While I loved the Kiss of Death series, I can not share the same feelings with the Collateral one.
How many times can a heroine be kidnapped and ruthlessly raped?
It was a drawn out and farfetched soap opera.
In the end, I liked Raphael. Anna, was selfish, badly influenced by her bitch sister Una, and didn’t impress me in the slightest.
And the ‘eggs’ twist towards the end burned almost all of my brain cells. 🙄

What a conclusion!!!!
I loved it.
Lauren, babe, you did it again...
But I'm actually partial and biased LOL, cause you see, I freaking love Una, and she's in this story, more dangerous than ever, she's also a bit too determined and robotic but I guess that's what being an assassin is like ;)
So, Anna and Rafe, they were apart in the beginning of the book, while Una spent time with Anna trying to "upgrade" her to more resilient and tough level BUT that's where Anna surprised me - she's a different kind of strong. She's more human in compassion yet resilient in her need for vengence and then when Una enables that she finds herself at the crossroads and turmoils and guilty conscience while she's trying to re-build herself.
BUT actually the only time she has ever been the strongest was with Rafe. And he wants her away from him, safe from the shitstorm coming his way. The cartel war he started for vengence, retaliation, for Anna...
and when they actually cross paths on their vengeful rampage, they are both different yet the same, their love is just more...
and their ways are intertwined with so much violence, murder, guilt yet the decisions Anna makes in the impossibly inhuman situation of taking sides and choosing the right way, when there isn't any, is a true dark place of their existence and acceptance...
So, it's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of LP Lovell's. She's one of my absolute favorite people in the whole world of writing. And I not only, cherrish and admire her writing skills, cause she's bloody fantastic in her narrative magic and portrayal of characters and the depths of thier emotional and physical transofrmations in suspenseful, action packed, fast paced and vile situations, I also happen to know her in person. And she's equally stunning as her writing magic!
So, sayin it all, would make me not only biased but also a bit irrational LOL, but fuck it, I absolutely stand behind every word, cause I found all the things mentioned above, gratifying and satisfying concerning the action, emotional span, reactions, passion through out this story.
And I had a bloody fantastic fun!
p.s. and hell yes, I need Sasha's story like NOW!!!!

I'm totally addicted to that series and Have Me is a fabulous conclusion to Anna and Rafael's story.
Fast paced with a lot of action, that last installment doesn't lack of rhythm. It's definitely a book I couldn't put down.
It starts off where things ended in Hold Me, Anna left Mexico to a more secure location: New-York, with Una. Hurt and lost, Anna need to find a purpose in life other than Rafael. Under Una's tutoring and with her help, she finds herself in the path of revenge.
Seduction, knives, guns, Anna has the means to take out the most dangerous men.
Hold me is more focused on Anna's journey to find who she is and who she wants to be. Her struggles broke my heart and it left me wondering where Rafael could stand in all of this, if he would stand at all! The new Anna is clearly influenced by Una, which annoyed me a little: is it how she is meant to live by herself and to be safe? Fortunately, and in spite of a more than bumpy road, I loved the outcome. I felt for them, and Rafael and Anna are my favorite couple of the two series.

This book was a mess. I enjoyed previous works by LP Lovell but I don’t quite know what the purpose of this one is.
Sure it is a conclusion, which is full of unnecessary drama and “plot twists”, rushed actions and dumb decisions. We could’ve gotten a conclusion in the second book and there would’ve been no reason for a third one dragging the story on and on.

Have Me is book 3 in the Collateral series and while I enjoyed it, I didn't love it as much as I was hoping for. I was bored and the book felt chaotic and all over the place. I understand Rafael was in the middle of a war but I was hoping for more of him with Anna. While I agreed that Anna needed to find herself away from Rafael, I didn't like who she tried to be. Towards the end of the book a certain situation arises that I thought felt to convenient but then bam a decision was made and it was brutal. Overall it's a really good series and I can't wait for Sasha's book.

