Club Volare #8

Submit and Surrender

Rate this book
The eighth Club Volare book is Ford and Adra's story—two best friends who made the mistake of giving in to their attraction one night, and ruined everything they had. And while losing your best friend is hard, having to actually work with them while you both consult on the super hot BDSM movie that's filming at your club? Even harder.

Good thing second chances don't just happen in the movies...

I have an overactive imagination and too much time on my hands, and the result is...well, lots of books! Which is probably better than the alternative. ;)

I love writing steamy and erotic romances, some dark, some light, but always about something that moves me. And, because I'm totally a sucker, love tends to win out. Everyone deserves a happy ending. :)

My contemporary BDSM erotic romance series, Club Volare, has hit the genre bestseller charts on Amazon a few times, which is just awesome. Right now there are two books, Sold to the Sheikh and Tied to the Tycoon, with a third, Disciplined by the Dom, due in February 2013. And I've also got this paranormal series in the very beginning stages of development that I'm super excited about. When I'm not writing those, I'm gonna be reading -- if you've got any good recs, send them my way!

And if you want to hear about those new releases when they come out, you can sign up for my New Releases list here (I *only* use it for that; I hate spam so much!).

Lots of love, and happy reading!!
x Chloe

Submit and Surrender (Club Volare, #8) by Chloe Cox
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Erotica, Romance
4.5 Stars

I enjoyed it.

I had been waiting for a while to read about these 2!

It is well written and flows easily.

This one is full of the mental angst that we are often guilty of putting ourselves through.

My only problem with the story is the angst they felt seemed a bit overmuch for the reasons given. Yet it does mesh with the personality types of these two people.

Erotic, steamy and a touch of suspense.

Well what is one to say...I loved it. Ford I loved him, once he got it together he was unstoppable. His love for Adra shown through. He was a determined hero! Adra got on my nerves at times, but she pulled it together. The sex was HOT and the story was too. Ms. Cox just keeps getting better and better! Loved hearing from Roman and Lola again! Read it you will love it!

I was giving this book as a ARC for an honest review. This story was fun and enjoyable to read. Ford and Adra's made a great couple even if it took awhile for them to get there. The couple met and became best friends but one night of steamy hot sex scared Adra to the point where she told Ford they could never be together. Ford being the type of Dom he was backed off but he remained very over protective . The sexual tension between the two remained but they weren't friends anymore. Ford and Adds was forced to work together to run the club and to consult on a new BDSM movie. The star turns out to be Area's ex who hurt her and he's still doing it kicks in Ford's protectiveness. Their feeling for each other start to come out fir each other more. Adra still tries to fight it because of her past but Ford decides he's. nor letting her go. Love Ford!!! Next book will be located in my hometown if New Orleans can't wait.

Book 8 of the Club Volare by Chloe Cox available on Amazon kindle unlimited Audible.
Finally its Ford and Adra story which I've been looking forward to since starting series.
This is everything i wanted in their story. Ford and Adra are bff but dont want to admit their for each other.
The club is asked to consult on a BDSM movie but what Adra didn't realise was her ex boyfriend and Dom is the lead actor and a total dick.
Adra and Ford are the main consults and try to help with movie and the actors characters.
Really like the possibility of new spin of ite in New Orleans with Ford's brother but I'm unhappy I've had to jump books because Savage Hearts isn't Audible and i didn't want to wait for Ford/Adra story.
That is a benefit to this series you can possibly get away with reading out of order but would strongly suggest read at least the first main stories in order.
Absolutely love this series and so far really enjoyed Chloe Cox writing style

BDSM @ It's Best!
I am an avid fan of Chloe Cox and this book is one of my favorite stories.
If you are familiar with the BDSM lifestyle or just curious fan and an avid reader of the genre then I can truly say that this story is a must read! A HOT & SEXY book that hits all the right spots. An erotic ride that easyly sucks you in. A complex complicated story that you could really feel.
The Characters seem genuinely real and the story full of raw emotions. Emotions that you as the reader can relate to with complex characters that the author really allows you to get to know.
Not just a book about BDSM but of love and romance as well. A wonderful storyline for anyone interested in the life style, with lots of sexy imagery.
The storyline is original and captivating and leaves you aching for more. The sex scenes are second to none. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoy this type of play or just likes to fantasize.
Chloe Cox gives us a much clearer picture and one that's deviously sensual. Her writing flows smoothly and jumps off the page at you.

