Rate this book
They're dangerous men. Absolute enemies. And totally hot for each other.

Two years ago, the men in Will’s unit were killed in an ambush because they were betrayed. Now Will has a chance to go after the corrupt billionaire who sold them out.
One problem: the billionaire’s bodyguard. Nobody knows what he looks like; they only know him by the trail of bodies he leaves behind.

Will their passion destroy them both?

Kit’s a hardened assassin who’ll do what it takes to protect his boss. But when Will moves on the billionaire at an elite party, things with Will and Kit take an unexpected—steamy—twist.
Now Kit has to convince Will to walk away--from his quest for justice, and from the red-hot passion that's spinning out of control.

WILL

I like my sex like I like my grenades: simple, fast, and furious. One-time use.

KIT

"It's over," I say, hoping he'll accept this. Deep down, I know he won't. Some men don't stop until they're dead.

Will is an agent for hire, a rogue assassin hoping to right a wrong. Kit's boss is the man Kit wants dead but not until he gets what he needs. The target is the same; the motives aren't.

Will hesitates a second too long. And pays for it on his knees.

Kit's legs go on for miles. Beauty is a lethal weapon.

The passion is scorching, and they've only just begun.

This prologue isn't to be missed if you're planning on reading:

I'm not sure how these authors managed to pack SO MANY of my favorite things-

•espionage
•size difference
•kink
•cross-dressing/androgyny
•begging
•enemies to lovers
•orgasm denial
•a Toppy McBosserpants MC

-into 60 pgs but they did.

I have no words for how thrilled and turned on and maybe even twitching a tiny lil bit I was while reading this. I'm looking forward to reading their forthcoming novel SO MUCH. *grunts*

Enemies With Benefits: A Prologue is a bold start to this series, indeed. One that captivated me with its naughty goodness and its espionage plot line. This is but the tip of the iceberg in their journey, one I cannot wait to see how it all comes together. Pun intended.

Needless to say, I'm already hooked and want, no need, to know more about... everything.

I have a sixth sense that there's a big guy bottoming coming my way!

And if there's some chastity and maybe a lil bondage...

A girl can hope!

True story. My list of review books is, quite frankly, REEE-DICK-CULOUS, but I can see some of those getting pushed aside for Enemies Like You. Hopefully, none of them will get butthurt.

Right now, though, I'm going to take an ice bath. Because, reasons.

3.5 Sexy Stars!

That was one hot appetizer to the main course!

What do you get when you mix an ex-military bad ass bent on revenge, with a British spy posing as one of the bad guys “protecting” said enemy? A heady original setup as these two clash and break every single damned rule!

Basically, a free teaser billed as a prologue but really, it’s just the first few chapters of Enemies like You.

I was titillated, and I’m definitely curious to see how this dynamic plays out!

4-stars.jpg (1000×250):

This prequel wasn't at all what I expected .... its was quite a surprise and I do have to say, it was also pretty HOT.

Will is an (freelance) assassin, working on an assignment for the CIA, to get revenge on the man responsable for the death of his fellow soldiers......Sergei Polzin

brothertobrother-elijah-honor-in-revengegifw500h211.gif (500×211)

Kit is Polzin's bodyguard and though he would love to see the man dead....there is something he needs before that can happen. So he won't let anyone kill his boss.

Will and Kit come face to face soon enough and both men are quite surprised about the sexual tension between them. What follows is "panty dropping " HOT.

I really enjoyed this prequal and it made me very curious about "Enemies like you". Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and seeing how hot this little number was...I have high hopes for the full novel.

Well wasn't that a nice setup for Book 1? That was surprisingly yummy, in more ways than one. It's got a great premise, and I can't wait to see where these authors take Kit and Will.

This was a great prologue to this series. These two were hot together & I'm intrigued as to where this story is going to go. I can't wait for the next one to be released.

This is free so you should scoop it up right away.