This series has kept me on the edge of my seat because you never know what to expect and never know who is the next to meet their end.
Book three leaves us where book two left off. Rafe is in the middle of a war and Anna is in the middle of her own war. This book focuses a lot on her journey. She needs to figure out who she is now that she has found her sister and away from the one person who made her feel safe. Anna grows a lot in this book, even when I don't agree with methods. All of her wrongs are moving her toward a new life. She grows with Rafe and now she grows into something more with Una as her tutor.
Rafe can't get a handle on this war that is raging, it's more carnage and one more dead end. Without his light, he becomes something darker and way more dangerous than I realized he was. This book brings all the characters to light. Their flaws, their strengths, and their weaknesses. Sometimes the truth is ugly and in this case really, really bloody.
Have Me is packed full of more action and a few more surprises. This puts all of the pieces together, in all of its messy glory. The biggest question is can these two survive what they have become... Interesting storyline, dark suspense, and a little bit sexy, this trilogy had a bit of everything including a lead into who is next in the line-up.

Rafael and Anna's story...
My gawd!!! Wow!!! Totally mind blowing. The story and the characters are good but there are some scenes that are kind of disappointing but that's ok. I totally understand because not all have a very good ending for some characters (minor).
What I love about this book is that I got to see Morte and Nero again!!! And Sasha too (can't wait for his story!!!)!!! Anyway, overall the story is good. Love the complexity and it keeps me guessing on what will happen next. Loved it!

I really enjoyed the first two books but this one was such a disappointment. I had to skim 60% or more because it was boring and repetitive, and then we get to the brief segments of the meat of the story- Anna trying to find herself- and I felt like I just had to stand by and watch the author destroy Anna, culminating in Anna's decision at the end of the book which I could not reconcile AT ALL. And honestly, I don't feel like it was true to Anna. Even after how she changed during this book, that decision is NOT what the "real" Anna would have done IMO. It goes against the one thing she has consistently been sure about in all 3 books.
I also found myself hating Una. And apparently Una is the heroine of her own trilogy which I haven't read, and normally I'd be psyched to read another series in the same world taking place before this one. But now I can't, or rather won't, because LP Lovell made me hate Una. So thanks for that too.

Most of this book was completely unnecessary. Just drama for the sake of drama. The last book could have made a little longer and wrapped everything up without all the bullshit. Why the hell did Una want Anna to come to NYC to be safe just so she could put her in one dangerous situation after another? I liked Una in her series, but she was such a bitch in this. I hated it that Anna acted OOC. I would have preferred it if she learned to be strong without being a heartless assassin. Anna's kindness was what made her so appealing. Without it I didn't like her very much. There were two times at the end where I thought the old Anna would shine through, but it didn't happen. So disappointing.

The level of manipulation that Una have towards Anna was hypocritical, Anna do all that cause felt that was her needs, but as Rafael told her, wasn't hers, was all the freaking manipulation, and the fact that Rafael never told her that take separate ways was the freaking genious idea of Una, tell you more of what of person is Rafael than Una. To Anna, all the Cartel was her family and no Una, and ends up with the Cartel dealing with the rescue of the baby just for her. Cartel done everything for their Lady Boss's baby, not the All Mighty Angel of Death when she tried to convince Anna not to feel anythibg for her baby. In this part I really disgust Una's hypocritical sense of moral. 4 stars for not a well deserve ending, it was for a better one and... At the end just deliver.

This is the insane conclusion to the Collateral series and it’s intense, tragic, and beautiful, too. I love seeing this strong version of Anna. I have enjoyed her character arc throughout this trilogy. I love Rafe’s devotion to protecting and loving her.
This has been a great trilogy. If you like mafia reads/dark romance, you’ll want to read this trilogy, as well as the Kiss of Death trilogy, which follows Anna’s sister, Una. These have all been awesome books!

OMG!
What a finale! I read all night till 2 am to see what would happen. Shocking turn at the end. I didn’t want it to end. I got a tad frustrated with both of them. Una made me mad too. Lots of action, blood, drama, and sex. I am hoping we get books for Lucas, Sam, and Carlos!

3.5 stars. I really wished this was better. The whole journey to this book was so damn good. I didn't enjoy the fact that Rafe and Anna spent too much time apart. I know she had to find herself and grow but seriously she had Una there influencing her too much. I didn't like it. Una worked my nerves so bad that I almost forgot I liked her series. Ugh! There was too much emphasis on her to begin with. There was things I wished went a bit smoother in this book. I'm glad they finally got the ending they deserved.

