Joe, an ex-detective and a popular Dom, wasn’t gay. Not one little bit. He told himself that all the time he fought the inexplicable attraction he had for the gorgeous young submissive, Adam. Yet when he learns a psychopath responsible for two murders has set his sights on Adam, and Adam disappears, it suddenly seemed far more important to tell him something else.
Joe realizes Adam has become more important to him than his next breath, but if he can’t track down the psycho that was torturing and murdering submissives, Joe won’t ever be able to tell Adam anything else again, it will be far too late.

Bullets and Babies!

Victoria writes about guys loving other guys in between dodging bullets, kidnappers, and serial killers. She enjoys putting them through hell to get their happy ever after—it’s a character flaw she embraces.

She also believes that family is who you choose, that dogs are often much wiser than human beings, and that we’re steadily destroying the world we live in.

And if people read more books, they'd be much happier.

If you read Pure, you've already been introduced to Joe and Adam. While that story was Lee and Callum's, the reader was aware of the tension between the other two men. I was very eager to read their story and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with how they came together in Pure Indulgence.

Adam is perfect. Joe, though hardheaded, is also perfect. I loved every single page of this book. I can't wait to read more by this author.

This entry was a bit more focused than book 1, and as such narratively worked better for me. Nothing felt as rushed and because the leads knew each other before the start of the book, their connection also felt less instant. My biggest issue with this book is how much of it felt like a repeat of book 1, though a more polished version. A lot of the themes, conflicts, and dialogues were almost identical to the previous book about different characters. There was also a frustrating scene where one character decides to keep information from the other, assuming that person wouldn't find out, and to the surprise of no one, the other character finds out and is hurt by the person's actions. Yes, they make up for it, but it was predictable and unnecessary. I'm torn on reading the last book in this trilogy. I don't want a 3rd variation of the same story, but I am interested in the leads from their introductions in this story.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Joe is not gay. Never been gay and never even thought of a man in a sexual way. Although he has never been happy in any hetero relationship he has been in, including two failed marriages. So for the life of him he can not understand his sexual attraction to a submissive member of the club.

As this book is all from Joe’s perspective, the reader gets all of his inner thoughts and emotions. I have to say some of his thoughts to talk himself out of the attraction is hilarious to read. But there is also the emotional element he goes through trying to make logica out of it all. There is panic, denial, and experimentation on Joe’s part until he finally gives it up and admits his true feelings. There is a very much a “gay for you” theme to this book. Adam even brings it up himself how that is unlikely. But this a happily ever after kind of thing, so luckily those issues are worked out.

Adam is perfect for Joe. He is a great combo of needy sub and a damaged young man. He has not had the best life and not all the questions raised are answered about his life, but I really didn't mind. What really made him perfect was the way he made Joe feel. All the pain and uncertainty Joe puts Adam through with all his mixed signals forces Joe to really put up or shut up.

The psycho element was there, but was not central to me. I think it was more of a literary move to get the Joe and Adam closer together and add some drama. But I think it also introduces more characters that may be seen in future books in the series. At least I sure as hell hope so.

There is just something I love about this series. Its not the sex since that is a minor part, or the BDSM since that is the same. I really just get drawn into the story, into the emotions of it. Joe is a Dom and a former cop and should be all put together, except for this cute sub who knocks him on his ass.

I very much look forward to reading more about the characters in this series.

A review by The Blogger Girls.

This story follows Pure and picks up not long after where that leaves off. While I really liked Pure, there were things, such as the age gap, that threw me off a bit. That wasn’t the case here, so Indulgence worked a little better for me.

We met both of these characters in Pure. Joe was quitting his job as a detective and joining Callum as an investor in the club and partners in the security business. This story begins with Joe’s last day on the job. At this point, he is a two-time divorcee who plays around a little at the club, mostly with women subs. While he has had a few light scenes with men, he has been straight, or a least, he thought he was straight. Adam makes him question and rethink things, which Joe often worked out by way of very funny inner conversations.

