Former rock star Dex Reed throws a wild comeback party in his Austin penthouse, and seven romances heat up the night.
No Quitting Allowed, Rebecca Royce One last assignment and then Lana is quitting her job, quitting Austin, and moving on with her life. Until Jake stumbles into her and changes the direction of her whole world.
Twisted, Cara Carnes Caleb "Colt" Douglas agreed to close out Twisted Delirium's sold out world tour with a gig at SXSW for one reason--win back the woman he left behind.
Do Over, Chandra Ryan When life offers Juliana a fresh start, will she follow her heart or play it safe?
Consortium, Riley Bancroft Record exec Holt Michaelson married the enigmatic Chloe to keep his assets safe from a vindictive competitor, but after a fiery encounter with his new wife, he's determined to claim her as his own, body and soul.
Tall Order, Irene Preston Dylan made the worst mistake of his life when he chose his career over Aston, but tonight he'll take a risk on Aston even if it's too late.
Enchanted, Evelyn Berry Stripped of her magic, fairy princess Aurora is torn between her duty to her imperiled family and to a brilliant musician who holds the key to their freedom...and her heart.
One Night with the Vampire, Jax Garren Tonight Alex will finally possess the woman he's craved, but Sofia's dangerous family secrets threaten to tear them apart.
Riley Bancroft grew up in the heart of Dallas. Ever since she was little she favored stories on the darker side, not only supernatural, but psychological. The pursuit of her writing career began when she wrote a short story based on an intimate scene to share with her friends. They encouraged her to write. And so, she did.
No Quitting Allowed by Rebecca Royce- I have read Rebecca’s paranormal books before, but this is the first contemporary by her I read. Nice romance! I enjoyed how she takes us for a tour of Austin with the lovely story.
Twisted-by Cara CarnesI love the depth and emotion that Cara Carnes bring to all her novels, and this one is no different. I’m not a fan of first person POV to be honest, but her story was so cool that I was totally immersed. Caleb and Shasta are meant to be and even the secondary characters enrich the story. Well done!
Consortium by Riley Bancroft - OMG I love MOC tropes! This one delivered a whole lot of heat and a super sexy hero. Hot hot hot! Whew. A lot of times in these types of romance, the book starts before the marriage of convenience, and with Consortium we follow Chloe and Holt three weeks after they got married. They have to deal with the repercussions of the marriage and she definitely wants to be more than his “companion”. But, when he shows her his true side, will she stick around? The love scenes are sultry and sexy, and I truly enjoyed this story.
Do Over by Chandra Ryan – This was my first read by this author and certainly won’t be the last. I love books that start in the middle of the action, like this one. Poor Julie received a text from her groom saying he met someone else and won’t be marrying her—even though she’s at the church, in front of 180 guests. What a jerk! Lol. This is only the start of a fun filled book. She heads to Austin, and meets Luke. I have to say, those two had great chemistry. Smart and witty dialogue, and Julie is the type of heroine you really root for. As a damage control specialist, she users her expertise in real life and bounces right back from heartbreak. Lovely story that I won’t soon forget!
Tall Order by Irene Preston- I never read M/M, but this one caught my attention. Irene Preston’s sparkling voice drew me right into the story. I love stories with reunited lovers. As usual, Preston’s characterization is top notch, and I could picture their mannerisms and was completely pulled into the scenes. I could feel Dylan’s pain, and his guilt over having made the wrong decision in the past. This book is gluten free (ha! Thought Dylan would enjoy this) but full of flavor ☺
Enchanted by Evelyn Berry- What makes any music festival & anthology perfect? Fairies! I love the fairy tale elements, such as her bat, Manuel. It reminded me of Disney Princesses and their pet sidekicks. In an effort to save her mother, Aurora ends up stuck in Austin, and powerless. Thankfully, she meets Dallas. I thoroughly enjoyed Evelyn’s debut romance. Wonderful world building; one of the things I always look for in a romance novel is conflict. In this book, there’s tons of it and I was on the edge of my seat.
One Night with the Vampire by Jax Garren- OMG I love Sofia and Alex's love story. So many layers! I love how the author made the massage parlor type ambience really sensual and sultry. My fave part was the hero. Alex, the hunk with the deep accent and soulful eyes. "Horizontal he was a client, vertical he was a man." Love that line. Highly recommend! :)

Romancing Austin
This was a very interesting combination of stories by various authors. I liked the combination of the different books which included contemporary and the paranormal. Each book had their seperate storylines but they were still all involved in each other and worked as a whole. Different but very enjoyable.
