Being kidnapped by bikers is a harrowing experience, but for some reason, Laurie doesn’t feel as terrified as she should. The leader’s steely eyes soften when he looks at her, and the others in his gang clearly know she’s hands off. But does that include Steele's hands? Her brain resists him, but her body insists she wants those big hands all over her.
Steele doesn’t know how he wound up in this mess–with a kidnapped woman on his hands and the police hot on their trail. Now he and Laurie are in hiding at an isolated cabin, and Steele has to figure out how to extricate himself...and steer clear of his accidental captive whose tight, slinky clubbing attire is making him think all kinds of dangerous thoughts…
Following on from novella 2, Laurie has managed to finally succeed with her plans for escape.
But does getting in a Police car guarantee her safety, from her ex Donovan or from Steele and his biker gang.
"Since you've already tried and convicted me in your mind, maybe I should just commit the crime."
Opal Carew can definitely write sexy, and this installment is steamy in a way I enjoy. The re-emergence of the slightly unhinged ex is upping the suspense level a bit more too.

*please note all 6 parts read continuously as one piece, so have reviewed as one (all 6 parts have the same review attached)
another fun, engrossing read from Opal.
Would much rather have the single edition than the 6 mini installments, but I read them all back to back anyway so kinda the same thing. after finishing work at midnight determined to get a decent sleep for a relatively early morning, I ended up reading til 3am just to finish them!!
it's hot, sexy, emotional, heroes & villains... everything you love about Opal Carew books!!
Note:Riding Steele is a serialized novel in the Ready to Ride series that is being released in 6 installments, and will also be published in one volume. I am reviewing this serial as one complete piece of work.
Why I Read this Book: First, I have a confession to make: I am not a fan of serials. It feels like a marketing ploy to get more money for what is essentially ONE book and I do not have the patience to wait for the next ‘installment’, especially when being left with cliffhangers. With Riding Steele being the 3rd book in a series, I don’t understand why the decision was made to chop this book up into 6 parts. However, I couldn’t resist reading Riding Steele because it’s an MC Romance and I’m a sucker for those.
What I Liked: I had only requested the first installment, as this is a new-to-me author and I wasn’t sure what to expect being that this is part of a serial, but the writing captured my attention enough for me to quickly request the rest of the installments. Riding Steele has an interesting premise, and I was curious to find out why the bikers would kidnap Laurie, and what would happen with her once they had her in their hold.
There was some interesting backstory with Steele and with Laurie. There’s a sad and unfortunate event that took place in Steele’s life. Laurie is trying to break things off with her overbearing boyfriend. These elements shaped who these characters are.
I really liked and appreciated how each installment started off with the last scene that took place in the preceding installment. While I pretty much read these installments back-to-back, readers who choose to read this serial in installments as they come out will surely appreciate this.
What I Didn’t Like: There was no real hierarchy in the ‘club’ so it didn’t really feel like an actual MC to me. Steele is referred to as the “leader”, not president, and none of the other members had a role in the club. It was just a group of guys, and a woman, who hang out and ride together. Not exactly the type of foundation I look for in a MC romance but I’ll take it. And the way the guys funded their simplistic lifestyle was a bit farfetched. None of the guys had a job, that I recall.
Let’s talk about the sex. I like smut but this was a bit too much for me. Not necessary a bad thing, just not my thing as I prefer one-on-one relationships while Steele doesn’t mind sharing his woman. I hadn’t read either of the other two books in this series, and the blurb didn’t give any hint of how erotic this story is, so I had no idea until about 1/3 of the way into the 2nd installment.
Also, giving someone not one, but two safe words doesn’t sound like a good idea to me. Laurie is not experienced in BDSM, so for Steele to give her two safe words with two different meanings to remember didn’t make sense to me.
And for all the boinking going on, nobody used a condom nor did anyone talk about birth control of any sort. After seeing an orgy take place before her very eyes, I’d have thought Laurie would have insisted on protection. She doesn’t know any of these people, and they’re casually swapping and sharing sexual partners.
Lastly, Laurie and Steele’s relationship was an insta-love, which is not my favorite.