I’m so disappointed right now. Let me just say I loved Anna and Raphael since Una’s books. And the last 2 books were awesome. But man this one just ruined it all. I get why Raphael pushed her away. He’d lost his mother figure and he was scared. And I get why Anna was upset since he broke her trust, although he was honest in that he said it was for her safety. Understandable in the circumstances but still crappy for Anna. But then she just got so selfish and didn’t care what she did or said that would hurt him. She kept promising him to be honest and then breaking His trust and going behind his back and constantly being pushed by Una. And oh dear God Una pissed me off. Why wouldnt she accept their love? And kept telling them their feelings werent real?? It was so disrespectful. Especially because then she’d go and be all lovey with Nero (who I still love!). And she bullies Anna to come with her and goes on about her finding herself away from Raphael. SHE WASNT DEFINED BY HIM! Why couldnt she find herself while being with Raphael? Who she loves and is loved by? Who only ever built her up on the strength he saw in her? Unlike Una who forces her to do things she’s uncomfortable and guilts her into everything???? Una barely showed any softness or love towards her and treated her like crap when Anna was supposed to be one of her weaknesses. I did like that she wanted her to get revenge and try to get some closure. But she was so clinical and forceful and judgemental of her sister. It pissed me off that she forced her to find herself away from Raphael but all she did was try to force Anna to become like herself. And ugh Anna. By the end she was so selfish and using everyone. She leaves Raphael again and then calls him up as soon as she needs him again because Una wont help her. So annoying. And the baby thing was awful because it was so forced like she needed a baby for a hea. And what they did was the lesser of two evils but gd awful. So fucked up. AND again she didnt tell him her plans. Ughhh. They were barely together throughout the book and her character was completely ruined and by the end I didnt even care about their supposed hea.
I only like Raphael but even he got annoying because why was he taking all of this crap. Anna not talking to him and being cold and so wishy washy. He pushed her away but she couldve fought for them too. Maybe not at the start when she had a right to be mad but definitely once she was back and he wouldve seen and they could have built a strong relationship together.
Maybe I’ll pretend this book doesnt exist because it ruined everyone but Nero.

Maybe not at the start when she had a right to be mad but definitely once she was back and he wouldve seen and they could have built a strong relationship together.

What an end to an incredible series!!!
Death, torture, destruction, explosions, passion, angst, fear, hope, and yes a happily ever after! This series has it all!
This book continues on after book 2. Anna leaves to go to New York with her sister Una. Rafe sent her away fearing for her safety with him. His fears rule his head, he had to send her away as she is his biggest weakness and his enemies would use her against him. He just wants to keep her safe.
Anna feels broken. She's been through so much but Rafe rejecting her and sending her away is the one thing she can't cope with. Her sister Una is having none of her moping around though. She insists Anna becomes stronger and starts to train her as an assassin so that she is no longer a victim but can fight her way out. Anna does get stronger but at what cost to her fragile mind? She's not Una. She can't shut off her emotions and she can never be easy with killing someone.
Rafe has a huge war on his hands. He has to destroy the Sinola in order for Anna to be safe. He goes on a huge killing spree. Out for revenge he won't stop. He's struggling under the darkness and without Anna his only light is gone.
Anna has a lot of time to think and decides she want's some revenge of her own. She has the same enemy as Rafe and their paths cross once again. Can Rafe keep her safe? Can Anna overcome her demons and find herself? Is there any future that ends with them together?
Talk about actions packed!!! My stomach was in knots i almost felt sick!! The twists and turns, the death and destruction, the push and pull between Anna and Rafe. Gah!!! So exciting!!!
I do love Anna. She's so strong. After some of the things she's been through you would think she would have checked out by now but nope she keeps picking herself back up again. My heart bled for her when Rafe sent her away. I felt her hurt. After finding someone to finally love, to be sent away like an unwanted present must have hurt so bad. I know she had Una but well... Una is Una there are not a lot of feelings there unless it's for Dante or Nero. She couldn't understand Anna at all so she fell back onto making Anna physically strong. I think Una struggled to cope with Anna so she often lashed out because she had no clue what to say. Poor Anna was pulled in different directions and you could feel it in her inner monologue. You were taken along for Anna's emotional turmoil and i loved it so much. Seeing her become the person she ends up as, although a massive struggle, was amazing.
Rafe... ahhhhhhh sexy Cartel boss, badboy with a heart for his girl!! I love him. I sometimes felt everything he did and felt like pulling my hair out on more than one occasion!! What a journey for him too. He never expected Anna and i love she took him by surprise. Through the whole series he did nothing but try and look after her and keep her safe. He got her, he saw into her soul and the little warrior that she was and i loved this about him. His relationship with Samuel and Carlos showed that he was a good guy? i guess lol Anna had her sister but Rafe had his two best friends that were closer than brothers. It showed a different side to him but to be honest all sides of him was amazing!! I love him!! I want him to wrap that tatted hand round my throat and to take me for ride!! lol
The writing was bang on for me. The push, the pull, the roller-coaster emotions throughout made you feel every high and every low. LP Lovell knows how to tie you up in knots and then tortuously undo everyone to give you an ending you didn't know you wanted. Just brilliant.
This whole series has kept me on my toes and dangling from a string. No clues how it was gonna end, and speaking of which. That ending!! PERFECTION!!!!
The additional characters in this series just make the whole thing work. You wanted Lucas to be ok, you want him to have his own story. You fall for Carlos and how protective he is of Rafe and his brother. You want more of him and his story. You swoon over Samuel and desperately want him to have someone to keep him warm at night! This... This is what makes it a great series.
I can't wait for Sasha's story. That one is gonna be a real hum dinger!! lol Does he have emotions? Only time and books will tell!! lol
LOVE IT!! Highly recommend!!! I feel like I've become a vital member of the Cartel and Mafia and now need to watch out for them all!! Bring it on!!