No Quittng Allowed -Rebecca Royce I absolutely loved this short story. It was the sweetest book. Loved the storyline and the characters were so likable. It was a very enjoyable read which I really wish could've been much longer. Loved it!
Twisted -Cara Carnes I wasn't too sure about this book when I started as I'm not really into the whole rockstar romance but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised, I loved it. Really liked the story and the characters were really sweet and engaging. It was a nice easy read which flowed well and I wish it could have been longer. Very enjoyable. And I'm definitely looking forward to reading book 2 in this series!
Do Over -Chandra Ryan Loved it. It's what I call a 'feel good read', makes you happy from start to finish. The story flowed well and I really loved the characters!
Consortium -Riley Bancroft This was an interesting story. I don't normally read bdsm, it's not my kind of books but this was quiet mild and I really loved it. I liked the concept and storyline. It was interesting and it drew you in. The characters, Holt is a dominant alpha male who when you first start reading about him he appears cold and distant but in fact his awkward and insecure and Chloe is a just a sweet girl who has had enough of cheating men. They are two people who marry for convenience and end up falling in love. They share a great chemistry and the romance is hot!
Tall Order -Irene Preston I love M/M romance, it's one of my favourite genre's to read and I was not disappointed. It was such a sweet, heartbreaking story and I really really enjoyed it. And Dylan and Win/Aston how could you not love them really!
Enchanted -Evelyn Berry Very enjoyable little story. It was short but it was a nice easy read. The story was interesting and the characters were sweet and good chemistry. Definitely worth the read!
One Night with the Vampire -Jax Garren I loved it. It was a really unusual read, a combination of shifters and vampires, but very interesting. Loved the storyline and the characters. Would be nice to read about some of the other characters in their own books!
Romancing Austin, an anthology of melt in your mouth romances is like that Sampler box of decadent chocolates, inside that outer shell is a secret surprise flavor, just waiting to be savored. Here is a reader’s chance to sample each author’s unique style, their take on romance, be it paranormal, M/M or just two people who feel the sparks of passion. Leave to an over-the-top Rock Star to throw a party in his Austin penthouse that gives Cupid free reign for target practice.
A wonderful surprise for readers is that each tale of love, no matter how short feels right, feels like the beginning of something special, hot and is filled with characters that you want to see find, rekindle or just plain fall in love. Seven couples, seven tales, tempers may flare, old wounds need to heal, and who knew??? Austin even has paranormals gracing its streets!
There wasn’t a story I did not like, the heat is there, the passion is igniting and each story owes its atmosphere to the strength of its author. So to Riley Bancroft, Evelyn Berry, Cara Carnes, Jax Garren, Irene Preston, Rebecca Royce, and Chandra Ryan, I have to say, you know how to write! Some authors I am familiar with, some are new to me, but for sure, every single one of them are on my reading radar now. Face it, it is that time of year when things get a little busier, time seems to run short, so what better way to take a brief rest than to watch Cupid sharpen his aim, over and over!
I received a review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Seven fantastic authors share their love for the city of Austin, Texas and its music festival South by Southwest (SXSW) by writing stories that take place there during the festival. They are loosely connected by Dex Reeds party. This is a terrific compilation by some wonderfully talented authors. And they say nothing good comes out of Texas…
No Quitting Allowed, Rebecca Royce - The only books I’ve read by the fabulous Rebecca Royce have been paranormal so reading this contemporary was fun. Ms. Royce has brought the magic of Austin to a NYC girl. This story was a lot of fun and I really got a kick out of Lana and Jake.
Twisted, Cara Carnes – I was iffy about this story until the middle. I didn’t get Shasta until then. I loved Psycho Bets her best friend and Caleb was hot. Worth the read.
Do Over, Chandra Ryan - Who knew getting stood up at the altar was the best thing that could happen to a girl? Julie did much better the second time around.
Consortium, Riley Bancroft – The review copy I received didn’t contain this story
Tall Order, Irene Preston - m/m This is a sweet second chance romance. Win/Aston was sweet and kind of geeky and Dylan deserved a second chance. I was glad he got to experience both sides.