Overall Impression:Riding Steele was a good read though it was a little too bow-chicka-wow-wow for my liking, which I was totally unprepared for as there was NO indication to the level of erotica mentioned in the blurb. But for those who enjoy extremely erotic romance (we’re talking orgies, sharing partners, BDSM elements, and M/M action) and enjoy MC romance, I’d say this is the book for you.
Let’s talk price: If you’re a fan of serials and love the anticipation that comes with them, and don’t mind paying more to be able to read each installment as soon as it comes out ($1.99 for about 35-40 pages, which comes to about $12 for all 6 installments), then I would say to get them as they come out. There were minor cliffhangers at the end of each installment but nothing too extreme that I couldn’t wait a week for the next installment. But if you’re like me and would rather read Riding Steele in its entirety all at once, then wait until the complete novel releases in March 2015 and get it at the discount price of $3.99. [Note: Prices noted were taken from Amazon when this review originally posted on 11/4/2014.]
Riding Steele is the 3rd book of the Ready to Ride series by Opal Carew. It is also split up in a six part installment. I will review each installment individually, but give an overall view of the book, as well. By the time you've gotten to this third part you are familiar with Opal Carew's spicy, off-the-charts graphic sex scenes. I realize some have huge issues with how Opal writes these scenes. They are very open and not-so-safe practices. Normally, this would bother me, but I think it doesn't because this MC is a very intimate group that doesn't expand or accept new members on a whim. It's almost more like a steady relationship amongst the entire group with one man being the actual boyfriend. Hard to explain, but easier for me to deal with.
Riding Steele: Collide is the third part of the Riding Steele book.
In this part Laurie comes back to the house with a police escort. Just her luck she happens to find the one cop who knows her brother and has ties to the MC.
Laurie admits to the pull she feels towards Steele and really the group as a whole if only to herself. She also begins to see that her situation with Donovan could have ended much worse than just being slapped around a little bit. Not that that's even okay.
Steele gets the heads up from law enforcement saying that Donovan is pressing charges stating that Laurie has stolen a very expensive necklace from him. The very same necklace that he gave her at the bar on the night of their anniversary dinner. He knows it's a trick to get her back in his hands. Which leaves him no choice, but to go on the run with Laurie to keep her safe.
Okay so I was annoyed in installments 1 & 2 and that hasn’t changed in installment #3. Laurie still doesn’t know what the hell she wants and quite frankly her inner dialogue about it is annoying. Steele still seems to be a nice guy but he’s hard to read and not offering up any details other than he’s horney. Laurie did finally talk to her brother but it was only to bitch at him and it doesn’t solve her problems. All and all, I must admit I just don’t like this serial. I give up on 4 & 5 before I even get there.
RIDING STEELE BY OPAL CAREW 6 INSTALMENTS OR 1 BOOK? HOW CAN PUBLISHERS CHARGE $1.99 FOR 30 PAGES? HOW CAN THOSE 6 INSTALMENTS, IF PURCHASED SEPARATELY, BE $12 YET IF YOU PURCHASE THE BOOK IN ITS ENTIRETY, THE PRICE IS LESS THAN $9? I HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING A HIGHER PRICE FOR A QUALITY BOOK, J R WARD AND SHELLY LAURENSTON FOR EXAMPLE ARE AUTOMATIC ONE CLICKS FOR ME BUT THE LENGTH AND QUALITY I WILL BE GETTING FOR MY DOLLARS MEANS I AM HAPPY TO DO SO. I’VE SAID BEFORE THAT I DISLIKE THIS GROWING TREND FOR SPLITTING BOOKS INTO INSTALMENTS, PERSONALLY I FEEL IT’S JUST A CON TO GET READERS TO PAY EXTRA TO GET THE BOOK EARLIER RATHER THAN WAIT FOR THE PRODUCT IN FULL, CHEAPER BUT LATER AND 30 PAGES IS, IN MY OPINION, NEITHER HERE NOR THERE - A SLIGHT TASTE BUT NOT ENOUGH TO BECOME INVESTED IN THE STORY OR THE CHARACTERS. AT THE END OF THE FIRST INSTALMENT I WAS JUST FRUSTRATED AS IT FELT LIKE A COUPLE OF CHAPTERS ONLY AND THEN BOOM, THE END. I NEVER PURCHASE BOOKS SOLD LIKE THIS AND HAD THESE NOT BEEN ARCS I WOULD NOT HAVE READ, AS A FULL EBOOK $9 FOR UNDER 200 PAGES IS RIDICULOUS BUT THAT’S JUST ME…… THE REASON I CHOSE TO REVIEW THE ARCS WAS BECAUSE I HAVE READ OPAL CAREW BEFORE AND ENJOYED HER BOOKS, SWING IS AN OLD FAVOURITE. AS A REVIEW IT’S DIFFICULT BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE INSTALMENTS - AS AN OPAL CAREW IT’S NOT A BAD ONE, AS AN MC BOOK IT’S NOT A BAD ONE, AS AN EROTICA IT’S NOT A BAD ONE, BUT IT LACKS THAT SPECIAL SOMETHING, THE X-FACTOR IF YOU LIKE, THAT WOULD MAKE IT A FAVOURITE OR A REREAD.
