and so many secrets come out, its like the universe is playing a bad joke on them with the chain of events that happen in the first half of the book. There were some laugh out loud moments again but this time there were also some break my heart and make me cry moments too.
The ending of this book was very intense, I knew something was going to happen but even knowing in my gut I wasn't prepared for it. This is a cliffhanger ending so make sure you have Beneath Layers ready to go so you can dive right into it and see what happens next. I am off to read Beneath Layers now, fingers crossed that things end well.
***I have received this book from Crazy Writer Books/TL Alexander through Reading Alley in exchange for my honest review*** https://www.readingalley.com/
I received this book from Reading Alley for an honest review. What another cliff hanger? That was to be expected! Once again I'm loved this story even with it's emotional roller coaster ride and can't wait to read the conclusion. Alexia went to her best friends wedding, slept with her ex and got pregnant again, who was married to Tinker Hell, and had her life explode around her again. Jax finds out about the twins and freaks out, how can he trust Alexia again when she kept something so big from him, and Mia is pregnant and his wife again. Throw in the FBI, mob threats, a psycho ex and some more hot sex for a great read! Will Jax and Lex get there HEA?
“Our bodies move toward each other without conscious thought, on their own accord.”
“Our lips, our bodies, our souls, have always fit perfectly together; two pieces of a puzzle. Two pieces with too many sides and weird angles, two pieces that are lost and lonely, until they join and become one.”
“When it comes to giving Jax his beloved BJ’s, I’m a Navy Seal. I want to get in, get the job done, and get the hell out.”
“Master of what? Bation?”
My Review:
More naughty goodness continues with the second of series, which I actually enjoyed more than the first, which I didn’t expect. More Layers is providing more intrigue as well as a hefty dose of steam and family drama. The witty banter continues and humorous babbling is an added bonus and I was breezing happily along when another heinous cliffhanger erupts. I have learned my lesson, I will always make sure I have all volumes of any series before I ever attempt to read this wickedly good author again. She is an evil genius.
Another exciting glimpse into this erotic novel The players are the same, but the turmoil is rapidly changing.
Alexia secret ha been found out. She is not just a woman of means, but of a vast empire. The Grant's have been a name that has earned the respect of many and hated by others. Quickly Alexia steps into the CEO position that she has fought against and her grandmother insists. This strong woman is now a mother of two beautiful children that remind her of their father more each day. She has tried over three years to tell him about his children, but one night it all came falling down. She is met at Jaxon's hotel room by non-other than his ex-wife Mia. She convinces Alexia that Jaxon is playing the field again. Alexia flees back to London where she enjoys the roll of single parenthood and her CEO responsibilities. Her best friend is about to be wed and Alexia is the Maid of Honor and of course, Jaxon is the best man.
Alexia has kept her slim figure and Jaxon has no idea about the last three years apart. But, he doesn't show up at the wedding alone. Jaxon fights the bodyguard to gain entry into Alexia's room and one passionate night is kindled right where they left off. It was not a happy ending.
Through some spying the secret is out that Jaxon and Mia are married AGAIN. How could he hurt her again? Alexia fights the urge to hurt him even though he just sliced into her soul again. The wedding is over and Alexia goes back into her routine until an unexpected call gives her news that will shake her plans up again.
Jaxon's company is in the rears and he was forced to sell his estate to pay some bills. It was hard seeing his home go away and taking the memories of Alexia once more. That woman frustrates him to his core, but he can't get her out of his heart or mind. When Jaxon finds out that Grant Company paid a lot of his debts, he storms to Alexia's home, now back in New York, where he is stopped in his tracks. Playing on the floor he sees two little boys and they certainly not what he expected to find at all. Alexia's grandmother set up the payment to the Ryan Company and invites Jaxon to talk about a business deal. His mind is going as fast as his heart is beating.
He was told long ago that he was sterile and that there was not much of a chance of fatherhood. When Mia became pregnant he had his sperm checked again. Now his solders are marching and apparently they were marching three years ago.