Enchanted, Evelyn Berry - The first of two paranormal stories in the collection. I liked Dallas and Aurora. This story was a great blend of sweet and sexy.
One Night with the Vampire, Jax Garren – I liked the story but have to admit I wanted to know more about Cash and Rhi than Alex and Sofia. Guess I will have to check out this authors back list.
All I can say is run and get this collection. I took the best vacation in Austin without leaving my chair.
A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review
Received the ARC for an honest review. I am a big fan of Rebecca Royce's writing, so when I was given the opportunity to read this book I jumped at it. A great collection of well written stories by authors I know and those I was newly introduced to. I really liked the fact that all the stories were intertwined with subtle similarities. There is romance, action and a bit of paranormal for everyone.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this anthology .Contemporary and paranormal it has a little something for everyone .Though different all the stories work fantastically as a collection. I would definitely recommend this to other readers .
What a fantastic anthology. I'll definitley be reading more by these authors.
I've really enjoyed this Anthology so far. I say so far because I've only had the opportunity to read 6 of the 7 stories, but none of them are very short and all of them are a great read. I've now read all of them, so this review has been updated.
With the exception of Rebecca Royce, all of the authors are new to me and I really enjoyed all of the books I've read. I will be adding the authors to my list of those to read. All of the stories are set in and around South-by-Southwest, the premier music and arts festival held in Austin, Texas and all include appearances by the singularly unpleasant rock star DBR aka Dexter Bryce Reed. Without giving too many spoilers, the books are:
1. No Quitting Allowed - Rebecca Royce
Lana Del Monaco, PA for the last five years to rock star Dexter Bryce Reed aka DBR, hates him and hates Austin and it's heat. He moved them there six weeks ago without a by-your-leave, she hasn't seen him face-to-face since but gets orders by text message. He treats her like a slave, still owes her money and she's finally had enough. Today she was going to force him to hear her resignation. She's going home to New York. On her way into the apartment block she meets, well gets bumped into by, Jake Perry.
Jake Perry is a technical genius who has a host businesses and sees auras around people and paths which he should follow to achieve success. He sees a golden aura around Lana and just knows they are meant to be together.
DBR is a petty, vindictive and childish person who thinks he can do anything he likes, pesters his PA, Lana, continuously to get him out of trouble of his own making and reneges on deals without a qualm. He should be in court on charges of blackmail and sexual harassment.
No more spoilers, this is a short story with a lot of bumps in the road to true love, but there is a HEA even if it does take time to get it. 4 stars.
2. Twisted - Cara Carnes
Shasta Monohan is conned into attending a Twisted Dilirium concert by her best friend Betsy as her birthday present. 7 years earlier, the lead singer Caleb 'Colt' Douglas had abandoned her to follow his dream of being a rock star, and Shasta was left behind with a broken heart and spirit, from which she's never recovered. But now Caleb is back to make amends and try get Shasta back in his life. The story has a heroine with a heart of gold and a self-centred 'hero' who is only now realising the damage he's done. But there is a HEA for them despite a rocky start. Very steamy. 4 stars.
3. Do-Over - Chandra Ryan
Julia is jilted by text message on her wedding day by her now ex-fiance Rodger who also wants her to let him take his new girlfriend on her honeymoon, despite her having paid for everything. She decides that if anyone is going on her honeymoon, it's her. She flies off to Austin with no luggage and finds her room cancelled by the **** when she gets there. Sitting in a bar wondering where she will sleep, she meets the wonderful Luke Sinclair and finds a HEA. I loved this story. 4 stars.
4. Consortium - Riley Bancroft
This story wasn't in my copy of the anthology so a review had to wait until I'd read it. After catching her cheating ex-fiance, Adam, doing it again, Chloe has a very public and humiliating meltdown, during which she met Holt. He offered her a 'business' arrangement marriage, which would solve both of their problems, but his motivation is more than it appears on the surface. After some angst, there is a HEA for them, but I couldn't get a handle on Holt. I couldn't decide if he was a lion shifter or not. Very confusing, but didn't detract from the story. 4 Stars.
5. Tall Order - Irene Preston
Dylan is a very good chef, down on his luck after coming back to Austin after nearly a year in New York, and catering at DBRs party. Aston 'Win' Winkler is an artist and the love of his life. He foolishly thought Win would follow him to New York, but his personality can't take the city, so he stayed in Austin, and made it big on his own. Now they are meeting again and after a rocky reunion there's a HEA for them in this Gay romance. Not usually my kind of book, but love is love and this is a great story. 4 stars.
