Everything was just fine. Until he showed up. Then my world came crashing down around me.
Jackson Bentford was something from my past, a mere memory of a love that I left behind in college. He was the picture-perfect boyfriend, and the reason I became the version of myself I always yearned for. We were madly in love, ready to commit to one another for a lifetime, but secrets managed to make everything fall apart at the seams.
Five years later, I moved on to bigger and better things. I’m with a man I love and I’m advancing in my career at ESPN. My life was exactly the way it should have been.
Then I was blindsided – Jackson strolling back into my life without any warning with his captivating smile, and body that looks like it was carved by the Greek Gods. I should have known that our first interaction after so many years apart would have been intense, but I didn’t realize how life altering his presence would become.
I, Hillary Brown, knew he was trouble. I knew he would bring nothing but uncertainty into my life, but that didn’t stop me from accepting his friendship.
Perhaps it’s for closure. Perhaps it was because my heart couldn’t say no to him, even after all this time.
No matter how many times I reminded myself that he was simply a friend, it seems I was falling in love with him all over again.
So what happens when I can’t contain my feelings for my ex-boyfriend, while maintaining a relationship with my current boyfriend? What happens when the secrets I buried five years ago resurrect?
I should have listened to the warning bells. I should have never let Jackson Bentford back into my life.

Emily Louise was an author recommended to me. She doesn’t have many works to choose from, so I chose this book and I’m glad I did. I wish her all the best in the future and hope you guys take a chance and read her book, you won’t be sorry ☺️
This was an emotional, moving story of two people meant for each other, Hillary and Jackson. Hillary’s story touched my heart on a profound level. She showed such strength and resilience even in the face of adversity. Her story is inspiring yet heart breaking and sheds light on a topic not really talked about.
This is a must read for anyone who wants to have their heart ripped out and put back together better than it was. This was a beautiful read that made me smile, laugh, and cry all at the same time ❤️

This was my first time being an ARC reader. I loved to have this opportunity. *It took me a while to read as I have kids.

I loved reading about Hillary & Jackson. Their time they had before they were reunited. The realness of how players must feel in real life, all the news and fandom. Kylie’s time of being alone and doing everything herself while her husband had to be the main supporter. Making new friends. The weight of having a demanding job taking time away from the one’s you love. Such a beautiful feeling of happiness. I may have been super giddy while reading some parts of the book while also may have cried at some of the scenes that took place.

This is a great book and an even better book if you love second chances and football.

I can’t wait for the other books to come out!

I received an arc copy of this book, all opinions are my own.

This book was good but wasn't quite for me. The relationship between Hillary and Jackson was toxic and tumultuous. There were some pretty grey areas too that to me seemed unnecessary to the plot. (big moral questions, little plot playoff).

The story is good, but for me it was a lot of drama and trauma. I wish there was more focus on the rebuilding of the relationship with Hillary and Jackson, as that sort of resolved pretty quickly at the end.

The author does tackle some pretty tough topics in this book and doesn't sugarcoat them. Miscarriage is brutal and not discussed often and even though it was hard to read, I'm glad the author didn't sugarcoat this topic.

Book Review: Interception by Emily Louise

Emily Louise’s debut novel, Interception, marks a compelling entry into the realm of sports romance, deftly intertwining themes of love, trauma, and personal growth against the backdrop of the competitive world of football. This novel not only engages readers with its emotive narrative but also provides a nuanced exploration of the complexities of relationships in high-pressure environments.

At its core, Interception follows the journey of Hillary Brown, a character who embodies resilience and vulnerability. Through Hillary’s experiences, Louise skillfully navigates the intricacies of human emotions, capturing the essence of a woman striving to reclaim her identity amidst the chaos of romantic and professional turbulence. The author’s portrayal of Hillary’s trauma and her subsequent journey towards healing is both poignant and relatable, resonating with anyone who has faced adversity.

