D is tired of playing games.

Dante "D" Vargas is home in Miami, to stay. He has a job he likes as the new head of bonds and bounty for Mack's Security and after six years of making a mess with Trevor Mackentire, he's ready—he thinks they're both ready—for them to stop playing around and figure out if what they have is real. But Trevor is his boss's son and his best friend's younger brother so it's not as easy as taking what he wants.
Especially when he also has to convince Trevor he's over being afraid of his feelings and not everything is what it seems.

Trevor wants the D(ante).

Finally healthy and whole again after the effects of a major car accident, Trevor's tired of being treated like a child by everyone he loves. He's been handling his own for a long time. But he's lonely. Trevor knows he shouldn't keep setting himself up to be hurt by D's hot-and-cold routine, but he's cared for the man forever, and lusted for him even longer.
Yes, they set each other on fire, but old fears, old wounds, and being stuck in a game of push and pull makes it feel impossible to get it together. Maybe they should just well enough alone.
It'd be easier if every meeting, every taste didn't leave them wanting more.

Kade Boehme is the epitome of dorkdom, only watching TV when Rachel Maddow or one of his sports teams is on. Most of his free time is spent dancing, arguing politics or with his nose in a book. He is also a hardcore Britney Spears fangirl and has an addiction to glitter.

It was after writing a short story about boys who loved each other for a less than reputable adult website that he found his true calling, and hopefully a bit more class. He hopes to write about all the romance that he personally finds himself allergic to but that others can fall in love with. He maintains that life is real and the stories should be, as well.

Filthy dirty and sweet.....perfect!!

Trevor and Dante have been lusting after/skirting around each other for years after their first hook up when Trevor was 19 and Dante was 25.
Add in the fact that Dante is the best friend of Trevor's older brother and works for his father and you have a kind of forbidden element.

The first half of the book is the push and pull between the two men and, yes, there are misunderstandings between them. But when they finally start talking to each other and explain their feelings it's just perfect.

The Sex

God,this was a HOT one!!

In a public bathroom, eyes locked together in the mirror while they go at it hot and heavy.
Over the car.
Over the desk.
Both being manhandled by each other in the filthiest ways.

Aside from the heat it was actually sweet.Hanging out together, doing puzzles, going to the beach....just being together.

Loved it!!.........

There's so much to love about this book:

Two alpha males going at it left, right, and center:

Trevor and Dante (D) are dudes and they act like dudes. The dialogue is spot-on. I enjoyed the humour and banter between Trevor and D, as well as between D and Evan (Trevor's brother).

The ROMANCE:

Initially, we get the dreaded M word: miscommunication. Trevor makes all these assumptions about D, and D is too busy running away to actually talk to Trevor. Fucking comes first, talking later.

BUT.

Once the men do talk, they get really good at it. They don't push each other. They can just BE. They drive up to the beach, restore classic cars, do crossword puzzles, and make mad, mad love.

Let's talk about SEX, baby (let's talk about you and me ... ):

I have no words. DIRTY, wild, frantic, filthy in all the best ways. No boundaries, no holds barred, no shame. D and Trev have ALL the chemistry.

Do NOT attempt to read this book at your local Starbucks.

5+++ stars for the sex alone.

The EPILOGUE:

Hot damn, the ending here is puppies and unicorns and cupcakes. PERFECTION. I could never doubt Dante and Trevor's HEA.

The plot, the MCs, the steam, the romance ... it all WORKS.

BUT.

Yes, there's another BUT.

The lack of editing is (almost) unforgivable, and I'm not talking about simple typos either.

My friend Ele noticed that a wedding planned for the next day actually happened three days later.

Trev was in a car accident caused by an 18-wheeler driving on the wrong side of the road. It's mentioned it wasn't his fault, and there's every indication that he was alone in the car. Later, we learn Trev's ex-boyfriend was driving the car and texting while driving. HUH?