6. Enchanted - Evelyn Berry
I loved this story about the fairy princess, Aurora, and the human, Dallas Tanner, that she meets after crash landing in a churchyard, and falls in love with. She makes a conscious decision that she will not fulfill the mission she was sent on by her aunt Titania, Queen of the nine fairy kingdoms, but will accept life as her slave. This story is full of surprises, there is twist in tale and it's a really great read. I love Manuel. 5 stars.
7. One Night With A Vampire - Jax Garren
Sophia Valasquez is a massage therapist working all hours at the Urban Healing Massage centre to make ends meet. Alex Moreau is a two hundred year-old vampire, also struggling to make ends meet, but he manages to scrape together enough to pay for a massage and see her once a week. She is definitely 'the one' and he wants more from her than the kinks worked out of his muscles, but hasn't yet found the courage to ask her out. This is the wonderful story of two people, trapped in a dangerous world, who do the right thing and get their HEA. I love this story, and will be reading the rest of this series as soon as I can. 5 stars.

Welcome to my home town!
I have the hardest time reviewing anthologies or book sets, but I’m happy to say the last two that I have read have been perfect. The new trend of collaborative stories is brilliant and I love how over a half a dozen people can come together, brainstorm, make up “world” rules and then let their imaginations fly.
That is what you get with Romancing Austin. It’s not just a bunch of rock n roll related stories thrown together and distributed to capitalize on the popular Austin event; South by Southwest. You have a well thought out mini world of excellence. You have seven stories that wrap you up, keep you warm, and makes you want to cuddle and stay in for the night.
Each story has the element of different types of love stories. All of them are unique and fresh; with only a handful of them being part of established series.
No Quitting Allowed – is a story about “New Love”. Strangers brought suddenly brought together; one who loves Austin and the other who can’t wait to leave. I loved how Jake was able to capture Lana with is sense of adventure and determination.
Twisted – “Calculated Second Chances” are in the cards for Caleb and Shasta. What a sweet story of forgiveness with a touch of tragedy. While things were pretty set in stone and you can see that nothing has changed for these two; I loved how Ms. Carnes showed Caleb with strength and a bit of insecurity.
Do Over – is what happens when life decides to throw you over a cliff, but you look at the positive side and say “hey what a great view”. Juliana is all about making lemonade with Luke. Both of them are blindsided by “Surprise Love”. Loved it!
Consortium – From business partners to “Surprise Love”. Such a great story of a married couple trying to find common ground when what they thought was agreed upon is not what each of them want. I got tingles a few times.
Tall Order – The other “Second Chances” love story. While it may seem like a duplicate theme, the story had an abundance of heart and depth. I loved the journey these two had to go on to get back together.
Enchanted – tell of the “Magic of Love”. Two completely opposite people seem to keep getting gentle nudges into each other’s arms and I can’t be more pleased. What a different story! One that had me smiling most of the way through.
One Night with the Vampire – and to finish off the exceptional anthology, is the story of “Secret Love”. Oh my. How can the tender heart of a soul filled vampire champion his personal savior against great odds when he has nothing but himself to give…sigh. This story was a totally unexpected treat.
Each story is special and is well blended with the theme of the anthology. I enjoyed every story, but of course I had my favorites. While I really should rate them individually, this book can’t be separated and should be read in its entirety; making it very distinctive in the world of anthologies. I will admit I’m one of those readers that pick and choose stories to read in traditional anthologies, they are usually so vastly different or set deep into the authors other series, they are hard to enjoy. Not the case here. I never felt confused or not totally enthralled within the pages.
These seven ladies did an amazing job and this novel shouldn’t be missed!
Only one of the authors in this anthology was I familiar with so I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was very pleasantly surprised.
‘No Quitting Again’ by Rebecca Royce I am not familiar with Rebecca’s contemporary romances since I have only ever read her paranormal ones, but this was a nice change of pace. I really liked how Jake and Lana interacted. They were a fun read.
‘Twisted’ by Cara Carnes This is your typical ‘boy leaves girl to be a rock star and then comes back for her’ type story. Caleb ‘Colt’ and Shasta had a lot of heartache to overcome and there were several other characters introduced so that this will most likely be the first in a series. A very likeable story.
