Fallen Angel is about a Guardian Angel who falls in love with the person he's been assigned to protect. He feels desires that are forbidden to his Angel being... things change... and the opportunity for this story to become one delicious ball of hotness evolves. It's a short and sexy PNR story where a combination of forbidden and unrequited love takes centre stage.

Paranormal is not my usual read but whatever the genre, I have to believe in the happenings, believe the way the characters get from point A to point B. I like to experience the imaginary world without it raising questions of plausibility in my mind and I think my main stumbling block was that I didn’t always feel this way within the pages of this story.

The premise of the story arc is engaging. The depiction of the history between the hero and heroine is quite beautiful and I enjoyed the slant the author places on their relationship as the story progresses. The heroine is a little contradictory in her beliefs whereas the hero drew me into his emotions simply by sharing his feelings about watching over Jessie which, for me, made him the stand out character of the story.

The erotic aspect and sweet love shown within this story is highly lovely and makes for a nice bite sized read. I’d recommend Angel Fallen to Paranormal lovers and fans of erotic love stories who would like the pleasure of a short and sexy read.

This was good steamy quick read. I really enjoyed the fallen angel aspect of this story, something I have liked from other books in the past. I really liked Garon and the lengths he went to protect Jessie, the woman he loves. One thing I wasn't too fond of was that their story had begun before this book started. So there was no real build up in the relationship, something I would have wanted to see. Because of that, I couldn't completely feel a connection between them on an emotional level. However, there was a great sexual chemistry between the characters. The steam in this book was crazy hot, as an erotica book should be. I very much liked how those scenes were written. I thought it was very interesting reading how Garon tried to adjust to human life.

Overall, I thought it was a good debut erotic novel. I may have needed more story to it, but the steam was definitely high.

3 ANGEL STARS

This debut paranormal novella was a fast, entertaining and steamy read. It’s the tale of Garon, a Guardian Angel, who learns his charge, Jessica (Jessie) is destined to die, which forces him to face his forbidden emotions for this mortal.

 photo Angel fallen_zps38iiemjh.jpg

He’s been with Jessie since her birth and deeply loves her, in a way that immortal angels should not. He also feels things for her that he knows as a celestial being he shouldn’t. When he learns of Jessie’s fate, he's tormented and does the unthinkable. He gives up his wings for the love of this woman.

The naivety and innocence of Garon was done really well. Now a mortal, he's a beautiful grown man but the way he acts and the simplicity of his words show the truth. He's like a fish out of water and his guiding light is Jessie. To save her and to love and protect her.

 photo AF_zpspdbtosbp.jpg

Jessica has always had the ability to see Garon who she named George and thought he was her imaginary friend. She depended on him and leaned on him when she needed someone the most.

"He was her one true love. The literal man of her dreams. Her soul mate."

The interesting switch in this relationship was that Jessica was the dominant one. She's strong in spirit and while I liked this about her, she was sometimes too brash and a little hard to take. I understood that she had a hard and lonely childhood and it explained why she was tough and spunky but, I found her struggle to believe Garon, at times, only on the surface and cruel. I may have warmed more to her had there been a balance, a little more vulnerability, if only in her mind as she grappled with who Garon really was.

One thing I'll say, Ms. Leighton has erotic, off-the-chart steamy sex scenes nailed. This woman can write erotic, sensual, sizzling chemistry that had my Kindle burning up! Garon and Jessie are HOT together!

And while Garon may have taken Jessie's lead, he was a faster learner! And the chemistry between the two was electric and also sweet.

Ms. Leighton ended this with a sweet epilogue to this short tale. This was a good read and I think this author shows great promise. I look forward to more from Ms. Leighton.

I burned myself out on Paranormal Romance after the Twilight craze sucked me into the genre. I rarely pick it up any more, but I'm glad I snatched this one up. I'm a huge fan of Fallen Angel stories, and especially when the angel...in this case, Garon...chooses the woman he loves over immortality.

