She’s a good girl with a future. I’m a bad boy with none. Too bad I’m an idiot who never pays attention to warning signs.
“Oz, I’m not scared of you. I’m not afraid of your life. Of getting dirty. So quit trying to protect me and let me make my own choices.”I really loved Oz and Kylie together. They were a great match. Kylie was a perfect mix of Nell and Colt, two characters I love. She was kind and understanding to Oz and his situation. There was a lot of mystery with Oz. I have to say- I was proud of myself. I caught on to the ‘twist’ much earlier than I normally do. But I think that’s only because I’ve recently re-read the first two ‘Falling’ books. Kylie and Oz were one of those couples that would never work on paper, but really are perfect for one another.
“My prerogative as your father is to break the face of anyone who fucks with you. And I will, whether you like it or not. So if our boy Oz prefers to have his face in one piece, he’ll treat you like the precious thing you are.”
“You saved me, you know. Life had me running. Had me by the throat, and I really was falling under, losing hope. And then I met you, and you gave me a reason to keep my head above water. You taught me to swim. You taught me to life. And instead of giving up, I fell in love. I fell under your spell, Kylie, and ever single day since, I’ve fallen further and further under for you.”["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

"You and I? It may end badly. I may get hurt. But guess what? I don't care! I've never had my heart broken. Maybe I'm fine with rising it, because it's better than being afraid and going through life bored."
"That lifestyle? It's bad, Kylie. I don't want you anywhere near that. It's dark, and it's dangerous, and it can suck you under so fast. So fast."
"If I amount to anything it'll be as part of a band. That's it. I'll be playing dive bars and shitty clubs, and I'll get high in the alleys and do lines in the bathrooms, and eventually I'll OD and that'll be that." I glance ad her. "Is that the life you want?"

Everybody knows girls like the bad boys, and I'm thoroughly bad.

"My prerogative as your father is to break the face of anyone who fucks with you. And I will, whether you like it or not. So if our boy Oz prefers to have his face in one piece, he'll treat you like the precious thing you are."
"We can't protect her from life, Nell. You know that. She's going to get hurt someday. All we can do is love her, and be there when it happens."
"I wish - I wish I'd at least kissed you. Just once."

"You light up the blackness that has been my life, and I don't know how to ever be the kind of man you need and deserve, but I want to try. For you, for me, and for us. For the possibility of us."
"You saved me, you know. Life had me running. Had me by the throat, and I really was falling under, losing hope. And then I met you, and you gave me a reason to keep my head above water. You taught me to swim. You taught me to life. And instead of giving up, I fell in love. I fell under your spell, Kylie, and ever single day since, I've fallen further and further under for you."

AMAZONMICHELLE'S REVIEW
So this was me on Wednesday when I received an email from the lovely Vilma on behalf of the lovely Jasinda.
Yup. I was so excited I had to resurrect my favorite gif of all time.
Ladies (and maybe gents)- meet Oz. If you loved Colton Calloway in Falling Into You, then you are already halfway in love with Oz. The same torture and pain we experienced with Colt, we see it here. But where Nell was equally as tortured as Colt, their daughter Kylie is relatively untouched from the harshness and pain that life so often brings us. But she is drawn to the hurting Oz like a moth to a flame.
There was a lot of speculation as to who this book would be about. Many Jasinda fans were thinking we would get more from the Ever Trilogy. But this girl right here was hoping that this would be about Colt, Nell, Becca and Jason. These four character and their two books are without a doubt, my favorite books that Jasinda has written. Just thinking about these books makes me want to drop everything and start reading them again and again until I memorize every word. I straight up ugly cry with these people.
And there was only a slight reprieve in this book. I was getting choked up at the end of Chapter 4. CHAPTER FOUR. The story barely started and I was already halfway to a mess. But I promise- compared to what we know she's capable of, Jasinda goes pretty easy on us. Sort of. I mean I teared up but there was no ugly cry, so that's good. Right?
While we get Colt's POV here (yay) it's really Oz and Kylie's story that is the focus. But I love how Colt's POV plays into the story. Seeing him be such a great dad is amazing. And his relationship with Kylie is perfect.
Also- Jasinda- you can go ahead and give me Ben's story now. Not going to lie- knowing that Kylie and Ben are named after men that their parents have lost- the emotions- oh the emotions. It's such a beautiful tribute to characters that we all love.
But as always, when reading a book by Jasinda, you need to expect the unexpected. There were three moments where my heart was in my throat. The first one was scary but it was early enough where I felt ok about how it would all turn out. Number two was not as easy to get through. There was definitely a moment of
But there is a major twist in this book. No spoilers- I promise. But when it happens- when all is revealed- I can't even form the words. It was exactly what needed to happen. Fans of Falling Into Us will probably lose their shit. And by lose their shit I mean:
But don't worry. It's not a bad thing. It's just an emotional thing.
You just have to read this book. It's so amazing and I think it was the perfect follow up to this series. Kylie is strong when Oz needs her to be. Oz becomes stronger both for himself and for Kylie. But most importantly, I think these two really just become better versions of themselves with each other. Even though in some ways it seems like they get together quickly, they really do form a friendship and I really appreciated that. And the sex- the chemistry- was perfect for these two. It was the right amount of hot and sweet.
The epilogue was really great but the postscript was EVERYTHING. I seriously don't think there could have been a better ending. It just brought the series together so well and I found myself-once again- getting so emotional.
I also have to mention the music. Amazing. Not all of it was my style but all the songs fit so well. And the original lyrics are so damn beautiful, you would have to be made of stone to not be moved by them! I thought that the way the music bound Oz and Kylie together added to how well it fit into the story.
Also, I know that Jasinda and Jack pour their heart into all of their books but Falling Into You was released a year ago (you can read the story on Jasinda's blog) and so this book has a really special place for them and I think for their biggest fans who have followed their remarkable story. I know that much of this is fiction but the Wilder's also pull from real life. I love that Nell and Colt in this story produce music under their own independent label. It seems like such a simple thing but I think it's just a little piece of the Wilder couple in this book. It's those touches that show just how much Jasinda pours of herself into her novels.
I really just need to stop rambling and let you read this book. Because it is amazing and it's the story you never knew you were dying to read. Jasinda has done it once again. I cannot wait for more from this crew.
Sidenote: There is a teaser for another new book from Jasinda at the end of the book and let me just say:

