This is a compelling about healing, trust, love and acceptance.
MY THOUGHTS:
This is the first book I’ve read from Normandie Alleman. I thought the storyline gave a little something for everyone, with well-developed characters and a fresh storyline. I am a big fan out Military romance but not so much the Celebrity romance but combined it worked really well and set it apart from others in is genre.
Bridger is a delicious hot alpha male, with an emotional backstory. I liked his character and although he had been dishonest with Dynassy he had redeemable qualities. I thought I wouldn’t like Dynassy but I didn’t find her the over bearable full of her self-celebrity I initially thought she was.
Throughout the start of the story I felt there were so important missing scenes. They went from first date to sixth date almost instantaneously and we missed out on that slow burn, hot building chemistry in them getting to know one another and establishing their growing feelings.
Overall I enjoyed this story, it was fast paced and entertaining. I give it 4 Blushing Stars

Length: 5 hrs and 26 mins
Aiden snow has the perfect low baritone sounding voice that makes a girl go weak at the knees. He was perfectly matched to his character and didn’t make his female portrayal sound over the top.
Alicyn is an excellent narrator but I don’t think she matched her young 24 character very well, she sounded too old and not celebrity enough if that makes any sense. She did not do a bad job she just didn’t fit to the role she was narrating. Alicyn was great when narrating the mothers of Dynassy and Bridger and suited that style more so.

This was totally not what I was expecting!! I read the blurb and saw
"The Queen of Reality TV meets the Kingpin of Porn"
and thought... actually I don't even know what I thought but it definitely involved some time of porno music soundtrack.
But this story was in NO WAY a porno. No smut. AT ALL !! The sex scenes were actually few and far between in relation to the rest of the book. Though the story IS about sex, it wasn't in a way that I was prepared for. And yes, I'm being intentionally vague. Let's just say that the book title plays a LARGE part in this story. Bridger had an issue until he met Dynassy. Read the book to know what I'm talking about. It's not HARD .

This is the second story in the Barnes family series and this time the focus is on Dynassy. Growing up in the spotlight has made her cautious of always having her wits about her when she is in public and during any taping of their reality tv show. When Dynassy falls out of public favor she is under pressure from her manager (her mother) to find some way to get back in favor with them.
Bridger works as a mechanic by day and also has a business partnership with a mate of his. He is an ex navy seal who was injured in combat and when he first meets Dynassy she stirs something in him he hasn’t felt in a long time. When they cross paths again things change between them. For the first time in years Bridger is enjoying spending time with beautiful woman who has no expectations, just to have fun together.
Dynassy is very taken with the gorgeous Bridger and he even gets the stamp of approval from her family. All her mother thinks about is how this relationship will erase the negative publicity for Dynassy but if only they all knew just how public things were going to get. Bridger has a secret, that business he has on the side of his day job is something he has been reluctantly holding onto. He loves what he has with Dynassy and thinks that if he told her the truth she will ends things and there is no way he can imagine not being with her anymore.
When things do eventually implode, Bridger has some fast talking to do if he wants to hold onto the woman who owns his heart.
I listened to the audio version of this and really enjoyed the narration.

Dynassy Barnes doesn't do relationships, she prefers hookups with no complications. When she walks into Sals mechanics to enquire about her car: she doesn't expect to see a gorgeous mechanic.
Bridger has gone to hell and back for the last 5yrs. His former SEAL days left him with injuries that many wouldn't even anticipate. He's not missing evident body parts but his battle scars have left deep emotional and physical imprints.
Will he ever be what he once was?
Will any woman want a broken man like him?
Bridger likes Dynassy: but will she walk away when she finds out the truth about his injuries?
Will the limelight that follows Dynassy and her family be too much for Bridger?
This is a difficult review to write because I don't want to give away any spoilers: so here goes!
I absolutely loved the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was slow paced in the beginning but it picked up. This story focuses quite a lot on Bridger and rightly so. The last 5yrs of his life have been a complete nightmare and my heart broke for what he had to go through. Bridger was amazing and I loved the intensity and depth of his emotions throughout.
Dynassy wasn't what I expected: she's down to earth but I liked the affect Bridger had on her. I was disappointed that she was easily influenced by her manipulative mother - family comes first even if it means throwing others under the bus. She knows what her mother's like yet she doesn't talk to her siblings to get another perspective. I struggled at times to understand her: she's willing to walk away from a person she has feelings for without a fight. Sometimes she came across superficial - and I wasn't sure I actually liked her.
I liked Bridger's mother: she made me laugh when she started talking to him about masturbating and his sex life lol - a conversation no man wants to discuss with his mother lol.
This was a great book and Bridger stole my heart right from the beginning. I liked his fighting spirit and determination to go after what he wanted. I would definitely recommend this book: it was amazing.