The boys see their grandmother at the door and race over to leave with her. A little boy walks over in front of Jaxon and he kneels down to be on his level. The word that the little boy says brings tears to his eyes. "Dad" was a word he never NEVER expected from this visit. With the kids out of the room there is a major discussion going on.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, there is only one direction for them to go and that is together as a family. A very strange version of a family, I think it's called "blended" and perfectly describes this situation. The boys live with their mother, daddy gets lots of visits, and Mia has temper tantrums about all of it.
There is some very mad people who disapprove the relationship between Alexia and Jaxon so threats have been made. Beefed up security isn't the only thing that happens. Somehow the mob, or mob like goons, gets a few threats in and raise a few hairs. Sensing that Mia has something to do with it, Jaxon packs his bags and moves into Alexia's home to also protect the kids.
Remember the wedding and the very hot encounter? Well, now baby girl is about to make her debuted. I love the thrills in this book and still annoyed that Romeo and Juliet can't just live Happily Ever After? The strange things that keep them apart are the same things that are bringing them together. Christmas brought the boys a puppy each, Jaxon his family estate bought back from new owners, and Alexia her new family traditions.
The sex scenes are so descriptive that you might need a cigarette afterward! Beware though, this book is very enticing and won't let go! I was given this book to review from the author/publisher through Reading Alley and in exchange I give my unbiased opinion.
Part two for this series starts with Jaxson revealing how he found out Alexia's secret, what's happened since to him and that its several years since he's seen her. He's about to see her again, for the first time, just before their bests friends wedding.
They have both grown up a lot, but Jaxson has some weird stuff going on, and I was really confused between his thoughts, what he was saying to Alexia and what she was seeing! Eventually the author makes it clear though, but I still want to slap him upside the head! I'm still in love with both these characters, although in this book I think they both make stupid mistakes! With no more secrets between them I feel it becomes even more complicated! I still really like the authors writing, although I feel it's a little better in this one.
Once again we end on a cliffhanger, and you need to read the first one to understand this one. A copy was provided to me by the ReadingAlley in exchange for an honest and unbias review.
All I an say is WOW. I loved this book even more than the first one if that is even possible. This book does a great job showing the continuation of the story of Alexia and Jaxson. This book had me going through a rollercoaster of emotions; I was tearing up, laughing, mad, and yelling from one minute to the next. I cannot wait to see how this story continues. Thank you Reading Alley and TL Alexander for allowing me to read and give a honest review of this awesome book.
Diría qué hay algo rescatable en ese libro, pero no fue así. Estuvo cargado de drama sin sentido y los momentos graciosos fueron muy pocos y solo por esos es que le doy una estrellas (aparte de que no se le puede dar menos :v).
Alexia's nemesis is once again at the forefront for another rip-roarin' ride! Still in Jaxson's life (and a thorn in her arse!), I'm almost ready to say Mia is as much about the book as Lex. You can't help but think, "now what will she do?"
It's wonderful how this story began with just a small bit of embezzlement and it is has blossomed into so much more. You find the top layer which leads to another and another. So many layers!
The story is fast-paced with each character rendered so well, I wanted to keep reading about them. Thank goodness this is just book two. I'm starting three as soon as I end this!!
I received this book from Reading Alley for an honest review.
More Layers begins where Layers ends. Some of the questions hanging from the first book get answered, but wow, what a roller coaster ride of emotions and betrayals our lovers go through. And not to mention, that the “big misunderstanding” from the first book keeps Jaxson and Alexia apart for more than 2 years. It’s a pull and push of what is apparent, but there’s more to the plot. Does that make sense? At this point, I’m disgusted over Jaxson’s behavior. I found myself re-reading some parts over because when the truth behind Jaxson’s actions and assumed betrayal is revealed, it just became a bit convoluted and a little hard to swallow. But, it was still believable, so I went with it.
