About the author

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.


I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. I’m back in New Zealand now, but I’m always plotting new trips. If you’d like to see some of my travel snapshots, have a look at the Travel Diary page (updated every month).

So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.

Naasir is one of the most fascinating characters in the Guild Hunter series. I was so happy when he found his mate (and I'm still hoping for them to have cubs one day despite being two different species)and seeing this little slice of life for them just warmed my heart.

Ahhh, this was a sweet interlude for Naasir and Andromeda. He tells her she must leave their aerie home at The Refuge for a few hours because he has a secret he wishes to work on. His secret is adorably sweet and showcases their unique pairing are still very much happy and in love.

My Take
I do love how straightforward Naasir is. You always know where you stand, even if he is so unpredictable. And he's so proud of Andromeda loving him, proudly anticipating having children with her. The kind of man any of us could love.

It uses third person protagonist point-of-view from Andi's perspective, so we hear everything from how she experiences it in this bit of afternoon-into-evening delight.

I gotta tell ya, I cried. This was so sweet and romantic, that I just couldn't help it. It may be a very short story, but it says so much.

The Story
It's a relaxing afternoon...until Naasir interrupts and insists that Andi has to leave. It's a secret, and Andi can't know.

The Characters
Andromeda, a.k.a., Andi, is an angel married to Naasir, a chimera who is one of Raphael's Seven.

Jessamy is a sweet angel who can't fly and who both teaches the children and maintains the history of the angels.

The Refuge is...
...home base for all the angels where they raise and educate their children.

Title
The title is all about Naasir's obsession with enjoying "Secret Things" with his mate.

This is a cute little bit of fluff about Naasir wanting to do something "secret" for Andromeda. They are a very unique pair, but their odd combination lends towards a lot of amusement. For all that Naasir is very unique (no one seems to know what exactly to classify him as), it's good that he has someone that truly understands and loves him unconditionally, and that he can return those feelings and gestures both in his own unique ways and maybe some a little more traditional.

Naasir you sweet, smexy being you. I loved this little insight to the life Naasir and Andi have at the refuge.

Naasir just wants to make his mate happy even if it means he has to try and be romantic. But just being him is enough.

I loved how Naasir tries to kick Andi out of the house so he can set up his secret for her and tells her they can’t rut. 😂

Nassir kicks her out of their Refuge aerie, telling her she cannot come back till dinner time..
She arrives to heavenly scents and is delighted that Nassir has cooked her a romantic meal complete with candles on the table😍
