THOUGHTS:

Sometimes a book just comes to you at the perfect time. I thought this was a book perfect for anyone going through grief and loss, and the hope for moving forward. HIS FINAL ANSWER is well written and a thoroughly engaging read that will have you rooting for the characters and turning the pages - going through an emotional journey with main character Daniel Palson - a man who had it all, and going through a brokenness and loneliness that has been handled so gracefully with hope and love. Fantastic!!

His final answer is well written, and the characters have many layers that will take you on a gamut of emotions as you turn the pages. I was touched by the many phases of change in Daniel Pallson's life.

The entire read is a mixture of loss, grief, and the ability to come back and embrace life again. I found myself rooting for his spiritual change. The ending wrapped everything up but not without some surprises.

I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone going through grief, loss, or on the fence about the importance of life and what really matters. Very inspirational and hopeful overall.

I received a copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.

A story that tugged at my heartstrings watching Daniel battle the grief of losing his only child. I felt like I was going through all five stages with him on his journey. I also loved seeing how his family came together during his time of need and showering him with the love he needed to finally have peace. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is going through the grieving process of losing a loved one.

Once in a while, we stumble upon a book that not only offers escapist entertainment but also presents impressive takeaways to carry along during different seasons of life. One such book is “His Final Answer,” a vividly layered text packed with emotional truths. Here, co-authors Christopher White and Jennifer Curran embrace all the brittle fragments of grief and sorrow, hope and love.

Daniel Pallson was a wealthy man, known to many as Iceland’s native billionaire. His friends considered him a charismatic person, full of flair. But beneath this public image, was a broken man, living in embitterment and suppressed anger. Twenty years ago, he suffered the tragic loss of his only son, Thomas, an incident that led him to alienate himself from his family and led to his eventual separation from his then-wife, Doris.

Encompassed by grief, he chose to bury himself in his work. A resident of America, Daniel travels to his native country to supervise the building of his hotel and resort, a groundbreaking project that attracts powerful people to Iceland. While there, he suffers a near-fatal heart attack that confines him to one of his most undesirable places; his brother Jon’s ranch as he recuperates. His estranged wife, Doris, also comes to stay at the ranch, adding to Daniel’s many frustrations. Will the tranquil oasis of the countryside offer any healing to Daniel’s heart? Will he finally confront the past and the pain he has harbored for years and get closure for his son’s death that put a strain on his close relationships?

Grief is a complex and universal theme that needs to be handled delicately. The authors have done an incredible job dealing with this pertinent subject, going further to make it a fictional read with the ring of truth. The book is based on real-life events from one of Christopher’s friends who suffered the tragic loss of his son, yet managed to remain jolly and lively. Through this plausible work, the authors prove to readers that, in situations where death has invaded, it does not have to win.

Further, the narrative challenges us to be patient, compassionate, and empathetic toward those who are going through various seasons of grief. These unvoiced gestures offer depths of unspoken love and ultimately go a long way.

A good book has the ability to elicit a change in us, and this text unarguably does that. Imaginative and sensory, “His Final Answer” by Christopher White and Jennifer Curran is a great read that leaves an aftereffect.

In Iceland – ‘a country famously forged from fire and ice’ – a splendid novel!

Authors Christopher D White and Jennifer Curran team to bring a most sensitive and insightful novel that is both an engrossing story and a solid platform for understanding the impact of loss and for appreciating the importance of resilience and reconciliation. In a brief preface Christopher shares that this book was written for those ‘who have had to experience an unimaginable painful event. Actually, I think this novel can easily apply to many cases of grief for loved ones who have lost others, whether it be family or others.’