An interesting twist to this particular angel/human romance is that Garon is Jessica's guardian angel, and has been all her life. He knows her every secret, and he's loved her since she was a newborn. He's watched her go through the childhood tragedy of losing her parents, through her tumultuous teenage years and foster care, and up into adulthood. He's always felt a special bond with his human, but it isn't until he realizes that her fate has taken a turn for the worse that he understands how unusual that bond is. Angels don't fall in love with their humans. It's not allowed. But when Garon finds out that Jessica's life is meant to be cut short, his angel eyes are opened and he knows just how far he'll fall to keep her in his life.

A lot has happened in Jessica's short life. So much sadness...but she's always been able to rely on George, her imaginary friend who comforts her and understands her. As a child, he was her constant companion. As she's gotten older, she's intentionally paid less and less attention to him. After all, only crazy people keep their imaginary friends past childhood, right? So who's this man who shows up out of the blue to rescue her...the one who looks so familiar? And why does she feel so drawn to him?

This plot took a couple of tropes and put an interesting twist on them...first, the fallen angel/guardian angel thing. So unique, and it leads to the second (and often widely scorned) trope...insta love. But it's NOT insta love because these two have known each other their whole lives. What the gist of the story is about is convincing Jessica of Garon's authenticity. She struggles with her analytical mind vs. her romantic heart.

At the center of the story is the sizzling attraction between Garon and Jessica. Garon has no real understanding of lust until he falls. Until now, it's only been jealousy and interest in the going's on in Jessica's love life. But now that there is a flesh and blood body to sate, it's game on!

"With a clenched jaw and a fierce expression, he'd become an animal of carnality. A fallen angel indulging in earthly pleasures previously forbidden him."

And Leighton sure does know how to light up the pages. This is erotic romance...not the light and fluffy kind of loving. Garon's self discovery leads to a lot of passion, and it seems like years of pent up lusts. What it didn't lead to is aggression. This is not an alpha male, ladies! This is a man who is confused and way out of his element. I dont' necessarily think that Garon is normally so passive, but it's the situation that makes him so. Fortunately, Jessica has no problem giving directions or orders.

Here is my issue with the book, and what kept it at four stars. Jessica was too abrasive for my taste. I can usually relate to any type of heroine...the scared and abused, timid heroine, the bold and brash and mouthy heroine, and everywhere in between. But when a woman is ott vulgar or hateful, it turns me away. And Jessica edged toward too much for me.

However having said that, she could have been that way because that's what Garon needed.

This debut by Jennifer Leighton speaks of great things to come from this author. This is a stand alone, so no series to slog through, but I know she's got some historical romance in the works. If this was our first taste, I'd say we're in for a treat!

Angel Fallen was a book out of my norm. It's about a guardian angel, George/Garon, who has watched over a girl, Jessica, for her entire life. He has been there for her Always, so much that she thought He was real. But as she grew older, she knew that He couldn't be really real and she didn't rely on her guardian angel like she did before. But what if George knew something that could change Jessica forever, what would he do to protect her? Would he risk his own powers to protect the one person that he has always felt Real feeling for?

I had mixed feeling about this book. I loved the premise of a guardian angel but I just didn't feel the connection between George and Jessica. There were some parts that didn't transitions well for me in the story. I will say that the story is very erotic and I really liked the ending and the epilogue. It really helped me pull the story together. As this is not really the genre that I read, I feel like it was more me than the book. So all you paranormal readers out there, if you like sexy and short, I think you will love.

"Her knight in shining armor had arrived after all. She'd never dreamed her prince charming would turn out to be a fallen angel, but life was full of surprises."

Jessica, has long since given up on finding her happily ever after... no man could possibly live up to her, George.

Garon, was created to love and protect, Jessie. When he is faced with the possibility of losing her forever, he does the unthinkable.

