Fully Ignited
When Jamie Rutherford takes a temporary assignment as lieutenant of Boston Fire’s Engine 59, she doesn’t anticipate any problems. She’s been in the fire service for a long time and, even though she’s fairly new to Boston, she knows how to make any firehouse her home. Scott is looking for a wife. 4 Temporary Stars

Fully Ignited the 3rd book in the Boston Fire series was a wonderful read. I loved the book before this one Controlled Burn, but I loved this one more. This was a nice laid back read. No crazy over the top drama to tie my gut in knots. Just me relaxing and enjoying Scott and Jamie's love story.
Scott was yummy, hot tempered, and a bit of a reformed playboy. He use to date a lot but he wanted to have the real deal marriage, love, and a family. So he took a break from dating til he could find a woman worth while. Someone he could really see himself being with long term. I really liked Scott. I felt he was very realistic and I liked him having a little bit of a temper because sometimes heroes can be too perfect making them unrelatable. Of course he was a charming firefighter, so really he could pretty much do no wrong in my eyes.
Jamie was so awesome. She was this kick ass women in a almost all male field. She was this hard worker who proved herself ever bit as good as the men in her field. She was not only a firefighter she was a respected lieutenant. Jamie had a cute, playful disposition, but she took her work serious. Even though Jamie was a firefighter she was still very sexy and feminine just not high maintenance.
Jamie and Scott had a ton of heat and they didn't fight their passion. I loved that their relationship for the most part was honest, mature, and that they respected each other. I really loved the other guys at the fire station. They were all so cute and playful. There was a real brother like feel to their group. I really liked Scott's sisters too. After I read Controlled Burn, the book before this one I was kinda upset at the ending. I felt it didn't give me enough closure. So I was happy to get to catch up with that past couple Jessica and Rick and find out what was happening with them. I also enjoyed this ending much better. I felt it wrapped the story up so well, and gave me a sweet HEA. A great read I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice low drama read.

While Scott is normally known as the serial dater, he's reached a point in his life when he's ready to settle down and is not willing to pass time with random women while he's waiting. Jaime is his new temporary boss while his bother in law and lieutenant recovers from an injury. There's an obvious attraction that both try but fail to resist after an errant kiss in the family bar storage room. At first, they decide to ignore their feelings but as with any good romance, the feelings will out lol. The concern is their ability to work together without letting the relationship affect it. Jaime and Scott have to find a way to cope with their insecurities. The story is written very well. The chemistry between Jaime and Scott is great. They have hot sexy-times but what's even better is their rapport and ability to laugh and have a good time. Even in bed. I enjoyed the book very much though Scott did a few things in the end that seemed out of character and were essentially what made it go from 5 to 4 stars. As far as safety: no OW/OM or sharing. Protection used all the time. No rape/abuse.

When Jamie first walks through the door, he's stung but she can't risk her career by getting involved with another firefighter under her command. And, the rules for women are very different from the rest of the men.
I loved this story as it blended so many issues extremely well. Jamie is seven years older than Scott; is one of the few female firefighters in the country let alone Boston and is in a command position; needs to prove herself as a leader and hold her own as a firefighter; and, becomes romantically involved with someone under her leadership. As enlightened as Scott is about women being as capable as their male firefighting counterparts, he's challenged when he considers that it could be his wife in a risky career role. Gender equality issues were really well addressed without belaboring the topic.
I liked that these issues were realistically portrayed instead of taking a fictional approach to the story. Workplace romances are common, no matter how controversial, and their problems and concerns were real. I also really liked how much I learned about some of the routine aspects of a station's duties, how their shifts actually work and the many types of non-emergency calls they must respond to. These were nicely woven into the developing romance between Jamie and Scott.
I'm really enjoying this series and the balance between the roles of firefighters and their relationships. It's very well done and I loved everything about this story.

Fully Ignited is the third installment in Shannon Stacey's adult contemporary/fireman romance series titled: Boston Fire. I really enjoyed all the role reversal elements in this one: seeing a woman put on the fireman suit and brave the role typically fulfilled by men, watching the woman climb the chain of command, and even the man in the romance being the one eager to settle down while the woman's mind is elsewhere. Those pieces made this story quite original and enjoyable for me. The romance is a steady stream (of steam haha) with minimal drama which was a nice change of pace but it didn't quite keep me 100% hooked either. Overall though, I liked Fully Ignited and would recommend it to followers of this series. This collection is my first go at firefighter-themed romances, which I don't think I'm a fan of BTW, but since I will read anything Ms. Stacey writes I will forge on. As long as she's the one doing the writing, I can handle just about anything :)

