When Jessica loses her place on the volleyball team to the beautiful Katelyn, the same girl who only months earlier stole her boyfriend, Jessica decides to retreat into her shell in an effort to maintain her sanity.

There was some promise in this book, a story about Katelyn taking Jessie's place on her uni volleyball team, then her boyfriend. True enemies to lovers, done well except for a ridiculous week they spent together in a ski cabin at a ski resort in the Dolomites in Italy buried in an avalanche, no one rescuing or even looking for them. It did have some good moments, but did not work very well in the end.

Jessica's anger at Katelyn was so funny to me, i don't know if that was intentional or not but I couldn't stop laughing, it was adorable. I also liked the fact that poor Jess was always uncomfortable around Katelyn and couldn't understand why that was. I just love it when they are clueless.
They somehow weather through, thanks to many revelations, SoupInACup, bed sharing and SPONGE BATHS!. I am really shocked at how good it was. Definitely gonna re-read.

The idea behind the story was fine, it had plenty of potential. The concept seemed a bit like Ice. Although it's incomparable when it comes to quality, because Ice was a wonderful book.

Not everything was bad. the beginning of the story was amusing and fun. The characters were okay, but the depth and especially the strange way of creating sexual tension was sometimes a letdown. Come on, to help each other with taking a sponge bad, that's one thing. But washing each others most intimate parts and then pretend that this is something common, I find that a bit strange.

maybe if it had happened later in the story, I would have understood this intimacy. But the moment was all wrong, it didn't felt realistic, that something like that would happen.

Overall an okay read. But it had much more potential, if some little details were different.

This is my first book from Bella Donnis and I'm looking forward to read "Where are you"
Before reading this I've read Ice by Lyn Gardner and I kind of compared them.
Both are great and I like it. :)
Although I was kind of confused at first between Jess and Katelyn especially with Katelyn.
I was recalling why she stole Jess boyfriend. Maybe I missed the explanation somewhere, but actually no. I just don't buy her reason. I also think that the connection was kind of forced. But all in all it was a nice quick read.

Bad ... Just ... Bad.

I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers read, but I can't see giving this book more than a single star... and I think if it were possible, I'd give it zero.

There's not one thing here that really works.

I don't believe it's the genre, there's a lot of really good lesbian erotica available, but this title just doesn't deliver. The characters are wooden and one dimensional. The story itself is bland and contrived. The whole thing reads like a bad letter to Hustler.

I don't know of the author is a male or female, but I found this title to have a "straight male fantasy" feel to it. If that's your thing, hey, all the power to you, but I just couldn't relate to the words or the characters.

I can't recommend this title, not even for the asking price of $2.99

Ok read.

Overall a pretty good read. Think of Lyn Gardner''s ICE but with 20 something volleyball players, ski trip, and an avalanche.
The story is told from Jessica's POV. Katelyn is her "nemesis" as she blames her for stealing her boyfriend and taking her spot on the volleyball team (honestly Jessica was just subbing in cause Katelyn was injured but that's not how she saw it). Anyway, they go on team ski trip and get stuck rooming together where they have to confront all their issues. Jessica's hateed for Katelyn was so strong that and really hurtful that I'm surprised Katelyn even tried. And honestly, Katelyn claims to be monogamous but twice she kisses people who are either taken or while she is seeing someone...
Anyway, free on kindleUnlimited and a decent read overall.

First of all if you're a fan of ennemies to lovers trope then it's for you, this story was good but I found it was still a bit too fast for me but i still enjoyed it.
I would have liked to see Katelyn's POV but even with only Jess's the characters were still well written, even though I think they could have been more developed.
Overall it was still a enjoyable read.

Strange book - the core was just wrong - how can a complete volleyball team disappear for 9 days without anyone noticing when they are on a 7 day holiday? - but the characters were well constructed and and if you just go with it, it's good and dandy.

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book, let's see, the story is simple, it's told from Jessica's point of view, a 20-year-old who finds her position challenged when her volleyball's team top player, Katelyn, returns after a year of recovering from a shoulder injury. Katelyn is also the one who 'stole' her boyfriend not too long ago, so she really can't stand being in her presence, and as it usually happens, they're forced to share a cabin during their team's trip to Italy and actually end up being trapped there.

Because for most of the book the characters were 'trapped' in said cabin, not a lot happened, and some things didn't make much sense to me (for example:
<> Why would Katelyn get in a relationship with James? I could understand maybe she was closeted/wanted to try, but they were together for about a year, and she already knew she liked women/had dated one, and I assume not so secretly as at least one of her teammates (Marie) seemed to know something about it. And she also said it was to spite Jessica. What? Why?