On top of that: missing/wrong words ("My craftsman tool chest was nice to his in the shop"), typos ("mme" for "me"), misspellings ("nothing crazy had happened sense") using the apostrophe to form a plural ("I didn't want to hurt the Mackentire's"), missing apostrophes in the possessive ("brothers best friend"), missing commas when addressing a person (paraphrasing: Evan calm down; don't go there D), and entire sentences that made not a lick of sense ("He sounded as awed and I felt when I'd heart D yell it out, so broken, last night").

I stopped highlighting after the 50th error.

What happened here? A decent beta reader should have caught most (if not all) of these mistakes. The errors pulled me out of the story time and again. Mind you, I read the final, published copy, not an ARC.

If it weren't for the editing issues, this would easily be a 4+ star book. As it stands, and as much as it pains me, I have to go with 3 stars.

I want to re-edit this book myself. It deserves better.

If you're looking for a sexy, dirty read, with a decent number of feels, then Kade's latest novella, "WANT," might just be right up your alley, as it was mine, so dig in!

At 25, classic car restorer Trevor may be tall and built like a brick shithouse, but he's still the baby of the family, which his brother and father don't ever let him forget. Plus, he's never wanted to join the military and their family's security business, so he's seen as a bit of a disappointment and not taken seriously.

But Dante, aka "D," Trevor's big brother's best friend, has always taken Trevor seriously. And at 32, he's finally sick of wasting the last decade not truly having what he wants. Needs. Which is Trevor.

As the story begins, D has just moved back to Miami, after a year-long celebrity body guarding assignment in Boston, and is dead set on finally telling Trevor that he wants them to be an "us," consequences be damned.

Most of the drama in the story surrounds several facts to which Trevor is not privy, so there's some running away, hiding and unintended hurt feelings -- until he's brought up to speed.

Then once Trevor and D are on the same page, the story proceeds fairly smoothly, even including a nice epilogue, which cements a solid HEA for the guys.

Both Trevor and D are pretty stoic, but extremely likeable MC's and I do feel their on-page connection and their chemistry is blazingly off the charts. And these 2 leave no surface 'unconsummated,' whew.

One of the hottest aspects of the story for me is when Trevor wrenches control from D and has his wicked way with the man, whether he likes it or not. But he loves it. Loves. It. ;- )

I could use a few more pages of details surrounding Trevor's life-threatening car crash and subsequent recovery. Plus, specifics on brother Evan's injury in Afghanistan are pretty light, too, but not annoyingly so.

This one has the right amount of angst, nothing going too off the charts, so it pushes a lot of my sexy read buttons and comes in at around 4 steamy stars.

NOTE: This book is available as a free read on Kindle Unlimited.

Hmm...

Well...

This one didn't work too well for me.

Bottom line, Trevor's inner monologue annoyed the shit out of me. He had the same conversation in his head over and over again for the first almost 50% of the book.

Please, no more.

And the editing.....don't even get me started on the editing.

Extra words, wrong words, missing words.

Was it hot?

But then some of the dialogue was super cheesy, which cancelled out some of said hotness.

Still a Kade fan, obviously. This one just didn't work for me!

NOTE: Go see the author's post on FB, regarding the editing isssues.

You know how I always say that I love Kade Boehme's quiet, slow, sexy stories? Well, turns out he's pretty good at hard, fast, and dirty as well! WANT is hawt y'all!
"From the time I met him when I was sixteen, to the time we fell into bed when I was nineteen, to when he flew away last year, want colored every moment with D, every memory I had of him."

The story worked for me on many levels:

~I loved the push and pull in the first half of the book. Yes, I wanted to smack their heads together, and, yes, I pleaded with them to talk already! BUT the tension and the fact that they couldn't keep their hands off each other, was right up my alley.
“I love that you want me so much we can’t stop ourselves, sometimes...”

~Don't let the dirty sex fool you. There are some serious feelz here.