‘Do Over’ by Chandra Ryan Julie doesn’t realize it at the time but being left standing at the alter was the best thing her ex-fiancée could have ever done for her! I really liked her spunk and sass.
‘Consortium’ by Riley Bancroft At the time this anthology was given to me to read, before the official release date, the author was doing last minute revisions and didn’t have this story available to preview.
‘Tall Order’ by Irene Preston I was very happy to see a M/M romance added to this collection because I love me some man-on-man action! Having said that, if you have never read M/M romances before, but may be a little curious to see what the fuss is all about, then this is a great one to start with. The pain and vulnerability both Dylan and Aston ‘Winbaby’ show is just so sigh worthy.
This is a new author for me and I will definitely be checking out her other M/M stories if she has any. Nothing too graphic sexually to offend anyone, so well worth the read.
‘Enchanted’ by Evelyn Berry More my type of romance with a fairy princess named Aurora and the sweet and handsome organ player that she falls for. I really wish this one could have been longer because I just didn’t feel like I got enough time to know the characters before it was over.
‘One Night with the Vampire’ by Jax Garren Another paranormal author that I will be checking out since I now know, after a brief mention in the story about a blacksmith and his sexual orientation, and a quick check online, that the first book in this series is a M/M story (Stripped with the Vampire). This is actually the second story in the series.
I really liked Alex and Sofia and this one was probably my favorite story out of the bunch. Looking forward to Cash’s story when the author gets around to writing it. I think he and Rhiannon have their own story to tell. Obviously another series that I am looking forward to reading.
Though anthologies are never my favorite reads because the stories are just usually way too short for my liking, this one was a great way to get me interested in some authors I may never have been introduced to otherwise.
The sex scenes are very PG so nothing too offensive or graphic to those that don’t like too much detail. Overall, I would highly recommend this anthology for the mix of contemporary/paranormal and M/M stories if for no other reason than to give you a taste for different genres to see if you might like to try something different.
*This was a complimentary copy given to me by one of the authors for an honest review.
Romancing Austin, Anthology, by Rebecca Royce, an honest review for being given this book...
Austin, TX is for young lovers. It's full of life, vitality, fun, and music.
No Quitting Allowed, by Rebecca Royce Jake and Lana are in this cute, short romance. Wonderful deep feeling characters we liked right away. This story is charming, romantic, interesting, delightful, and has super hot sex. Worthwhile read. ENJOY !!!
Twisted by Cara Carnes Shasta and Caleb have a history. He's a rock star who has broken her heart already. Why did her friend set her up? Younger set, hot sex, more sex and sex. Loose lives, she's a bit immature and seems to think there are no consequences. She needs to listen to his heartfelt words. She finally believes when he sings it.
Do Over by Chandra Ryan She was stood up at the altar, and used the Honeymoon tickets to go to Austin's SXSW Music Fest. She finds a mystery man, has hot sweet erotic sex. Great short romance with the right elements.
Tall Order by Irene Preston Dylan, a chef sees his old heartthrob tall, lean Ashton from across the room. M/M. The way he left for NY and Ashton stayed caused their split. Much has happened to each manin that 11 months. Up against the wall sex, brings their feeling back. Dylan's insecurities are understood by Aston and his heart wants him . After the Barbacoa, job offer and deep thoughts, Dylan overcomes his low self esteem, is loved by Ashton, and this time no one leaves.
Enchanted by Evelyn Berry Aurora of the fairies needs her enchantment removed. She meets Dallas, and his “fairy” music he plays, helps him get a job he's wanted. Sweet sexy Aurora find their love.
One Night With a Vampire by Jax Garren Sophia works at Urban Healing. Alex, a military vampire is her steady client she massages. He's got a crush on her. After dating and hot sex, she is up against her “kind” and their drug dealing. She doesn't want to be one, so there is suspense, bad guys, sex, and an interesting mix of issues. Alex saves his beloved.
7 great authors got together to write some awesome stories that you do not want to miss. Each story is a stand alone that is based on the South by Southwest music festival in Austin Texas. All the stories have one other thing in common, A huge party thrown by DBR or Dexter Reed (who thinks he is the king of rock and role and the world should bow down to him). I found it ingenious that all the stories ended up at this party in one way or the other and only one of the others was mentioned in conjunction with the current tale. Each story by itself was great, but together as a group they stand out. There are no cliffhangers, lots of heat, hot emotions and some darn good Happily ever afters. This was a great tribute to an area all the authors seemed to love and a wide variety of styles and genres are displayed. A must have for readers who love HEA books.