Angel Fallen, is a beautiful story full of love and sacrifice. It was cute watching, Garon learn to navigate the world as a human. His devotion for Jessie is unparalleled. It was so sweet and with erotic love scenes that leave you feeling the steam coming off the pages. This debut novel is a well written and enjoyable read! I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

3 Daisies & Buttercups Stars

To preface my review I don't normally read paranormal books but when presented the opportunity to read Jennifer Leighton of The Freak Circle Press, I was more than happy to oblige. Angel Fallen showcases the great talent this author has in writing. The story is on the short side yet packs a lot of punch thanks to the excellent writing.

The two main characters, Garon and Jessica, are destined to be together since Jessica was born and Garon's existence came to be for her protection. The story, presented when Jessica is twenty four, ebbs between Jessica's memory of a childhood imaginary friend named George and Garon's memory of Jessica growing up. It was interesting the dichotomy of feelings of between the two characters with their histories of one another and it provides a pretty solid build up to the present day when they're forced together.

The plot of the book entertained me but I never felt a solid connection to the story or the characters. Jessica, more dominant than Garon because of their unusual circumstances, wavered on the true nature of Garon's existence more often than not yet in the same breath wanted him so badly. And the wanting? Let me tell you, the want and need in the throes of passion was quite potent. Jennifer Leighton wrote some heavily steamy sex scenes in Angel Fallen which provided, for me, the biggest connection to her characters. It was when feelings and an understanding of Garon was being established I got lost in the shuffle at times.

As a stand alone, erotic, paranormal read Angel Fallen was an entertaining read. The last few chapters were the most solid for me and I'm so glad this author chose to give an epilogue as it wrapped up the story nicely. I'm thankful to have been introduced to Ms. Leighton's writing and look forward to reading her next book as we get a sneak peek of it at the end of Angel Fallen.

This was just the quick, hot read that i needed!
Always a sucker for the Angel/Fallen Angel storyline, I was excited to read this take on the classic theme.

 photo bbtsheldonsquee_zpse4fea553.gif

I really loved how devoted Goran/George is to Jessie. She is literally his entire world, and when he discovers that she is about to die, he sacrifices himself in order to save her. In the process, he becomes "human" and is given the chance to be with his Jessie for real.

This might sound like a sweet little fairy tale, and while it has some sweet, romantic aspects to the story....this is definitely first and foremost an erotic tale. And the author does a good job of bringing the heat. The chemistry is great and i could feel the attraction between these two. To be honest, i have never been a fan of the whole insta-love thing, and I would have preferred a bit more of a buildup in their relationship before the mind blowing sex starts filling the pages...but, i do appreciate how much of George & Jessie's story we get in a short novel.

Considering this is a debut novel, I am very impressed by the author's writing ability. It definitely doesn't read like a debut...everything flows together very well, and she paints a very vivid picture with her words....be it with Goran's struggle to make the leap from Angel to human, or with the sex scenes that, did i mention?... are H O T. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in Jennifer Leighton's career.

If guardian angels were real, I’d most definitely want mine to be Garon. Sweet, submissive and yet totally masculine, this angel is the devil in bed. and in a storage room closet. YUM.

Garon has been Jennifer’s guardian angel for her entire life. They were both created on the same day, and thus – he was made for her. However, when he finds out that she’s supposed to die and he’s going to be assigned to someone else he can’t live with that outcome. He makes the choice to become visible to Jennifer & cut ties to all he knows.

I wasn’t totally invested in this story, even though I really tried to be. There’s an extremely long mostly sex scene that takes up most of the book – NOT THAT I’M COMPLAINING – but then after that scene, there wasn’t too much else to the story. I felt that things were wrapped up a bit too quickly and a bit too easily and I had a lot of questions. For example, if Garon was made for Jennifer and created on the same day, aren’t all guardian angels made for their charges? How would it make sense for Garon to be assigned to someone new?

Also, I know I’m being overly practical here and this is a paranormal romance, but Garon has no ID…no social security number…no real skills. What is he going to do for work now that he’s fallen? Am I being too real here? Maybe, but I didn’t feel that this story was so fantastical that I shouldn’t be thinking about those things.