In the arms of an outlaw, she found the freedom to live out her wildest fantasies. Don’t miss this scorching new six-part mini-series from New York Times bestselling author Opal Carew!
When Laurie is kidnapped by bikers, she has no idea her life is about to change forever. From the moment she meets Steele—their sinfully sexy leader—she can’t deny their fierce attraction. Even though she’s completely at his mercy, his eyes soften when he looks at her, and the others in his gang know she’s strictly hands off. But the more time she spends with Steele, the more her body insists she wants his powerful hands all over her.
Now she’s about to discover a new life on the open road…and what it means to be part of a gang that shares everything. At first their wonton lifestyle shocks her senses—but once she’s had a taste of life on the edge, will she ever want to leave?
Riding Steele #1: Kidnapped Being kidnapped by bikers is a harrowing experience, but for some reason, Laurie doesn’t feel as terrified as she should.
Now he and Laurie are in hiding at an isolated cabin, and Steele has to figure out how to extricate himself . . . and steer clear of his accidental captive whose tight, slinky clubbing attire is making him think all kinds of dangerous thoughts…
IN THIS FIRST INSTALMENT WE MEET STEELE AND THE REST OF HIS CREW HAVING DRINKS AT A BAR ON HIS BIRTHDAY WHILE KEEPING AN EYE ON LAURIE AS A FAVOUR FOR AN OLD FRIEND. LAURIE IS OUT WITH HER BOYFRIEND DONOVAN WHO SHE IS INTENDING TO BREAK UP WITH. HIS DOMINEERING, CONTROLLING WAYS AREN’T SITTING WELL WITH HER AND THE RECENT ESCALATION IN ROUGH PLAY MEANS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. STEELE VETOES KIDNAPPING HER TO KEEP HER SAFE AND LEAVES THE BAR WITH JUST ONE MEMBER LEFT BEHIND TO WATCH HER. UNFORTUNATELY CIRCUMSTANCES DICTATE THAT LAURIE DOES IN FACT END UP KIDNAPPED AND IN A HOUSE FULL OF BIKERS. AS A START THIS IS REALLY JUST A SETTING THE SCENE. WE SEE INTERACTION BETWEEN STEELE AND THE MEMBERS, LAURIE COMES ACROSS AS QUITE WEAK IN THIS ONE AND LITTLE TO NO SEXUAL CONTENT.
Riding Steele #2: Untamed THE STORY CONTINUES WITH LAURIE ATTEMPTING AN ESCAPE THAT RESULTS IN A NICE LITTLE VOYEURISM SCENE AS WELL AS A THREESOME. OPAL CAREW DOES GOOD SEX! A MISTAKEN IDENTITY ISSUE RAMPS UP THE TENSION BETWEEN STEELE AND LAURIE AND SO ANOTHER ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE FOLLOWS.
