Writing Mr. Right

#1 Bestseller in British Contemporary Fiction

"A modern Outlander meets Practical Magic - with a heavy dose of sexy!"

What would you do if every word you wrote came true?
That's Georgia's blessing - or curse. Ever since she was little, if Georgia Kilduff wrote a wish on paper, that wish would come true.

Except for one - Georgia can't seem to write her Happily Ever After.

Now a successful romance novelist, Georgia travels the world signing copies of her novels for avid fans of her main character - 'the perfect man,' Douglas MacCready.

Get in line, ladies. Georgia loves him too. If only he really existed.

When she meets Garrett MacCauley - a charming book store owner in Inverness - Georgia is startled by some striking similarities, from his middle name to a scar on his right hand. Hell, he even shags like him!
But Douglas MacCready can't be real. He's just a character in her book, right?

Or has Georgia carried him with her all along?

A story of love and destiny, WRITING MR. RIGHT shows the magic of true love, the mischief of fate, and reminds us all that when two people are meant to be together, nothing can keep them apart.

Magic, fate or true love?

When finding your perfect match do you search for your one true love? Maybe you wait for fate to place them in your path? Sometimes, true love happens when you least expect it. A touch of magic may help you find your perfect love. Do you trust it, put it to the test or just wait and see how it all plays out. In Writing Mr Right we see a little magic, a touch of fate and a whole lot of true love.

I really enjoyed Writing Mr Right. It's quirky, sweet and steamy. The characters are lovable and the storyline kept my attention from start to finish.

Georgia, the heroine of the story, writes magic and her latest story has made her an International success. Her romance novels are passionate and full of steamy scenes that are born from her fantasies. It's not unusual for her to be asked where her inspiration comes from. Georgia, completely embarrassed by the questions, always answers but keeps it very vague. Obviously, it's not really their business, but she knows they're just curious. What makes it more uncomfortable is the scenes are what she desires and up until now, not from her own experience.

Georgia's latest hero is Scottish and sinfully sexy. Imagine her surprise when she turns up to a book signing in Scotland and comes face to face with him.

Garrett is in the process of selling his bookstore. Before he closes the doors he decides to host a book signing for the latest and greatest romance writer. He meets Georgia and feels an instant attraction and it seems to be mutual. One extremely HOT night together leaves them desperate for more but unfortunately, Georgia's on tour and has to leave straight away.

After their smoking hot first meeting where the sparks were flying, fate plays a nasty trick on them and they are kept apart. Neither of them can move on and are determined to see if the connection was real. Will fate give them a hand or just put more obstacles in their path?

This story had all of the things I adore in my romance. Hearts aflutter, sexy times that made me squirm, and a deep connection that jumped off the pages. Georgia is funny and sweet while Garrett is strong, determined and a wee bit bossy.

Writing Mr Right left me with a goofy smile on my face. If you're looking for a sweet and funny story with an epilogue that is smoking hot while also maintaining its cuteness Writing Mr Right might be perfect for you.

Georgia Kilduff is a writer using the pen name Victoria Mason. She was taught at an early age to write her wishes down to affirm them. Georgia has a mystical gift because when she puts pen to paper the things she writes about come to pass. Georgia is in love with all things Scotland because of a trip she took there as a child. She has written two romance novels about Douglas MacCready, a Scotsman, & Deirdre. Georgia believes her fictional leading man is the 'perfect' man. While on a book tour promoting her novels Georgia finds herself in Scotland. She is headed North to a town called Inverness. While there she will be signing books at Burns Book Shop owned by Garrett MacCauley. Georgia & Garrett spend a long day together & are drawn to one another. They spend a very lustful & adventurous night with each other. Georgia has to leave due to the book tour & Garrett agrees to call. Through a series of thrown out papers & deleted phone messages, Garrett is unable to call. Neither of them can stop thinking about the other one. Garrett finds himself relocated to Edinburgh & six month later Georgia is speaking at the Edinburgh Book Festival. After lecture they find each other wandering the streets in the middle of the night & rekindle their attraction for one another. This time when Georgia leaves Garrett knows he will be able to keep in touch. When Georgia finally comes to stay with Garrett for an extended period of time, she shares about her mystical gift. Garrett is left wondering if Georgia is in love with a character from her book or if she is in love with him as a man.........

This was a delightful book. It is very fun loving & full of how adventurous sex can be between lovers. The writing is good & the story idea is unique. The book is intended for mature readers. I would recommend this book to anyone!