Adam was Lee’s friend, a sub who has been helping Lee with the new boutique. He’s a sweet guy who clearly has a past but hides it all behind smiles and what appears to most to be sweet submission. He’s a talented guy, he can sing, he’s going to the same college as Lee, and he has come a long way from his time on the streets.

When trouble finds Adam, Joe is in the right place at the right time and offers to help. Through this, Joe’s protective nature kicks into high gear, and before he knows it, Adam is staying with him. Little by little, Adam chips away at Joe’s I’m a straight guy shell. I liked that Joe didn’t really fight it as much as he was surprised by it and sort of questioned/argued with himself over the possibility.

There is a little bit of mystery and who dunnit, some miscommunications and misunderstandings that almost ruin their chances, but these guys finally figure things out. Whether Joe is just trying to get it out of his system, or they are both on the same page, the scenes were hot and sweet. I really enjoyed these guys together. This story moved along at a quick pace, and wrapped up nicely. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.

REVIEWED FOR PRISM BOOK ALLIANCE

4.5 Stars

We first met Joe in book 1 when he wanted to quit his job as a Detective and invest in Pure and become business partners with Callum. He has achieved that goal as he is on the last day of his job as this book begins. Just as he reaches that milestone his life seems to hit yet another crisis. Joe is a Dom and although he has two failed marriages behind him he has never had a problem getting an abundance of women but he suddenly finds himself very aware of a young male sub called Adam. His internal dialogue is hilarious as he comes up with every excuse in the book as to why he can’t get the younger man out of his mind. One thing he is certain of is that the stomach flutters and the constant state of arousal he finds himself in when Adam is around does not in any way make him gay. He doesn’t fancy Adam, nope not one little bit!

When Adam needs a friend and somewhere to stay for a few days Joe has offered his place before he even realises he has opened his mouth. Between his feelings of attraction and sheer panic the normally put together Dom doesn’t know whether he is coming or going. When subs start turning up dead Joe goes into protective mode and tries to ensure Adam remains safe. After a night of mastering Adam hasn’t quelled his feelings he knows he has a problem but he is still fighting the whole issue of his sexuality.

When Adam is snatched from under Joe’s nose after a misunderstanding Joe finally has to admit how he feels, suddenly not caring what anyone else thinks. The race is on to find the man he wants before it’s too late.

Although I had worked out who the baddie was quite early on in the story it was still an excellent read. Adam was beautiful and immensely patient as he waited for Joe to see what was right in front of him. I’m really enjoying this series and hopefully there will be more to come as there are still a few interesting secondary characters who need to tell their stories.

Pure Indulgence is the second book in the Pure series by Victoria Sue. While this book is part of a series, it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel.

Joe is an ex-detective and a Dom at the local BDSM club. After leaving the police department he becomes buys into the local BDSM club. Joe has two ex-wives and always thought of himself as straight. He never ever even considered men.

Adam is a sub who has a crush on a straight Dom who wants to spend time with him. He has had a rough life and is barely scraping by. Adam seems crushed when he finds out that Joe is straight even though they played around together.

The connection between Joe and Adam is intense. While it’s not normally realistic for someone who is straight to change their sexual preference. Its apparent right from the start that Adam intrigues Joe in ways he does not expect or really know how to deal with. However when Adam is kidnapped, Joe does not have the time to deal with his feelings if he wants Adam back alive. The sex scenes were scorching.

I found this book well written with a unique plot. I enjoyed how the author incorporated romance, and mystery. The main characters and the secondary characters were fascinating. While the ending was a little predictable, the journey the book takes the reader is gripping with several unanticipated twists and turns. I had a hard time putting this book down. Overall, this was a very captivating book and I hope to see these characters again in the future.

I read this In one day because I just could not stop reading it! There was a love story, suspense and a life journey all in one amazing book!! I was happy to see Lee and Callum in this book as I fell in love with their characters before in Pure.
Joe had a battle going on inside of him that he didn't even know existed until his feelings for Adam couldn't be contained any longer. The jealousy Joe feels when Adam is auctioned off to another Dom are clues that he tries to bury deep inside of himself. When Adam goes missing and a serial killer is on the loose Joe finds himself in danger as well. Joe finally comes to terms with his feelings for Adam because he can't be without his boy. I loved this book and fell in love with two more of Victoria's characters. Love the happy ending as well!! Well written, beautiful story of love and honesty with ones self!