As he said it, he dipped a finger under the waistband and she shuddered as his knuckle tickled her skin. But then she grasped his jaw with her fingers, tilting his face up until he met her gaze. “There’s no home run if you skip first base.”
He frowned. “I…don’t know what that means.”
“That’s what I get for trying to use a sports analogy because I’m not sure either. It’s supposed to mean you haven’t kissed me since that night in your bar’s storage room, and I like a little romance before a guy gets his hands down my pants.”
His hands left her waist and he looked at her so intently, she was afraid for a minute that she’d turned him off and he might change his mind. But then his hands cupped her face and he smiled before his mouth claimed hers.
It wasn’t a gentle kiss. It was hot and hungry, and she moaned as she buried her hands in his hair. His tongue dance over hers and she ran her heel up the back of his calf. When he nipped her bottom lip, she smiled against his mouth. His hands went underneath her sweatshirt again, but he didn’t touch her waistband. I absolutely loved this book!
Scott Kincaid is a sixth-generation Boston Fire fireman. He’s knows as a ladies man, but he’s tired of being single and seeing all his friends fall in love. So now he is looking for a wife, but falling for their newest temporary lieutenant is definitely not what he had planned.
Jamie Rutherford is a woman in a man’s world. As a firefighter she has to work extra hard to prove her worth, and she needs to make sure her reputation is spotless. So being attracted to her fellow firefighter, Scott Kincaid, is looking for trouble.
I just loved the romance between Scott and Jamie. It was intense and sexy and funny. Neither of them knew what to do with the crazy chemistry between them, both thinking that it would only bring problems. But luckily neither could deny how they felt, and soon they gave into their attraction, and it was wonderful watching these two fall in love.
I also loved Jamie and Scott as the MC. Jamie was tough, but also vulnerable. Being a firefighter isn’t always easy for women, but I loved how the guys treated Jamie. And I really loved Scott. He never came across as a ladies man, and he respected Jamie and her job as a firefighter.
A wonderful contemporary romance, and one that I will definitely read again.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. Based on the blurb and other reviews I was waiting for manwhore details about the H to bother me, but it never happened. Scott definitely had his share of girlfriends and probably ONS too, but he never came across as sleazy or too experienced and he never had manwhore thoughts. It was so refreshing and he was a sweet, loyal, and kind man. Jamie was a great heroine- a strong firefighter and confident woman. She had her fair share of men in her past too so they were pretty evenly matched. I loved that there was no OW drama! I liked the secondary characters and enjoyed the glimpse of life at the fire station! An all around enjoyable book!

Fully Ignited was hot, tender, a bit complicated and very sweet.
One of the things I loved the most in Fully Ignited was the innuendos made with food... And I got at least two great quotes for future Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts posts thanks to the sexiness of those. Both Jamie and Scott were great characters to follow in their adventures as firefighters, and it was refreshing to see a female LT, who was strong, confident and very competent. Neither of them wanted a romance at the workplace, though, but their attraction proved impossible for them to resist. However, Jamie's job with Scott's company was temporary, and so would their forbidden romance be.
I also really enjoyed that Fully Ignited included characters from prior Boston Fire stories, it was great to catch up with Scott's sisters, the other firefighters and their families. Between the fast pace of everything work-related, the slower pace and the evident chemistry between Jamie and Scott in their personal space made the story really good. There was excitement when they went out on a job, and there was combustible hotness when they were alone together.
Another thing that was well done was that Jamie was a woman in a very male-dominated work-place, and she had to play by certain rules in order to keep the respect of her fellow firefighters. Seeing her interactions with her team showed that she was very good at her job, however, and I enjoyed how she fit right in with the guys, even if there were some adjustments for them to make so that she could be as comfortable as possible when she was at work.
Written in third person point of view, past tense, Fully Ignited also included dialogues that showed the various characters' personality, and there was both humor and some sarcasm as well as very sexy innuendos that kept me immersed in the story from start to finish.
The hard punch of sexual attraction had taken him by surprise with its intensity, but it was more than that. She had an air of calm confidence that intrigued him - like she was a woman who really had her sit together - and that was something he must find attractive because he'd thought about her more than a few times in the last twenty-four hours.
It wasn't a home, though, and he wondered if that's what was nagging at him. Was it stuff that made a home? Or was it the wife and kids he didn't have? He was only twenty-seven, so he wasn't sure why he felt such a strong desire to finally settle down, but he couldn't deny it was there.
"I'd love to come up and share your chocolate pudding," Scott said. "I've worked up an appetite."

I don't know if this is fair, but I have high expectations for books that feature reformed playboys. Because of their doggish ways, I want them to fall hard, but I want them to struggle to get there and, if possible, I want them to have a good grovel. Unfortunately, although this was a nice contemporary, it did not meet my expectations.
Scott is a legacy firefighter. Having watched his best friend fall in love with his sister and one of his supervisors take the plunge, he is feeling the void in his life. He wants a wife, so much so that he has put a moratorium on dating. Then enters Jamie Rutherford, a fill in lieutenant for an ailing Danny. He's immediately attracted to her, but is also sensitive to her wishes to not get involved with someone she is supervising. But, of course, that doesn't last very long.
I think there could've been far more tension in this story. The relationship, the capitulation is far too easy. I think she gives in to the physical attraction way too easy, especially given everything that is at stake with her career. I can't help but think that it is much harder than it is portrayed for a female fire fighter, especially given the fact that fewer than 4% of firefighters are women. There is so much built in drama, and I think this is a missed opportunity.

