“His cock was so swollen it bulged against the material making it difficult to pull down the zipper. It was my turn to lick my lips.”
“You know my theory that handsome men aren’t as good in bed as the non-handsome crowd because they’ve never had to work for it hard enough?”
“Yes. What about it?”
“One look at that man and I can tell you, he’s the exception.”
“I’m up for the challenge.”
“What challenge?”
“Waiting it out. Or breaking you down. One or the other.”
“What do you say we go back to the hotel for lunch?”
I squinted. “To eat?”
“Pussy, yes.”
“Our mouths opened, and tongues frantically collided. He tasted insanely good, and I never wanted to come up for air. I didn’t care if I died of asphyxiation—I’d die deliriously happy.”
“I’ll change the policy.”
“From prohibited relationships to screwing in the office strongly recommended?”
He grinned. “Absolutely.”
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business -- his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business -- and went back to my miserable date.
When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date. I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked. When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out. But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us -- telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood. My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I'd never see him again. I mean, what were the chances I'd run into him again in a city with eight million people? Then again... What were the chances a month later he'd wind up being my new sexy boss?
Her: Terms? Are we discussing a business deal?
Him: Is spending time in my bed still off limits because I’m your boss?
Her: It is.
Him: Then I want time outside of the bedroom.
Her: I see you at the office all the time.
Him: I want more.
Her: More how?
Him: I think this requires a face-to-face, sit down conversation.
Her: Like a date?
Him: Don’t think of it as a date. Think of it as a business meeting where we negotiate terms that lead to full performance of the contract in the future.
Her: And that full performance would be…
Him: You in my bed of course.
As I went to step in, he wrapped his arm around my waist. “Wouldn’t want you to trip again.”
“Wiseass.”
“I’m your boss now. You can’t call me that.”
I looked at my watch and smiled. “Not on the clock yet, wiseass.”
“Is that how this is going to be?”
“It is.”
“I see nothing but good things happening at work in our future.”
“Is that so?”
“It is. The first night we get back to the office, I’m going to bend you over my desk…”
I swallowed. “That’s probably a no-no in the employee handbook.”
“I’ll have to fix that promptly.”
He watched me intently. “No expectations, no disappointment?”
… I looked down. “I guess.”
He leaned in. Touching my chin, he gently lifted. “Give it a chance. I might be the one who doesn’t disappoint you.”
"Don't focus on the what IFS. Focus on what IS."
""Fear does not stop death. It stops life."
Meet millionaire businessman, Chase Parker aka Bossman and advertising executive, Reese Annesley aka Buttercup!!!
Lord have mercy. The man truly had the full package. And by that, I didn’t mean good looks, charm, and money… No, Chase had a damn full package.
“Chase…”
He buried his face in my hair from behind, inhaling deeply, then wrapped it around his hand and tugged my head back. “You’re soaked. How long will you stay mad at me for bending you over this desk and fucking you, Buttercup?”
“You’re right. I do want what I don’t have. That’s part of it. But not in the way you think. Don’t ask me to explain it, but when I’m around you, I’m happy. That’s all I’m after.”Smooth with good flow making reading so easy and enjoyable.
“I saw her first,” the man whined.
“I don’t think so, buddy. I sucked her face in middle school. Take a hike.”
“Sometimes you don’t know what you’re missing until you find it.”Let me just say.........don't miss this one!! Bossman will make you smile for days!!!
Don’t focus on the what ifs. Focus on what is.
"I couldn't remember ever wanting another man as badly as I wanted Chase. For a while, I'd thought it was because he was my boss-- that exciting feeling of being tempted by the forbidden. But I knew it was more than that. So much more, it scared the hell out of me. "
"You're fired," he groaned as he buried his face in my hair. "So fucking fired."
He was someone I couldn’t put my finger on… he didn’t seem to fit into any one box.
I was the balance to his unsteadiness. He was the courage to my fear.
“This ass. I can’t wait to take it. But not here. I won’t be able to keep you quiet when you have my cock in your ass and my fingers in your pussy at the same time.”

“Are you…able to move on?”
He’d told me he wanted to try. But trying and actually putting the past behind you were two very different things. I should know.
“To be honest, the last seven years, I had no idea I wasn’t moving on. Thought what I was doing was moving on.”
“You mean sleeping with women?”
He shook his head. “Yeah. I was standing in place a long time. Not letting go.”
“But you think you’re ready to move on now?”
“I think it took me this long to realize what moving on meant. It doesn’t mean forgetting what you’ve left behind. It means making her a memory and deciding to have a future without her in it.”
"Don't focus on the what ifs. Focus on what is."
"Hope. It's an amazing thing. It grows inside of you like a vine and wraps around your heart, making it warm." Reese
"I find I'm more creative in the evening. Sometimes after I've climbed into bed and shut off the lights, an idea will come to me for something I was trying all day to focus on."
"I'm very creative when I shut off the lights and slip into bed, too. Maybe we should try that together sometime? Probably produce some amazing results-twice as creative and all."
"So we're good? I apologize, you accept? You're going to kick ass in the interview and get hired, then I'm going to try to get in your pants, and you're not going to let me."
“I was the balance to his unsteadiness. He was the courage to my fear.”
