The alpha’s brother has met his match.

Celeste Proctor always had the best of everything—expensive homes, fashionable clothing, and the coveted position of beta to the most powerful of all lycans, Drake Randolph. But after the alpha chose another to be his bride, Celeste is left without a mate. She needs one, and fast—the stronger, the better–to maintain her carefully cultivated position. One of the alpha’s brothers will have to do, but which one?

Micah Randolph has always lived in the shadow of his oldest brother. With his country music career heating up, Micah is looking forward to a whirlwind tour and achieving his own success, separate from his position within the powerful Randolph family. When the beautiful yet untouchable Celeste Proctor shows up, determined to mate with him or his twin brother, he has a choice to make: pursue the dream he’s worked so hard to achieve, or be drawn back into pack politics as the mate of a woman looking only to secure her rank in the pack? But the way she makes him feel when she looks at him…can he make her want him for more than his strong, lycan blood?

I cannot say enough good things about the a Tybee Island Shifters series. Both In Too Deep and In Deeper were well-crafted stories with intricate plots and protagonists that you'll love. In In Deep we see a glimmer of the burgeoning relationship between Micah and Celeste. Wow! If I had known then what Gissendaner had in store for the couple I would have been chomping at the bit to get In Deeper into my greedy little hands. In Deeper was sexy, sweet, and full of intrigue and suspense. The Micah and Celeste that we see in the story are valiantly attempted to stifle their feelings for one another -- although Celeste comes to Micah for help of the mating variety. Celeste is being harassed my a silent stalker and feels that she needs the protection of a mate. Oh...not the physical protection because she is the pack beta and quite strong herself. She needs the protection and cache that the Randolph name could offer her in the business arena which is where the threat from the stalker seems to be coming from. But since Drake, the pack alpha, is recently mated, Celeste knows that she has no chance securing him as her mate. So she goes to the backup Randolph -- or so Micah thinks. But, as the plot and story unfolds, the reader is able to see that feelings between Micah and Celeste run deep. Very deep. And neither one of them can deny their fiery passion for the other. Yet, in the process of their relationship discovery, Celeste's stalker amps up his attempts on her life and Micah's protective instincts come blazing to the forefront. Even though he is on tour with his brother, Micah returns home to Tybee every night so he can be with Celeste -- to protect her of course *wink*. Although there is a pretty sexy moment on the phone between them that will leave you fanning your face. I won't tell you all the details to the story because there are a lot of twists that would ruin this amazing read for you. But just know that friends becomes lovers and betrayal runs rampant. But love definitely conquers all. I love seeing how Micah and Celeste are at the end of the story. So sweet. No...what's going on with Mr. Max. He's seems to be silently spiraling out of control. Hopefully help comes for him in the form of a loving and sassy woman.

Christy Gissendaner has done it again with the second in the Tybee Island Shifters Series! I will start with noting that although it is a series the book stands alone with only minor references to the story line in the first book.

In this installment, we delve into the life of Celeste (the pack Alpha) and Micah one of the Randolph Brothers. Micah has always walked in his brother Drake's Shadow. Celeste is learning to live as Drake's Beta instead of his future mate. Turns out she put her feelings for Micah aside to be a dutiful daughter and forge a future that she expected with Drake.

Celeste is having trouble and is being threatened and turns to Micah for help. Micah refuses at first but he too has been hiding his true feelings.

The Adventure and Intrigue is kicked up a notch in this installment. Someone is threatening Celeste and she needs Micah more then even she realizes. Will the road to true love be smooth - of course not! But, the ride is wonderful.

I look forward and hope the next installment finds Max (Micah's Twin Brother), someone to call his own. My heart is breaking for him he seems so very alone and lost.

I would highly recommend this book and the series for all Paranormal Romance lovers. It's hot and spicy and full of action! I can't wait till the next in the series comes to fruition.