Louise’s writing style is notable for its fluidity and vivid imagery, immersing readers in the electrifying world of football. The dynamics between characters are intricately crafted, showcasing not only romantic tension but also the camaraderie and rivalries that characterize sports culture. The dialogue is sharp and authentic, reflecting the personalities and backgrounds of the players involved. This authenticity adds depth to the narrative, making the reader feel as though they are part of the unfolding drama on and off the field.

Moreover, Interception does not shy away from addressing significant issues that permeate both sports and society at large. Themes of mental health, self-worth, and the impact of public scrutiny on personal lives are woven seamlessly into the storyline. These elements elevate the novel beyond mere entertainment, inviting readers to reflect on their own experiences and the societal constructs surrounding success and failure.

Emily Louise’s love of reading and her keen understanding of the literary landscape are evident in her debut. The book demonstrates a well-structured plot, with a satisfying arc that balances tension and resolution. As the narrative unfolds, readers are treated to unexpected twists that keep them engaged while also fostering a deeper emotional investment in the characters’ journeys.

In conclusion, Interception is a commendable debut that captivates with its rich storytelling and relatable themes. Emily Louise has successfully created a narrative that not only entertains but also provokes thought and discussion about love, resilience, and the human spirit. As readers turn the final pages, they are left with a sense of hope and a renewed understanding of the power of personal connection. This book is a must-read for fans of the romance genre, particularly those who appreciate the intricate dance between love and ambition in the world of sports. Emily Louise is undoubtedly an author to watch, and Interception sets a promising foundation for her future works.

* Thank you to the author, Emily Louise, and Rattle The Stars PR for the opportunity to be on the ARC Team! *

In the past couple of years, I’ve fallen in love with sports romance. I read a few books. When I heard about Interception, I knew that I had to check it out. Just the blurb had me intrigued and wondering about what was going to happen with Hillary and Jackson. This story ended up being so much more than I expected. I was not prepared for the emotions that I would experience while reading this book. Interception is not a story I will forget. I adored Hillary and Jackson’s story, but my heart broke for the two of them on multiple occasions, and I also wanted them to find their way to each other. Their story was inspirational in so many ways.

b> Interception was a breathtaking debut novel. Emily Louise did an outstanding job of describing everything, especially Hillary and Jackson’s emotions throughout. Even though I couldn’t even begin imagining what Hillary and Jackson went through, I felt as if I did. Interception had one of the best vivid imaginations I have read in a while. You could feel tension and attraction from the moment Jackson came back, and the two of them saw each other. Every scene between the two of them had me turning the pages because I was eager to see what would happen next. I was rooting for two of them from the beginning.

Emily included some hard issues in this book, which made the story feel so much more realistic. I like how the story transitioned between the present and the past, giving us more insight into Hillary and Jackson’s story. There was part of me that couldn’t stop turning the pages, but there was also part of me that didn’t want the story to end. I’m so glad that I got the chance to read this story, and I’m eager to see what Emily Louise has in store for us next.

I received an ARC copy of this story and my review is based on my honest opinion.

I love a good sports romance and a second-chance trope. This story, unfortunately, just wasn't for me. I enjoyed the dual POV because it helps me get into the minds of both our characters. Jackson and Hillary have such a complicated history. Hillary demonstrates great strength and resilience and how she has endured even through her struggles is admirable. I loved seeing how Jackson was so gone for her since he met her. I do wish that we would have gotten a little more on how their relationship started. I kind of went from when they met to a year later when they were dating already for almost a year.

It was sweet how much Jackson still loved Hillary even after all the years they had spent apart. Hillary pushed through her struggles and made something of herself.

I still think the overall story was well thought-out and the writing was well done. For a debut novel, this was great! I applaud all authors that publish their work and bring their stories to life. Although this wasn't the book that I personally overly enjoyed, it might be one that you enjoy.

I loved this so much! This story captured me so quickly. I really appreciated the complexity of Jackson and Hillary (even if I wanted to shake her occasionally). Emily Louise covered some very hard topics with such grace, and the emotions/aftermath that Hillary went through is so realistic and raw. Jackson was absolutely swoon worthy with how passionate and loving he was, especially when our FMC was doing everything to push him away. As a debut novel, this was absolutely fantastic. I’m so excited to see more of our sin city players.

