All three of these novellas were delights! My individual reviews are at each novella's page. I'll be rereading these books, definitely. So good!

A Promise Kept
This novella provided a sweet and sometimes poignant look into the ups and downs of the first year of marriage for a couple facing the beginnings of WWII. I found that the portrayal of marriage not being all rainbows and roses but rather two people learning to adjust, to lean on each other, and to trust God in everything, quite refreshing.

I think this novella was probably my favorite about the Miller siblings. Not only did I really enjoy the characters but I also found myself learning a lot of truly fascinating history surrounding their vital and highly classified work. Add in the emotional seesaw of romance at a most inconvenient time and you have the makings for a great story.

So, sports have never been my thing, not even a drop of interest. But...the reason that I really wanted to read this novella is that I've been fascinated for quite awhile by the girls softball/baseball leagues that sprang up while the boys were away during WWII.
The negativity that Kat, and the real women, faced because of their gender is shocking by today's standards but through the adversity they helped pave the way for today's girls and women to follow their dreams toward whatever career they wish.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed the baseball details and scenes, but, it was Kat and Jack that really stole my heart. I just loved them both! She's a bit naive, he's a bit jaded, but they are perfect for each other. Whether you are a sports fan or not this novella is a fun read and a great finish to the collection. Batter up!

First book had some good setups but dropped all of them poorly. Their British ward won’t stand for the pledge of allegiance and doesn’t make friends and we have a cliffhanger or two at a chapter break of notes from the teacher? Don’t worry, 2 chapters later we will offhandedly find out she brought s girl home from school to bake cookies and now everything is fine. Art has a tension with his imposing grandfather and moves to a different city to strike out on his own, only to have his rich grandfather buy out his employer. Art struggles for a but, prays approximately once, decides to be humble but never talk to his grandfather to work out his issues. 2 stars.
Second book had some high stakes which I enjoyed reading about (will they get this machine to crack the axis codes and help end the war), brought the period piece of the historical romance better to life. I was annoyed at the token obstacle girlfriend (“but Paige is the perfect woman” etc etc) to be so quickly written out after being dragged out for so long. The author fell into a few of the same traps as the first novel, as somehow Mark gets Evelyn to be taken off duty under suspicion of being a spy, but this is also dismissed with little fanfare. 3 stars for this one, most solid of the 3 in my opinion.

Ohio Brides is three novellas each one about a sibling in the Miller family during World War II. Josie marries and moves away from Dayton where she has to adjust to life in a strange city away from her family. Mark works on a secret project with NCR which exempts him from military service. Kat is the younger sister who plays on the All-American Girls Professional Softball League. I am not usually a big fan of that era but these stories were all interesting. I recommend Ohio Brides to anyone who enjoys World War II stories. I received my copy of Ohio Brides from Cara Putman in a giveaway. This is my honest opinion.

I am not dignifying the third short story in this by even trying to finish it because the couple we're supposed to root for is composed of a 17 year old girl and a 25 year old man, who keep reminding himself she's too young.
The first story was a story. It happened.
The second story wasn't as bland as the first, but I was glad when it was done because neither of the two main characters had much depth nor were they particularly likable.

Boring. I read the first story, but didn't have the interest to get through the other two, though I skipped through them.

Went back and forth between three and four stars, so let's just say 3.5 stars.
I loved the setting and time period--I'm usually really interested in books set during WW2--and it was set in Ohio.
The book is split into three stories. I wasn't a huge fan of the first one, but I really enjoyed the second and third ones. I was surprised by the Christian emphasis in the books. Not a bad thing, just didn't expect it.

This is actually a compilation of three shorter stories that all tie together (all siblings.) I enjoyed the first story most because it finally was a romance based on a married couple. It is hard to find christian romance that isn't based on people that just meet or are dating. The second and third stories were good but didn't appeal as much to me at this time in my life. The last one just seemed too copy cat of "A League of their Own"

This book was very enjoyable! I love the different things that these girls were involved in! Like the WAVES and All-Girl Baseball team! Really cool to read! There was never a dull moment in this book! I highly recommend and you will surely enjoy it!

liked the first story, thought the second was interesting because of the WAVES, the third was too familiar, it was too much like the movie A League Of Their Own.

3 books in 1... the second one is the best of the three in my opinion. But none of them were that great. A 3 star rating was probably a bit generous.

3 stories in one book. I liked the first story the best. But overall light entertainment and includes families of faith.