This is not a horrible book, but I believe the weakest in the series so far.

Oops it's been a month and I still haven't written the review. I remember it very well and I know I enjoyed it very much but unfortunately RL has gotten in my way and the part of brain that suppose to work when you write a review is out of order!
I guess just saying I remember all the details and all the hot stuff from the book after a month is a great recommendation. Just know the book itself was as yummy and hot as the fire fighter on the cover ;)

Fully ignited is the third book in the Boston Fire series by Shannon Stacey. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two stories (each can be read as a standalone romance) and after meeting Scott Kincaid in the first book, the younger brother to the heroine (Lydia) and best friend of the hero (Aidan), I was highly anticipating his own story. From that book we know a few things about Scott – he’s got the reputation of a playboy, though he’s toned it down a lot as he’s seen his sisters and friends in committed relationships, a state he finds himself envying. He’s also got a bit of a temper, and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. And he’s a firefighter with a solid dependable reputation. It’s fair to say he’s looking for a woman who is in the same stage of life as he is – ready to settle down and start a family. He knows he’ll need someone who understands and can accept a firefighter’s lifestyle, which is no easy feat and requires a particular kind of woman, the kind who is happy to be a sometime single parent when he’s working his 24 hour shifts. The last thing he expects is to find that his brother-in- law Danny’s replacement as fire captain (due to a nearly fatal injury in book 2 of the series) is a woman. He has no hangups about that, nor do most of the guys on the crew (except for the older fellows who are still somewhat misogynistic with the ‘women can’t do the job as well as men’ attitude). What he doesn’t expect is to be so attracted to Jamie. She’s a few years older than him, a dedicated and hardworking firefighter, and fits in well with the crew. A workplace romance is definitely a no-go, particularly since she is in a position of authority, and the boundaries are pretty clear. But outside the ‘office’ – well, they find it a little hard to keep their hands off each other. She’s there on a temporary assignment – 6 weeks while Danny recovers, which puts a clear end date on any fling they might have. But when her time at Engine Company 59 is up, is it going to be so easy for them to say goodbye? And will Scott’s ideas of what kind of woman he wants to settle down with get in the way of what could be the best relationship he’s ever had?
I really enjoyed this story, and I have to say that it’s my favourite of the series (to date, because I’m hoping to see more of the men of this firehouse!). It’s really easy to get wrapped up in the family dynamics – the Kincaid’s each have their own personality quirks but at heart they are a loving family and it shows in their interactions with each other. Scott, as the younger brother (he’s 27, though it doesn’t stop his older sisters from reminding him where he fits in the family), values his sisters’ opinions (whether he agrees with them or not) and discovers that it’s not so easy to hide the attraction he feels towards Jamie from them, or his best friend Aidan. But he’s keeping mum about it, as he respects Jamie’s position at the firehouse and her desire to keep their relationship away from work. He just comes across as a really nice, friendly, dependable guy (definitely hero material!). He’s got lots of friends, a good job, and a supportive family. Jamie’s situation is a little more challenging. She’s away from home, and her best friend lives across the city, so she doesn’t have too many friends where she is. As a fire captain she’s had her share of issues being a female in a male dominated job, and she’s learned to deal with anything that arises quickly and efficiently. I really enjoyed seeing her interactions with the crew and how she was able to do her job and maintain their respect. And I liked that she didn’t outright reject having a short term affair with Scott (on the condition that it could not be allowed to interfere with their work). She’s comfortable with her sexuality and her desires and knows that there’s no reason that she can’t have a personal life to go with the professional one. Together, the two of them definitely have chemistry and there are some steamy love scenes that connect them both physically and emotionally. And therein lies the problem of course – the development of an emotional connection that goes beyond friendship into relationship territory. Only, neither of them wants to admit what’s really happening between them.