The only reason this did not get 5 stars from me was honestly due to grammar/easily fixed issues. The story was so good and really captured me, but there were some things I just couldn’t get over as far as editing, unfortunately. I understand this was a debut, however I feel terribly that there were so many errors in a book with SUCH a good storyline.

Definitely my favorite romance read this year!

That being said, this is more than just your typical romance read.

The characters are so well written and have so much depth to them. The friend group was so relatable, the conversations between them sounded exactly like conversations I have with my friends now.

Additionally, although the spice is *chefs kiss*, what really kept me invested was how the story also weaves in themes of love, loss, friendship, and connection. This book had me laughing, crying, and feeling the raw emotions of the characters.

Loved reading this debut novel, can’t wait to see what the author comes up with next. (Personally I’m most excited to learn more about Jake and Kylie) ❤️

What a fantastic debut novel by Emily Louise. This book is a second chance, football romance that I could not put down. The entire book kept me guessing and I had to keep going to find out what happens next!

The prologue really kicked my interest in gear because it is a flashback to how things ended with Jackson and Hillary 5 years ago. We are then brought into present times where we are left wondering what happened.

Jackson and Hillary see each for the first time, after 5 years of not seeing each other. It is a chance encounter that seems to come at a time that everything is falling apart.

Gosh, this book had so much heart break but it was so good at the same time.

Interception is a sports romance with heartbreaking moments and rekindling relationships. This is Hillary and Jackson’s story with second chances and understanding. Hillary has lived a normal life that she thought she deserves, until her past love came back to show her what she is missing. I love how they rekindled their friendship and slowly building the trust again. I also love how determined Jackson is and how he pushed Hillary to open up about what had happened. Their story took me on an emotional roller coaster and I love how they just knew their time wasn’t up. I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more.

I voluntarily leave my honest thoughts about this advance readers copy.

I had the privilege of being an ARC reader for this book, this was my first time being an ARC reader.

Emily Louise's "Interception" is more than just a romance; it's a deeply moving story that resonated with me on a profound level. Hillary's journey touched my heart, and I found myself in awe of her strength and resilience. Her story is both heartbreaking and inspiring, shedding light on an experience that is often kept in the shadows.
This book serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and compassion. It's a must-read and a testament to the power of storytelling to create understanding.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this work. This story was great; it had me giddy, excited, shocked, and l even cried a little! I would definitely recommend going in blind for the full emotional impact (unless you have specific triggers), but there is one thing I can say: Hillary and Jackson were meant for each other, no matter how much time or other people try to get in their way.

Excited for this to be shared with the world!

4.5 ⭐

Did I stay up all night reading this when I should have been sleeping? Yes
Could I put it down? No
Did I binge it all in 3 hours? Yes (don't start a new book at 2am 🤣)

I absolutely loved this found again romance by Emily.
The story will pull at your heartstrings and keep your pages turning because you want to know what happens next.

Had a lovely mixture of sugar and spice and loved how deep the MMC loved the FMC.
There's also a bit of intrigue as the past doesn't come to light till later in the book.

The only 2 issues I had was a small typo where one of the names changed (Jake to Jack - luckily didn't really interrupt the flow of the book) and also where the FMC describes herself:
"I'm a domineering woman but like to sub for him in the bedroom" - the whole book is about how she lost her confidence and how she was a shell of herself.

I just finished Interception and it really was such a touching book. Yes it had some spice to it :)) but the storyline was sweet, personal, and touching. What Hillary experienced was real and all the emotions that went with it were real. I felt touched by her story. And on top of that, her and Jackson’s love was unbreakable. I loved their second chance story and I loved that with all the feelings the characters experienced they asked themselves the questions we ask ourselves often when we don’t know the right answer or the right choice. Life is full of choices and some are harder than others. Hillary and Jackson’s story depicts that in the best way. I loved this book and would definitely recommend if you’re into sports romance and second chances 🏈📖💗💗

Jackson and Hillary’s story was hard to put down! The flashbacks to their college relationship was well done and made me root for them in the present. And this friend group? I want to join it! I loved the women in this book and I really hope we get more about them in future books?! As all good romance novels should, this book covers heavier topics beneath its steamy romance appearance, and it’s done well!