I've been following Normandie Alleman ever since her Webmaster series and the Barnes Family Books series is completely different but easily becoming one of my favourites.
Machine is the story about a reality show princess and an injured former SEAL who has seen firsthand the effects of combat on an individual and their loved ones. I laughed and cried, but most of all the story was completely unexpected - the fact that our ex-SEAL Bridger took a 'handicap' and turn it into a business venture where he meets Dynassy, the woman who makes him feel things he never thought to feel ever since his injury.
As emotional as it was it would be so wrong of me not to mention the tantalizing chemistry that was a treat to watch develop between them. I absolutely loved reading Machine and finding out more about the Barnes family; I can't wait for the next instalment in the series.

This book is the perfect example why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I'm not speaking about the HOT cover of this book I am referencing Bridger Thompson, he is a former Navy SEAL and now a mechanic at the local Body Shop but that is not all....nope he is the KING OF PORN! Yep that's right, Bridger is the King of Porn...he's not in front of the camera so no one really knows that is where he makes most of his money but it still a huge part of who he is.
You see Bridger was injured in Iraq and since he didn't have function of a certain body part he created a machine that he hoped would satisfy his ex-fiance's needs....did you catch the ex part there? Yep they are no longer together so now he creates these machines and pays women to pleasure themselves with it on camera. This secret side of him if it came out could ruin Dynassy Barnes chances of cleaning up her bad girl image.
I loved the chemistry between Dynassy and Bridger and they each brought something to the table so it wasn't a one sided romance....they each had a lot to loose if things didn't work out, but they each had a lot to gain if it did.
Will Bridger's secret come out? Will Dynassy clean up her image? Will they be able to work through things if secrets are revealed? If you loved reading The Baller's Secret Baby by Normandie Alleman then all I can say is that you don't want to miss reading the follow up and her latest, Machine because if you thought the first visit to The Barnes Family was good it has nothing on this visit.
Bridger is a veteran who spent the past 5 years recovering from losing his fiance to his best friend after being blown up and losing his ability to get it up with women. Rather than not be able to bring a woman pleasure he invents a machine that does it for him and ends up raking in millions as the new porn king.
Keeping his side job a secret from everyone Bridger keeps working as a mechanic .... and meets... Dynassy.... a celebrity/model who crashed her car and needs it fixed the right way.
From a family of celebrities Dynassy Barnes has a body to kill and looks that can make a man hard from far away... that is all except for one man, Bridger Thompson.
Bridger's not the usual type of man that Dynassy goes for but theres something about him that draws her to him.... but for some reason the beauty doesn't understand the man doesn't make any moves on her.
For the first time in years Bridger is turned on by a woman but afraid to make any moves because he doesn't want to embarrass himself by not being able to get it up.
The attraction is too powerful to ignore but Bridger still holds back because he knows that she's too goo for him thanks to his side business in porn... will be willing to take a risk and go after the woman he's come to love? or will he let her walk away? Especially once he realizes she's just what he needs to get it up again?
From beginning to end I loved everything about this book but I especially loved the premise of his private area taking the brunt of the injuries during his service to his country.... This was an angle I hadn't ever read in a book and it floored me. I loved all the characters from revisiting the characters I feel in love with from The Ballers Secret Baby on down the line. The emotions transcended the pages to my heart and made me feel everything right along with them... I loved it... I can't wait to see if she revisits the twins and what happens with them... and I want to have a chance to see Nick and Eden from Ballers get married and live happily ever after!
They say sequels are never as good as the first and they are right.... they are even better!

