The couple: Coleton and Aria
Romance trope: on the run
Series: Unauthorized
Length: 256 pages
Plot: Coleton, a potential love interest from book 1 (Unauthorized Affair) is back in town in order to testify against his mob boss father. Aria is tasked to protect him, but Coleton isn't thrilled about that. He knew her twin sister - was scammed by her, in fact. But as the two get to know each other, they find that they have much more in common than just a passing knowledge of her sister. As danger closes in on them, they will have to make tough decisions in order to find love and happiness.
Commentary: Coleton wasn't my favorite character from the series. He was a little wimpy, if I'm honest, but I guess he balanced out Aria's intermittant explosive anger. She was so touchy, and I get it - she was betrayed - but she was a little volatile to be the one protecting such an important witness. I did like the ending though - that was good for both of them, I think.
And my goodness - that police department was nothing but a cesspool of corruption!

UNPLANNED!!!!!
Sergeant Aria Gale was assigned to protect Coleton Savoy who was turning state's evidence on his father, known criminal Fiore Savoy.
Coleton and Aria's meeting was filled with unexpected surprises, they both knew someone in common....Aria's twin sister Ava who betrayed her by leaving with Aria's then husband.
With another attend on his life in the form of his car being blown to pieces, Coleton didn't have any other choice than to go into protective police protection right away. Being close to Aria awakened his poetry side that was in a slumber for months.
After getting burned by Ava as well, Coleton wasn't looking to be with anyone but as always things never went as he planned when he found himself falling for Aria hard and fast. Aria made feel alive again and vice versa.
To see how some people use their position in office to hurt the same ones they should be protecting for their own selfish gains was well done....the way Aria and Coleton worked to bring down the bad guys was phenomenal.

I'm sad to see the UNAUTHORIZED series come to an end, it was a great journey....So happy that Coleton got his happily ever after.....Excellent job by Lisa Ladew.

This is the fourth and most likely final installment of the Unauthorized Series. This is a book I would definitely recommend reading the others in the series for maximum enjoyment. Coleton and Aria made a great if not highly unexpected couple; the daughter of a police chief and FBI agent who becomes a police officer herself and then falls in love with the son of a mob boss. Just the right amount of suspense mixed with a great romance.
While I am curious to find out what happened to her twin, Ava, it's hard to imagine a good story for her given what she has done in the past.

too many questions left unanswered about her twin sister. but a good story. a great cop falls for a witness. there's a very dirty cop involved. hea though.

Not my favorite
I like strong female characters, but Aria was just a shrew for most of this book. She wasn't likeable in Book 3 and didn't really change until about 2/3 of the way through Book 4. I liked the story line, but not the length of the tedium of Aria's self imposed misery. I do like most of Lisa's books and am looking forward to her next series.

I enjoyed reading the fourth book in the Unauthorized series.
I loved the characters, plot and storyline.
Bad guys.

Another great book!
This book has kept me hooked right the way through. The ending was not what I expected which always makes it better. A great read for everyone who loves to read.

I absolutely love the "Unauthorized" series.. In book 4, "Unauthorized Return" we find Coleton Savoy, son of a mob boss in need of protection while awaiting the trial of his father. Coleton was never interested in the "business" and when his father attempted to force him into it, Coleton gathered intel which will put "daddy" in prison.
Sergeant Aria Gale is appointed to protect Coleton. She's not real happy with the assignment, but when Coleton's car blows up in the Police Department parking lot she takes him underground. He isn't happy about it either. Coleton is sure his father will have him killed somehow to prevent his testimony.
Lisa Ladew writes great romantic suspense stories. Putting one of her books down to take care of "real life" is such a chore. I just want to keep reading without pause. And I am looking forward to 'Ava's" story. I am sure it will be a good one.

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was so happy that Coleton made a return in this book because I felt really bad that he didn't find happiness in Unauthorized Affair. I was even more thrilled that his love interest is police officer Aria Gale, because I enjoyed her character in Unauthorized Obsession. I'm pretty much saying that you should read all four books in this series because it's a great one! ;)
Coleton and Aria are pushed together under circumstances beyond their control, and the result is an explosive chemistry that neither can deny. Add to this the suspense of what will happen with Coleton's dad, whom he is attempting to hide from for fear of his life, and you'll see why Lisa Ladew is truly a master of romantic suspense!