3.5 to 4
The second book in this series finds Joe finally quitting the police force and going to work with Callum at his security firm. Joe likes women, always has and always will but for some reason he can not get Adam, a young submissive from the club, out of his brain. Adam who is gay has longed for Joe for months. He wants the kind of relationship that his best friend has with Callum. Danger, lies and murder come crashing down on Joe and Adam, with the help from old and new friends they discover who is out to destroy their lives. Joe finally opens his eyes and heart to what he has in his life, not caring if Adam is someone he never thought he would be sharing his bed with.

I really enjoyed this! I loved that it built off the first book in the series, and then introduced a whole new aspect with the mystery and plot revolving around the missing subs (and set things up nicely for the third book, too). I loved Adam right from the start, and I grew to like Joe, I thought they had great chemistry together.

This was a great story with solid writing, and I'm starting the third one right now!

Story concerning a Dom who insists he isn't gay, until he meets Adam.

4 solid stars

Joe, a retiring policeman and Dom who insists he is not gay or bisexual, has suffered through 2 failed marriages. That is, until he meets Adam. Gradually, Joe discovers he is developing feelings of protectivness and possibly beginning to care for the sub.

The usual feelings of mistrust, uncertainty and misunderstandings are woven into the plot, raising issues between Joe and Adam. Character development is quite good, particularly for the MCs and a few of the minor characters.

The real trouble begins when young men like Adam begin to go missing, disappearing into thin air. The FBI and local police visit to gather any information Joe and Adam may be able to contribute. After this visit, Joe insists Adam move in with him so he can protect him fully.

Behind the scenes, Adam keeps hidden the fact that he has been receiving letters of a threatening nature. Once he finally tells Joe about the letters, Joe passes the information onto the FBI, who begin to notice a pattern between Adam and the other missing subs.

In a harrowing conclusion, the kidnapper/killer reveals himself by abducting Adam. Joe finally pieces the puzzle together and frantically searches for Adam, knowing his abductor is a violent and very sadistic man.

The tale ends with a magnificent plot twist that comes out of nowhere and earns Joe Adam's full and total trust and submission. Several minor characters have their lives altered forever.

Overall, this story is an unusual combination involving relationships, trust, revenge, Dom/sub acts and just the perfect amount of humor and self-reflection.

There were, unfortunately, loads of editing errors. But the plot was strong enough to overcome these mistakes and keep this reader's interest with minimal flow disruption.

A good m/m book for readers who like a little bit of almost everything.

I enjoyed this second story in the Pure series, though I didn't remember a darn thing about book one. I know some of the characters overlap but I guess it's not necessary to read book one, especially if you're clueless like me. :p

That being said, this is a nice story of a Dom, Joe, who's recently left the force to become part owner and head of security for Pure, a gay nightclub in the Orlando area. Joe is straight, and he states that on multiple occasions, and of course, he falls for a male sub, Adam.

There's a serial killer on the loose and Adam is a target so that complicates the growing affection between the men and it's overall quite a nice story. I'm not a fan of the repeated "I'm straight" comments, but the characters were good and the story interesting so I definitely recommend it to those who enjoy sexual discovery, age gap, and BDSM.

I have had the Pure books on my TBR list since 2016; that’s the year I began following Victoria Sue. I quickly became a fan but she already had a decent backlist so I just never made time to read the books in this series. Because I read all three books one right after the other it’s difficult to separate my feelings so I’m going to review all of them here and copy the reviews to the other two books.

These books are best read in order but Pure can be read as a standalone; however, you need to read book two before you read book three.