This is the conclusion of the Collateral series and thank GOD because my heart couldn't take much more.
Anna is adrift. In all the storm she endured, she was always sure of Rafe's love. Now even that is taken from her. Her trust is broken, she doesn't know who she is anymore. She needs a purpose, and she finds it in the form of Una. Una takes her anger and channels it into a fighter, a killer, an avenger of sorts. Still, Anna is struggling to find her centre. She believes in what she is doing, taking revenge on the men who made her what she is, rescuing girls who are slaves to the Masters, but she is still standing on the knife's edge of right and wrong...
In this book, we see Rafael in his element - the Boss of the Jaurez cartel. He has declared war against the cartel from where he found Anna. It is both personal and also as a simple means of business. From what we have seen so far, everything he did had Anna as a centre of it all. But now that she is gone, the monster is out to play. He can feel his moral compass slipping away, but he has to do what he has to, to win the war for his people.
This book is filled with internal dilemmas. Anna moving forward to being a person she thinks she needs to be, but also Rafe "pulling" her back to the girl she was when she was found. She is struggling with his betrayal of letting her go, while he's trying to juxtapose his image of her to who she is now. There were points in the book where I struggled to understand Anna's views and some points where I became frustrated with Rafe's refusal to accept her as she is. But the last few chapters really showed us that only Rafe really understood the real Anna and the ultimate twist opened Anna's eyes into the world she's been a part of, and the sacrifices Rafe, Nico and the rest of the "bad guys" have to make in order of the greater good. It showed her that in order for her to be in Rafe's life, where are some bitter pills she needs to swallow and that there is more of grey areas in life rather than just black and white.
This series has taken me through the wringer. There were so many twists and turns, so much angst that my heart is still recovering. L.P Lovell does a brilliant job of showcasing that life is full of grey areas. There is no clear cut definition of the good guys and bad guys. Bad guys can be good in their own way.
I am in love with Rafael's character. His physical strength and outside shell hide a gentleness and integrity that was really needed to bring the real Anna to the surface. Anna's story broke my heart. Her struggle to find trust, and just that the cusp of believing in her freedom, she's dragged back to hell and then her struggle to find a place in this world is truly gut retching. This is a series that I would 100% recommend that everyone should read because like Rafe and Anna, the author will break your heart and then remould it into something beautiful.