Everybody knows girls like the bad boys, and I'm thoroughly bad.
Seeing that gesture in Oz, in the guy my daughter is interested in? It scared the F**k out of me. What frightens me even more in the fact that I don't know what the hell to do about it. - Colt

Falling Under by Jasinda Wilder
3rd in a series of Standalones. NewAdult with lots of sex.
SURPRISE!!! It's another Falling Book from Jasinda Wilder! Usually I like to know that another book in a series is coming out because my memory sucks so bad I like to re-read the books before it. I didn't have the chance to do that before reading Falling Under, and that is OK, everything will be explained.
I don't like to read too many NA books, I have a hard time reading about teen sex when my child is that age. But Jasinda can weave a tale so magical that you always know that the kids are in love, and it just seems...right. These aren't just any kids in this book though...this one is interesting. It's in the future, yet not. It's about Kylie, the only child of Nell and Colton from Falling Into You" target="_blank">Falling into You. They live across the street from best friends Becca and Jason from Falling Into Us and their son, Ben, in an upscale Nashville neighborhood. While it isn't really necessary to read the first two books in the series, READ THEM, because they are awesome. Both were on my Best of 2013 list.
This story is Oz's story. It's Colt's story. But mostly it's 17 year old Kylie's story told from Oz and Colt's point of view, which made it pretty unique, because as I review this, I almost forgot it wasn't in Kylie's voice at all. And I never missed it.
Oz is a 'bad boy'. Long hair, metalhead, motorcycle, tattoos, smoker, fighter, and he lives in the wrong part of town. He knows nothing about his father and isn't close with his mom, but at 21 he just lives with his mom to help her with bills. He's moved so often in his life that he never set down roots, or made any friends. But right away, you see beyond that. He's smart, maybe a math genius. And when he sees Kylie in one of his classes, his reaction shocks him.
"I can't take my eyes off her. I'm mesmerized...I've never had my pulse race and thunder in my ears, never had my palms sweat. Never wanted to stand up, cross the room and beg for her name, her number, for five fucking minutes alone with her."
"I shouldn't be doing this, shouldn't be acting like this chick could ever mean anything to me, or I to her"
"She's a good girl with a future. I'm a bad boy with none. Too bad I'm an idiot who never pays attention to warning signs."
"I see something in this kid, something I recognize. And it scares me that she's interested in him."
"Singing and playing acoustic guitar like some coffeehouse hipster dick? Yeah, no."
"My life ain't pretty, sweetness. I wouldn't be doing you any favors by dragging you through the mud of my messy-ass life. You'd get dirty, and you're way too clean, way too gorgeous, and way too innocent for me to be willing to soil you like that."
"It shouldn't be me, but it is. I'm just a hood rat, a metal kid, a pot-smoking fighter, the kid who's been to juvie and psych wards, who's been suspended more times than I can ever count, expelled once, beaten up countless times, shot, nearly stabbed once, left for dead in a parking lot, fatherless, friendless, homeless, rootless. How could I possibly deserve to have this glorious pale-skinned fire-haired, lightning-eyed beauty, this goddess?"

, but I mean really, really disappointed. I felt betrayed, scammed, and dishearten about her [their] writing, because they had delivered us amazing books, no matter what other people think: I love her [their] books. So much, that I bought the "Ever After Trilogy" [all three books] and have been waiting in my kindle app since then. But after this one, that'll change.