When I first requested this ARC, it was partially because I’m a huge fan of sports romances and partially because the author and I have the same name. I frequently read sports romances, typically those with light-hearted content. These books serve as my casual reading material when I prefer a less intense experience. This book was not a light and fluffy read. This book is meat and potatoes delicious.

Hillary and Jackson first meet in college. Hillary is from a stricter more conservative family and college is her first time really experiencing the world away from her parents. Jackson is a little older and focused on his football career but as soon as he saw Hillary, he fell hard. Flash forward eight years later and Hillary is living in Las Vegas, working for ESPN, making her way to her dream job doing sports reporting. Jackson has successfully achieved his professional football aspirations. He has been traded from his long-time team since college to a team in Las Vegas. And Hillary and Jackson are no longer together.

This story alternates between Hillary and Jackson's college days and their present lives. We learn not just about the start of their relationship but also see all the broken pieces eight years later, while learning how it all came to be. The narrative presented is one of hope and heartbreak, focusing on two individuals striving to manage the myriad responsibilities and opportunities that life encompasses.

I loved these deeply imperfect characters. They had great depth and breadth in their stories. The emotions laid out on the page were believable and easy to connect with and potentially tore out a piece of my heart. When I sat down to read this book, I did not expect to finish it at 1am because I could not put it down. I wanted to know the rest of the story. I wanted to know why Jackson and Hillary broke up. I wanted to know what Hillary would decide about her boyfriend. Would Jackson open up to his teammates? Would Hillary truly let her friend in? This book delivered in a big way.
My favorite aspect of this book is the deep connection and feelings the MCs had for each other. They were electric on the page. How their interactions played out when they crossed paths the first few times in Vegas were perfection. The intensity and awkwardness are palpable in those scenes. If I were their friends, I would have wondered what was going on also.

I would have appreciated it if the author had provided more detailed information in certain sections. The reasons behind Hillary's mother's strictness were never thoroughly clarified. It was alluded to, but it still felt unclear to me. After graduation, there is no further mention of Jackson's close college friend. Considering his key role in how Hillary and Jackson meet, it feels odd that he disappears. However, this is perhaps more realistic than other sports romances where teammates remain best friends for life.

This was a beautiful story that tied me up in knots until the very end. It continued to surprise me with the twists and turns and caused me to experience a myriad of emotions. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series and hoping we get peeks of where Hillary and Jackson end up after this book.

Thank you to the author, Emily Louise, and Purple Tree Publishing, for an advanced copy of this book.

When Hillary was a freshman in college, she fell in love with a football star, and although they planned their dream life together, when everything fell apart, they both found themselves broken beyond repair. Now, after five years, she’s living with her NBA star boyfriend, and working her way up the ranks at ESPN, her dream employer. When she’s offered the opportunity to host a new segment featuring the love lives and relationship of pro athletes, she agrees, even though she no longer believes in happily ever after. But when she’s out on a date with her boyfriend and her ex walks into the restaurant, everything changes, and gradually she realizes that maybe her picture perfect life isn’t so perfect anymore.

It took two years for Jackson to accept that Hillary wasn’t going to call him after she shattered his world. Since then, he’s buried himself in the game he loves, football, and any woman he could find. When he’s unexpectedly traded from New England to Las Vegas, he starts thinking that maybe one day he’ll be able to find what he thought he was going to have with Hillary, but as he walks into a popular restaurant only to see her sitting there, his hopes crash around him. While she appears to have moved on, he can still read her better than himself, and it’s clear the man she’s with doesn’t know her at all. After they run into each other again, and determined to find closure, Jackson proposes they be friends, only it quickly becomes clear that there is nothing friendly about the way they both feel.