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a calamity of poor pacing and disappointment. I wanted to love it so much because of the premise and the cover. The beginning was cute. I was enjoying the Scottish setting and was happy with the book right up until the main characters part ways for the first time. Their connection was instant and rather steamy. Then they parted ways and due to various circumstances, they can't contact each other. The whole unable to contact each other schtick went on for far too long for my taste. The months of lost phone numbers, broken phones, changing phone numbers, messages lost/thrown away, and the selling of Garret's bookshop took up too much of the story. It went on until approximately 60% into the book. I just wish we had passed through that portion of their romance quicker and then have them being together, building their romance more. It was just disappointing because after all of that anger and pining, all we got were sex scenes and their third act fight, with a brief happily ever after epilogue that was not surprising mostly another sex scene. I get that we are supposed to believe they are fated to be together, but honestly I didn't care by the happy ending.

I'm also at a point in my reading career that I can't stand when adult characters in romances can't communicate with each other. Their whole, almost break-up fight was just because they couldn't talk to each other. I feel like it makes sense with how little time they've actually spent together over the course of the book, but it irritated me to no end.

Overall, this book just ended up not being for me. I was just irrationally irritated with everything past the 35-ish% mark.

Somewhere between a written fairytale and a contemporary romance novel – that is where you will find “Writing Mr. Right” by Michaela Wright. In a beautiful setting the author created a plot that was easy enough to get lost in and engaging enough to keep on sucking the reader into it. I felt myself longing for a deep breath in a tiny old English Bookstore. Goosebumps running along my arms while I thought of that Scottish Charm mixed with the smell of an old novel.
Beautiful written

Good god that's one sexy Scotsmen!
Ok saying that like who wouldn't right ;) I must say it was one randy piece of work. Georgia who's been discovered and at the same time over whelmed by her success as a writer goes on one of many book tours over to Scotland not expecting to see her sexy Scottish hero from her books in the flesh. But she finds Him and a whole lot more!
Garrett has been in a funk both in his personal life and his mothers blessed book store. Only to get slapped with unexpected attraction to the poster of the writer who's doing a book signing the fallowing day at his small little shop only that once he sees her his world stops and he wants her.

Now saying this you can see how randy it's going to get. But I'll let you discover just how randy on your own ;)

Though I do believe in fate and I can see the author does too. The book has a mystic almost Celtic spirit to it that I'm drawn too. With that be ready to blush when you read I know I did and at the same time you want to yell at them for what you see. Though I would like to see the topic of the, moving in together and possibly how Georgia writes the ......oops almost gave away the ending now that wouldn't be nice of me if I want you to read it ;)

Well done michaela write I can't wait to see what I discover of your next !!!!!

little bit of magic

When the couple got together and then separated so early in the book I thought this story would be torture reading about them never getting together until the end. I’m glad I was wrong. I enjoyed the story and steamy scenes and the little bit of magic in it.

I was looking forward to this book.

I ended up being a bit disappointed.

1. The cover that I originally saw made it look like the heroine was plus size. If she actually was, it was never mentioned in the book.

2. It wasn't a page-turner. It was entertaining and sweet, but it had the same conflict over and over. I also knew the big surprise at the end right away.

3. The epilogue. Really?? So unnecessary and long.

4. The synopsis made it sound like it was going to be more magical. It wasn't at all. Still entertaining, but don't misrepresent the book.

Overall, a very sweet romance, but I was kind of looking forward to getting through it as soon as I could so I could move on to something else.

WRITING MR. RIGHT is a story about falling in love and about losing everything only to find it again when you least expect it. It is a story of love and destiny, fate and circumstances, the magic of true love, and lets us know that when two people are meant to be together, nothing can keep them apart. The story-line and interesting and intriguing characters enchant you and keeps you wanting to read more.

3.25-3.5 stars. This was a pretty cute book. This the story of Georgia, an up and coming author who has a gift of the things she writes about coming true in real life. Her books are set in Scotland and she has always loved the area. She goes to a book signing there at a small local bookshop and meets Garrett. He is the owner of the book store and he has a lot of eerily similar traits that the hero of Georgia's book has. They have an instant spark and connection. They spend a ton of time talking and flirting and then after the signing end up spending a great night and morning together. Both of them want to stay in touch with each other, despite the fact that Georgia lives in the US. But a series of bad luck and unfortunate coincidences happen that make them unable to contact each other (lost phone numbers, broken phones, a new phone number, messages thrown away, a sold bookshop, etc.). They both spend months trying to find each other, before they are finally able to reconnect. They begin a relationship and end up finding that fate had an even bigger part in their meeting than they thought.