Every Club Volare book that I read becomes my new favorite. There is just something about this series I can't get enough of. When I got my ARC copy in my e-mail I screamed like a little girl I was so excited. Ms. Cox did not disappoint. I've waited for Ford and Adra's book for some time now. I really wanted to understand why Adra pushed Ford away. I was drawn in again and love the HEA that ensues. Who doesn't love a Dom that makes you swoon. "You are the love of my life... I didn't know I needed anybody, but I need you...... I need to know that you're happy the rest doesn't matter" So good. Although you don't have to read the Club Volare books in order, if this is your first I recommend taking the entire journey and starting from book 1.

3.5 - 4

I love this series but this fell a bit short for me.

I liked both Ford and Adra but they didn't have the connection that the others had. Especially when Roman entered the scene. If they were truly besties then they should have known more about each other.
I can't wait to discover the connection between Oliva and Gavin. Hopefully, there's heat in New Orleans.

If you like major waffle........

This was a good story. However I don't like the authors writing style. Way too much waffle, rather than allowing the story to unfold through the characters written interactions. The story was mainly told his the characters thoughts, these thoughts were so repetitive, it became boring. Can't read like that, I will not read another book by this author.

Kinda boring 2.5 stars

Was not bad, but kinda boring. There was also a lot of editing errors that was annoying (though instead of thought, he instead of she or the, etc..) I did not start at book 1, so that might be why I was not strongly connected to the characters, but I didn’t feel deeply invested in them.

Ford and Adra

So Ford and Adra's story was a lot of foreplay. The sex scene was amazing. The storyline was good and I really like how she introduced the next characters of the next book. Thanks

The writing was fine. The story was fine.
I think the timing is what threw me so I ultimately DNF
I prefer to know more about the why's not just the what's.
This is story driven and not character driven.

I love Club Volare, but.....

"God, she was tired of thinking so much." Hallelujah, I'm tired to death of Adra thinking so much too! goodness ! I am so happy to not be in her head anymore! And, I'm refraining, barely, from using all the adjectives to describe said head! Please understand and know, Cloe, I loooooooooove the Volare series, but that is the only reason I forced myself to finish this book... I'm sorry, but this was the worst book you've pubbed... If it's any consolation, even Lee Child, Michael Connelly, and James Patterson have written terrible books in the middle of fantastic series.... Enough of that. Let me please explain whyyyyyy.... Please take this as an opportunity to be the great bdsm writer, story teller I know you are. 1.) Adra's continual insecurity. I think you did this character a great disservice. I could not wrap my brain around .... well, no spoilers. I'll just say that she was spineless, cowardly, and pretty selfish. None of these things are conducive with the strong, capable, care taker she is. No one this insensitive anyone. 2.) Sara's complete lack of ttc good judgement. Again, no spoilers, but just NOT buying it.... 3.) Constant and I mean from start to finish, mental monologue. Chloe, I had to go back on multiple occasions after reading Adras head for so long I couldn't remember what the question Ford had for her.
Chloe, I'm giving you a five star (should be no more than 3...), because I want you to sit up and take notice. You are wayyyy better and I want wayyyyy more Club Volare!!! Try to bring in other characters with real dialogue, rather than just telling me about it.. Please!
And to all you Club Volare fans and soon to be fans, you still have to read (even if speed read...) or you'll be lost on the next... Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good for an investment in a FANTASTIC series! Love you Cloe :)

I got this book on a friday and could not put it down. This is Ford and Adra's story, and oh what a story it is. We have watched Ford get countless people out of sticky situations and show what a fabulous lawyer he is but this story shows the other side of Ford. Adra has watched over nurtured and protected many club members in the books but this is her story and there is a part of me that wished there was a little more too it. When we read this story we find out that there is something in Adra's childhood that makes her the way she is. I wish more was explained about that but you only get bits and pieces throughout the book. We are introduced to more of each of their private lives in this story and how each of them really feels about the other. Part of me felt like they were just fighting the inevitable like Roman and Lola. When people are meant to be together than there will be a way to make it happen. Watching them fight the inevitable for all of these books just made this story all the sweeter. I would recommend this book to anyone but it would be better to understand all the characters if you have read the others in this series.