Notwithstanding those issues, the heat is most definitely on point. Jennifer writes those scenes with style and I absolutely enjoyed the slight switch of such a strong and burly man being submissive. The awesome sex and the fun and flirty writing style pushed those stars up for me. Sweet and incredibly romantic, this PNR is a quick little read full of lots of awesome sex. 3.5 stars!

A guardian angel name Garon watched a little girl name Jessie. That was his assignment till he was told that he has a new assignment. He realized that Helios Jessie was going to die at the age of 24. So what path did he take? Did he save her or let fate take over? I love this story. Read it.

I loved it!! Garon was a total sweetheart- who can't resist a delicious combo of an alpha in bed and a fumbling clueless beta outside it. I know some of my fellow readers found the heroine abrasive and forceful- she was, a little bit. But she added some much needed spice and wacko-ness to a fairly predictable story, so I can't rate the book down for it.

Review to come...

**FULL Review—Angel Fallen by Jennifer Leighton**

“That night changed them both, for the last little bit of her girlhood vanished, in her eyes as well as his. Sweet Jessie because grown up Jessica, and Garon became not a guardian protecting his charge, but a man caring for his woman.”

Jessica grew up in a world where she felt she was a discard…having lost her mother at just five years old, she spent the rest of her childhood in foster care. The only constant was ‘George’, her ‘imaginary friend’…but little did she know, he’d been with her since she came into the world. He was created just for her, to protect her—Garon ‘George’ was more than just an imaginary friend…he was her guardian angel.

As Jessica grew up, she chose to ignore him—considering herself a bit crazy that she could see and talk to this being no one else believed to exist…but it was so much more than that for him.

Herein lies the problem.

“He was not a man, though, but a celestial being, and these desires he felt for Jessie were unnatural. Anything unnatural was strictly prohibited in the spirit world. He was to look but not touch. Care but not love. Exist but not live.”

Not easy to do when you find out the fate of your charge…and you have all of these forbidden feelings.

So, Garon does the unthinkable…he rebels.

He falls.

This is one of those stories where you can’t help but get goosebumps when reading it. I can recount quite a few times. Everyone wants someone to watch over them, love them, protect and be everything to and for them.
This was a story ultimately about that…with quite a bit of steam. It was well-written and seemed to flow well. I felt it strange the location, but understood at the same time. Leighton has great potential and look forward to reading more from this author.

Hot and steamy…

If there is an alpha male involved, I’m usually at the front of the queue. Though I wasn’t drawn to the cover, the blurb intrigued me enough to give it a go – and I’m so glad I did. With a paranormal bent, this story showcases Garon, a truly unique hero, who is sexy and attractive with a sensitive submissive side that totally works.

Garon, aka George, is a guardian angel who’s been looking after Jessica since the day she was born. Faced with the knowledge that she will die without his intervention he gives up everything he is for the woman he has loved his entire life. With such an incredible story, needless to say Jessie is not as quick to accept Garon. That conflict has to be dealt with quickly and is done through conversations amidst hot and heavy scenes between the two.

“As for the games…as I’ve shared, I don’t mind them,” he confessed shyly, his face heating at the admission. “I enjoy it when you tell me what to do.”

I have no idea how this incredibly strong, protective man can be as sensitive as this and be as hot and sexy at the same time. Believe me though, George pulls it off incredibly well – I am turning on the room fan in testament to that! He is alternatively innocent and gentle while the next moment scorching up the sheets to a hundred plus degrees. Not many books see the heroine the more experienced of the two though George makes up for it in enthusiasm. It sounds like a combination that shouldn’t work but oh, it definitely does!