I could totally see this book being a movie. I liked the Scottish setting and could picture the scenes happening. It was a very cute romance where fate plays a big hand. I liked Georgia and Garrett. They were both good characters. I felt like the pacing was a bit off. The couple met and had a great night together, but then are unable to get in touch with each other for over 6 months. Both are looking for each other and always thinking about each other, but I felt like the momentum was lost a bit. Then when they get back in touch with each other, it is sort of awkward for them until they got used to each other again. I also did not like the 2 month skip ahead at the end that happened mid-scene in the middle of a serious discussion. I thought it was a cop-out and I didn't like the unnecessary suspense it brought. But I thought the story was original and cute. The writing was good and I liked the characters. In general, I enjoyed it and I would read more from this author in the future.

Wow, what a book!

I am originally from Edinburgh but haven't been back to Scotland for about 6 years, so reading this book gave me a big taste of home, there were many times that i found myself grinning when reading certain phrases. And loved that the battered mars bar got a mention :-) I know Edinburgh like the back of my hand and i have to say that the descriptions of the Royal Mile and the surrounding areas are dead on, i also loved that when Garret's character spoke, it was written as you would hear it in conversation.

I really really enjoyed the plot of this story, it was one of those reads that you couldn't put down, that you just had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next, to see how fate is going to play out! I have never read a book quite like this and i will definitely be seeking out Michaela Wright's books after reading this!

I thought Georgia's character was brilliant, i really loved how strong she is emotionally, even right at the beginning when she is going through horrible grief of a loved one, she still seems to stay rock solid even through the pain. There was something so endearing about her, something that just swept you up into her life and her world, i can only say that this is down to the author being able to be so descriptive about her, about her hopes and fears from the things she has experienced in her life.

I think that everyone will fall in love with Garrett! From the moment he enters the book, you are just taken by him, he is kind and courageous, fighting for what he wants and what h believes is right! There is no doubt that he is an alpha male and is comfortable in the position, it comes across as he is who he is, he has no doubts as to what sort of person he is.

I cant recommend this book highly enough, a definite read whether or not you just like romance books or whether you prefer the more supernatural/paranormal. To be honest, no matter what you like to read you will definitely be a fan of this book!

When Georgia heads to Scotland for a book signing, she has no idea that fate and destiny have her future in their hands and are about to lead her to her own Mr. Right. She's been writing the perfect man in her Scottish romances, but it's Garrett who will turn out to be her perfect man.

Garrett is on the verge of selling his bookstore when he decides to have one last signing. When Georgia (Victoria) crashes into his life, their seriously hot encounter leaves them both wanting more, a lot more. But fate seems to be playing tricks on the two star crossed lovers, and they're kept apart. Will they find their way back to each other? Is Garrett really Georgia's perfect man?

I adored Writing Mr. Right. It's got a tinge of mysticism in it with fate and destiny playing more than a small role. And Georgia and Garrett are such a great couple with a passionate, strong connection. And the Scottish setting? Fabulous! I felt as if I were right there with the two. I can't wait for more from this author.

This is a fun read with some steamy scenes with a HOT Scottish hunk. Georgia is an author and it seems that what she writes comes true. When she meets Garrett at his bookstore for a book signing, he is the spitting image of her lead character Douglas. But he seems familiar to her and not to mention his killer smirk. While Garrett seems to be drawn to her, he wants to spend more time with her.
I really enjoyed this book and if I could write myself a hunk, I would become an author too. Seriously, it is a fun quick read that will have you laughing at their quirkiness and the things that bring them together. Is it really coincidences or can she really write her desires? Find out for yourself and enjoy.

What a great concept if only it could really happen.

Georgia has a gift, what she writes comes to pass. While on a book tour in Scotland (her favorite place) she meets Garrett MacCauley.
The spend a wonderful day and night together with promises to stay in touch. Things happen and it never happens but six months later they reconnect and she reveals her secret truth. That leaves him wondering does she love him or a character she invented?

I had such a fun time reading this book. It had so many elements in a romance that made me smile. I can't help but wondering what the author will come up with next. Hopefully someone as sexy as her this bossy Scot who in most men would be a turn off but not with Garrett :D

Georgia and Garrett's Story . . .

I was swept up in the magic as soon as we meet Garrett MacCauley, the swoonworthy bookstore owner. Georgia Kilduff has always has that touch of magic with her writing. Once she penned it on paper, her wish came true. Her books have an amazing main character, Douglas MacCready, whom all of her readers adore. He is “The Perfect Man”. But even Georgia knows that he doesn’t really exist.