Machine By Normandie Alleman Is HOT. Ok now that I have that out of the way I can break it down. So this I a standalone but if you have read other books by Normandie you will find that it lies in the Barnes Family of books! So that being said you will need to check out all the other books in the family.
This is the story of Dynassy Barnes and the Mechanic I would let work under my hood any day of the week Bridger Thompson! I love how this story can together and in all honesty I love the relationship that both Dynassy and Bridger developed. They became characters with real feelings and I couldn’t stop Turing the pages as I feel in love with them. They are a HOT couple and they tear up the pages of the book as we get to know them. I can honestly say that I loved the fact that Bridger was a Gentleman by default and it allow me to fall for him. They have a Hot and sweet relationship filled with understating and genuine caring. This would have not happened if the characters were any different.
I loved this book and the relationship that it tells through the pages. The Characters are dynamic and full of life as you flip the pages! I was lucky enough that Normandie sent me an ARC of the book. That being said I have already pick up a published copy of the book to add to my E-shelf.

“Machine” was not my first book by Normandie Alleman, as a while ago I already read her “Webmaster” series. Therefore I knew I would most probably like her writing style.
The only question was if I would like the new characters and their setting. Dynassy and Bridger were very complicated characters (at least it felt like it to me).
With Dynassy, I was never sure what she really thought. Her words and actions confused me.
And Bridger, well was he really forging a relationship with Dynassy because of what she meant to him or because of what she DID to him.
I honestly had a hard time figuring that out.
Still they were so interesting that I loved reading how they navigated the deep waters with all those sharks surrounding them.
For me it was more about the interesting background that was created than the actual characters. Somehow it felt as if the reader was granted a view into the real world of Reality TV.
I missed the first book in that series but I had no problems following the plot so it is easy to read as a standalone.

Dynassy Barnes was a model and part of the Barnes Family reality show. The paparazzi took a picture of Dynassy that looked like she was stepping on a veteran sleeping on a sidewalk. She was getting a lot of bad publicity. Her mother booked her to attend a veteran's event. Before she went to the event, she had met Bridger Thompson at Whiteside Auto Repair where she was getting her wrecked car fixed. He was a handsome man that got her flustered. When she went to the veteran's event, she saw Bridger and later got to talk to him. She asked him if he had been injured in the war and he said yes, but he didn't go into any detail. Bridger ended up taking her home and kissed her good bye. Dynassy invited him in, but he told her he had to leave. She was upset that he didn't want to have sex with her. Little did she know what his injury was. They started dating which was good for her image. You need to read the book to see what happens.

A chance encounter with a tree brings these two together. The chemistry is off the charts.
I struggled with this story because some parts were completely heart warming while others were just too far out there for me to buy into.

What a terrific book! Normandie Alleman has just raised the bar for all bad boy romance writers. She is a true crafts person when it comes to making magic with her words.
This a well developed storyline, with believable characters. The range of emotions--along with a couple of "ah ha" moments--keep the reader engaged for the entire book.
Get the book...you'll be glad you did!

Bridger Thompson maybe a man of many secrets, but his biggest secret is that he's got a heart of gold and a machine that will rock your world. Be still my beating heart.
When I finished The Baller's Secret Baby I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dynassy's story. She's fun, feisty, and down to earth even though she's living life in the spotlight. And when she sets her mind on something, nothing and no one, not even her mother, will get in her way. She may get lost from time to time, she will always come back to what's in her heart. And what's not to love about a woman that will stand by her man when others would want to bring him down.
Bridger hasn't had the easiest of times the last few years, but one look at Dynassy changes everything. He was only half living, but now the future he never though he could have, now seems in his grasp. His job, the one that makes him the big bucks, could cause all sorts of trouble for Dynassy, but there is no way he could let her get away. Gotta love a man that knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it.