It's a well-formed-solid convex shaped- carrot for the upcoming and very promising main event. An enemies-to-lovers trope with an unthought-of change the dynamic between them in a small (?) but important and pretty damn HOT way, left me wanting more Kit and Will.

I usually don't like short books. But I really loved this prequel! It was free on Amazon and it has so many high ratings from my friends. Can't believe how much I enjoyed it. The writing was great, the characters were interesting, especially Kit. AND we get some smoking HOT scenes 🔥
I dived into this one thinking it's an MM story, and it actually is. But I was confused for a moment. Well the authors did a trick on me 😉
For 86 pages I think we get a lot of action and pretty hot scenes. Of course I want more, but I am a little worried the long length book won't be as great.

What a tasty little appetizer!

It's certainly has given me the appetite for more!
Intense, hot and full of action this was an excellent start to Ms. Chamber's new series. As no doubt intended, I was led astray by Kit's identity at the beginning. Great teaser! (Tbh I thought for a second I had misread the blurb....) and I enjoyed it, despite having to suspend belief...
If the author's aim was to create interest for Enemies with Benefits she has certainly succeeded.
I will be most happy to see where she is taking Will and Kit with this.

Great fun and very very hot.

I'm used to authors releasing a #0.5 in a series after they've released Book 1 - either as a way to "rewind" and reward readers with additional scenes of the characters they already love from the full-length novel, or, as a short story about secondary characters from Book 1 that, despite the author's original intention, demanded their own story. But Enemies with Benefits is neither of those things; it is an extended prologue - the first 8 chapters of Book 1, released as a teaser in anticipation of the full-length novel.

And it's good. It establishes the characters fully and makes you want to pre-order the shit out of the full-length novel in order to find out how these two men - who have the same goal, yet find themselves on opposite sides of this conflict - work things out. It's also well-paced, well-written and super sexy (manties, forceful blow jobs and self-gratification in the shower, oh my!).

But now that Book 1 is released, there is ZERO POINT in reading this "novella." Skip it and pick up Enemies like You instead.

Very interesting characters, especially Kit.
Surprising amount of steam for such a short length.
Not sure how I feel about the first person POV. I liked Kit's voice but I found Will's narration a little...jarring.
In any case, that was nice. Will be reading the sequel.

Absolutely loved this book and very interested in the sequel.

This is a prequel to Enemies Like You, so it's a short novella, but gives you a preview of who we're dealing with and what's about to come.

🟣 Ex military, CIA, British Intelligence
🔵 Both MMCs hired killers, one undercover
🟢 Opposites attract
🔴 Gay, bisexual
🟡 American + British English for each MMC
🌶️ Good spice

We have two very interesting, sexy MMCs here, both wanting to take down a Russian gangster, but Will is working with the CIA and has personal reasons for it, while Kit is working undercover for the British Intelligence agency, so he's the guy's bodyguard.

Kit is crossdressed as a woman at the beginning of this book and their first encounter is Will giving Kit a (almost non-con) blowjob.

"There’s that grace to her. It’s no regular kind of grace, though; it’s a predator’s grace. Fierce, swooping grace. The kind of grace that’s got teeth and talons."

🟠 Will and Kit were supposed to kill each other , but none of them do. In fact, Will finds himself staying alive at the mercy of Kit on two occasions, with Kit being a ruthless and precise killer, but Kit can't get make himself kill Will.

There's chemistry here, palpable chemistry, and the story is interesting and intense aswell.

"I’m looking at Polzin’s bodyguard, except this time he’s dressed as a guy. Not just any guy, but the most beautiful guy you ever saw, and he’s leaning on the sink with the business end of his Luger pointed right at me."

This is going to be an action romance and I can't wait to read the full length book.

Do you ever go through reading phases ? I do, and my problem is I get burnt out and often bored; with either the genre or the authors voice - and none more so than contemporary romance.
But I adore Jo Chambers writing, and her Enlightenment series is the standard by which I judge historical romance ( so there was no pressure or expectation here !)