Riding Steele #3: Collide THIS WAS A DISAPPOINTING ONE. STEELE AND LAURIE FINALLY GET IT TOGETHER BUT I WAS SO ANNOYED BY HER WEAK AND INCONSISTANT BEHAVIOUR THAT I JUST DIDN’T CARE BY THAT POINT. LAURIE FINALLY DID ESCAPE ONLY FOR A TWIST TO END UP WITH HER BEING RETURNED TO STEELE. LOTS OF BACKGROUND INFO AND SETTING THE SCENE AGAIN BUT THAT JUST MEANT IT FELT LIKE NOTHING OF INTEREST HAPPENED.
A DISAPPOINTING OFFERING IN MY OPINION THAT DOESN’T QUITE DELIVER ON ANY LEVEL. A 3 STAR MAYBE BUT, IN VIEW OF THE PRICING, A 2.5 STAR AT BEST.
Riding Steele: Collide by Opal Carew is the third part of her new six-part serial Riding Steele. Riding Steele will be released as a full length novel in early 2015 as book 3 in her Ready To Ride series.
Collide picks up right where Untamed left off... The police officer that picked up Laurie from the middle of nowhere is actually Killer, the close friend of Laurie's brother that asked the crew to help with her situation in the first place. Once back at the cabin, with the crew, Killer tries to explain to her about Donovan's shady past. The accusations and charges he's managed to avoid and even the missing women that he's never been directly tied to but they believe he is responsible for their disappearance.
Laurie is beginning to realize just how big and bad the bullet is that she dodged. Now she just feels stupid and weak. After a mini blow out at the lake between Laurie and Steele, he stalks off and is gone riding all day. Laurie enlists Raven's help in an attempt to make Steele understand that she does NOT view him the same way she does Donovan and that despite their situation, she does trust him to keep her safe.
That all gets put to the test when a call comes in from Killer giving them a heads up that trouble is on it's way...
His heart thundered in his chest. She wanted him to dominate her. Despite how her boyfriend had treated her. Or more likely because of it. She wanted to get past her fear, and she trusted Steele to help her. ~ Steele
This is the third instalment of this series and follows directly on from the previous book. Laurie has escaped from Steele and his fellow bikers and has just been spotted by a police car. She's beyond relief to escape her kidnappers and finally feels safe. That's a feeling that's been absent a long time though as her abusive boyfriend Donovan has kept her on edge permanently with his selfish and violent treatment . Not everything is as it seems though and Steele is actually trying to protect Laurie and she may have got away frm him but fate has a funny way of pulling a fast one! Ok now this was a much better instalment than the previous one which kind of got bogged down with ménage . In this episode Laurie opens up and talks about the abuse she has suffered and then takes matters into her own hands. The attraction between Laurie and Steele is palpable and it's clear he is a man with strong needs but there's a trust growing between them that's heartwarming to read. Steele may want Laurie but he's not the sort of guy to force himself on any woman least of all one who clearly needs protection . There's a softer side to Steele that's unexpected but unfortunately it's a cliffhanger ending which sees the heroine about to face her worst nightmare ! This is a fast paced read with very strong characters. Just when I expected the couple to finally set the sheets on fire the author threw a curveball that was totally unexpected and I think that's what I'm enjoying the most actually. Nothing in this scorching hot story has been what I would have predicted and I'm loving that every episode surprises me . This is proving to be a riveting read and I eagerly await the next instalment.
The end of Untamed left us wondering whether or not Laurie found safety when she happened upon a police officer during her bid to escape Steele and the other bikers. As luck would have it, the officer she is rescued by is her brother’s friend Killer, but she doesn’t learn that until he returns her to Steele. Understandably Laurie is both relieved and distraught because as much as she doesn’t want to admit it to herself, Steele makes her feel safe … among other things.