~ I received an ARC for an honest review ~

I forget how much I love Chloe Cox's writing until I get a new book to read AND then there I go...off into the world of Club Volare and the sexy playground she creates for her characters.
Ford is a dream...a hotter than hell DOM with a whole lot of problems but also a huge heart full of love for Adra. Their story makes me melt...it's one delicious and sweaty encounter after another, whether they're working a "scene" or just eating spicy beef and watching a movie.
This book also takes us on Roman and Lola's final journey to parenthood...oh yeah...the hot Master and his little sub who are having a baby.
I loved this book so much...it was sweet and hot and full of romance and passion as well as touching on some serious problems from both Ford and Adra's pasts that need to be resolved before they can have a future together. Worth getting this one if you love Club Volare and the people who frequent this place as much as I do. Fantastic addition to the series!

***** 5 ***** "submit and surrender to a second chance" stars =)

Received ARC from author for an hones review.

Best friends share everything. This was the case for Ford and Adra. They were best friends with secrets. Their secrets from one another lead to a separation that neither wanted. Secrets that caused one night of great sex to be unforgettable but regretful.

I had looked forward to these two story. Had read about them in the previous Club Volare books and wondered what the deal was with them. Why they could not stand being around each other. Well, this story gives the background of their beginning and also the painful past.

Adra is afraid to end up unloved and unable to commit to a relationship. But more than anything she wants Ford as more than a friend. Something she won't allow herself to have. When a movie that is featuring BDSM comes to Club Volare, and Adra and Ford are asked to coach the actors in their scenes, Ford sees an opportunity to break down the walls that Adra has erected. They can finally begin to heal and get their HEA.

Finally!! I feel like I've been waiting for Ford and Adra's story since I was first introduced to them! Chloe Cox did not disappoint, this book had the usual steam, but I was mostly impressed with the actual storyline. When a movie production forces Ford and Adra to work together closely, it brings all their feelings and problems to the forefront. As much as I like Adra, I've always thought she was a strong character, during Submit and Surrender, she was annoying me part of the time with how wishy-washy she was being with their relationship. Ford being Ford, he dominated the situations they found themselves in, and it all worked out. Man, that guy kept turning me to mush! Overall though, I couldn't peel my eyes off the pages, I found the chemistry between them to be incredibly scorching and scintillating. The obstacles both of them have overcome in their life is a great testament to how strong they each are, and how strong their bond will be. The care I see them giving each other is awe-inspiring, and I'm excited to see how their relationship grows in upcoming books.

I am new to reading BDSM. I like the trust between the partners, but in some books the public BDSM scenes ruin the romance. It is just straight sex. I like romance. This book had romance! You care about the characters, you feel for them. The writing was real and very funny. Having the battery operated bullet go off during an interview? I was laughing so hard! The only reason I could not give this book 5 stars was for the angst. To me, their reason for staying apart at first, didn't make sense. It felt contrived and fake. Being a Dom, no way would he just accept Adra telling him to stay away. His past wasn't that traumatic. The whole book, after they began to talk and dance around each other, was freakin awesome. The love scenes were hot, but romantic. Totally won me over! I received this as an ARC.

Firstly let me say thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing us Ford and Adra's story....It has been a long time coming.....and boy was it worth the wait.

I loved every single minute of this book and Ford was pretty damn sexy. I admit to screaming and shouting at Adra a few times, but she saw the light at the end and that was all that mattered...Besides my kindle is used to verbal abuse now and then, so its all good....

I cannot wait for the New Orleans Club Volare to open and I am sure Gavin and Olivia are going to be all kinds of hot...

