Who in their right mind would take a beautiful children's fairy tale, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears and turn it into a sexy, flirtatious, adult fairy tale? Sacrilege, you say! Well, there's a British author by the name of Jess James who's done exactly that and what's more, she's done it to a number of our favorite fairy tales from when we were children. Guess what? IT WORKS!
My initial thoughts on picking up this book were a hark back top my childhood - Goldilocks and the three bears! Ooops, I thought, what might we have here? Readers can rest assured, though, the three bears do not make an appearance in James' version of the classic.
Putting aside the clever construct of using our childhood memories as the basis for her books, this is a very readable, very enjoyable book. It follows the original story to some extent, but it also gives Goldilocks a real, damaged and fragile persona. It's not a long book, by any stretch of the imagination, but it would be a great read before bedtime, to get one or other of you into the mood. It is well written and the erotic scenes are just that, erotic, steamy and exciting, not pornographic.
I really enjoyed this book and can recommend it to anyone who wants an adult trip down memory lane. I can assure you, I'll be brushing up on a few of my old memories before this series is done with.
A great idea, sensitively and beautifully handled by a skilled author. It's well worth the five stars I've given it.

This is an fun erotic novelette with a bit of a twist. The author had the heroine a virgin and making two dismal choices in sex partners before she came unto her own in the woods, literally. If you are looking for a quick thrill, this novelette will just do the trick.

Goldie had been alone a long time, she just hadn't realised it. She gave Jake her first everything, and it seemed she was nothing more than a game to him. He started to control her, subtly, like not wanting to hang out with her friends, until she became isolated from them. Then one day she found herself on the run, fleeing to a place she hoped even he wouldn't find her. How could he? She didn't even know where she was herself. Tired and lost she comes across what seems to be an empty cabin in the woods. The relentless walking, the isolation, all too much to bear she decides to use it as shelter for the night. Hoping whoever owned it wouldn't begrudge her this shelter. She had hoped to escape her life, but what she found instead gave her something she so desperately needed.

This is the second book by Jess James I have read, and it was a fun read. It takes about an hour so it is the perfect bedtime story, but keep your children away from this one, as the title implies this is a tale of an adult nature. I must say that Jess James writes brilliant erotica, the language is soft and inviting, whilst full of passion, instead of the crude and coarse style most author's opt for. This not only makes it a pleasure to read, but a perfect starting point for people new to romantic erotica, or those who find themselves cringing at some of the more vulgar terms that tend to fill this type of work. Goldilocks is a nice twist on the fairy tale, and a good fun read. As I said, the perfect bedtime story.

I have read all of the flirtatious books and really wasn't quite sure where this one was going to go. As always James has kept within the theme of the original fairy tale in a fun filled erotic adventure. These tales are delightfully written, and in my opinion very clever taking a fairy tale theme and turning it into erotica. It could have gone so disastrously wrong. I'm not a reader of erotica normally, it's all the same to me. I love these books. It's like they are my guilty pleasure. I loathe to call them erotica , but that's what they are, done with class and style. Read them now. You'll be glad you did.

Fun Twist On A Well Known Tale
Well written and easy to read. A perfect book to enjoy cover to cover, lingering over an afternoon cuppa.
Loved the characters. Loved how the adults only retelling thoroughly stayed true to the original classic. The 'too hot/too cold' interpretation made me giggle.
I'm starting at the beginning of the series now and have officially become a Jess James fan!Goldilocks

This is a modern erotic re-telling of the Goldilocks story. What a brilliant idea! The story is written well. I especially like how the author kept the original story somewhat intact. Too hot, too cold, etc. I look forward to reading some of the other fairy tale interpretations by this author.