Collide proves to be one doozy of a rollercoaster ride of emotions for Laurie as she deals with her failed escape attempt, her brother’s concerns and half-hatched kidnapping plan, an increased fear of Dominic once she hears what Officer Grainger (aka Killer) dug up on him, and her unresolved feelings for Steele – she wants him and she trusts him, but she’s not sure she can trust her own instincts anymore. Although Laurie and Steele still have yet to consummate their lust, Ms. Carew does treat us to a mouthwateringly erotic foreplay scene that also helps Laurie replace some of the bad memories she has regarding Dominic’s treatment of her. I really liked how Laurie was able to recognize her knee-jerk reactions were to the scene and not Steele and that she took steps to apologize to him for her reaction and to prove that she did indeed trust him. And with the way Collide ended, I am so freaking glad I have Wanted all queued up on my Kindle to read next.

Collide is the third book in the Riding Steele serial series and another fantastic instalment. In this one we discover who Donovan really is and what he is capable of. Now Laurie is actually worried for her life.
Maybe now Laurie will realise that she is safer with Steele and his crew than out in the world for Donovan to find and punish. Steele tries to connect with Laurie again, he’s being mister sensitive and asks her to share with him what went wrong with Donovan. When she breaks down, Steele pulls her into his lap where she proceeds to sob, but one thing she does realise, she is definitely safer in Steele’s arms.
Laurie still can’t give in to her body’s needs with Steele, every time they begin, she panics thinking back to Donovan. Steele is becoming so frustrated with Laurie and the only thing he can do is ride. Steele rides off to cool down and Laurie feels awful that she’s driven him away.
Laurie comes up with an idea on how she might be able to overcome her apprehension of intimacy and gets Raven’s help. Will Laurie overcome her fear and give in to her desire? Will Steele find his patience and let Laurie dictate what she wants? What is happening with the whole Donovan debacle?
Another quick and intense instalment. I am really enjoying Opal Carew’s writing style and I am totally addicted to the serial style series. I highly recommend this series to all adult erotic readers that are wanting muscled up, well-endowed bikers, intrigue and loyalty beyond compare.

Collide picks up where Untamed left off. Laurie thinks that she has finally escaped Steele when she is brought back to the cabin. Laurie was told the things that her ex is capable of and she is feeling very vulnerable. Finally Laurie sees that Steele and his gang are trying to protect her. They don’t want to hurt her. Laurie is starting to trust Steele and they finally give into their attraction to one another. Just when they are starting to get to know one another there is a twist and a cliffhanger. I enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters are starting to grow on me. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars!
In COLLIDE, part three of the RIDING STEELE serial, we return to the character-driven story which made part one (KIDNAPPED) both exciting and interesting. COLLIDE starts with the mysterious Officer Grainger (who ostensibly rescued Laurie) taking surprising action on behalf of the motorcycle club, but don't worry; he's got Laurie's best interests at heart. This segment of our story develops both the blossoming relationship between Steele and Laurie as well as the suspense story surrounding her abusive ex, Donovan. Readers will recall the expensive necklace which Donovan attempted to collar Laurie with in KIDNAPPED, as it again becomes a tool which Donovan uses as he continues to attempt to control Laurie, even in her absence. COLLIDE ends in the same tone with which it begins...suspenseful action. The strength of story here is just what was needed after the extended sexual shenanigans which weakened the storyline in part two (UNTAMED). In COLLIDE, the sexual heat between Steele and Laurie is as combustible as it has been since the moment they met, and there is the right amount of story to go with it. Come along for the ride; Steele is a keeper!

I'm going to review the entire serial in this one review because each installment is so short it would be impossible to give any sort of impression about the individual volumes.
Overall I'm going to be giving the serial 3 stars ... there is a lot of potential here, but everything was so rushed and just when it felt like the author was going to start developing into more she pulled back and moved along. I enjoy reading a serial because they are fast paced and quick, but this one had way too much happening for each volume to be so short.
It's really a shame because i think had Ms Carew taken more time and expanded certain scenes this could have been an amazing MC series. I loved all of Steele and his crew ... Laurie was a typical damsel in distress fighting against the people who were trying to 'save' her, but I think had there been more development I could have really loved her character too.
There are a few smutty scenes throughout the different volumes.... they are short and dirty.
All in all I would happily read another book by this author, but I will likely either avoid serials OR wait until the full serial is released before reading.