Romancing Austin (south by southwest music festival)
Different authors come together to write this boxed set. These are sweetly delivered romances, with hot, fanning your kindle, love scenes.
All of these stories take place around a music festival in Austin, gotta love a good love story rock and roll style! From rock stars, a masseuse, a chef, to fairies, shifters and vampires there is something here for everyone.
The stories are well executed and there was not a single story I didn't enjoy! The characters are easy to root for and you find yourself absorbed in the stories for fantastic rides. This is a series you don't want to miss.
DBR is a douchebag. That's the first thing you learn. Never make a big move with a books across the country. Lani found this out the hard way. But running into Jake has changed everything. But she is stuck in a rut. Will she pull her head outta that rut and look around to see what's good for her. Or will she let the best thing to ever happen to her past her by.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed reading this anthology. It had a little something for everyone. Seven awesome authors, that have given us seven different stories that in some way still intertwined with each other! This is a collection you don't want to miss out on!
No Quitting Allowed by Rebecca Royce Lana is a woman after my own heart: she hates to sweat, has a strong sarcastic personality, knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it, and she feels deeply. DBR is a spoiled brat rock star and Lana has had enough of cleaning up after him, but being spoiled means he's use to getting his way and makes it difficult for Lana to quit. However, in the meantime, in walks Jake into her life... Is 2 weeks enough time??? You'll have to read to find out... Happy reading: )
Twisted by Cara Carnes Shasta feels the need to overcome her feelings of numbness... Even if the actions to do that will end her up in a cute white jacket with shiny buckles behind her back and places her in a comfy padded room where she can hug herself until the pain disappears, and knock some sense into her. My favorite line "This was such a bad idea it had its own zip code in the Never, Ever Do book."
Do Over by Chandra Ryan Left at the alter... every woman's fear, but not Juilana Prescott. Suggested by her mother Julie decides to still go on her "honeymoon" by herself and try to discover fun. Well you won't have to imagine how that turns out... Because you'll get to experience it through the creative words this author displays.
Tall Order by Irene Preston "I never meant to leave him, Dylan wanted to say. He deserves more. I wanted to give him more." Now ask yourself: what is more, and is it just an opinion, is it worth losing the love of your life??? You'll have to read this to find out.
Enchanted by Evelyn Berry In order to get her mother released, Aurora must leave the fairy world and enter the human realm. Then she must find and kidnap Dexter Bryce Reed and bring him to the fairy queen. Aurora thinks she can do this quickly and quietly, but is that really as easy as she thinks it'll be?
One Night with the Vampire by Jax Garren Shifters, vampires, and witches... How could that possibly be dangerous (ok so not serious)??? Sofia is the reason Alex took his soul back and he has been seeking her attention for over 7 months now, but will a bad decision ruin everything???
This was a little different then most bundles of stories in one because of the base of them all. You meet the one rocker in the first story which by the way is the starter and invite that keeps you going for more. Rebecca Royce sure knows too how to build a foundation and makes it to where once you have started you need to know what is behind door "no.2". Lana shows you just how determined someone can be when love enters in. It also is the one where that Dexter is one dude you love to hate with a must read to find out why. Cara Carnes is your next host with one that thanks to her bbf Shasta will have the birthday that will forever change her life. After her Chandra Ryan will show you Julie and making the most of one of life's hiccups is really the path that is the winner with the real thing behind it. Irene Preston has the pleasure of giving the next one Dylan has his work cut out for the love of his life. Then there will be even more of a nice twist for the last two. Alittle fantasy party favor thrown into the mix for a added kick. Evelyn Berry gives you a nice little story of what happens when a mother and a aunt get together and ensure that Aurora's life will be filled with love. And last but not least Jax Garren will give you the one that will show Sofia that love will come her way in just the right doses but with a little fight to it. All in all this is one that will entertain and mesmerize the romance lover from start to finish because of the writers that have shared their stories with us. Received a copy for a honest review.
I was given a copy of this book by Rebecca Royce in exchange for an honest review of her novella.