The conflict is two-fold. On the one hand, it’s their working relationship (boss and subordinate) that is at issue, with both of them knowing that there will be repercussions if the truth comes out. Fortunately, this isn’t dwelt on relentlessly – it’s just a fact that they are both aware of, and they do a really good job (at least until later in the story) of keeping their feelings from interfering with their professional relationship. So while on the surface the ‘forbidden’ workplace romance is a source of potential problems, it’s their long term goals that cause the more damaging conflict. Jamie is not the kind of wife that Scott is looking for. No matter how much he’d like to deny it, he knows that he already risks his life in his career every day – and he is not looking for a wife who risks her life equally. Having lost his mother at a young age, he wants a woman who will be there for their kids should something happen to him, and not vice versa. This kind of conflict is more serious, because at its heart it will require a change of thinking, and compromises that not everyone would be willing to commit to. I felt for Scott and for Jamie in this situation, where their careers just might be a wall that’s too big to climb over. When Jamie’s time at the fire hall is up and Danny is ready to return to work , they have to deal with the heart of that problem or it will ruin any chance they have of being together. Well, since this is a romance with a happy ever after ending, we know that all will end well as it should – but it’s the path to that end that makes this such a delightful and entertaining story. Sure, there’s some angst, but overall it’s not the kind that will leave you sobbing – more the ‘heavy sigh’ and then the big smile when it all gets worked out in the end. As expected, the scenes between the crew, the action of the calls they go on and the moments spent relaxing and getting ready for Aidan and Lydia’s wedding (yay!) are well written and combined with the sexy romance give you an overall story that really hit the mark for me. 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this story, and I have to say that it’s my favourite of the series (to date, because I’m hoping to see more of the men of this firehouse!). It’s really easy to get wrapped up in the family dynamics – the Kincaid’s each have their own personality quirks but at heart they are a loving family and it shows in their interactions with each other. Scott, as the younger brother (he’s 27, though it doesn’t stop his older sisters from reminding him where he fits in the family), values his sisters’ opinions (whether he agrees with them or not) and discovers that it’s not so easy to hide the attraction he feels towards Jamie from them, or his best friend Aidan. But he’s keeping mum about it, as he respects Jamie’s position at the firehouse and her desire to keep their relationship away from work. He just comes across as a really nice, friendly, dependable guy (definitely hero material!). He’s got lots of friends, a good job, and a supportive family. Jamie’s situation is a little more challenging. She’s away from home, and her best friend lives across the city, so she doesn’t have too many friends where she is. As a fire captain she’s had her share of issues being a female in a male dominated job, and she’s learned to deal with anything that arises quickly and efficiently. I'm not going to lie Shannon Stacey has impressed the hell out of me with her Boston Fire series, each book in it has been engrossing and sexy but they've also packed in a whole lot of emotion without having too much angst and most of all the couples handle their problems respectfully and like the adults they are. Fully Ignited features an older woman and a younger man, she's also his temporary lieutenant, yet this author proved you can write an intelligent and interesting story without turning it into a cliché.
As the people closest to Scott Kincaid have found love, he realized that his partying and meaningless encounters with women wasn't something he wanted anymore, so he's take a break from women and dating and has vowed to find someone he can share his life with forever. With his family and especially the guys at his station enjoy poking fun at him for wanting a "TV wife," Scott isn't prepared for the instant connection he feels when Jamie Rutherford walks into his station; the woman who will be his superior officer and the woman replacing his injured brother-in-law.
I was so impressed with the way both Scott and Jamie handled their attraction and their ability to maintain their private life and work lives separately. They both went into their affair knowing Jamie would eventually move on to another station and with the idea that it wasn't anyone's business what they did in their off time and while that worked for a short time Scott's family and closest friends figured things out pretty quickly and their co-workers weren't far behind. In all honesty, they had such an easy relationship melding into each other's lives so seamlessly so it really wasn't a big surprise when Scott made a huge error in judgment and given his issues, it really was no wonder his temper and insecurities got the better of him.
While Scott and Jamie's relationship was front and foremost, all of Scott's family and the crew at the station were a huge part of this book and often gave not only very sage advice, but helped both of them step back and take a look at things for all angles. I really enjoyed many of the heart to heart talks they both had with various members of the department and Scott's family.
Fully Ignited was completely captivating, heartwarming and with a good dose of sensual sexiness making it a fantastic addition to Ms. Stacey's Boston Fire series.