<> The sponge bath, how was that even 'normal'? Since when do 'friends' scrub each other's intimate parts? I know it was to build the 'tension', but maybe it could have been done a bit differently, and I will never believe prude and shy Jessica was confortable with that.

<> And they 'fell in love' too quickly. They went from not liking each other (well, mostly from Jessica's side), to maybe liking (or not disliking) each other, to saying "I'm in love" with you in a week! But that's fine, it's a short book, and I'm kind of used to it by now, though I still criticize it, haha.

<> These are not really things that 'didn't make sense', but since I'm already using a spoiler tag, there were a few comments I had issues with, the ones I noted:

Was this how she always dressed? – Like a lesbian?

What? First, I don't think there's such a thing, and it was only jeans and a sleeveless t-shirt.

I’m monogamous. Once I’m in a relationship then that’s it.

Maybe it's not exactly what she meant, but I found it weird because she had no issues with cheating on her boyfriend. And they didn't go further only because Jessica didn't feel sure about it. And speaking of this, neither had issues with the cheating-on-boyfriend part.

[...] her nectar was inside me now and our souls would forever be entwined.

Maybe this is just me, but I found it cringe-worthy, haha., but I still liked/enjoyed it, I think, haha. From the moment I started it I didn't want to stop reading - and it's always good when a book manages to capture my attention, I also enjoyed the tension between the characters, and I liked the characters, even if they weren't really fleshed out. So overall, for me it was entertaining.

Disappointing

I picked this to read because I had enjoyed Cari Hunter's Snowbound, and I thought this might be similar. Unfortunately I was wrong. The whole trapped scenario just seemed silly. An avalanche only partly covers a ski cabin in a ski village and two girls can't escape for ten days. We know it isn't fully covered because they can see light through the chimney. They have electricity and lights for several days. They even watch TV. Avalanche snow is quite solid. They know which way is up. Why on earth did they not just dig a tunnel out the door up to the surface the first day? People dig tunnels out their front doors all the time in heavy snow fall areas. Even if they half filled the cabin with snow by digging, it's better than freezing and starving for ten days. At least they got a bit close and gave each other a sponge bath. So this lost me pretty quickly as unrealistic. If they had been injured or trapped beneath fallen beams then it would have been more understandable they'd have to wait for rescue...but then no sponge bath in front of a fire drinking hot chocolate. For me to enjoy a book, I have to believe it is possible.

This is the second book of Sally Bryan I’ve read.

The first book of Sally was Euro Tripped I don’t think I left a review but I should have I enjoyed it. Now this book Trapped has some similarities but different and definitely has noticed Ms Bryan writing style. In both books there was the conflict of a boyfriend and the girl who discovers herself and figures out that gender isn’t an issue. What if important is the love two people share. The characters in her books are well developed and you can feel the inner struggle that her characters are presented and how they deal with them. I for one am now following Ms Brayan if that tells you anything. In other words check her out this is a good one

I have probably read this book at least a half a dozen times. It's like comfort food. It's a quick read; doesn't take itself too seriously; and is a lot of fun. There really is no erotica in this book; it's just a sweet little love story. Whenever I'm feeling a little down and need a little pick up, this is one of those few books I turn to.

I think it might be one of Bella Donnis' best work (though I have read "Where Are You?" as well, and it's not a bad read, albeit, not as strong.)

This book has an athletic angle, which is different from other lesbian romances and centers on collegiate players (a repeating theme throughout her other writings.)

Where this story is strongest is in how compact it is written. There is great description, but not overly so. The characters have spot-on dialog. American readers might find some of the grammatical nuances of her European writing style a little off-putting, but I find it endearing.

The story ends at an appropriate place. I might have wanted to know more about these characters, but I was happy where it was left.

I am always looking forward to seeing what new work Donnis produces next.

(3.8 stars) I really liked this book, it's sweet and hot at the same time. Why didn't I give it 4 stars? Well, to be honest, I'm really not into first-person books, in fact, I always dismissed them but this time I wanted to give it try. I feel there's a lot missing in a kind of book like this. The whole time while reading it I kept wishing to know the thoughts and actions of all the characters (main characters most of all). I always want to know everything that is going on their minds, and being a first-person one, It definitely fails at that. Nevertheless, it's a good reading, nice, and the sex scene was really hot and tender.

The story and writing were great up until some words that convince me this author is a man who believes lesbians are truly made, not born....and anything less than feminine looks are constructed by lesbian culture to look as gay as possible. Sorry....major letdown there.