~I LOVED the second half of the book, after Trevor and Dante finally talked. They were all in, and the mature way they chose to handle their relationship was everything. For them, not everybody else.

~The very powerful scene at 80%. If I didn't love D already, I would have loved him right there and then.

~The way they handled Trevor's family. .

~Special mention for the sex. Because I have to. It was filthy...

desperate...

out-of-this-world steamy!!!

Make sure you 're not in public. There is sex in an elevator. On a Camaro. In the Camaro. In a public bathroom. And more... But what I loved the most about it, was how the dynamics changed. It was like a power play, with tons of emotion.

The epilogue is quiet and solid and perfect. Trevor and Dante were meant for each other, and their chemistry came alive through the pages.
“Nothing less than making you mine would have ever been enough.”

DNF at 50% for the following reasons:

Lack of editing- I cannot stress enough how imperative it is that authors avail themselves of a good editor/beta reader (or even just have a random friend read it over, my gawwwddd). My biggest pet peeve ever is paying for a book that seems like the author wrote it in a few days and then hit publish without rereading it for clarity, content and mistakes.

Unfortunately that seems to have happened here, because the egregious amount of grammatical errors, missing words, improper tenses, and commas in the wrong places (amongst other errors) had me stopping so often to redo full paragraphs in my head that it stressed me out.

Thankfully I got this on Kindle Unlimited, or I'd be highly annoyed.

Repitition- There was a HUGE amount of reiteration of facts in this book. We, the readers, do see when you state something the first few times. No need to tell us the same thing over and over and over, ad nauseum. We get it. WE GET ITTTT.

This was my first read from this author and, in my opinion, this full story would probably have been pretty enjoyable for me if these issues had been taken care of before publication. Of course, I'm not sure what happens after 50%, so I could be wrong, but I would have at least been able to finish it.

Edit to add:

I might be interested in taking a look at his other books if I could be sure that releasing unedited books was not something that happens often. Otherwise, no thanks, because I find this type of thing to be akin to a slap in the face from an author to a reader.

Kade Boehme has delivered a hot little number! We got a little bit of everything here:

-Older brother's best friend
-Unrequited love
-Age gap

It was sweet, dirty, and full of feels!

My highlights:

-The characters. Trevor and Dante are both men who are used to being in charge and to read about either one giving up control was - for lack of a better way to put it- sizzling! These two men oooozed chemistry.
-Loved the dual POV.
-The story was fast paced.
-I appreciated that family drama never became over dramatic.
-The endearments. Sometimes they work for me, and sometimes I think they're cheesy. In this story, they gave me a case of the "aww's".
-The end. Solid HEA for the boys. ♥

My only thing is I wish it would've been a bit longer. There's that greedy part of me that wanted some more one on one time between Trevor and D when they first started seeing each other. Not that there wasn't any- but the greedy reader in me wanted more.

If you're in the mood for a hot quickie, then give this one a try!

For me Kade Boehme always delivers, and this one was no exception! He writes it- I read it! It's that simples. 4.5 Stars!

OK, I know many will agree with me that this is really 2 books in 1.

Book 1 is raunchy, filthy, nasty, wonderful sex. Just bare-bones dirty.

Book 2 is romance and love and flowers and rainbows.

So, here is my problem. Book 1, while being a delight in the sex department, left me cold emotionally. Book 2, while being a delight in the feels department, left me cold erotically.

The 2 books needed a little more inter-mingling for my tastes. But I am stilling recommending this to one and all. Get your erotica on, then get your feels on! Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, baby!

I read this over a year ago and never left a review so I decided to reread it and see what I liked about it. I have to say, if I had read this for the first time now, it would be 2.5-3 stars for me. It really, really got on my nerves that the miscommunication and assumptions lasted until around 60%. Oh they have hot sex way before then...several times. But neither speaks up and TALKS about what he is feeling and what they are doing. It just wasn't realistic to me and it was annoying. And "brother's best friend" isn't my usual jam either. Why would his brother care they were dating? He did come around quickly so that was good. Anyway, like I said, if I was reading it now, it would be a whole different rating.