The more I read of this series the more I love it. Stacey brings the heat in this book with
Scott and I have to say this might be my favorite one yet!
Scott is expecting to the firefighter who is taking over for his brother in law to be a man but when Jamie walks in the fire house he is attracted to her right away. Jamie knows how the guys can be so she has a rule about never mixing business with pleasure but there is something about Scott that has her throwing her rules out the window.
I really liked these two characters and how well they complimented each other. I like how Scott stopped dating the wrong girls and took the time off dating to see what he really wanted. Jamie was a strong heroine who knew who she was and what she wanted in the long run.
Stacey did an excellent job at describing firefighters and each job that was mentioned in this story. I felt like I was along for the ride. The story kept me interested and the more I read the more I fell in love with Scott.
I was glad to see and reconnect with previous characters and catch up on what is currently going on their lives. Finally there is a wedding and I just loved how that was brought into the story and the little details Stacey added it to it.
Of course Stacey not only brings in some hot sex scenes but she brings some humor along with big decisions that these two characters have deal with it.
Overall I really enjoyed reading about Scott and Jamie. There story had me from the very first page. I'm really hoping this isn't the end of the Boston Fire series because I have really loved each and every character.

This is the second time I've read the third book in a series by this author and hated it! It's more of a 1.5 star read for me, but since Goodreads can't do half star ratings yet, I rounded up because I actually made it through this one.
Jamie came across as very career oriented and career conscious. She was hard to relate to, because she put her career and the appearances surrounding it above everything else, even romance. She didn't want anything to upset that apple cart, so she allowed love to just walk out of her life. I hated her the most in this book.
Scott was not much better. He's supposed to be this alpha male firefighter, but he was such a wuss when it came to fighting to keep Jamie in his life. I also didn't understand why he wanted to settle down all of a sudden. It didn't make much sense, other than to say "Everyone else I know is doing it, so I guess I should too!". For me, it didn't ring true at all.
I think this will be the last time I take a chance on this author. I just haven't had good luck with her works.

It was refreshing to have an age difference where the heroine was older than the hero but they were both mature that you forgot about it until it was mentioned again. Fully Ignited was another entertaining story from Shannon Stacey. I look for to the next book, Hot Response (April 2018).

Fully Ignited may be my favorite book of the Boston Fire series. This third book of the series has everything that a good contemporary romance needs. We have the sexy, yet approachable hero, the sassy and strong heroine and just the right amount of tension to keep you interested, but not enough to make you want to lock both characters in a room until they can get their acts together. Let's not forget the sexy firefighter. In this case both of our characters just happen to be sexy firefighters. Only one of them is known for his way with the ladies and the other is super aware of how every relationship or possible relationship can affect her career. It's highly unfair yet a very real concern.
I love Scott Kincaid. We got a good introduction into his personality in Controlled Burn when his best friend was secretly dating Scott's sister. His quick temper was pretty much what he was known for. In Fully Ignited we get to see such a different side of Scott. He's tired of dating the wrong women and being known as a hothead. Eventually he wants to settle down and have a family. He knows the way to do that is to stop going out with every wrong girl that crosses his path.
Jamie Rutherford is what every little girl that has ever wanted a job in a male dominated career should strive to be. As a lieutenant without a permanent home she is sent to cover Scott's house while their Lt. is recovering from an injury. Everyone knows it's temporary going in, but as feelings develop between her and Scott it makes things that much more difficult.
The story between this couple is a hard one in so many ways, yet so easy in so many more. They have their careers in common and develop an easy friendship and relationship right off. Yet, they feel they have to hide things because of how it could affect Jamie. Then there's the obstacle of Scott thinking that if Jamie ever became a wife and mother she should pick a less dangerous career path. Double standard much? Even though Jamie understands where he's coming from she just can't give it all up.
I found the path that both of these characters traveled to be an interesting one. It was great character and story development that allowed us to not only see where each character was coming from, but to sympathize with the both of them as they fought the pull of a relationship, succumbed to it and then let their beliefs tear them apart. Luckily, as in any romance we work back around to the happy ending.
Definitely a great installment to this series. I can't wait to read more about these sexy Boston firefighters.