While I liked Jessie, George is definitely my favourite of this couple and truly made the book for me. A satisfying ending but definitely would have loved this story to be longer. ~ Diane, 4 stars

I loved this virgin hero so much. I thought his innocent but sweet devotion was amazing. This was a debut for this author and I see really good things for her.
The love scenes were scorching. I do wish there had been less mention of the heroines past during certain scenes. It took away from what was going on. Her dominant attitude wasn't my cuppa either. I like more aggressive heroes. But he was so adorable. I also wish that the heroine hadn't acted like she did the morning after. Thankful she didn't take long to realize her error. I'd have liked to have had more information about the "falling" and what was going to happen to Garon. Usually paranormal romance has more world building and there's a foundation for how that fantasy world is there. I will definitely read more in the future from this author. I hope she adds more history and characters to her next story.

Safety info:
Hero was virgin since he was an angel.
But he had to see her numerous lovers over the years. Heroine was pretty active too. She knew he was there watching but thought she was going crazy. I didn't like that she knew and still did those things and thought of the hero.
I wouldn't call this a totally safe book.. But once he falls and they meet neither are with others. They do talk about her past and some of those times bothered me.
If you read this do it for the hero.

2.5 Stars The alternate story to the City of ANgels Movie (of course I bawled my eyes out when the movie ended)

I recommend it for a good escape! Well Done Jennifer. Mostly I liked the idea behind the story, sex scenes and the fantasy created.

Basically, Garon is Jessie's guardian angel and has been looking after her whole life. She is also an orphan. Garon is given told he wil be receive someone new to look after and he realizes Jessie is going to die and he plans makes up his mind to save her.

And he takes the fall. This book is heavily based on the movie City of Angels. (and the city of Angels is a remake on a German movie, Wings of Desire.)

3 stars for trying to write something different and working on it and for good writing but the structure and execution of the novel didnt work for me.

The story was short and there could have been a lot more happening in it and a lot better but I still enjoyed the love between the Hero and Heroine and sex scenes

This would have been 3.5 stars if the first part of closet scene of Jessie behaving like a lunatic had been omitted or done differently. This story had a very old school romance twang to it. . Why would Garon save her life if he wanted to do all the things she accused him of ? I know the author was trying to create angst and make us feel sorry for the hero but it could have been done better. Because she goes from arguing and hitting him to having sex with him just like that.

The connection between the the hero and heroine since birth worked well. Garon knows everything there is to know about her. He has been with her through it all and every second of her life. He has been unconditional with Jessie. Jessie has always felt the special bond with Garon and Garon also struggles and tries to understand his feelings for her. Jessie has lost her mother at a tender age, had a childhood going through foster homes . The love Garon has for Jessie shines through his untiring ways he has protected her and gave her sense of belonging and love in her lonely world.

Jessie could clearly see Garon and talk and play with him when she wsas young but as she grew older he got less and less invisible until he completely disappeared.

Sex scenes were hot!

I wish it could have been fleshed out better like the Robin Kaye's Novella, Hearts in Darkness which is one of the best romance novellas I have ever read. InstaLove worked so well in Hearts in Darkness.

But with the premise of knowing each other throughout the lives could have also been done better. The struggle between Jessie's analytic, common sense mind, self or safety preservation instincts and her romantic sexual feelings for Garon ,in my opinion, was not done well.

Of course the fantasy of unconditional love is something we all want to read about and feel good about.

The sleeping together for the first time in the closet with so many rounds of sex and then suddenly the book skips to the hero and heroine having 2 kids and celebrating birthdays put me off and the jump was quite jarring.

But the whole idea was rather good and of course I thought of the movie City of ANgels and I feel like watching the move again. Although the premise for the story was good and the effort and love was clearly seen in the author's work, I felt it could have been a great full length novel filled with other elements to it!

The prose was good and the sex scenes were sensual but as a novella i think it didnt work. But I will be looking out for more books from the author!

Confession: I’m not a huge fan of Angel books. I’ve read a few in the past and they’ve had a tendency to become preachy. I’m happy to say that this was not one of those books.