I never felt so bad for a heroine like I did for Alexia. She’s one hot mess, but you gotta love her down to earth, and irreverent attitude towards wealth and all its trappings. And she has never stopped loving Jaxson. Alexia Grant is now a single mom of twins, and CEO of Grant Inc. She’s from a powerful and wealthy family, but assumed a different identity as Alexia Keith for two years before assuming her duties and responsibilities as heir to the family conglomerate. And Jaxson finds out her true identity when both he and Alexia are in Vegas for their friends, Nick and Jule’s wedding.
Ms. Alexander weaves a story mixed with lots of surprises and angst. She’s written Mia, Jaxson’s ex-wife, and current conniving wife; oh, I think I just confused some folks. But the author’s description of the evil Mia as a petite, brainless, Jessica Rabbit with humongous tatas is priceless. Truly funny. Anyway, everyone calls her Tinker Hell. I just loved the camaraderie of Alexia’s BFFs Jules, Marco, Henry, Lanie and her sister, Samantha. Though they brought personality and flair to the story, there were parts I thought were fluff and did not add to the story; but still, funny dialogue and sexy talk about “back door’ prep was beyond hilarious. So, hang on, I’m fully invested in this story and characters, and I freakin’ want to know if our lovers get their Happily Ever After. And it better be good. Because this book ends in another cliffhanger. Poor Alexia. This heroine deserves happiness after the stuff that happens to her. This story continues to the next book, Beneath Layers. I can’t wait to read who is really behind the embezzlement scheme, is Jaxson Baby Daddy to Mia’s baby bump, and will Alexia’s grandmother reveal the truth about her past?

The plot was quite different from the usual girl meets CEO, they fall in love, HEA.
Here we have a strong heroine, who is extremely intelligent, knows exactly what she wants, and that she has to live up to her responsibilities. The hero is not so brilliant,
The dialogues are hilarious just like in the first book, the main characters interact with friends and relatives, the ratio between job, family and sex is balanced. I loved her twins, both far ahead of their age in regard to speech and behaviour, with a precocious mouth.
The only negative is the poor editing, many misspellings and grammatical errors. And why didn't the author use a calculator for the heroine's love for figures when turning years to months to days? Calculating is not the author's thing: Alexia should be about 30 years old in this book, her grandmother is said to be 65, so she became a grandmother aged 35; considering Alexia is a child born to his second wife, this timeline is not feasible.
Christmas and presents are a topic in several chapters, acquiring and caring for the pups is discussed widely, which car to buy for Jaxson as well - and then we get nothing. Alexia and Jaxson leave their home on Christmas eve , the reader does not get a glimpse of their Christmas. I expected some smart-alec remarks by the twins and was thoroughly disappointed.
I am looking forward to the third book, hoping it will answer all open questions.

Really a 3.5 Rating.
This is the continued story of Alexia and Jaxon. These two love birds just cannot catch a break. A misunderstanding has kept them apart for about two and a half years since the first book in the series, Layers, left off. Lex has had her twin boys and Jax is in the clutches of his evil ex.
They come together in Vegas for the wedding of their best friends for the first time. They finally hash out what happened in the hotel almost 3 years ago. However, people conspire against Lex and Jax getting back together again.
More and more miscommunications and secrets threaten their happiness. Just when you think all must finally be worked out, another obstacle is met.
I had a few things that I had a problem with this book. One, there are soooo many obstacles and secrets that I am starting to just ask, ok can they have their happy ever after yet? Two, the jumping of time even if it is only weeks, I have to wrap my head around it going huh? I feel like parts of the book were cut somewhere along the way. But my biggest problem was #3 . The twin are almost 3 in this story and they talk like they are 6 or 7 years old. I will go as low as 5 but that is genius kids. At 2.5 my son never spoke like them, neither did my nephew or niece.
Overall I liked this story. I again can't wait to get my hands on the next installment.