I really enjoyed this book. I have never read anything by this author before but I will be adding her others books to my to be read list. I didn't think I would like this book at first because I really dislike reality TV. However the characters were really well written and despite my dislike for reality TV I really did enjoy this book.

Hot love story! Lost myself into it, Dynassy and Bridger sure took love at first sight to another level with their backgrounds. She is all American tv celebrity, he is everything opposite with an amazing willpower to overcome his injuries. Together they are gonna take everything into a love story. LOVED IT!!

I'm so happy that I had read Machine. I read the first novel of the series, The Baller's Secret Baby, and it completely pulled me in like no other. I've been following Normandie Alleman ever since her Webmaster series and the Barnes Family Books series is completely different but easily becoming one of my favourites.
Machine is the story about a reality show princess and an injured former SEAL who has seen firsthand the effects of combat on an individual and their loved ones. I laughed and cried, but most of all the story was completely unexpected - the fact that our ex-SEAL Bridger took a 'handicap' and turn it into a business venture where he meets Dynassy, the woman who makes him feel things he never thought to feel ever since his injury.
As emotional as it was it would be so wrong of me not to mention the tantalizing chemistry that was a treat to watch develop between them. I absolutely loved reading Machine and finding out more about the Barnes family; I can't wait for the next instalment in the series.

When I first read the blurb of this book I imagined a whole story on my mind, but I have to admit Normandie has surprised me one more time with her talent. The Barnes family came to stay in my bookshelve. I can't wait to know what's next with this people. Although, I'm still having bad feelings about Lucinda, btw.

In this book we get Dynassy Barnes's story as well as we meet Bridger Thompson. Dynassy is just wanting to clean up her reputation but she knows this takes time. She just hopes it won't take to much because it may be affecting her modeling career. So while she isn't working she decides to check on her vehicle. What she finds at the automotive shop is worth way more than her career to her. Dynassy has never had a connection like the one she has with Bridger in their first meeting. Can she keeping him though with her crazy family or will she loose the one man who could love her for just her?
Bridger doesn't do relationships heck he doesn't even date. Since returning from Iraq he has had little to no feeling in certain parts of his body. This lead to him inventing a product that has since become an online sensation. With one look at Dynassy though feelings that he never thought he would have for a woman again. Can he keep her or will his war wounds and where his money has come from drive them apart forever?
This is an amazing book about finding love and showing how far you will go to keep that love. This book has many twists and turns I really want to tell you about but don't want to ruin it for anyone. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

I have read a lot of Normandie's books and loved them all, and this one was no exception.
I knew the Barnes from the previous book in this series and found them a super interesting bunch.
Dynassy seemed a bit shallow at first, but in this book we get to know her a little bit more and she turns out to be much more of a simple and regular person and less princess than what our first impression might have suggested.
Bridger seems like a regular guy, with a regular job, he has some demons from his past in the army but he is letting them go little by little. Unfortunately, he is also keeping secrets so dark that could ruin everything.
Her life is always in the spotlight and being with Bridger makes her feel normal; she is herself when he is around because he has done the impossible and make her put her guard down, she trust him completely, but nothing lasts forever.
We get to see them be free together, two people who seemed so different at first, but in the end they were exactly what each other needed.
This is an entertaining and exciting read, with some great sex scenes you don't want to miss.

Omg, I loved this book! The story line was so unique that I knew I just had to read it and I'm so glad I did. Bridger is an absolute sweetheart, I loved his determination and creativity, Dynassy comes off as a selfish brat at first but she really isn't. I loved the way her and Bridgers relationship develops, even with the few twists and turns along the way, some are just hilarious and others are almost heartbreaking, they do their best with what life has thrown their way and it makes for a great read. I can't wait for the next installment in this series.

This book was gifted to me. This is well written, intriguing and engrossing. It's not for everyone, there is some graphic details of the machine at work. But it's a fun story with some humor and some entertaining characters. I really loved the love story, it's sweet and unusual. And the epilogue was awesome.