The men and women of Boston Fire's Engine 59 and Ladder 37 are back, and Fully Ignited is my favorite of the series so far!
Scott Kincaid played hard for a lot of years, but after a reality check in the form of gold digging woman after him just for his benefits and threatening to trap him in order to get what she wanted, he decided it was time to slow down and take a break from the dating scene. Watching his friends and family find their happy-ever-afters is starting to wear on him a bit too, and he realizes it's time to start looking at a different caliber of woman if he wants to find what they have.
Jamie Rutherford has worked hard to get ahead in a man's world, and she has reached an officer's rank with dedication to the job and integrity that has gained her the respect of her co-workers. Attraction to any of those co-workers has never been an issue until she lays eyes on Scotty Kincaid and feels like she has been gut punched. His reputation precedes him however and she knows that going anywhere near the hunk of firefighting hotness in anything but a professional capacity will not work out well for her.
Once he gets past the initial shock that the new LT filling in for Danny while he is on medical leave is not a guy, Scott feels that same gut punch but tries to ignore it. He knows any involvement with a superior officer is an invitation for all sorts of trouble, but the intense chemistry between the two of them does nothing to help their situation.
Scott and Jamie were great characters I really enjoyed reading about. Scott is loyal, caring and downright hot when he puts his mind to it. Jamie is a strong, capable, independent woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it- most of the time. Scott scares the heck out of her, and when she finally gives in to the temptation, it becomes too easy to fall for the guy. Fortunately he is in the same head space as her, but neither of them does a great job at actually talking to each other until it's too late. Scott blurts out his feelings at a very inopportune time and everything goes sideways from there. The question is, can they tear down the defensive walls they've built and move past it?
If you've read the other books in the series, there is plenty to like here as we see more of Lydia and Aidan, Ashley and Danny, and Jess and Rick, but if you haven't read them, Fully Ignited can easily be read as a standalone with no problem. I am loving this series from Shannon Stacey and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Sadly, this one wasn’t really fully ignited for me. While I love Shannon Stacey’s writing, every so often, I come across a dud where I haven’t enjoyed it but others have.
I didn’t really ‘feel’ either Jamie or Scott and when I can’t really get into their characters, the book suffers from it. There wasn’t anything wrong with them exactly and I fully understand the next reader totally get them. As judging by the number of much higher grades here, in fact, it looks like they do.
Something else I’m uncomfortable with is the supervisor/supervisee roles of the two. I’m always somewhat uncomfortable when there is a boss and employee love relationship – of either gender, whether she’s the boss or he’s the boss. For me it makes it an unequal partnership.
They are both OK characters but that’s about it for me. Scott is a reformed dog, looking to settle down with one woman and hopefully have a family. He is looking for someone who is willing to stay home and raise their children. He’s a firefighter and makes enough money. As I think stay-at-home mothers are just as valuable as working mothers, I’m very good with what he is looking for. And to me, Jamie just isn’t it. She loves her job and has worked hard to get where she is and there’s nothing wrong with that either. She’s a career woman. Once they get past the boss/employee issue, this is their main conflict.
Scott give in and says he is good with her continuing to work if they have children. But a very large part of me also hopes they never do. If it was just going to stay the two of them, then I would be OK with their mutual decision. But once they bring in children that changes things. Feminists unite and stone me but with her wholehearted dedication to her job, I think she would make a lousy mother. She doesn’t really seem to give a rat’s ass if she has a dangerous job and her children lose their mother due to an accident. At least she would have died doing something she loves and I take a total different view of this. When you have children, they become your number one priority, not a job. And since Scott is also a fire fighter, there is a possibility that said potential child/children could lose both parents in a bad fire.
I honestly don’t see this relationship lasting. I think they are just blinded by lust since there is a very large gap between staying at home with children and doing a potentially very dangerous job.
Because of these issues, alas, this one is not a keeper for me.

I didn’t really ‘feel’ either Jamie or Scott and when I can’t really get into their characters, the book suffers from it. There wasn’t anything wrong with them exactly and I fully understand the next reader totally get them. As judging by the number of much higher grades here, in fact, it looks like they do.
Something else I’m uncomfortable with is the supervisor/supervisee roles of the two. I’m always somewhat uncomfortable when there is a boss and employee love relationship – of either gender, whether she’s the boss or he’s the boss. For me it makes it an unequal partnership.
They are both OK characters but that’s about it for me. Scott is a reformed dog, looking to settle down with one woman and hopefully have a family. He is looking for someone who is willing to stay home and raise their children. He’s a firefighter and makes enough money. As I think stay-at-home mothers are just as valuable as working mothers, I’m very good with what he is looking for. And to me, Jamie just isn’t it. She loves her job and has worked hard to get where she is and there’s nothing wrong with that either. She’s a career woman. Once they get past the boss/employee issue, this is their main conflict.
Scott give in and says he is good with her continuing to work if they have children. But a very large part of me also hopes they never do. If it was just going to stay the two of them, then I would be OK with their mutual decision. But once they bring in children that changes things. Feminists unite and stone me but with her wholehearted dedication to her job, I think she would make a lousy mother. She doesn’t really seem to give a rat’s ass if she has a dangerous job and her children lose their mother due to an accident. At least she would have died doing something she loves and I take a total different view of this. When you have children, they become your number one priority, not a job. And since Scott is also a fire fighter, there is a possibility that said potential child/children could lose both parents in a bad fire.
I honestly don’t see this relationship lasting. I think they are just blinded by lust since there is a very large gap between staying at home with children and doing a potentially very dangerous job.
Because of these issues, alas, this one is not a keeper for me.

Scott Kincaid has always been known as a ladies man, but after almost losing another firefighter (one that happens to be married to his sister and expecting a child) in the line of duty, he finally sees what is important in life and want to settle down. He has been on a dating hiatus for a few months when Jamie Rutherford walks into his station to be a temporary replacement for his brother in law. They are both instantly attracted to one another but Jamie doesn't want to risk her reputation as a female firefighter by sleeping with Scott. They try to fight their chemistry for while but once they give in they have to decide if their future is worth fighting for or if they are just unwilling to compromise with each other.
I didn't get a chance to read the first one in the series but it is definitely on my list of books I would love to read. I read the second one (Rick&Jess) and really enjoyed it so I couldn't wait for this one. My favorite of the series! Scott Kincaid has been a great character throughout all three books and he takes center stage in this one. Seeing all his buddies and sister happy and in love has Scott questioning his player lifestyle. Deciding it's time to make some changes he's decided to take a break from dating hoping to find the one woman who can touch his heart. That is until the LT's temporary replacement shows up. A female in the firehouse is a huge change. A female in the firehouse that rings all his bells - impossible.
Jamie Rutherford knows how hard it is to step into a new house and get the respect of the other firefighters. This job is no different from the others. Well maybe the attraction she feels toward Scott Kincaid is different but she can't - no won't - let it interfere with her job! Staying here isn't an option and who knows where she'll end up next. Starting something that could ruin her reputation would just be crazy, right???
I loved this book and would definitely recommend it and the entire series to everyone.