Accompanied by beautiful color photographs the opening lines depict nature well – ‘It was a beautiful, sunny day. The sharp blue sky stood out in contrast with the floating cumulus clouds. Underneath was a luscious, deep-green valley, a moving, clear river, either side of it enveloped by majestic snowcapped mountains brimming with life. Two men stood in the water…both smoothly working the lines…’ Into this setting in Iceland we meet the wealthy Daniel Pallson and the authors summarize the plotline: ‘Daniel Pallson is considered by most to have everything one could ask for as one of the wealthiest self made people in the world, however in reality since he tragically lost his son twenty years ago he has been one of the emptiest. Since then he has shut most everything out of his life including his wife, extended family, faith in himself, spirituality and all, except his successful business. A long time American citizen and resident Daniel returns to his native Iceland for a very important business project. While on this trip he suffers a life threatening event that does not allow him to leave the country any time soon. Daniel's only option where to convalesce is at his estranged brother’s ranch where they both grew up. Daniel’s wife Doris with whom he separated from years ago also comes from her home in Boston knowing this is a life or death situation. To his complete dismay Daniel must now face not only his own mortality but all he shunned all these years. What is his final answer?’

Poetically rendered, this novel is a rewarding reading experience that should find a wide audience!

Daniel Pallson has it all.

Except he doesn't, really. His company, which he founded and built, constantly impacts the stock market and its rises and falls. He's always planning a new merger or scheme to make more money. Success everywhere he looks.

Except, well, in his marriage. Or his extended family. Or, in his own heart. (Which he avoids glancing into at all costs.) But there are those dreams, which bring him joy even as they cause him to wake up sweating and terrified. Because the recurring dreams are of his lost son, Thomas, whom he'll never see again.

Those dreams, though? He locks those away in his heart. Never thinks of them unless they've just happened. All of that, however, is about to change. Because Daniel's newest resort is about to open in his birth country of Iceland. And his brother is walking up, through the protesters (who are afraid the resort will ruin the environment), longing to see him again. His brother, whom he's avoided for years. But that heart of Daniel's is about to rebel.

His Final Answer is a fascinating story of a man who's suffered for years from the pain he's insisted on locking away. Is there a chance for Daniel--and his relationships--to heal? Maybe...just maybe. Great book for anyone who's interested in healing and personal change.

I received a copy of this book from the authors. All opinions I've shared here are my honest ones.

Admittedly, this isn't my usual type of read. More often than not, I definitely tend to be drawn to more lighthearted reads with a guaranteed happily ever after, so I really wasn't really sure what to expect from this one. Right away though, I found myself drawn into Daniel's story. On the surface, he is a successful man who seems to have it all--- but after a health emergency forces him to slow down, we see that he's been struggling with the deep grief of losing his son many years before. These characters captivated me and had me rooting for them right to the end. This was a beautiful story of loss and grief, but also a story of faith that packs an emotional punch that will make you think. I found myself reaching for tissues so many times throughout, but at the same time found it quite healing by the end. And while I don't want to say too much and give away any spoilers, that ending? Certainly not what I'd anticipated... but such a beautiful way to end the story! Daniel's journey was beautifully written and while it might not have been one that I'd have initially picked up on my own, it's certainly one that I am glad to have experienced!

Though His Final Answer is a faith-based story, it does have a bit of minor language.

**Book received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

A compelling drama...

Set against Iceland's stark landscape, "His Final Answer" by Christopher D. White and Jennifer Curran explores the thawing of a frozen heart. The novel follows Daniel Pallson, a successful businessman whose wealth cannot fill the void left by his son's death two decades ago. When a medical emergency strands him at his estranged brother's ranch in his native Iceland, Daniel finds himself confronting the relationships and faith he abandoned in his grief - including his separated wife Doris who arrives from Boston during his crisis.

The authors craft a contemplative narrative about second chances and renewal, using Iceland's isolated setting to mirror Daniel's emotional landscape. The story unfolds deliberately, examining how tragedy can reshape a person's entire world and questioning whether wealth and success can truly compensate for lost connections. Through Daniel's forced convalescence, the novel presents a thoughtful meditation on grief, family bonds, and the possibility of redemption even after years of emotional isolation.

Recommended for readers who appreciate character-driven stories about family reconciliation and personal growth.

Christian Fiction books are a favorite genre of mine. His Final Answer by Christopher D. White and Jennifer Curran is the latest book in this genre that I have read.