While I am no stranger to Rebecca's books; I normally read her paranormal romance stories. This novella is about Lana and Jake and how they realize that life throws us many surprises. What we do with them is up to us. Lana is a personal assistant to a pretty obnoxious rock star. She is from New York (which she loves) and is uprooted by her boss and moved to Austin, Texas. She meets Jake Perry by accident as she is going to a party she has set up for her boss and by this time, she doesn't like him or Austin. Jake owns some dance clubs, but his heart is inventing things that "speak" to him. They have night of extremely steamy sex and while they both feel a connection; Lana feels it's just a one-night stand (which she feels is all she needs at the moment). This story is about their beginning and the progression to feelings that scare them both. I really thought Jake was a great character. He is kind, smart, very sexy, caring and very endearing. Lana is outspoken, but no so sure about her feelings for Jake. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it so much more if I could have seen a plot that gave everything I wanted to know about these two characters. It was sweet and comforting, but I wanted more of everything. For those who love novellas; I think you will enjoy this heart-warming story of how a perfect love doesn't have to change us; it just makes us better.
I've enjoyed reading the anthology Romancing Austin. Below please find a review of a few of the books in the anthology.
No Quitting Allowed by Rebecca Royce Lana Del Monaco is a sassy, outspoken woman who accidentally meets Jake Perry on the sidewalk going into a building. The story is fast-paced and laugh-out-loud funny. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts and sizzling hot. A must read!
Twisted by Cara Carnes Twisted is a seconds chance at love story between rock star Caleb and Shasta the woman he left behind. Caleb returns to Austin to perform a concert and Shasta's bff forever drags her reluctantly to the concert. The chemistry and love between the two defy time and distance. I look forward to reading the rest of the series about the members of the rock band.
Do Over by Chandra Ryan Julie was left at the altar by a scoundrel and decides to go on the honeymoon to Austin by herself. Julie is a no-nonsense woman who avoids risks at all costs. She meets Luke in a bar and he is immediately drawn to her. Julie wins over Luke and his colleagues with her smarts and charm.
Consortium is framed around the highly competitive and captivating world of the music industry. We immediately meet, Chloe, our independent and spunky heroine, who finds herself three weeks into a rather precarious situation with Holt, the intimidating, yet, intriguing owner of XTC Records…who just happens to be her brand new husband. With her former career and reputation in shambles thanks to an ex-fiancé rocker, Chloe meets Holt and they enter into a marriage of convenience. The situation seems optimal to both of them, until their attraction to each other threatens to potentially damage their safe, business-like arrangement. Chloe challenges Holt’s strict sense of control by eliciting feelings he’s not used to dealing with, because he’s never been faced with this intense of a connection before—especially with a woman he’s only known for three weeks. What I enjoyed most about the story is the interior and exterior emotional battles going on within and between the hero and heroine.
Loved the idea of this anthology from the beginning. Sometimes anthologies are just slightly off from the best work of any of my favorite Authors. I’ve always believed that comes from the authors torquing themselves out of their own writing process to fit the constraints of a collaborative concept. Not so in this one!
The idea of a collection of stories loosely coupled around the SXSW music festival and one specific party event must have allowed all of these great authors to work in their own way because their individual creativity is apparent in each story.
There is something for everyone here: Love in all glorious flavors is woven through plot twist and turns. There is lighthearted fun and gut wrenching stakes, hard hot sex and heart melting tenderness. My personal favorite (hard to pick just one!) was ENCHANTED by Evelyn Berry. Excellent imagery and wordplay. I didn’t want it to end!
I’ll admit that my history with anthologies has been hit or miss. Which is why I’m usually very careful about picking them up. However, while I’m not a native Texan, I did get here as fast as I could. So reading this anthology centered on the city of Austin seemed like a good bet.
I felt the stories were rather hit or miss. My personal opinion is that if you are going to write a story where the city is just as much of a character in the story as the main characters then you need to make sure that the city is represented. For the most part I don’t think that was done as well as it could have been. Some authors definitely did a better job of it than others.
All in all, this is a nice group of stories but nothing fantastic, if a favorite author is in here then pick it up, if you are a fan of Austin or Texas, pick it up. Otherwise, I’d pass.
Everyone is going to the DBR Badass Party. Lana Del Monaco was DBR's assistant, the money might be good but DBR was an ass and to top all that she missed New York and hated Austin. Jake Perry loved Austin , when he saw Lana's glow he knew he had to be around her. The author Rebecca Royce wrote this with six other authors who each had six different romantic character's that were going to at the same DBR's Badass Party. This was a fun read and the sex was hot, all in all this is a MUST read book. I was gifted this ARC for a honest and truthful review.