I received a copy of this book from Rattle the Stars PR and I absolutely loved it. Hillary and Jackson’s story was as heartbreaking as it was beautiful, futher compounded by the complications that were both their personal and professional lives. While it was clear that they had both put up shields to keep others at arm’s length, they were no match for the person who had always held the key. I loved how the author gave us flashbacks into their past, and we got to watch their love grow, and fall apart, helping readers understand how they got to where they were today. When buried secrets come to light, all bets are off, and no one could predict how things would play out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Interception by Emily Louise completely pulled me in and did not let go. I went into this expecting a good sports romance, but what I got was an emotional, angsty second chance love story that had my heart twisting the entire time.

Hillary and Jackson’s story is the kind that lingers long after you close the book. Their history together is layered with love, regret, and secrets that slowly unravel as their paths cross again years later. Watching them face the past and everything they thought they had moved on from felt incredibly real. The tension between them is undeniable from the moment Jackson walks back into Hillary’s life, and every interaction is charged with emotion.

Jackson Bentford is the kind of book boyfriend that sneaks up on you. He is confident, intense, and still clearly carrying the weight of what happened between them years ago. The chemistry between him and Hillary never truly faded, and seeing those feelings resurface made every scene between them feel electric. Their connection felt authentic and messy in the best way, especially as Hillary struggles with the life she has built and the love she never truly let go of.

What I loved most about this story is the emotional depth. It is not just about rekindled romance. It is about growth, forgiveness, and confronting the secrets that once tore two people apart. The angst is delicious and the emotional stakes are high, which made me completely invested in every page.
Emily Louise did a beautiful job balancing sports romance with a deeply personal love story. The world of professional football adds excitement, but the real heart of this book is the complicated love between Hillary and Jackson.

If you love second chance romance filled with tension, heartfelt moments, and a hero who never truly stopped loving his girl, this book absolutely delivers. Interception is emotional, addictive, and the kind of story that reminds you why second chance romances are so powerful. I loved every minute of it.

🌟🌟🌟🌟.75 keep in mind the star review is based off of MY interests!

I loved and hated both Jackson and Hillary I swear I flipped my emotions toward them every chapter. I don’t want to give away anything but the pain Hillary went through, no woman should go through that alone! The frustration with her until I found out was real but then 💔 gut wrenching! Jackson made me swoon with his devotion to kids!

Sooo I had a hard time putting this one down!! There are some interesting plot twists that are hinted at throughout the book but don’t surface until the end and are teased throughout. Interception describes what I would think a life of a sports star would look like, the hardships, the fun time and world wide publicity hazards.

Interception captured what it is like to have a group of friends that equals your family. You get enough backstory from their friends
that you are invested in their side stories within the book. Interception isn’t just about two characters learning to love again, it’s about finding trust and the fragile bond between couples and sacrifice.

The addition of an ESPN side bit was very unique. ESPN is certainly a man’s “game” but women are slowly starting to break that norm. Yay!! Although I’m not personally a Bachelor fan, I do think a lot of people would actually enjoy this show!

The dual timeline past/present killed it! The tidbits of information you received from the past had me begging for more. A LOT happens in their story. There ia a lot but nothing is under described. You do not need to know football to follow the book!

The copy I received did have some spelling errors which is why I didn’t give it a full 5 🌟.

You should read this if you enjoy: sports romance, second chances, 🌶️🌶️🌶️, strong women, slow burn

⚠️ Triggers: loss of a child, grief

Thanks for the advanced copy Emily Louise and rattlethestarspr!

I received an ARC copy of this book, and this review is based on my honest opinion.

I love a good sports romance and a second chance trope, so I went into this one really excited. The dual point of view was a big plus, it always helps me connect more when I can see both sides, and getting into Jackson and Hillary’s heads added a lot to the story.

They have such a complicated history, and the prologue immediately made me want to read more! It flashes back to how everything ended between them five years ago, and from there I was hooked trying to piece together what went wrong. Then we jump to the present, there’s this underlying tension the entire time, especially when they unexpectedly run into each other again after all those years.