But that bookstore signing, hosted by the owner, Garrett MacCauley, seems to be magical after all! Because he not only has Scottish charm that cannot be equaled, but he shares a middle name with her character, and has a certain scar on his right hand. Has the character in her book come alive? Or is it only her heart that is seeing him now?

Super steamy 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

She is a succesful book author with a few pecularities. Most of her written words would come true in her own life.

He is a dream come true for her, who has a small book store in Invernes.

Both of them develop a great romantic

/sexual relationship. They try all their fantasies without remorse.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and I leave this review because I enjoyed this book.

This is the story of Georgia, a romance novelist who also has the uncanny ability to write things and then they come true. Everything expect her happily ever after that is.

Her books have become best sellers and she finds herself in Scotland, the country she has always been drawn to for some reason and face to face with one of the most beautiful men she has ever seen.

Garett seems to be everything Georgia has been looking for all her life but she has been burned by men before. Can she believe in the magic enough to let him in and give them a real chance?

My review:

I saw this book on a chat board and after seeing that it was free for Kindle unlimited, I figured I would give it a try. Writing this review is difficult...I really liked the characters and the story line if different which intrigued me but here's my problem and I couldn't get past it...

The hero is Scottish, we as the reader know that from the blurb and from the fact that the heroine is in Scotland...but the author writes Garrets dialogue as though he is speaking...with a think Scottish burr.

No normally, things like grammar, etc. don't bother me in a story but this really bothered me. If made the reading a lot slower and difficult to follow at times. Just because a character is a certain nationality, doesn't mean he has to speak that way in every piece of dialogue he has. Makes it hard to follow at times.

My thoughts:

POV> Switches between Georgia and Garret but not cleanly.
Quick hook or slow starter? 3 (It hooked me but the pace was slow)
Character development: 3.6
Level of Romance between characters: 3
Passion/Heat level: 4(there is not a lot of sex, I was actually hoping for a bit more.)
Angst/Heartbreak: 3 (Only one real misunderstanding
Cliffhanger?: Not really, but the author left it open to do another book.

Overall, it was good but not great...glad I got it for free. If you ca pick it up for free I say go for it...this one is at least entertaining!

Writing Mr. Right by Michaela Wright Writing Mr. Right By: Michaela Wright
Can She "Writing Mr. Right" Into Her Own HEA?!
She's a writer eager to write her own happy ending...
The only problem...
The wishes she writes for herself don't come true!
Or do they...
Can she really "Writing Mr. Right" for herself?!
Maybe, he's been written for a long time & has just awaiting the PERFECT time to Step inside her world...
Fate can be fickle that way..
Well, once they meet, they think it's gonna be Sunshine & Rainbows; after all, Love conquers all...
Unfortunately, it's more like Lemony Snicket's Unfortunate Events...
Will they finally get it together...
Can they make a long-distance relationship work...
Are they doomed to fail...
Will their past keep them apart...
Or, will they beat the odds & make it...
Can she actually "Writing Mr. Right" & expect him to be real...
In the END, Will she finally write her OWN happy ENDING...

So first book I have read from this author. But hey who will pass up a story about a Scottisch perfect man !!

Georgia's grandmother always told her “Soul mates always find their way to each other, my dear. In every life. And you know you have one. And the cards say you’ve already met him, too.” but she still thought it was her ex Walter was want she ment.

Now 2 years later she's going on a book tour to her beloved Edinburgh, the first time she came there was at the age of 8 with her mother, father and sister. They still told everyone the story that have her almost arrested for assaulting an officer.

Garrett MacCauley a bookshop owner in a small town Iverness, is preparing his shop for the Romance novalist Victoria Mason (aka Georgia), never is his mind would he know that the day she arrived their world would turn upside town.

The first moment they meet Georgia is a little bit overwelmed, because Garrett looks exactly like her character Douglas MacCready. Green eyes, a scar on his hand this could not be happening or is it? After a whole day of signing books the last one is for Garrett who she finds the perfect man.

After there steamy night together in the bookshop and his appartment it's time to say goodbye but both hate the idee of leaving, but promise to keep in touch! Couple of weeks later and still he didn't call or texted her maybe this was not meant to be. Garrett has a major problem he lost Georgia's phone number how will he contact her now?

Can they find each other back? And why is her grandmothers words always is the back of her mind? Because she never met him before or did she ??

Will they have their HEA?