SO FRUSTRATING YET SO GOOD
So Book 1 ended with a cliffhanger… And with this one I feel so upset… frustrated… angry because despite the tons of LOL we got so much drama and twists!!!! Is it bad that I hate Mia so much? Am I a bad person? Is it scientifically normal that Alexia and Jaxson have so much bad luck? Is it sane that I am already opening Book 3 and almost finished my candies bag???
In a most “serious” note, I think the “serious” stuff begins with this second book, we’re really getting the real plots, the dirty secrets and can begin to understand lots of things.
I love all the characters, the family (blood or not blood related) they created, and please…… what about JB and Chase??
We laugh a lot, we have moments for angst, love and S*X too (OMG the “backdoor” plot is….. I have no words, You have to read this book!!!)
We’re left with a cliffhanger AGAIN, but a darker and more serious one, and I’m really looking for what TL Alexander has in store for our beloved couple. So, I have my Kindle charged I have my candies. I have my socks and pajamas on And since I have no social life since yesterday (since I opened Book 1), Book 3 had better be as good as the others.
So – like I said with Book 1 - excuse me while I open book 3. Do not disturb.
The story continues between Alexia and Jaxson. Are they meant to be or are destined to be apart?
Moving on after her broken heart, she does not expect two years later to see Jaxson Ryan in an elevator and still be under his spell. Things have quickly changed in both of their lives.
Alexia has decided to move her company headquarters from London to New York as well as her children but the only problem Jaxson also resides there.
When Jules and Nick get married in Vegas, they are thrown together since Alexia is the maid of honor and Jaxson is the best man. He goes to her room wanting answers and closure. They both cannot take their eyes off each other as they still want each other.
Can they make it work this time but each still have secrets that can bring their relationship crashing? Being together is never easy and not when other people find their way to make trouble.
I received this book as a gift from reading Alley for an honest review and liked it a lot.
I really enjoyed the other books as well. I know am reviewing them back wards but I just finished all three back to back cause I just couldn't put them down they were that well written. A great book to continue the story of both Alexis and Jaxson.. They have been through bell and back and will have to go through it again just to get to their happy ever after. Take this challenge and get to know both of these crazy couple that just makes you laugh, cry and go WOW.. You will also get a deeper view of those that Alexia holds close to her and some of her secrets are reviled to Jaxson. Will their love survive, they will be tested to their braking point. This copy was given a to me in exchange for an honest review from Reading Alley.
Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review. Loved IT! Not a surprised that I would love this book as well! It's hysterically funny and makes me laugh so hard; I love the story and want to choke out a few characters, but what would a story be if it didn't grasp the reader? TL does an outstanding job of grabbing you by the reins and galloping into the horizon at a break-neck speed and then trotting into the sunset with all the ease of an accomplished author's gait. This book is a ridiculous, gut-busting, exhausting, tear-jerker of a read and I loved every single minute of it.
Too complicated. Too much excessive drama that could have been avoided, which leads to too much angst.
Since I didn't exactly read it, it is unfair for me to rate it. Keep in mind that this does not mean these books are bad. In fact, I think this could be a solid 5 stars for other readers. This is a "it's not you, it's me" case.
Can't wait to get my hands on the next installment!!!!! Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review. There isn't much I can say other then pure genius!!!! I loved how there where still a lot of twists and turns before I could get all the answers I was looking for. I truly hope that in the next installment there is a complete HEA between Jax and Lex. Overall had a wonderful time reading this book!!
This book catches up to Alexia and Jaxson as well as their friends and family. Without spoiling it I can’t say more about that. But the depth of the story, characters and descriptions gives life to this series. You should catch up …quick.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ugh. The whole Mia thing pisses me off. Really? I don't care if he was drunk, he would be at the curb. I don't think I can read book three to even find out what happens. Jaxson is a total wussy douche.
This was another good book in this series. I love the humor that all of the characters share. This book was a little more serious, but still very entertaining. I can't wait to read the next book. I received this book from Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.