I really admired Hillary. She’s been through a lot, but she pushed through and built a life and career for herself at ESPN, which I loved seeing. Jackson…you can tell he’s been gone for her since day one. Even after all that time apart, the way he still loves her was honestly really sweet.

That said, I did wish we got more of their beginning. It felt like we jumped pretty quickly from when they met to them already being deep into a relationship, and I would’ve liked to experience more of that buildup.

This story definitely brings the emotions, there’s heartbreak, secrets coming out, mutual pining, and a lot of healing. I also liked getting little glimpses of the side characters and am curious to see where their stories go.

Overall, this one had a lot of heart. It was emotional, messy, and at times really heavy, but still had some lighter moments sprinkled in.

Thank you Emily Louise & The Rattle the Stars Team for this awesome opportunity to ARC read for this book! InterceptionEmily Louise

!!!SPOILERS!!!! 🚨⚠️
I literally just finished reading it and I have feelings. 🤯🌪️
It's a well written book. ✍️📖
It has cheating. I normally stay clear of this because I'm not a fan, but the author did a great job making it murky/grey and also I did see the trigger warning in the beginning. 🚫🥀❔
the boyfriend and not boyfriend in the end... not enough of him... too much of him. The female character kept telling us he was a good guy... but wasn't convincing. Maybe the author was trying to redeem the FMC with this, so we don't hate her too much. It just kinda annoyed me. 🙄📉
I also kinda dislike the MMC because he uses women as disposable rags in the beginning. I am really over this trope, because I know you can do better (I mean authors). I honestly don't even care why....I dislike this about characters. 🗑️😤❌
I wasn't a big fan of the FMC either. While she was a hard working woman, and her trauma made her what she was, I didn't click with her. 😶👤
Why then 3'7 stars? Because it was a well written story, with the author spoon feeding us the back story, as to not shock us with the reality of traumatic events. It was overly dramatic for me, but is was a gripping story about life. Not one i'd like, not one i'd have and not a romanticized one. Just a life with a lot of bad and the rainbow after the storm. A life worth living and a book worth reading. 🌈⛈️✨

This book may have you re-examine all your previous relationships to determine if any of your exes are possibly still pining over you. LOL! If you love a good story where “meant to be” couples find a way back to each other, despite what life has thrown at them, THIS is the book for you!

Hillary and Jackson’s relationship, both past and present, is so relatable. I remember, back in my dating era, all the drama that came with it. Sometimes, you’d see a relationship coming to an end and catch feelings for someone else (or an ex) before you’ve officially ended that relationship. The pull of emotions when you are trying to make a decision regarding your current relationship while also figuring out your new (or returning) feelings for someone else.

When Jackson comes to Las Vegas and finds himself in the same friends circle as Hillary, after years apart, I could literally feel the conflicting emotions Hilliary felt. The indecision, the strong urges, and devastation over possibly breaking someone’s heart are palpable throughout this book.

Emily has an incredible way of invoking strong feelings with her words. They sneak up on you sometimes, and you find yourself enraged, crying, or insanely happy with a stupid smile on your face. This book flowed so well, I could see this easily being a one day read if you had the time- my toddlers, unfortunately, would not allow that to happen.

The plot itself was so good, the romance aspect was swoon-worthy, and the spice had my toes curling! SO GOOD! I 100% recommend this book! Quick trigger warning- pregnancy/ stillbirth is discussed.

Thank you, Emily Louise, for sending me an advanced reader copy! I can’t wait for others to read your book and love it as much as I did! <3

Interception
Hillary Brown is advancing in her career and has a boyfriend who she claims to love. Her life takes a different turn when her ex, Jackson Benford comes into the picture. They agree to be friends but, Hillary has a secret which his presence resurrects.

---My Thoughts---
Hillary and Steven weren't good for each other. While Steven was a glaring red flag, Hilary was a red sea to both Steven and Jackson.

In Steven's case, there is a difference between hiding a relationship and keeping it private. Hillary hid their relationship. I understood she didn't want his fame to influence her career, but after three years, what do you mean she couldn't tell people who her boyfriend was?
Then homegirl blamed him for her inability to be her true self whenever he was around. While this was true, it was also a disguise for her inability to move on from her ex and love Steven.