This story just did it for me. Yes, as other reviewers are pointing out, there are editing issues. I've come to expect that with a KB book. I just skim past them at this point. And there are plot holes, like a wedding that took place a few days later than was originally stated and an accident that was originally one driver's fault but turned out to be another's??

But, maybe because I knew about the above things going in, I just focused on the story itself. And I LOVED the story. It was years of mutual pining, with both men holding back on their true feelings because neither wanted to be the first to put themselves out there.

And hawt, dirty, smexy times. Holy shit, that was some of the best I've read in a while. Porny between two men who have those kinds of feelings for each other just does it for me!!!!

The feelz in this book were sneaky too. KB did a great job with the years of pining meeting the current situation. The hospital scene? I was a puddle on the floor.

I will definitely reread this one. Recommended!

I'm so confused as to what happened here?

Image result for confused gif

50% hot, angry sex with almost zero communication between the MC's and then...BOOM...50% oozing, melted cheddar cheese and saccharine sweet romance.

Image result for britney gifs

Neither the plot nor the characters were developed very well. The potential was here (I mean, come on, you've got the whole "we've been secretly pining for each other for years" trope..which I love), but the execution was horrible.

Plot holes, cheesy dialogue, underdeveloped characters, choppy story flow and too many editing errors is what you'll find here. It's like a gust of wind blew all the puzzle pieces off the table and the author just picked them up and shoved them together, not really caring if they fit or not.

But the bright spot? Dante and Trevor sex it up real good. Kade Boehme gives us a healthy dose of some dirty, frenzied sex.

And we all know I like some good D.

***A quick note about the editing. The author noted on his Facebook page that the original version of this book uploaded to Amazon was an early beta copy and has since been corrected. I purchased this book 5 months after its release and there are still editing errors. I'm not one to nitpick editing, but if it's enough to affect my reading, then I mention it. There was plenty here to pull me out of the story.

As the author mentioned : "I got a little dirty for this one"…only a little ?!? Holy hotness !

A very, very steamy story with a hot alpha male and his best friend’s “baby brother” (definitely not a baby at all), packed with miscommunication, family interference, nice secondary characters. I got deeply annoyed by the MCs for not talking, I got sweaty from the heat between them, I swooned with their HEA.

Another great hit from Kade Boehme

You ever watch soap operas? Notice how the characters always say things like "We really need to talk about this" or "If only I could make you understand ...." yet .... they never really end up ... TALKING? Sure, they stare off into the distance pensively and chew their lips in distress, but they never actually just start TALKING so they can figure out the Big Misunderstanding that is Tearing Them Apart.

For about 2/3rds of the book, the main characters in WANT suffer from Soap Opera Miscommunication Syndrome big time. Dante (D) and Trevor lust after each other, and oh dear gawd the sex .... the sex is hot and oh so dirty .... yet, while D always says "We need to talk this out" .... they NEVER do. And believe me, there are some huge gaps - vast abysses of misunderstanding - that exist between these two men as they spend their time warily circling each other in mostly confused silence. Although the off the chain bathroom sex seriously deserved 5 stars, at this point in the book, I was thinking maybe a 2-3 star rating.

FINALLY, when D and Trev communicate, it's very open and honest and their relationship becomes this deep meaningful thing that changes the whole tone of the book for the better. Except for a scene or two that prominently feature copious amounts of spit (we are talking gobs, big ole dripping globs of spit) in lieu of lube, I'd give the last 1/3 of the book 4 stars. So for those keeping score at home, I'm giving this 3.5 stars. Whew .....