Celeste is the beta for the shifter pack to Drake's alpha. She'd always assumed she'd settle in with Drake, but he put the kibosh on that by marrying someone else--and a non wolf shifter, which challenged his position in the pack. Celeste is still getting over her disappointment. She didn't actually love Drake, but she respected him. Enter Micah, Drake's younger brother. Micah and his twin are rock stars. Celeste's always been drawn to Micah, but she never took him seriously. If Micah has his way, that's about the change.

This is a quick-paced, entertaining shifter romance. The drama drew me in, and the sex was hot. Gissendaner is a talented writer, able to create lively characters who stay with you after the book ends. Four and a half stars from me!

Loved this sequel to In Deep. Micah's a great character who came in to his own in this book and finally got the girl he's been in love with for years but thought unattainable! I loved seeing more of Celeste as well! Her and Micah were perfect for each other.

The storyline was fast paced and has the possibility of continuing in the next book as it concerns all shifters. There were a couple of twists in the story that you don't entirely expect and there seems to be something wrong with Max. I wonder if it has to do with him finding his mate? I hope he gets his own book soon and we can find out!

Micah Randolph has a difficult decision to make – pursue the dream he’s worked so hard for or be drawn back into pack politics by mating with a woman only interested in securing her rank in this captivating paranormal romance. I have to say that I kind of had a love / hate relationship with Celeste, she’s very entertaining and I think it’s a good thing she’ll have Micah around to temper her a bit, of course, I could just take Micah away from her and keep him for myself but then again Max –his twin- is still single…maybe I could have him…

3.5/5 stars Famous country singer wolf shifter? Of course I wanted to read this. After reading In Too Deep(Book 1),I knew I wanted to discover more about the three brothers that are featured in these books.

Twins Micah and Max are on their first country wide tour for their first hit album. Celeste shows up unannounced with a proposition for Micah. This is probably the surprise of Micah’s life, but he is very hesitant. Not saying what the proposition is, but it’s a big one. He has loved Celeste since high school, but Celeste has always been his older brother’s girl. Now that Drake is married, Celeste is pretty lost. Not because she loved Drake, but because for the first time in a very long time, her father isn’t pushing her to marry Drake. Not to mention that she has been in love with Micah since high school. Neither knows how the other feels of course.

I really wasn’t a fan of Celeste in the last book. That was probably because she thought she was going to marry Drake, while Drake was busy falling in love with Emma. She wasn’t really that nice. But then she did have her whole world shaken up. I ended up liking her in this book, and since she is a main character, that was good news. Micah was a favorite of mine already so it was fun watching him get his HEA.

As with the first book, there is a mystery involved, and even some life or death moments for Celeste. This causes Micah to come back from his tour every night, and then fly out the next morning for the next concert. This is to keep her safe, even though she is the Beta of the pack, and a very strong wolf. She is also staying at Drake’s house. As Drake is the alpha with mega security measures in place, this just doesn’t make sense to me. The logistics of him doing that every night, after a night concert just made no sense, and really bugged me. I love a good romance, but it has to make sense to me.

I liked the book, but I thought I was going to be reading a book that had more about Micah on tour. You know, falling in love while on tour or something like that. And with the exception of one night depicted, that didn’t happen. And while I am on the subject of that one night, I think this book has one of the longest sexual encounters that I have ever read. Right at 10 percent of the book, and I will be honest, I got a bit bored. After awhile it just seemed like filler. And that was just one of the sex scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind sex scenes. You really can’t have an adult romance without one(or a few), or even an assumed one.

So no, this book wasn’t my favorite of the two, and I do hate to have to say that. I really enjoyed the first one, and actually I liked parts of this one too. I guess I just wanted a story that was more mystery/thriller, or even just a fun shifter story, with less reliance on the sexual component.

So it was a fairly good read, and I think it would be considered almost erotica. I also know that there are lots of people that will enjoy this read. Everyone has different tastes. It just wasn’t the best for me, but was very readable with good characters. And actually, I am still interested in seeing the other brother, Max, get his HEA.(RabidReads.com)