At the end of Book #2 , we read as Laurie tried to escape and managed to catch up with a policeman. Turns out though that the policeman is one of Steele's friends and actually worked undercover as a biker with the nickname Killer. He is also the friend of Laurie's brother who set the guys up to keep an eye on her and isn't very happy that they have committed the felony of Kidnapping. In Collide, we do see the passion and intensity start to flare between Steele and Laurie as she hands himself over to him and this book folks is quite steamy as the pair have several sex scenes in Collide and remember it's only a serial episode so of course the sex takes up alot of pages. In Collide , we also learn more about Donovan's past as Killer has done a background check on him and we learn a little more about Laurie's background with him and the way their relationship worked. What will happen though in the end when it turns out there is an arrest warrant for Laurie as Donovan has decided a little payback is needed and has accused her of stealing the necklace he gave her as an anniversary present. Can the boys keep Laurie hidden or will Killer have to take her into the station and Laurie be made to come face to face with the enemy Donovan ? Find out in Serial Episode #3 Collide in the Riding Steele series by Opal Carew. The perfect read if you love Bikers , Hot Guys and Sex as well as a quickie read.

When something doesn’t feel right with intercourse you should be able to say no and not have to deal with consequences.
In the third installment of Riding Steele we get Laurie’s confession of what was happening behind close doors with Donovan. He claimed to be a dominant and she was his slave but he was no where near close to being a dominant. No dominate should treat their submissive or slave the way he treated her and the worst part she had no safe word. I could not believe the things that he had done to her. She was trying to figure out how she could want Steele when he came of as dominating but there was a difference. She felt safe with him but she couldn’t at times separate what Donovan did to her and what Steele was making her feel. I was so happy when finally Laurie and Steele were able to somewhat be together but then that was shattered with a phone call from Killer.
Collide was a very interesting read that I learned a lot more about Laurie and her relationship with Donovan. I was able to see her explore being with Steele and seeing that there was nothing about being restraint it was all on how Steele was making sure that she was pleasured but also making sure that she was not hurting.
I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.

This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
The story continues as Laurie struggles with her attraction to Steele while still in the dark as to her reason for being held by them. As she runs away one day and get lost in the rain she is rescued by a police officer who happens to be a friend of Steele’s and is returned to the motorcycle gang. I was happy to see that Laurie finally realizes that the men have her best interest at heart and are in fact working with her brother to keep her safe. We are given more background information on Donovan and Laurie’s past relationship and it is easy to see that Laurie got out just in time. The sexual tension between them is further explored in this part of the series as Laurie tries to come to grips with the difference domination can make when the man cares about both his and her pleasure. It was the best part of this series so far and had some unforeseen twists in such a short story.
I'm a fan of Opal Carew's and I like the steam that she puts into a read. At the same time she writes a story that draws you in and creates characters that you fall for and want to see get their HEA! I am not a huge fan of the serialized approach to a story - I would rather read it all at one time - but I knew this going into this read so I will not count off for something that is a personal preference.
Laurie is scared and skittish from a relationship that started good and turned very very wrong... Steele is a tough tattooed motorcycle guy that came into her world via her protective and concerned brother... The resulting story is HOT and sweet and real in the sense that any smart woman would be leery to fall again, but man oh man who can resist Steele and the men who follow him?? Even though the characters were introduced in a previous story this read is a standalone and you will not be lost if you haven't read the first 2 books of the Ready to Ride series.
Warning!! This turns into a very graphically erotic series!!
Now that I have started to read this series, I am compelled to finish. Still the underlying story is pretty interesting & I am going to finish this series, so I know what happens.
After the police bring Laurie back & she still tries to escape, Steele gets mad at her & she asks Raven for help to lure him to her bed... She wants him.
I am getting bothered with the constant "how could a strong & independent woman let a man hurt her & she lets it continue" It's a question to herself all the time, and I want to know too, because she is seeming pretty wimpy & zeta to me...
Now, Steele & Laurie have to go on the run.
These books are so short, I can't really give away the whole story.