WOW, this book had me captivated from the very beginning. The main character in the book is Daniel Pallson. Daniel was "living the life" and making a name for himself. He had achieved many accomplishments in life and has wealth. He really felt empty inside, as he had lost his son 20yrs ago. He took a trip to his native country, Iceland, for business. A life threatening medical emergency really made him look back at the past and make some decisions about moving forward. I really think the message of this book is very strong, that loss and grief can really leave us empty, even if we think we are holding it all together. We can isolate ourselves from family, friends, our faith and so much more. Faith and Spirituality can really bring us to a point of really LIVING and being in a peaceful place with God, ourself, and others. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Fiction with a touch of real life. GREAT BOOK!

This novel is essentially an exploration of what it’s sometimes like to face an unexpected situation where you must reexamine everything you once believed was true. That is what happens to the protagonist, Daniel Pallson. Daniel is wealthy, but unhappy. His son died and following that event he became shut up within himself. He lost his faith and made himself emotionally unavailable to his wife.

When he has a near-death experience in his native Iceland, he must recover at his estranged brother’s ranch. This is where he spent much of his childhood. There, Daniel must face hard truths about himself and the choices he has made. Will the darkness inside him continue to have the upper hand? Or will this broken man be able to find the courage and self-love buried deep down that sparks a spiritual and emotional rebirth?

The story talks about working through the different plans and conflicts the family has endured through the years. In the story, the two main characters, Daniel and Jon, are on opposite ends of the societal spectrum, one being rich, an entrepreneur, and the other, a priest at the church, being politically correct in his environmental protection claims, even to the extent of saving Iceland from degradation. The author poetically describes the locations of beautiful Iceland, but conflict stops all activities. The author tells a great story with average pacing and significant interaction among all characters so that we can see how all of them develop. The writing style highlights logical girdling sadness, unresolved pain, family cultural pride, and complex relationships and environmental responsibilities.

A beautiful process of renewal

Without a doubt, this was one of the most moving and touching stories I have encountered where the main theme is the exploration of grief and the power of human connections.

Daniel, a man who seems to have the perfect life, has a pretty bleak background because after a tragedy, he decided to continue making his life another tragedy and this text explores how life itself is in charge of pulling him out of that hole to make him question the decisions that have led him to live years of misery and push him to change it despite being difficult.

This novel is perfect for anyone who has experienced loss or felt disconnected from the world. It offers a message of hope and healing, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always the possibility of renewal. Super recommended!

Amazing book

Wow, I found this book incredibly good and completely exquisite to read.
The way the author writes in such a light and easy way makes you not want to stop and makes you think that you are living that story hand in hand with the main characters. It's been a long time since I found a book so mesmerizing and fun.
The book is really a psychological thriller about the life of a man who ends up trapped in a mysterious plot of an interactive television program, the protagonist is in the dilemma of choosing between truth, survival, manipulation and the power that technology has on human beings.
I highly recommend this book, it will entertain you from beginning to end.

I connected very deeply with this reading, I think it is a topic that will make you feel related in one way or another because I think we have all been able to feel lost by a loss or have seen someone that we want to not get ahead because losing a loved one is something very difficult. In this story, you will find a protagonist who is professionally fulfilled, with a successful business, but completely empty after the loss of his son. It has such a beautiful and emotional narrative, that in parts, you will be moved to tears when you see the path that the protagonist has to travel and how life takes him to his roots in order to flourish. It is an emotional book, full of wisdom and with which you will easily connect.

A good story

What a great book! Although the story of Daniel Pallson, the main author, is a bit painful due to the loss of a son and an accident he suffered while returning to his native Iceland, the reading gives a sense of calm and peace making it enjoyable to read.
It is a story that serves as an example of resilience, and that can help many people to face very hard moments such as grief.
It has illustrations, which recreate some moments of the book, allowing the reader to get to know the characters as they are, creating a greater closeness with the story.
It is a book that makes you think and reflect on the really important things in life, such as family, friends and work.

"His Final Answer" really hit me. It's not just a story; it's like a sincere look at how grief can just resonate you out. Daniel Pallson, this billionaire, he's got it all, but inside, he's just broken. Losing his son wrecked him, and he shut everyone out.
Then, he ends up back in Iceland, his old stomping grounds, and it's like the place starts to crack his shell. The whole vibe of the place, that stark, lonely beauty, it fits his mood perfectly.
The book doesn't goes away from the tough things. It digs deep into how loss can affect you, how hard it is to forgive yourself sometimes. But it also shows how important those close and personal connections are, how they can pull you back from the edge.