I really enjoyed this anthology. I especially liked Evelyn Berry's paranormal romance story and Jax Garren's vampire story and I don't normally read paranormal romance. The other stories were good as well, but didn't stand out as much as Berry's and Garren's story. At first I thought the fairy riding into town on a bat was strange, but after I stuck with it I loved how charming the heroine was. I also enjoyed the vampire world that Garren created. The other stories were good as well. Some perhaps weren't realistic, but after all this is fiction.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was an amazing group of very talented writers offering a great collection of stories. I enjoyed each one for what they each had to offer. Sweet, sexy, touching, emotional and exciting!!
I received this for a honest review. This has 7 wonderful authors in it. Some new to me. I love reading the different story, but one thing all of them have in common is that they are all hot!
A lot of fun sweet stories here...I hate travel, but Austin seems like a place I'd love to go. My fav was the Rebecca Royce story...good to see a non-paranormal read from one of my auto-buy authors.
No Quitting Allowed: Jake and Lana don't start out on the right foot with their first meeting. However, that soon changes as hard and fast takes over. Could a one night stand turn into something more when one wants to flee the state? Loved this story! Especially with Jakes laid back surfer dude attitude. Twisted: what happens when your rock star ex boyfriend shows back up in town? Balcony sex, almost elevator sex and a trip to jail. Caleb comes back to reignite his old relationship with Shasta. The one he let get away. After several years she hasn't been able to close the door to her heart on him. What starts out as a way for her to get closure turns into more than she could hope for. Loved it! Series in the works and I can't wait! Do Over: When Juliana is dumped at the alter, what's a girl to do? Beat your ex to the airport and go on your honeymoon! Luke finds Juliana alone in a crowded bar and the heat is on. Neither knows where this is going to go because she's on vacation from her life but will eventually have to go back. Or does she? Love this story! Tall Order: Dylan slinks back to town after his dream job fell apart. The last person he expected to see at the rocker party was Win, his ex boyfriend. Can they find their way back to each other or will they forever be apart? This story was a little to sappy for me. Dylan's use of the word baby every other sentence drove me nuts. Enchanted: Not sure this storyline really fits this book bundle. Even though the first book dabbles in the paranormal, I don't feel it with the fairies. Aurora comes to Austin to kidnap the famous rocker, DBR for her aunt in order to secure her families freedom. She didn't bargain for falling in love with a human. Will she continue on her mission or will she throw it all away for Dallas? One Night With A Vampire: Alex has found his reason to want his soul, will Sophia accept him? One magical night is all she can give. Personal matters keeps her from accepting him. But Alex is far from accepting that. Although I enjoyed this story, it just doesn't fit with the bundle. I think it should've been one genre or the other especially since the storyline is entwined with each other. Looking forward to reading the series of Austin Immortals. Overall opinion I enjoyed this box set. I would recommend grabbing it.
loved loved it didn't read them all as of today but going to finish it defently. I would recommend this to anybody and everybody No Quitting Allowed Rebecca Royce

He tells you Austin has it all and for the next 11 days he shows you. You also help him with his club ( corrupt manager ) . He sees your light and he knows you 2 belong together . You leave but once back in New York you miss him so much that You tex him no response so you send him a postcard. After a few months you still get no response . He still things about you. Get it to find out was there a reason that he never responded to the postcard. Does he go to New York and try to find you. Do the 2 characters get together Loved it. Consortium -Riley Bancroft ( love all of Riley Bancroft stories have read all 4 ) Holt is a dominant alpha male who when you first start reading about him you wonder why he married her, and why he is cold to her . Chloe is a young lady that was dumped by her ex at a bar and Holt was there to help her . after a few hours he asks her to marry him and she wonders why. She realizes that it was a business deal but she is starting to have feeling for him. At a house party she sees her ex and it hits her that Holt betrayed her . Hold likes to Dominate his woman and he has had feeling for her since the first . It is a light BSMN story. He wants her totally surrender and letting him take charge . he says she belongs to him and she says that he belongs to her . Do they work things out, do they make the marriage even more than a business ( in name only ) . Does her ex spoil things for them Get it and find out