4 dirty hot stars

It is the first book written by Kade Boehme that I read and I have to admit I didn't know what I was getting myself into. This book was unexpectedly HOT. The sex was mind blowing and just my favorite kind of dirty. I loved the way Dante (LOVED his name and I suffered when it was only D.) chased Trevor.

The characters fit together and I loved the story too. This book didn't have too much angst and it was a light read. I enjoyed it.

This is a filthy slip of a book -- dirty, dirty. Trevor and Dante have one of those magnetic connections that keep drawing them back to each other through years and situations and family pressures and drama. With this storyline and the various family/friend relationships, there was the potential to get cheesy or maudlin but that did not happen. The drama ratio was just right - enough to be interesting but not so much as to be annoying. Loved the scenes with the family and how Trevor's mom was with them. And awesome epilogue.

This author's style is distinctive, it's like he writes the way someone might talk and I like that. It's different and makes his books feel more immediate. Voyeuristic? It's like you are watching a (porny) reality show instead of reading.

I hate to say this but it's true -- the editing issues make me crazy. Even the font changed randomly for one whole chapter. I love how prolific this author is in putting out books but I wish someone would take a hard edit through it like three more times. (I feel like an ass saying that because I know I couldn't write for shit but seriously, we pay for these books and it takes away from the writing by making it seem less professional).

To end on a pro, this book hit the mark so well with dirty and sweet. Trevor and Dante win goodreads today.

https://m.facebook.com/kadeboehme/pos...

Edited 5/21 - Comment from author explaining that an earlier version was accidentally published. He uploaded the proper version which addresses the editing issues noted above. Mystery solved and the fly has been removed from the ointment of this book! Enjoy with no reservations.

This was enjoyable - I particularly liked Trevor's character (especially the contrast of his two obsessions: classic cars and puzzles!) and the dual POVs. The main issue here is lack of communication and what I didn't like as much was that there really didn't seem to be a good reason for the lack of communication. A little frustrating. I'm also going to admit that this may have been a tad too dirty for my tastes. I'm a bit of a prude I guess.

I think maybe this needed a little more editing. I also noticed one inconsistency. At one point Trevor indicates that the car accident wasn't his fault and that it was found that the driver of the 18 wheeler was completely at fault. Later there was a mention that Trevor's boyfriend was driving and was texting at the time of the accident ... ?

Hot as(s) hell
Dirty, raw, sexy, angry. Two big angry guys when they collide you can imagine what happens.
It was entertaining as hell only it has not really much depth. I think that was the intention.
The story was raw and hot and the scenes angry and explosive.
(D)ante and Trevor. D coming home to finally expose his feelings for Trevor.
Trevor had a crush for D from where he was a boy and he being the brother of D's best friend makes it complicated to out. He is angry for being left after they had their first sex. D did 'run' away from him.
Trevor had an accident years ago and he is still the Benjamin of the family and hates it.
The tension is hot between the men and after a few hhhot explosions they are at the same page. Still the family has to know.
Again dirty, raw, sexy and after 70% even a little sweetness and a HEA.

I loved that the two main characters in this story were strong alpha males, but that they were still vulnerable, especially with each other. I will admit that the editing really affected the flow, I'm not usually one to drop stars for it, but when I have to re-read and put so much effort into trying making sense of what is written, I feel I have to drop my rating.

3.5 stars for a story I very much enjoyed reading

I didn't run across the horrible editing that other reviews mentioned so maybe the Kindle version has been updated. Where I had a hard time is feeling like I was missing huge background stories. I don't know if this is a series sequel or spinoff from another series. I didn't stop to check before reading it. I tend to not enjoy a book as much if I feel like I missed out on background. It's not that the book leaves you hanging or expects the reader to know things, it just references things that have already happened.

Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting this cast of characters and our MCs couldn't have been more perfect for each other.

PS. You may need to read this one wearing oven mitts because it gets seriously hot.