This was just ok. A nice way to pass the time and made me think it would make a good tv show - or maybe it's already been a tv show (the trope).
Tatiana Sokolov was great with her characterizations and male voices. But there were a couple of scenes that I would have interpreted differently - the tone she took for the main character in a professional situation (fighting a fire as a person in charge) didn't feel authentic to me.

Jamie is the first female to work at Engine 59, and she has been accepted as an equal but has caught the eye of Scott Kincaid-a man to whom she will lose her heart. What ensues is the ‘forbidden’ relationship between Scott and Jamie, and the not so secret love affair behind the backs of their crew and family.
The relationship between Scott and Jamie is one of immediate attraction; insta lust between two people who risk their lives on a daily basis and herein is the ‘elephant in the room’. Good book. Scott Kincaid is a sixth generation firefighter. He is young, good looking, and has quite a reputation as a ladies' man. He's also a really nice guy under that player exterior. Nearly losing his brother-in-law in a fire-related accident has him realizing that he wants more in his life. And discovering his last girlfriend was more interested in his benefits than in him showed him that he was dating the wrong women. So he has taken a break from dating until he figures out just what he wants. When the substitute lieutenant turns out to be a really sexy, confident woman, he's facing unexpected temptation.
Jamie has been a firefighter for quite a while. Some assignments have been easier than others, as far as fitting in with the other firefighters. She's happy to feel right at home with the crew at Engine 59. But her reaction to Scott is unexpected and not entirely welcome.
The chemistry between Scott and Jamie is hot from the start, but both do their best to ignore it. Scott knows that getting involved with his boss is a very bad idea. Plus, she'll only be around for a few weeks, so it isn't like she could be a permanent part of his life. For her part, Jamie has always been very careful not to get involved with fellow firefighters. It's hard enough being a woman in the profession without getting the reputation of sleeping with your coworkers. But an unexpected and smoking hot kiss has them rethinking their plans.
I really liked the way that they handled their relationship. Both are determined to keep their professional and personal lives separate, and they do a really good job of it. It isn't easy, but both are motivated. I loved seeing the easy camaraderie within their days at the firehouse. The respect they have for each other's abilities is obvious. They handle their personal time together with the same kind of respect. I loved seeing how much fun they had together. Though both went into the relationship expecting a simple, short-term affair, neither expected to have deeper feelings develop. And therein was the problem. As much as Scott respected Jamie's abilities, when it came to the idea of marriage, he had a hard time accepting that she had as much of a chance of being injured on the job as he did. On her side, there was no way that Jamie would give up the career she loved any more than she would ask him to give up his. When Scott allows his personal feelings to interfere during a fire, then compounds the problem with an ill-timed declaration, it looks like the end of their relationship. I hurt for them both as they had to face a future without each other. I loved Scott's big moment as he went to her and made his case.
I really enjoyed the two family relationships - the blood family of the Kincaids and the firefighter family. Scott is the youngest and has a close relationship with his sisters. There is realism in their treatment of each other, which has plenty of laughter but also some more tension filled times. I loved how Scott's sisters bonded with Jamie right away. The dress shopping scene was so much fun. The relationships among the firefighters were just as tight. The teasing was a riot, especially when some of it landed on Scott and his search for his "television wife". I liked how they respected Jamie, and also accepted her as one of them. They also had each other's backs, and not just during fires. I loved the way the whole crew reacted to the gossip they heard.

This book was a fun, sexy, sweet 4 star read. I loved all the different relationships in this book so much. It was nice to be able to get into the firefighting world a little more. I also really liked that Jaime was the superior and they way that they handled their relationship in a mature and drama free way. This book is my favorite so far in the series.
My Thoughts
We get to learn more about Scott in this book. From the other books in the series we have learned that he is a little bit of a playboy, a major hot head and mouthwatering hot. We also learned that he is tired of dating all the wrong women and is ready to settle down a little and find what the guys call his "TV wife", you know the "Wife in the aprons and pearls, making dinner while helping the kids do their homework. Meeting him at the door with his slippers and all that." I really liked Scott he was a good guy, a great friend and an amazing brother not only to his family but his Firefighter family.
Jaime Rutherford is the new temporary lieutenant of Engine 59, and a woman. I was originally worried that her being a woman was going to be a more sexist issue in the book, but was incredibly happy that all the guys she worked with respected her and treated her no different. It was refreshing to see in a book. I loved Jaime. She was a kickass woman, but was still respected and had a killer sense of humor. She was able to balance her work and life with an enviable ease.
When these two first met at the firehouse sparks flew off the page. From that first meeting the chemistry was off the charts and as much as they tried to ignore the attraction it just seemed to keep growing. So they do what any rational mature grownups would do... Not fight it any longer. I really enjoyed their relationship and even more when the whole family found out. I was a lot mad and disappointed in Scott for pushing Jamie away in the worst (non-cheating) way possible, but communication issues were my only real hangup with this story. I loved every aspect of it. My favorite parts were when they were hanging out around the fire house or going on calls. You really got to feel like you were a part of the crew and that was amazing. I highly recommend picking up this fun, sexy and smart romance.