Unauthorized Series
Just finished the series and thoroughly enjoyed each and every book! As soon as I finished a book I'd download the next, they were absolutely addicting! As with the Edge of Fire Series I loved how the books flowed taking a character from the just finished book and building a new and exciting story. Great suspense, wonderfully developed characters and super tender but also super hot love scenes!! What's not to love! Also loved the short story "Charlenes' Soldier", it was a nice little bonus plus it was a freebie! ;~)
If you enjoy a good story without having to plow thru 300+
pages to get there Lisa Ladew will have you reaching for the next and then the next in her series! Enjoy!

Well this is the last book of this series (I think) and its about Colton Savoy and Aria Gale. Colton has been running from his father (a criminal mastermind) for a while now. But now he has to come back to Westharbor to testify against his father so that he can be free from him for a long time. Aria is assigned to "babysit" him while they wait for the trail. Of course they fall into bed (duh) and end up really trying to save the others life. His father gets loose and just like in Colton's dreams he is trying to kill him. Does he succeed? I'm not telling you'll just have to read it for yourself. LOVED IT!!

Great ending to an awesome series. Hate to see this series come to an end.
After having her heart shattered by her ex-husband and sister, Avia put all of her time and energy into her job as a sergeant in the Westwood Harbor Police Department. She thought it was enough, until she met the mobsters son. This is an awesome series that I highly recommend. I just wish there were going to be more books in this series.

This is by far my favorite of this series. I like that Aira is so very closed off and has been emotionally scarred. I love that Coleton is a man of many talents and refuses to bend to the will of his crime boss father. It is a fantastic story of love, passion, and suspense. I would recommend this book to anyone. I loved the whole series but this one made it even better. One thing I had trouble reconciling is the Ava situation. I hope this could be addressed in future writings.

This book like all the rest of her series did not disappoint. It started out with enough bang to pull you and hold you tight all the way through it. You just can't put it down once you start and you just have to keep asking yourself what's going to happen next.
It was wonderful and I can't wait for the next one. We have to find out about the ex and her sister.

I can't believe this is the end of the series. I have loved it, I like the way Coleton was a gentler soul and Aria was the more alpha of the two. It was good to see these two get their HEA after meeting them in previous books. Hope Lisa Ladew carries on with the suspense type of stories and hopefully we will be visiting Westwood Harbor again

Another perfect love story with just the right amount of suspense and sex...lol. I understand this isn't a popular series for some but as far as I am concerned...if Lisa writes it, it's great. And I would have loved to see what became of Ava, but probably not going r happen. Keep them coming Lisa.

A great ending!
Now this book had everything you are looking for in a romantic suspense. Coleton is back and he's a bit wounded and fearing for his life. Aria is tasked of keeping him safe and having to fight her attraction to him. It's a great suspenseful read that will leave you smiling.

Yes! Best story of the series. I wasn't a fan in Obsession when Aria was introduced and knew a story was coming on her but didn't know how I felt about it. she ened up being my favorite of the girls in the series. liked colton from the start. my only issue was ava. what was the relevance of the colton/ ava fiasco. there was no closure on the sister and husband. it was a tease to nowhere.

I loved this book,loved the whole series. I hate for this series to be over. I want to know what happened to Ava and Aria ex-husband. I couldn't put this book down. If you want a great series to read this is it. Lisa Ladew books are a great read. you won't be able to put it down.

Loved this book! And I am so glad that Colton go his own story! And finally Fiore met his demise.. there is not place in a world for a man like that. As always Lisa has done a wonderful job of weaving your into her characters stories!

Started out trying to talk myself out of reading this. Just couldn't get into it. As the police chases and almost seduction sciences took place I didn't want to stop. Good read just not hard core enough for me.

I loved watching these two get to know one another and learn to trust. The growth of both characters was amazing and their love was so strong with a hint of vulnerability.