So deep, I was moved

Pallson's story deeply moved me. The tale of this man, devastated by the loss of his son, who sought refuge in wealth and isolation, mirrors human fragility. The confrontation with his past drives him to face his brother and ex-wife, a voyage of rediscovery through memories, becoming an emotional whirlwind. I wondered, how many of us build walls to protect ourselves from pain, only to find ourselves prisoners of our own creation? The story invites reflection on the importance of self-renewal and reconciliation, reminding us that even in the deepest darkness, hope can blossom. This narrative is a profound exploration of grief's isolating power, yet it ultimately illuminates the enduring strength of the human spirit to find solace and healing amidst profound loss.

His Final Answer tells the story of Daniel, a successful businessman whose past trauma continues to haunt him. After years of emptiness and deception, he returns to his roots in beautiful Iceland, where problems are just beginning as he faces death.

It was a deep and powerful read, the authors wrote this book with an intriguing narrative and an original plot, with a beautiful description of the landscape and the quiet way of life of Iceland, the perfect place to reconnect with yourself. It is a medium-sized story, perfect for readers looking for a relaxed meaningful read, with lovable characters and a twisted unpredictable plot.

Overall, a five-star book for me.

I found the book "His Final Answer" to be a profound work that explores the pain of loss and the internal struggle for redemption. The story of Daniel Pallson, a millionaire and successful man, who is marked by a personal tragedy, the death of his son twenty years ago, leads him to close his heart and distance himself from everything that was once important, including his family and his faith. Although it is a sad story, I really liked the way the authors narrate the confrontation that Daniel faces after avoiding his hard past for so many years. I really like finding hope and a second chance in this story despite having thought that everything was already lost. Completely recommended.

Good story

Great story, poignant and touching. A heartless money loving business man is forced to take stock of his life and face the source and cause of the troubles he has in life and his relationships. I enjoyed the plot a great deal, and I particularly liked the setting of a cold and remote ranch in Iceland. The writing was mostly good, a bit stiff at times but nothing to distract from the story much. It's a good book to read if you're looking for something that's both an easy read and a moving account of the tolls that severe grief can take on someone. The digital photos added some whimsy as well.

A great story!

It is a story about struggle and resilience. Daniel Pallson is one of the richest people in the world but his journey to that great success was much more than complicated. The death of his son turned him into a different person, isolated and distant from all his loved ones.
Here, Daniel starts a way of change and healing, in which he must face all emotions and feelings that he has been avoiding. I liked it because I could connect with the story. The authors did a great and moving job. Characters are really well developed; it is great how their transparency captivates and moves the reader. It is a hard and nice story at the same time!

His Final Answer: The narrative is emotionally charged, yet balanced with moments of hope and introspection. The characters are deeply relatable, each navigating their own journey of doubt, conviction, and reconciliation.

Through their struggles, readers are invited to reflect on their own beliefs, priorities, and the power of unconditional love. The spiritual undertones are profound, offering a gentle yet impactful reminder of the importance of faith and trust in God, even in the darkest moments.

His Final Answer beautifully echoes this truth: that even in life’s hardest moments, our faith and final answer to God define our legacy.

A thoroughly interesting and insightful book. I felt super identified with the story of the protagonist and the whole path he goes through in the book helped me to achieve very significant moments of introspection that led to many changes in my mentality. It is a very strong story that shows a supposedly successful man, but with his personal life destroyed after losing his son some time ago. The protagonist is such a real man that he manages to immerse you in every stage of his life and above all he manages to take you on a journey into his past where he has to resolve many things he has pending.

Excellent read.

I enjoyed this book greatly, and found myself feeling sorry for Daniel, the main character. I can’t imagine how life shattering it must’ve been for him to lose his beloved son. I know if it happened to me, I’d probably shut down too. This was an inspiring read and I found myself feeling so sad for Daniel, and hoping that he would regain a normal life again.

This book truly is a testament of the power of love and family.