It started out really annoying, I was super pissed at everything about the story for no perticular reason. Like I couldn't really point out what ticked me off, maybe the way D treated Trev or the way Trev was so fucked for D for no damn reason. But well as the story progressed the couple talked more and cleared shit up and then they both started seeming like real equals. Both standing up for what they believed in forging a kind of balance between them. Most stories lack that, and that's why I really hate reading charecters like that. Like one of them. In the relationship is more involved than the other. It was like that at first but as the story progressed it became clearer as to why it was made that way.

Anyway who doesn't like two stubborn men being stubborn about each other and loving the evr loving fuck out of each other? Right?😁

*** I loved Kade Boehme characters and the relationships ! *** This is an amazing story of two strong men, who share a past, and want all that life can give ! They have complications, and hurdles, so we wonder, is it worth it? Tough Cuban guy, Dante "D" Vargas,

has lived by his own rules and he's miserable. A missed opportunity has him rethinking his life.
Trevor is a shining light from D's past; tall, sculpted,

ash blonde the mechanic has overcome his crash injuries.
Ex military, Dante, jeans, Harley boots, is broad shouldered, and is a security/bounty hunter. D's back in town and Trevor doesn't want to be left all alone - again.
Trying to avoid D is impossible.

They are linked by family, friends and cars. Miscommunications, avoidance, and anger, could have been cured if these two would have just sat down and talked.

Very hot , compelling, raw, gritty males, sizzling sex, interesting people, and a well written tale are all here. The story keeps you absorbed and we get an HEA.
Totally delicious. Recommended highly. ENJOY !!!

Ok I'm just gonna say it...

*nodding* Yes this book is riddled with editing errors that are distracting.

*nodding* Yes this book has missing words and typo issues

*nodding sagely* And yes there are conflicting stories as to who's at fault for Trevor's accident.

But. Despite. All. That...

I'm a dirty old bird :) None of the above took away from my reading enjoyment.
I loved the sex. I loved the tension. I loved reading about two big, buff beautiful men dancing around each other. D's a cocky, arrogant bastard and I couldn't get enough of him because of his personality. He was such a lovable asshole that I couldn't wait to read what Kade had in store for these two and that desire of learning how many ways can Dante Eff it up before he gets it right kept me hooked throughout the entire story. Poor Travis never stood a chance. And I don't think he minded :)

If this is your FIRST Kade book STOP! REVERSE! Please read my two all my time fave picks FIRST before reading this. Why? Because first impressions matter damn it and I don't want the errors in this particular story to distract you from the awesomeness that is Kade.
You're welcome.

Oh man.....Oh man did I WANT to be in between D and Trevor. The sex was so fucking hot in this book! So refreshing from the usual that I have been reading lately which has been kissing, prep and then wham bam thank you ma'am. We got some really hot porn star shit in this book and I ate that shit up - I mean, come on! How could anyone not love a sexy latino with his best friends younger brother? That shit was shiver worthy.

Once I got past how much I liked the sex, I actually realized I enjoyed the story as well. While I admit it was a bit confusing in the beginning (there were so many moving parts as to why this relationship was apparently "taboo") I finally got it around the half way mark :). I was too busy focusing on the sexual tension I guess.

Seriously ya'll - if you want to get your rocks off this weekend then pick up WANT and have a friend/husband/B.O.B. ready to go!

On to the next!

I've read 'Trouble and Wallflower' and I didn't like it. And when I read the blurb it's stating one of my pet peeves. I hate hot and cold behavior. F*ck buddy. I hate that.

So please mind me for being skeptical in the first place. But when the author says he got a little dirty on this one, I can't resist. I have to try it. It was rough dirty sex. They can't get enough of each other. Me likey. And that sweet epilogue just did me. <3

First things first, this book was fricken hot! Damn, anytime they got in the same room, there were sparks. I swear they had years and years of foreplay every time they got together. When they touched it was wow, the sex had me squirming, lol . When they finally clicked and got their act together they were so sweet and even hotter together.