Another great book in this fantastic series that not only is entertaining as all get out, but its sexy, fun and the BDSM scenes are fantastically hot.... I highly recommend it.....Go Read it NOW!!!!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. I gave this book a 5 stars. Chloe did not disappoint, Submit and Surrender was awesome and well written. The Banter and dialogues between characters were funny and witty. I found myself chuckle out loud at times. It was steamy, hot and sexy.

This book was about Ford and Adra. It gave us their backgrounds; what made them the way they were today. I loved how sweet Ford was and that he always knew how to deal with Adra and her antics. Their chemistry and attraction for each other were off the chart. I felt it coming off the pages, or should I say, my IPad! I enjoyed the reappearance of characters from the previous books like Roman and Lola.

I look forward to the next book about Gavin and Olivia, Club Volare New Orleans.

OMG!!!! Freaking Fabulous

This is the story of Ford and Adra. If you haven't read any of the Club Volare books...do so NOW!!! I hate to say this but I think this one has been my favorite so far. You have a sexy lawyer/Dom, a slightly crazy talent agent, and more sex than should be legal (ha ha).
Ford and Adra have been best friends forever. When one night they give in to their feelings, Adra gets scared and tells Ford she can't be with him. Ford is crushed and they drift apart but when a movie us going to be filmed at the Club, they are forced to be consultants. Ford realizes he loves Adra but he must try to help her get over her anxieties and insecurities because he knows she loves him just as much.
Bravo Ms Cox...Bravo

I have to say I have been waiting for audra's and fords story and as usual Chloe didnt disappoint me. What I enjoyed most our their story is that they were friends first , then had a one night stand together and lost that friendship. Through a series of events they get back together as both friends and lovers which I loved. I was hoping all threw the story that audra would open up to ford, of course she did and I love ford even more now!!!! Lola and roman are in this story to and cant wait for the baby to be born. Lola is still one of my favorites. Cant wait to see what chloe's has up her sleeve next.

Oh my. I love this series. Ford and Adra have had such a history and I am so excited this book had such a happy ending.

I really like the way this series always has previous couples in the new books to really bring it all together.

Adra is always helping everyone else butt at the same time holding herself back. After a bad childhood she is afraid to love or be loved. She doesn't think she can give herself to only have that person walk away.

Ford felt used by his ex wife after he found out his best friend and partner was having an affair with his wife. He didn't trust after that.

Finally both Ford and Adra realized they loved each other to put the last behind and move forward.

To be fair - I give this 3 1/2 Stars - Mainly for Ford - and his never ending patience - I have read book 6 & 7 in this series and loved Adra, until her book - I get that she is a "doer" for others, but her constant self doubt and internalization about why she is the way she is about drove me nuts and where the hell was everyone else that she helped along the way? Seeing Lola and Roman was fine but what I have loved about reading the books out of order was the appearance of everyone else and I get the "movie plot" was an issue for the "regulars" but even after that they are barely a mention. All in all Ford saves this book for me - Really looking forward to Gavin

The romance between Adra and Ford has always been apparent. I have been watching them since Chance and Lena's book. This book has a very stubborn man that wouldn't give up until the women he loved believed in herself and their love. What a love story! Add in some serious hotness and you've got a winner. What I love most about Chloe's books is that there is this real intense story behind every one. Nothing about her books is cookie cutter. The highest praise I can give an author is that I stop whatever I'm reading to read her books as soon as they come out.

I hope there will be more books in this series. I am just going to tell myself there will be.... knowing that this may possibly be the last book in the series makes me want to actually break down and cry. I have enjoyed every story in this series. Ford and Adra's made a great couple even if it took awhile for them to get there. I forget how much I love Chloe Cox's writing until I get a new book to read AND then there I go...off into the world of Club Volare and the sexy playground she creates for her characters.

I was gifted an arc by the author for an honest review.

I love Ford! He's one of my favorite characters in this series. I think there were a number if times during his story I wanted to strangle Adra. Her issues are all in her head. Sometimes that's the hardest place to get out of...your own head.

Of course Ford won't let Adra walk away that easy. The story flowed and I read it in one night!
I love these characters. The series is great!!

Great story Chloe! Loved it!