Her relationship with Jackson irritated me more. Hilary went through a lot. No woman deserved such pain. However, it's insane to make decisions for someone you claim to love, then be heartbroken when they follow the scripts. She prolonged what a simple communication could fix. When he returned, she continued with it. Like why? O di necessary?

Lessons:
1. Live without the weight of people's opinion about you.
2. Love takes intentionality. It isn't as easy as it is made to be.
3. Consider the changes you want to see, and work for those changes.
4. Choose friends who cheer for you and push you to succeed.
5. When you decide to forgive, forgive completely without holding any grudges.
6. Love comes in various forms, or none at all.
7. Every event in your life pushed you to become who you are today.

🏈 INTERCEPTION by Emily Louise (Re-release 3/25) exactly 1 year from the original publication!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️ SPOILERS AHEAD ⚠️

I really enjoyed this one 🏈💔
The beginning was a little slow for me, but once it picked up, I couldn’t put it down. I ended up reading it in one sitting. This is a second chance lovers sports romance that dives deep into hurt, grief, and trauma.

Jackson and Hillary go through so much, and they felt incredibly real and relatable. Some of their struggles could have been avoided with better communication, but at the same time, that miscommunication is what helped shape their story and bring everything together.

I truly loved Jackson and Hillary. Watching them find their way back to each other, build a sense of family, and heal (with therapy 👏) made the ending feel so well deserved. Their story was emotional, beautiful, and worth the journey. I highly recommend reading this!
⚠️ Definitely check trigger warnings before going into this one! I also have them below!

And I will be reading book two… even though I already know I’m going to want to strangle Brandy most of the time 😂

💬 Favorite quotes:
“Honestly, we’re all a little fucked up in our own way. What separates us from everyone else, though, is that we have one another to lean on.”

“I’ve always wanted to love someone, to feel love for someone, and to be loved by someone special. I never knew love could feel the way I do about you, Hillary. You are my world, my Tulip, and I can’t imagine a life without you in it.” 💐

I saw the word sports romance and I was there! And wow, am I glad to have been a part of the street team for the re-release of this book.

I haven't read an Emily Louise book before but I'm really glad I decided to sign up for this. From the first page I was hooked, Hilary and Jackson were such interesting characters and I couldn't wait to figure out what went on with them to have made them like they are now. Having flashbacks to them in college and glimpses into their relationship really zoned in on the fact that they were and are meant to be and that something must have happened in order for them to drift a part.

There were a few moments where I cried during the story, especially when things were revealed as to what happened and I liked how they grew together to have a second chance. It was definitely heart breaking at times too.

I also loved the friendships that both of them had; Hilary and her friends, especially as she has a hard time making friends and Jackson and his. They were definitely a tight knit group of friends that everyone needs!

I am interested in learning about Gregory and Trisha... (I'm hoping there will be a book about them?) And also Brandy... Hmmm... What she did was just... Yeah, I had a feeling something was going to go down but was still surprised by it!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I want to thank the author Emily Louise herself and rattlethestarspr for a chance to read and review the book!

ARC Review of Interception by Emily Louise:

Roller coaster of emotions!
That is the only way I can describe how I felt when reading this book. The internal battles that the main characters Hillary and Jackson face are what a lot of people deal with on a daily basis. The way their emotions are described and said are so relatable that you feel you are there with the characters.
Hillary and Jackson find themselves back in each other's orbits after many years apart. The longing for each other, the memories, and the battles each of them face within themselves will break your heart and make you cheer for them all at once. The journey these two face, while trying to work out their past but also their future, shows you how powerful their love is. The small details that they still know about each other makes your heart melt.

Support from their newfound friends/family helps them in figuring out how to deal with what they feel and think. The internal battles that Hillary and Jackson fight test everything that they wish for. In the end, they find each other and never let go. They choose to fight together instead of each other and, most importantly, their inner doubts.

If you are looking for your next read, I highly recommend reading Interception.