Pure 5 Stars
Callum is a successful businessman and he’s recently bought a BDSM club and renamed it Pure. He’s going to make it into the type of club he’s always wanted where play can happen but no one gets hurt without consent. Lee is a Sub who is in trouble when an irresponsible Dom doesn’t follow the rules of the new club. This story just about broke my heart. Lee had to suffer again at the hands of a monster before Callum finally woke up and admitted what he wanted.

A mystery is begun in this story that won’t be solved until the next book but I wouldn’t exactly call it a cliffhanger because the romance between Callum and Lee is solid and they get an HEA.

Pure Indulgence 5 Stars
Gay-for-you is a term that is no longer used but this book was written before that trope became bi-awakening. Joe is Callum’s best friend, an ex-detective and a Dom. What he isn’t is gay. Be that as it may, he’s captivated by Adam, a sub who works at Pure, and can’t seem to get him out of his mind.

Oh boy did this book have my emotions all over the place. Adam is Lee’s friend (from Pure). When Adam is bought in a charity auction where he agrees to spend an entire weekend with the Dom who won him, Joe realizes he’s made a huge mistake in not bidding on him.

The mystery that began in Pure is solved but not before Victoria Sue dangles so many different possible baddies there was no way I could have guessed who the real one was.

Pure Innocence 5 Stars
You really need to read Pure Indulgence before you read this one. Because I’m writing all three reviews here together, I’m going to try very hard and not give any spoilers for the previous books. I’ll just say that events that happened in book two brought Damon and Oliver together. Oliver suffered unimaginable things and Damon is now watching over him. He wants Oliver to be his boy but he’s not sure that can ever happen.

Another story that broke my heart and eventually put it back together again but boy was it touch and go for a bit. Victoria Sue loves to put her MCs through he11 but she never fails to give them a wonderful HEA and that was absolutely true of this story.

In conclusion: while this series was one of Victoria Sue’s first published ones it contained all of the things that I’ve come to expect from her writing and I’m very happy that I finally made time to read these books.

I hadn't realised this book was part of a series until after I'd read it, and I think it would be better for the reader to start with book 1 and then read this one. It does stand on its own, but I got a bit confused at the beginning when we were introduced to lots of characters at once. I assume some of them were in Book 1 so that the reader was supposed to know who they were right off the bat.

Pure is a BDSM club in Orlando, Florida and Joe is one of the club's owners. He's always been a Dom, but in the scenes he's played out, he's always been with women. He has never considered himself gay but he can no longer deny the attraction he feels towards Adam, one of the submissives at the club. His two ex-wives can testify to the fact that he isn't gay.

When the submissives hold an auction to raise money for a charity, Joe is really jealous when Adam is bought by another Dom for the evening. He fights his attraction tooth and nail, after all, he isn't gay! But eventually he musters up the courage to ask Adam to play a scene with him.

Adam is wary at first, he had no idea Joe was bisexual and he is afraid that Joe is really just experimenting with him and doesn't want anything more long term. For Adam has been in love with Joe for a while, but if all they'll ever have is sex, he wants to take that chance.

But someone is stalking and murdering submissives in Florida. Submissives who look remarkably like Adam. And when Adam disappears, Joe has to re-evaluate his feelings.

This book had a good balance of mystery and romance and the sex scenes were scorching hot. And the reason they were scorching hot was not because it was kinky or what have you, it was because of the emotional connection the characters shared. You cared about them and that draws you into a love scene more than anything else. I have to applaud the author for a book about BDSM where consent is an important part. So many I've read seem to use the term BDSM, when in reality the scenes that were played out were abusive. That is not the case here, thank goodness.

The characters discuss the 'gay for you' trope in the book, with Adam insisting that there's no such thing. But Joe does seem to be only attracted to Adam, not men in general, so perhaps there is a little bit of the trope here after all.

There is a bit of angst, a bit of humour and lots of romance. I adore a good hurt/comfort story, and at its heart, this is what Pure Indulgence is. Adam has had such a rough life up to now, and with the stalker, he knows it isn't over yet. But Joe doesn't run, he becomes the best Dom he can and looks after Adam as well as punishing him.