The premise was beyond interesting, Garon is a guardian angel, created especially for Jessica. When he finds out she’s going to die, he decides to do something to save her and in the process, becomes a fallen angel.

The story is quite good. I loved how much Garon loved Jessica. I also loved all the “George” moments that were mentioned. Seeing those little moments of Jessie’s “imaginary friend” throughout her life really added some depth and emotion to the story.

I found it a little disconcerting that even after Jessica accepted that Garon was George, she kept calling him George. But after they had a conversation about names and he said he preferred George, I was fine.

I do love that the author didn’t draw out Garon/George telling Jessie who he was. Obviously it took a little convincing but I’m glad it didn’t take forever for him to tell her. However, after she accepted it and things heated up between them, it irritated me that Jessica then ran from him calling him a stalker and again believing his story to be fiction. If she had done that initially before believing him, that’s one thing. But for me, once she believed him I wish she had not doubted him, especially after he told her things no one else knew.

Overall, I found this to be a great debut novel from Jennifer Leighton, and I have to mention the steamy scenes…they were indeed steamy! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. :)

I must admit, I don't usually go for the "Angel" theme in books. I've read very few over the years, so when this one was offered to me to read for a review, at first I was a little skeptical. I'm not entirely sure why that particular theme has never interested me, but it hasn't. However, the blurb for Angel Fallen drew me in right away. I had to read it. And, for the most part, it was really good. I had a few issues, but overall, it was an interesting story that drew me in from the first page. It's a story about a guardian angel who, against all rules and laws of his kind, falls in love with his charge. He has to make the difficult decision to let her her die, or fall from grace. I thought that sounded right up my alley. I enjoyed the story line and how 'George' had to make Jess realize he was her guardian angle and not just a figment of her imagination. I loved George. I thought he was a great character. My issue with this book was mostly Jess. I get that her taking some time to finally believe him was bound to happen, otherwise it wouldn't seem real, but I hated that after he finally convinced her, the next day she did a complete 180 and doubted again. Granted, it didn't take too long for her to realize the truth, it still bothered me the way it went down. My other issue, and it wasn't that big just not something I'd encountered before, was how submissive George was. I also get that he loved her and was devoted to her, but I wasn't prepared for his total submission to her in the sexy way. It threw me and I never quite recovered from that. I did love the ending and how they had a happy one. I think this author definitely has talent and I can see myself reading more from her in the future.

~Ms. Me28~

Angel Fallen, an interesting and hot read. The story of this book is about a woman and her guardian angel. Garron, a guardian angel who fell in love with the woman who he watched and guard when she's born. He's not supposed to interfere on her life but when things get out of hand and he was assigned to watch a new person. Jessica, Garron's guard, is an independent woman who doesn't believe in Prince Charming. Nobody measured up to his ideal man, George. An unexpected thing happened to her and she was rescued by a mysterious blond-haired, blue-eyed, and drop dead gorgeous man. Things get more interesting and hot as the story goes. The mysterious man will reveal things to her that she can't believe to be true and all. He knew much about her, to a fact that it bordered to being stalker-ish and creepy. Ms. Jennifer did an amazing job in making her debut novel hot, interesting and full of surprises!

Gorge... -Sigh- alpha male but so much more. I loved the characters and the settings, the author used wonderful details to create a unique and captivating story, that I found hard to put down.
I won't give spoilers.
I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to all fans of paranormal steamy reads..

This was pretty boring, to be honest. It felt like a fanfic and I couldn't take it seriously. The plot caught my interest but when I actually started reading it, the entire thing was laughable. George was an innocent, complete pushover that was too virtuous and unexciting, Jessie was a demanding, bitchy, wannabe dom. They were both lame characters and the plot only seemed to bring that out even more. Jessie completely flipped on George about him being a creeper but in reality she was the only creep and weirdo in this book with how she immediately jumped on his d*ck as soon as she started believing him about being her angel. She treated him more like a sex slave to bend to her will rather than trying to get to know him or helping him adjust to being human. Instead of focusing on what she could do to help him ease into learning how to be human, she was more worried about getting pleasured and f*cked in every way possible. She was one of the most selfish, immature, bossy heroines I've ever read. I don't understand what George saw in her and what made him love her when she was not appealing in any way. He had his own issues with how he lived to serve and worship her but at least he was a decent person, weak and corny yes, but decent and worthy of love. I felt like he was taken advantage of by Jessie with how little he knew of how to be human, he was almost child-like and lost, add that in with a sexually charged woman who likes giving orders and it just feels creepy.