This whole thing about passing a woman around freely is just different. Surprisingly, that's the only issue I don't like. Everything else is more like "whatever" and move on.
This is not the way I like authors or publishers to present a full story line in little cliffhangers of 35 pages per book at $1.99 per (x) 6 books. Okay, off my soap box now. Anyway, the box does start to become more griping. Laurie finds out just how dangerous Donovan Blake is, that she is not the first girl he has done this too either. His money has bought his way out of other towns he has lived in. The scary part two girls have come up missing. After hearing this information Laurie breaks down and turns to Steele. Their relationship goes through different stages that are interesting. Just when they are about to consummate their relationship Donovan Blake throws a curve ball right at them. 3 Finally Stars
Again the author seamlessly picks up where she left us hanging in book two. Laurie finds herself still denying what she wants from Steele but the denial gets harder to portray. She's angry and afraid; a little weak in my opinion. Steele seems just as conflicted though he's all alpha male just reeking of carnal desire. Laurie's past fully reveals itself and the answers ease her mind yet make her more vulnerable in their wake. Steele wants to protect Laurie. The writing and plot move so easily the story is over just as fast as it begins. This book ends in a cliffhanger though not as acutely striking as the previous two. We have some answers unlike the others and we just wait to see where Steele takes us.
REVIEW: Collide is the third installment in Opal Carew's adult, contemporary RIDING STEELE erotic serial.
Part three reveals more about the volatile relationship between Laurie Conners and Donovan Blake-Donovan's penchant for kinky sex games that have resulted in a number of complaints in the past. As Steele and the others keep a protective eye on Laurie she begins to believe that her saviours are nothing more than a different kind of prison.
Opal Carew continues to build on the erotic serial formula. Laurie and Steele's attraction to one another takes another step towards a different type of relationship.
As for the serial format, each instalment is approximately 30 pages in length or ONE chapter in total.
It truly must be said as the series goes on...look how HOT the covers are. I mean, each one is beautiful...but that man deserves a slow clap for that body. Anyways. I digress..
Just when Laurie thinks there is a light at the end of the tunnel....someone she least expects "helps" her...right back to where she began her predicament. That definitely didn't go as planned...and we were so conflicted about it! Laurie here I think probably tried our patience though more than we would've liked of our heroine...so that made her...kind of whiney. But...Steele is there to be a knight in shining armor in the best way, so he hopefully began the journey to make her love herself again.
Thanks netgalley for a free read in exchange for a review. I enjoyed reading this serial, but I think it would have done better as a regular novel. The first three parts didn't really suck me in as well as the last three but the ending satisfied me. It seems to be the new thing for authors to create a serial, but to me they're just exhausting. I like plain old beginning, middle, and end. This serial seemed to have many highs and lows and I felt frustrated with the first three parts. I had just finished Wild ride a few days ago so many of the characters were still fresh for me, so it was nice to get to see them again so soon. The cover is very hot, and the synopsis is what caught my eye. Overall entertainment is three stars.
Laurie thought she was safe but was returned to the bikers. Now she has to try to escape again or does she? They now share the info they know about her boyfriend that only scares her more. She was really saved by being kidnapped. She feels safe with Steel but she was safe with her boyfriend in the beginning also. Laurie is confused and scared. She feel stupid for trusting and wonders if she is about to be stupid again. She is growing closer to Steel and they both want each other. What happens if she give into the desire? Will she be making a mistake? RIDING STEELE SERIES (must be read in order): 1. Kidnapped 2. Untamed 3. Collide 4. Wanted 5. Crossroads 6. Aftershock
Laurie had no idea that her boyfriend would turn out to be so overly domineering that she would need rescuing or kidnapping. Once she realizes that she had indeed been taken she was furious. That was until she was thrown into the same room as the bikers gangs leader named Steele. One look at him and she understood what her heart wanted from the beginning. Now could she forgive him for kidnapping her.
Opal Carew is a fantastic erotic writer. When reading her novelettes you become engrossed in the story line as well as the hot sex scenes. I am only giving this series 3 stars because some of those scenes were just too far out even for me. The story line was fantastic and it had great ebb and flow.
