Sam and Jason have been at this a long time, and they’re some of the best out there. Gremlins, goblins, ghosts of all kind, vampires, even the yeti that time in Cleveland, they go where they’re needed and they kill what needs killed. It’s that simple. And it’s a pretty good life, really.
Then there’s the girl. Samantha. She’s feisty and difficult and she knows next to nothing about what they do, but she’s pretty handy with a hatchet and seems to just keep tagging along with them, city after city, witch after ghost after spirit, despite Jason’s best efforts to ditch her along the way. If he’d had any idea just how complicated she was about to make their lives, he probably would have left her in Georgia. It’s too bad, really. Sam appears to be in love with her.
Sam and Jason are Rangers. They are on an assignment when they meet Samantha (Sam). She is very secretive and insists on going with them. She also talks to somebody that they can't see.
In my opinion, they characters need more explanation. We are never told who Abby really is. Also it is sometimes hard to know which Sam is speaking.
I did enjoy the book and would like to read the next in the series.
Sam and his brother Jason are Rangers, tasked with hunting and killing all manner of supernatural murderous creatures. When they meet Sam-the-girl outside an abandoned mine full of (now dead) gremlins, they give her a ride into the nearest town for pizza before heading their separate ways.
When Samantha persuades the twins to let her tag along for a while, they have no idea what they're getting into. Samantha is a crazy-skilled fighter with a backpack full of the most diverse weaponry, equally capable of seeing off a Night Hag or a Nix. But being around Samantha is going to turn their world upside down, and there's no going back.
I've read this whole series maybe 5 or 6 times (12 main books, plus a bunch of side books). It's kind of urban meets progression - kind of dark, but also kind of metaphysical. The writing is modern and punchy, the characters are human and 100% believable. It's one of those books where, the first time you read it, you think, what if, maybe, this is actually real?
Without a doubt, this was honestly one of the most confusing books I’ve ever read. I read The Queen’s Chair series by this author and whilst I felt lost at times whilst reading that, it wasn’t anywhere near to this extent. Nothing makes sense and I don’t have any solid understanding of any of the characters. That being said, the ending has me wanting to read the next book.
Update: I’m now seven books into the series—I’ve also read the four novellas that take place before this book that are from Carter’s perspective—and can honestly say that there’s a lot of improvement. Still confusing at times?—yes. But overall really enjoyable!
Title: “Rangers (Sam and Sam #1)” by Chloe Garner Interconnected Series: Yes Standalone: No Cliffhanger: Yes HEA: TBD Triggers: N/A Tags/Tropes: ➢ Love-Triangle ➢ Psychic-MMC ➢ Supernatural-Hunters ➢ Twin-Brothers["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
It’s not often I give myself the chance or time to read a long , or longer than normal book. So it has to be something special for me to do that . I had read one of Chloe’s books “ Book of Carter “ some time ago and I thoroughly enjoyed that. So when the opportunity came up to read the offshoot series of Sam and Sam I jumped at it. I can tell you now I was NOT disappointed. If you like immersing yourself in an intense action packed fantasy adventure, this is the one for you. You will be as hooked as I am in the characters of Sam and Samantha , feeling their pain and passion and the twists in the story that keep you coming back again and again. Book 2 won’t be far behind.
Thank you Chloe for sharing your imagination with us.
It’s a personal preference that I like books that the main character is a woman. This is not the case here. The main character is the two guys and the girl is supporting only when she is in the same room. We don’t follow her as she goes away.
I do read select books with male leads, but this is not one of them. Not my cup of tea.
Een leuk boek beetje een soort broers winchesters Sam en Dean story spannend en je wilt meer ik ben nu al in boek 4 bezig mensen lezen lezen dit is weer een must have
I admit I went in to this book expecting a Supernatural type of spin and although it was close to that genre it was a bit hard to wrap my head around and feel for the characters. The author did well with laying out the back story but I was confused and dialogue didn't help. Two brothers have a job to kill evil beings, hags and witches and such and drive around in their Cruiser doing just that. Along the way of one mission while killing goblins, which are actually lesser demons, they meet a girl who shares the same name as one brother. Their conversation got confusing to follow with many he said, she saids. Their adventures over the next few weeks range from boring the ghost at the lake to the end mission with the whole town of demons being a bit more exciting. Watching the character form a bond while fighting evil is well played but Rangers does a decent run without expecting everything to happen. Since this is a book 1 there will be another story arc and I will look it up and give it a chance. I'd like to know more about Samantha and who she is or was and Carter and his organization. If you like fighting supernatural beings then this story will work for you, not much depth to the characters at least not shown in the first book but the potential is there for much more. Rangers

This book was a interesting read for me. Sam and his brother Jason are rangers they travel all over the country hunting monsters they have been doing this for a long time, and they’re some of the best out there. Then the brothers meet Samantha who also goes by Sam and she knows nothing of what they do but she insist on following them and while carrying a hatchet. The relationship they brothers have complicates the more time they spend with Samantha because Sam has feelings for her. I enjoyed the book but there were times it left me confused because some of the time I couldn't tell which of the Sam's was talking or being talk to and there wasn't a lot of elaboration on some things Abby. All in all the book was good and will definitely read book 2 of the series.
Extreme fan fiction of the tv series Supernatural. I could see Dean Winchester before me and naturally, Sam as Sam. The only true deviance on the tv series is the introduction of Samantha aka Sam who is better at this than the twins. The book is a fun read although not a fast one. However, if you are not a fan of the series Supernatural nor of fan fiction then I would advice against this book for you.
This author has real talent and I for one cannot wait to see where she is going in her career.
1st - I received this book in return for my review - I am not sure this is 5 stars - more like 4 1/2 - they didn't give you that option though. I have to say this book moves at the speed of a train! I had a hard time sometimes remembering where I was and then you jump tracks and Sam (the girl) is talking to imaginary people (or spirits - I don't know yet - that was explained) but anyways - a lot happens in this book! A LOT!!!! Good story, characters, and writing. I will read the next few and see where this train goes!
Book Hangover 8.5 I am going to be truthful, I am still not sure if I liked this series or not. The characters are different from your average, which is really great but I don't feel like I'm really getting to know them. By chapter 5, or what I think is chapter 5, I felt lost as in I wasn't really following along. Now I like the book but I have had to consecutively read it or reread the section before to keep up with the storyline. I will read the rest of the series but I would recommend that the author revise or edit this book.
This book was a fun read and was very entertaining all the way through. This was a great supernatural suspense book. This book by looking at the cover was not what I expected, but it was WAY better. If you like to read supernatural suspense you should read this book. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Well written and very clearly defines all the characters. The story was very riveting and hard to put Dow. I look forward to reading the next in the series. Well done, author
I liked the concept of this book because I like Supernatural. It was written very well but it was too much of fan fiction for me. I also thought the characters needed more back story to make them feel real. If you like fan fiction then this is definitely the book for you.