It's a shame considering I was really intrigued by this initially but this author really needs to work on fleshing out her characters and building up relationships between them, for us as readers to connect with them and naturally like them. These characters didn't cut it and could have been so much more if she'd taken her time with the story and gave us more to love about them than cringey sex scenes. Sorry I didn't like it, but this book needs major work, because as is, it's embarrassing and very juvenile.

Super hot, and an interesting premise

"Guardian angel falls to save his charge" is not a premise I'd even considered before, but I liked it. I also liked that he was innocent and submissive while she was more experienced and brash.
She was a little too brash for my tastes, but they worked well together.
The sex was super hot and well written, and there was lots of it (that's a good thing, IMO).

I love finding hidden gems. While getting sucked into a Goodreads rabbit hole, clicking through dozens of book suggestions, I came upon a book about a guardian angel. The premise looked interesting and I have to admit the headline lauding 2015 Sex Scene Runner-up caught my attention too.

Taking one of her hands, he placed it on his chest over his heart. “Do you feel that?” She nodded, the chocolate brown of her eyes warm and liquid. “That’s my heart beating. It beats for you, beloved. I am real.”

I really liked that approach the author took with the guardian angel, Garon, or George. Instead of being overly holy, he was actually quite pervy for a celestial being. He didn’t quite understand sex, but he was fascinated by the pleasure Jessie, the girl he’s guarding, gets from men. His conscious (wait, do angels have a conscious?) also struggled with the feelings he had for Jessie since an angel should be immune to human feelings like jealousy or lust.

“ . . . because in your satisfaction is where I’ll find my own.”

The author doesn’t spend a lot of time on George’s fall from grace or the repercussions of his decision to go against God, but surprisingly it didn’t bother me. George’s focus was on protecting and loving Jessie, and his feelings were so strong it propelled the plot forward. I was also surprised at Jessie and George’s dynamic. Jessie had a strong personality, even a bit domineering at times. Usually, heroines with dominant characteristics don’t interest me, but I loved the push and pull it caused in their relationship. At first, George just wants to please Jessie, which gave her a rush, but then his attraction takes over and she’s happy to let his new sexual urges guide them.

“Tell me this is real,” she pleaded against his neck. “Tell me I’m not going to wake up and find you gone from my life and living only in my imagination. Lie to me if you have to, but please, tell me it’s real.”

Angel Fallen is a fantastic novella and one of my favorite angel stories to date. I’m pretty bummed that this is the author’s debut novel since I was looking forward to binge reading everything she’s written. Although, wow, what a great start to her career! I can’t wait to read everything the author has in store for us in the future.

What do you get when a guardian angel falls in love with his charge? An angel that falls...Angel Fallen is Jennifer Leighton's debut into the world of erotic romance. The characters are equally matched with an essence of passion and devotion. It was a delicately written plot with a daring way of looking at angels in our world and the purpose for their creation.

Garon and Jessica's story is one of forbidden love. One that almost seems one sided, because Garon is a guardian angel, and is unseen, hidden in the shadows. However, for reasons unknown, Jessica has been able to see him since she was a little girl. Jessica has always had a hard time with relationships and mainly because no one ever measured up to the beautiful guy that lived only in her imagination, or so she thought.

With things changing quickly, Garon makes a decision that he can't live without his Jessica. When they are separated, he desperately tries to find her. Jessica doesn't understand why she is drawn to this unknown man who saves her life, but she is irrevocably attached. Caught between the consequences of their actions and lust, the two come together in an unexpected way that will leave the reader wanting more.