Right let me start by saying I loved the first 2 books.
I loved how much Rafe loved Anna. And how much he wanted to protect her. And how innocent and kind and gentle she was right the way through the last two books.
Now. Una. Una was an absolute bitch the entire way through This book. Making her sister believe she didn’t really love rafe and he didn’t love her. But she was happy to be in love herself with her family. She wanted Anna to find herself, but what she really wanted was to make her like her. It was painful to read and at times I wanted to put the book Down.
I didn’t understand the end. It was made clear in the last book that she can’t have children. And yet her sister told her she had a daughter born from surragocy. But she wouldn’t help her. What was the point in telling her. Just to hurt her further!!! Then they didn’t bother asking if they harvested more eggs of hers!
Anna in this book annoyed me. She allowed her sister to manipulate her to do her bidding. Turn her into a killer. But could accept that rafe loved her and sent her away to protect her. For her to have a mental breakdown over killing a teenager who would have killed her. Yet kill 20 innocent women. To save them from being used as breeders. And feel nothin. But still hide it from Rafe.
I just can’t with this book. Everything annoyed me. The miscommunication. Una’s determination to do anything she wants and ignore everyone else cause she’s this big bad assassin.

Well poor Anna isn’t through the worst of it yet. She was rescued but is now dealing with the horrors that happened to her while she was in captivity. Rafe desperately wants them to connect like they had in the past, but she is numb and her walls are fortified. We see her go from the defeated, abused, young woman that was rescued to a warrior who wants to bring justice to the feet of the men who wronged her. Only she may be stronger physically, but mentally and emotionally she is hollow and crumbling. This couple have to endure so many setbacks, so many obstacles and the angst is high in this one.
Lauren gets you right in the thick of the action. She makes you witness everything, feel everything, yearn for the peace that Rafe so desperately wants Anna to have.
This is trauma, but it is redemption with a side of revenge. I loved it. This is the concluding part to Anna and Rafaels story so the previous two books do need to be read first.
Have Me picks up not long after Hold Me ended and Anna is feeling completely lost. I’ve always liked Anna but in this book I found myself growing increasingly annoyed with her. I always found an inner strength to her character and I was disappointed in the path she choose to help her move on from Rafael. Her sister Una really got on my nerves. I understood what she was trying to do, loved that she cared enough to try and help Anna but I just couldn’t warm up to her. I found her controlling and cold (and yes I am aware that her character is supposed to be like that 😉) but I struggled with the constant cold front she exudes.
Rafael frustrated me with his stubbornness (I’m sensing a pattern here). He did the exact opposite of what I wanted and while I adore his character, I could’ve slapped him at times.
I enjoyed reading Have Me even though it’s not my favourite out of this trilogy. The characters, although frustrating at times, are easy to connect with especially knowing their stories and pasts, and like the previous books in this series it’s got plenty of action to keep you turning those pages to find out how Anna and Rafaels story ends. Overall, Have Me is good conclusion to a great series.

I didn’t mind this book. I would have hoped that Anna and Rafe would have been together a little more tho. The spent the majority of the book separated because, I’m not even sure why, tbh.
I gotta admit I didn’t love Anna’s character development in this one. I think I preferred the idea of the two sisters being more opposite, and I kinda hated how Una basically guilted Anna into becoming an assassin. I liked them being seperate people. But most of the book was trying to get Anna to become Una. And I think what bothered me most about it was that it didn’t seem needed, or even what Anna wanted, certainly not Rafe. I was also kinda hoping that Anna’s ‘purpose’ that literally everyone kept going on about, would be to free sex slaves and maybe even start like a house for battered women, that type of thing. That’s what I thought everything was building up to. She would be the light everyone kept saying she was. Instead like nothing happened. She didn’t actually progress, if anything she went backwards. And I feel like giving her a baby at the end of the book was a bit of a cop out - especially since the Russians stole her eggs and she didn’t even know about it til like 3 chapters from the end.
I just feel like Anna didn’t need to have the exact same ending that Una did. Especially one that didn’t help her or make much sense for her.

L.P. Lovell can write amazing romantic suspense. I know as a reader, I can always depend on her to have me sitting on the edge of my seat. Have Me, book 3 of the Collateral series, is no exception and this book continues the mafia element as well.