Having read all three books in this series, this NetGalley reviewer thinks Ms. Stacey saved the very best for last. Fully Ignited fully engulfed this avid romance book enthusiast on so many levels I’m not sure where to begin. I absolutely loved the chemistry of the main couple and the camaraderie/dynamics of the fellow firefighters and the great supporting cast of sub-characters. Though it did have some very passionate, steamy scenes, they certainly never hijacked the romantic storyline. Thankfully, this author never uses steaminess to replace substance.
If I had to pick one particular favorite moment, it would likely be the main couple’s first kiss. Holy smokes! It’s a good thing these two are firefighters so are used to dealing with heat! I think my Kindle may have melted a little during that scene.
Aidan, you may have been a bad boy once but you certainly are now only looking for love in all the right places. The past several months you’ve been holding out for a lifetime love and you’ve finally found it. Unfortunately, it took you quite a while to fess up to Jamie and let her know how much you need her to always be a part of your world.
Jamie, for being such a strong leading lady, you also were reluctant to completely let go and risk telling Aidan you didn’t want your relationship to end. Fortunately, you two firefighting lovebirds took a deep breath and risked it all by putting your hearts on the line for each other.
Here’s to hoping there will be more books in this series. Unfortunately, I think this is the last one. Either way, you can bet if a book has Shannon Stacey’s name on it, it automatically catches this reviewer’s attention. I absolutely love her writing style!

Fully Ignited is the third book in the Boston Fire series by Shannon Stacey but can easily be read as a stand- alone although you will probably find yourself wanting to go back and read the earlier books. This book centers around Scott Kincaid who is very surprised when the temporary lieutenant turns out to be a woman. He is immediately attracted to Jamie and likewise, Jamie is attracted to Scott but she knows a workplace romance would not be good for her career. She is determined not to act on her attraction but after a stolen kiss in his family’s bar neither one of them want to go back so they decide to have a temporary relationship but hide it from everyone so Jamie’s career isn’t affected.
I really enjoyed both Scott and Jamie’s personality and they had great chemistry together. Jamie was a great mix of kick ass, strong, capable heroine but still comfortable as a woman and taking charge of her sexual side. Scott was a sweet, charming, and fun firefighter. There’s no huge drama or mystery but a good love story to see how they will compromise and work out their differences to turn their temporary into permanent. They did have a few “lack of communication” moments that frustrated me but given their characters, the dynamic that they were in it was at least understandable.
All of this happens with a background of Scott’s family and the fire house. There is a strong sense of tradition, camaraderie, and adrenaline of the rescues the fire house undertakes. There’s also plenty of humor, friendship and dynamic family moments. The author catches you up with past characters and where they are now without taking away from the main story of Scott and Jamie.
It’s a fun, light and entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Stacey Shannon brings her characters to life and gives a great inside look at firefighters while still emphasizing a steamy and sweet romance. Stacey Shannon is going on my list of authors I need to read more of.

I cannot stress enough how much I love this series! Every book the firefighting stuff reminds me of one of my favorite TV shows: Chicago Fire.
FULLY IGNITED tells the story of the third Kincaid sibling: Scott, a ladies man with a temper and I really liked him. There were moments when his loneliness and his yearning for love made me want to hug him and hold him and tell him it was going to be okay.
His heroine is Jamie, a woman in a man's world and holding her own splendidly. Jamie is older than Scott by seven years and his temporary boss. This made this third book in the series both a workplace romance and a younger man/older woman romance. Two tropes I absolutely love.
I really liked the romance but thought the conflict was rather obvious in its lack of communication between the main couple. They hold stuff in for way too long and there were moments where I felt it was drawn out just a bit too long. This was one of those books where I wanted to yell to the main characters: "talk to each other!"
I totally enjoyed this book and loved all the Kincaid family stuff and the firefighting stuff. And even if I wasn't completely sold on the conflict —the resolution, grovel and ending were brilliantly done. When the final chapters of a book have me crying on public transport during my commute to work, more words of praise are not necessary.