I was immediately drawn into the plot and enjoyed this beautifully scripted piece. There were a few moments that I wanted more information and I wanted to understand the story more, but I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome. This was a great first book, Jennifer. I look forward to reading what you create next!

First paragraph: Garon let his eyes move over Jessica as she undressed, brushed her teeth and removed that strange face paint human females were so fond of. If only he could tell her she didn’t need such adornment.

3 1/2 stars rounded up to 4

The debut novel of indie author Leighton, "Angel Fallen" holds its own as well-written erotica, focusing on the internal motivations of the two main characters to the exclusion of much else. In fact, the majority of the book takes places over one, event-searing day in the hospital.

Ganon is Jessie's guardian angel, and when he finds out that Jessie is going to die and he'll be reassigned to another human, he decides to take matters into his own hands, rejects his immortality and becomes human to save Jessie. For Jessie, 'George' is her childhood imaginary friend who becomes the embodiment of the perfect male against which she compared all of her boyfriends. She always felt like someone was out protecting her, watching her even, but when she matured into adulthood, she shook it off as childhood fantasies.

So imagine the conversation they have in the hospital supply closet when the mysterious stranger who rescues her from the unknown gunmen tries to explain that he really is her guardian angel, made flesh after all these years.

Yup, awkward.

But, like most awkward events in a really good John Houston movie, oftentimes really hot sex ensues. And here, Leighton scorches the pages with her scenes. Many authors struggle writing sex. Leighton does not. She is, like her character Jessie, decisive in her style.

Recommended as a good read.

Ms Leighton's maiden novel pulled me in and I didn't want to put it down. If you don't enjoy erotica, this isn't the story for you. I think the reason I enjoyed it so much was because it wasn't just SEX, there is a sweet story at the core....but the SEX is HOT!!

When I first started reading, I pictured one of my favorite movies, "City of Angels" with Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage--then the first sex scene appeared, and it was NOTHING like the other story--it had a much happier ending...and a LOT of hot, steamy sex!

"Angel Fallen" is a sexy, erotic story of a young woman and her guardian angel. Jessie grows up believing she has an imaginary friend, named George. Little does she know that 'George' is really Garon, her own guardian angel, created on the day she was born. His sole purpose is to protect her. When he finds out he is supposed to get a 'new assignment', Garon makes the decision to Fall, which will end his immortality and make him flesh and blood. Jessie doesn't believe this perfect man can be her "George", and after an extremely erotic encounter (in a hospital supply closet), she's convinced it was all a dream. After discussing the encounter with her best friend, Stephanie, who is the only person Jessie has ever told about "George", Jessie searches her heart and realizes that Garon might actually be who he claims he is...the man she has always loved.

This was my first time reading anything by Jennifer Leighton and boy can she write an erotic scene!!

Garon is a guardian angel, who has watched over Jessica since she was born. Upon being told he would be getting a new charge, he decides that he will save Jessica's life, something guardian angels are not allowed to do. But what happens when he "falls"? Does he save her for himself or will she run?
I found this to be an ok short read. The scenes were almost as a Domme and her sub, but they were very sexy scenes. I prefer a more alpha male, but that's just my preference. If you're looking for a short sexy read, where the female lead knows just want she wants and isn't afraid to take it, then this is just the read for you.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review, I'm giving this book 2.5 stars. The synopsis was really good & sounded like it would be a good read but it fell short. I didn't feel connected to the characters or the story it honestly was all just sex. Don't get me wrong I definitely don't have anything against sex in a book. But when it happens so fast and you haven't connected to the characters and aren't already rooting for them to get together. I'm kind of just left like "well ok they're doing it" and I want to move on. I felt like there was potential to this story it could have gone so many ways. Hopefully as this author writes more books she'll find her stride and flesh out a book a little more.