All the characters were well drawn but my favourite character has to be Adam. He was so damaged, but also so resilient too and you just couldn't help but root for him.

If you like a bit of a mystery plot with your romance, you can't go far wrong with Pure Indulgence.

4 Heart Review by Kimberley

This is the continuation of Pure and gives us Joe and Adam’s story. This is a pretty good follow up to the first book. A book with a GFY storyline and twinks are two of my least favorite things but I decided to give it a shot after reading the blurb. I must say that this book was a pleasant surprise. There was a smooth progression from one book to the next and after reading the first story, I was really interested in Joe’s character but figured he wouldn’t get one because he was straight. The storyline was pretty good, the characters were well written and the dialogue was quite nice with a few glitches. There were a few British-isms that made its way into the story and slight editing errors but I actually like the British-isms so I didn’t mind the British grammar at all. There were very few editing errors so it didn’t distract or detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I really liked the book and the characters but I kept thinking that Callum really needed to tighten up the security and screening process of the club. There were too many shenanigans going on that constantly put the club’s submissives in harm’s way. I also really liked how the author mixed it up by having a mixture of straight and gay, male and female Dommes/Doms and submissive members of the club. I am interested in reading about what happens with Damon’s character. I honestly didn’t think I would become as interested in the characters as I did. I liked them and would really like to see more of them.

Four and a half stars!
If you haven’t read the first book in this series you should. However you don’t need to in order to enjoy this book. I truly enjoyed this story and didn’t expect who the bad guy wound up being. I had a few other guesses and boy was I wrong! I liked Adam and Joe dancing around each other, though I would have liked Joe to get his head out of his ass sooner. Adam broke my heart with his past. It was nice seeing into his a bit more so we can understand him and his actions better. The part where Adam is hurt shouldn’t have happened. Joe and Callum should have explained the situation long before Adam got hurt, there was even ample opportunity for it. Though I understand why it happened the way it did. It kind of had to. I hope there’s going to be more books in this series because I really like it. I’m curious about some of the other characters and their stories.

Great sequel!

Loved this second addition to the series. Joe, a Dom believing himself to be straight, is attracted to submissive Adam. Through a series of misunderstandings, a serial killer and a Dom who sucks at communication, they find their way to each other. Love the series so far, I am hoping Derek gets his own story and maybe Damon too?

First of all loved Pure but this story had me in tears and sitting on the edge of my reading chair. Callum and Lee’s story was wonderful, but Joe and Adam’s story was superb. All the insecurities and misunderstandings, hurt feelings and with Joe the questioning of himself; I couldn’t put the story down.

A thriller romance with lots of moments too angsty to not feel deeply for the characters!

You may want to have a couple tissues close at hand! Our characters get pretty emotional!

It’s steamy and edgy in all the right ways!

Loved it!

Another sweet story

These are not BDSM books at all. They're just love story/mysteries and the mystery is not really the focus. It was more involved in this story and I didn't guess who it was at all. That was a good thing, since so often, authors make it too easy. That got the extra star. The rest of the story was a little off for me. Joe had been denying his feelings for Adam for a long time. So it seemed like a pretty abrupt change of heart for Joe. He still didn't want to label himself, which is okay, I guess, but it left Adam unsure. Joe also seemed to adapt pretty quickly, although there was very little sexual content in this story. So, not entirely believable. The ending seemed rather rushed as well. There were also editing issues, for me, with some awkwardly constructed sentences. Still pretty good.

I enjoyed this one much more than its predecessor. Where I felt Pure was rushed through and things over looked, Pure Indulgence smooth and things were hit on the mark. This time we're focused on Joe and Adam. The hurt/comfort was beautiful and to be honest there were a few time (A lot actually) where i wanted to smack Joe for his stupidity. All in all, I highly recommend Pure Indulgence.

Just weird

I've read a lot of BDSM books and this one was WAY off. Plus if they're supposed to be in Florida, why is the dialogue sound like they're British? And then TONS of errors, like this one "“I’ll leave you two to it." So seriously needs a proofread. All around not very good.