Enemies to lovers isn't one of my favourite tropes, and I had just read an awesome spy book Last Dance of The Sugar Plum and other than the blurb I knew nothing about this prologue, so although I knew the writing would be great I actually wasn't sure if I would enjoy it.

I was wrong, I bloody loved this - its fun, exciting, well paced and left me wanting more Kit and Will - so for the second time ever I have pre ordered Enemies Like You

Also for the first time ever I actually finished a buddy read with Fra first !

Holy hell, why didn't anyone tell me about this sooner?!

This was so sizzling hot, so much fun and so very surprising! All of that and it had nuance and hints of a D/s dynamic on top?!

And then my very favorite thing, the thing that so many authors who attempt a dynamic like this seem to just not understand. You can establish the big, beefy dude as the alpha top and then have the pretty, fey thing absolutely turn his world upside. You can add a little or a lot of humiliation in there, it's a matter of taste. That's a well-worn trope, we all love reading. To me, an really good author elevates it by making the dominant character a Good Dom. A Good Dom will give the 'sub' the opportunity to pull themselves together afterward, they will give them the chance to get back on equal footing and will not indulge in a power trip.

That's a very important part of the dynamic here and that's what earned it the full five stars.

Love it and cannot wait to dive into the full book next!

Ohh, this was a verryyy interesting start to this story. This was really just a taste, I think, of what is to come, whatever that may be.

But this has me interested in Kit and Will and also fuck yes, the smut was fucking hot. Like DAMN. I can't wait until they do more than just a blowjob (and masturbation with the other looking. Mhmm, that was hOT).

This was more than anything a tease of what is to come and I do have to say it has me defINITELY wanting to read the main event ;).

Bring it! :D

A fantastic and OMG SO HAWT prequel to Enemies Like You. I love antagonist relationships and this looks to be a doozy. Two men on opposite sides of the war-one is determined to save his client while the other is determined to kill him. Intense sexual tension balances well with the dark edginess of the main conflict.

Enemies With Benefits by Annika Martin and Joanna Chambers is a Prologue for the Enemies With Benefits series, an erotic M/M novella that is smokin’ HOT and I’m glad I got it for free if for no other reason than to meet a couple of hunkalicious men, that I wouldn’t have met otherwise, that steamed up my Kindle and left me hungry for more.

This was a short quick read that I liked. Two years ago, the men in Will’s unit were killed in an ambush because they were betrayed. Now Will has a chance to go after the corrupt billionaire who sold them out. Kit’s a hardened assassin who’ll do what it takes to protect his boss. But when Will moves on the billionaire at an elite party. Kit has been deep undercover for two years, forced to protect Polzin as his bodyguard. Kit must keep the dirty Russian alive until he completes his own, secret objective. Now the pair face off in a deadly match that neither can walk away from. I liked both of these MC the sex scenes between them was hot as hell. Each man has there own reason's. I love reading Annika's books and I was happy when I found out that she was writing a M/M series. This was my first time reading Joanna's work. This was the first book of this series and I can't wait to read the next book. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

I picked up this free prologue because of the awesome reviews but when I first started reading it I was really confused. I had no idea what was going on and honestly my naivety had me making up all kinds of scenarios that made some kind of sense to me except for the obvious lol. When the whole thing played out I have to admit that I loved it and I can't wait to read the full story.

First things first ... #CoverWIN ... #seriously!

When I first heard the news that Annika had written an M/M, I totally went craaaaaaaaaaazy! I've been a huge fan since the Kinky Bank Robbers! Let me just say this woman did not disappoint with this little morsel of goodness. It's a perfect introduction to what is sure to be some seriously kinky tension, scorching hot sexy times and suspenseful story-line.

I read this in less than one hour and cannot wait to get my hands Enemies Like You!

Intriguing sneak peak into a seriously hot spy romanc

This is thrilling, it's like a little bite at the cherry when you know you want to take the whole thing.
I absolutely loved the little twist, very clever, and now I can't wait to get stuck into the full novel.

This was a perfect teaser with just enough given away and one plot line still wrapped up in a short package.
