Mall Santas aren’t supposed to be hot

Hunter Adams is hopelessly adrift after college. He’s still a virgin, can’t find a real job, and has no clue what to do with his life. In desperation, he returns to his humiliating old job as an elf at the Santa's Village in his hometown's dying mall. The Santa on the job is an unexpectedly sexy lumberjack, twice Hunter's size and age. He makes Hunter feel very naughty—too bad he's grumpy and intimidating.

Years after the tragic death of his partner, Nick Spini has his beagle and long, hard days on his Christmas tree farm. That’s plenty. But he can’t refuse a loyal friend’s plea for help and finds himself filling in as Santa at the local mall. Despite Nick's attempt to stay aloof, the beautiful, anxious young man playing elf brings out his long-dormant daddy instincts.

When a surprise blizzard traps them alone in Nick’s isolated forest home, their attraction burns even brighter. Will they surrender to the sizzling connection between them and find the release and comfort they crave?

Santa Daddy is a holiday gay romance from Keira Andrews featuring an age gap, steamy m/m first times, daddy role-playing and light spanking, Christmas romance feels, and of course a happy ending.

REREAD DECEMBER 2020

I haven't stopped thinking about Nick and Hunter (and Ella, the attention-loving beagle) since their cameo appearance in Keira Andrews' most recent holiday story, Merry Cherry Christmas.

Seeing them going strong made me want to reread Santa Daddy, and this sexy morsel of a story once again put a smile on my face.

See original review below:

~4.5~

This is an adorably kinky story!

📌 One smokin' hot Santa

📌 One naught elf

📌 A dog named Ella

📌 A Christmas tree farm

Yes, this book has ALL that and MORE, including spanking, licking, and ... well, let's just say Hunter is a very eager virgin and he's been a bad, bad boy.

Santa, as played by Nick (terribly fitting, no?), doesn't like his elf assistant. Not initially, anyway. And that's all on Nick, who's grumpy and a bit judgmental.

When Hunter is late AGAIN, Nick assumes the worst, then feels like an arse when he realizes Hunter almost froze to death because Nick wouldn't listen.

Fortunately, Nick warms Hunter right up, and then some.

Gah, I love smexy snowed-in stories!

Thumbs up for the age gap, light Daddy kink (this is how I like D/s: mild and limited to the bedroom), Hunter's awesome mom, Nick's friend John who cheers him on, and the lovely epilogue.

The angst is minimal. Hunter is a little insecure and a master of getting in his own way, and Nick has loved, lost, and is scared to love again. But Hunter stands up for himself and gets his man!

I highly recommend this sweet morsel of a holiday story. It's perfectly fluffy and steamy too.

I love, love, love Keira Andrews, and I love, love, love daddy kink, so I was sure I was going to LOVE Santa Daddy. I didn't.

This book really should have been a sure thing, but I think the novella format got in its way. I don't think you can just jump into daddy kink so cavalierly, and the transition from hello! to yes, daddy was too abrupt and awkward for me to believe.

I think this kind of story needed a slow burn. The plot felt smooshed down to fit the page count, and I didn't get a good sense of the main couple together. Sure, the sex was hot (this story even had a VIRGIN <--- my kryptonite!), but Hunter went from virgin to sex-pot/kink-pro in two seconds flat. It was too much, too fast for me.

I didn't buy the romance, but the story still had it's bright moments. Still, it wasn't nearly up to the level I've come to expect from Keira Andrews.

I love this book.

------------------------------------

Keira Andrews doing daddy kink? Oh yeah!!

Hunter is a 23 year old college graduate desperately looking for a job. He hasn’t had a lot of luck in that department so far, so he accepts a job offer in his home town to play Santa’s elf. The mall is closing down, but Hunter wants to give it his best shot to make the final year a happy one for all the kids visiting Santa.

Unfortunately the new Santa is such a grumpy bastard, that Hunter isn’t sure he can pull off playing a happy elf. No matter how hot Nick is.

Nick is 46 years old and likes his solitude. That's why he loves being out on his tree farm by himself. But now he has to play Santa. But he couldn't turn down one of his only friends when he needed a mall Santa. Now all he needs to do is get through the next few days, and ignore the hot young guy in the tight elf costume.

When Nick's friend arranges for Hunter to come work at Nick’s tree farm for a few days, Hunter isn’t sure he is all that welcome. But Nick needs the help, so he’s going to try his very best. No matter how unpleasant the man’s attitude is…..

When I first saw this book I was all over it, but when I started it I wasn’t so sure I was going to like Nick. Nick was a complete dick at first. But… then we suddenly got some lovely hurt/comfort thrown in and I was in my happy place. So while I didn’t like Nick at first, once he let go of his misconceptions about Hunter, things really started to look up. These guys had all the chemistry!

I’ve read my fair share of daddy kink books this past year and some only touch on the subject briefly by throwing in a ‘daddy’ every once in a while and others are full on age-play. Now, this daddy kink was pretty tame (yet HOT!), where Hunter basically calls Nick Daddy in the bedroom and gets bossed around. The rest of their relationship was devoid of any power exchange, for those of you worried about this (I just like it all…).

This book gave me all the warm holiday fuzzies. Add in some daddy kink and I was a very happy girl.

Hmmm...hummm...well, I'm a fish outta water here...I have finally read a Keira Andrews book that I didn't love. I knew it was bound to happen, she's not my first favorite-list-author to create a book that wasn't a perfect match for me.
What it boils down to...
I loved Hunter.
I loved Nick.
I loved the Christmas tree farm. I even loved the dog.
I did NOT love the daddy kink. Which, this was my first time. Huh? Who knew it would bother me?!
I enjoyed the age-gap. I enjoyed the relief in the dom/sub relationship. But, the daddy/boy roles gave me uncomfortable shivers. Each to their own but now I know, it's not for me.
I certainly didn't hate it but I surely didn't love it.
And that ending? So sweet!

Yet another reminder of why Keira Andrews has been one of my favorite authors for a very long time already. 🥰 More often than not, she always nails her stories. There’s not a book that I hate from her. Usually, I either love it or I really like it. This is a very fun and heartfelt story between a nervous virgin and a lonely recluse man. It was the perfect combination between sexy and heartwarming and I loved every single second reading it! 😉

After his partner suddenly passed away from a very tragic accident 8 years ago, Nick has become a very lonely and recluse man living all alone on a Christ tree farm. And now, he has to very unwillingly volunteer as Santa Claus, the epitome of merry and joy, (see the irony there? 😂) at their soon-closing local mall and there he met a very enticing, attractive and rather clumsy elf, Hunter, with a bubble butt. 😁 It was clash of the Titans from the very beginning. Despite their scorching sexual tension, these two couldn’t be more different in their personalities. Yet, they share a rather delicious and scandalous tendency they both keep to themselves, Hunter the virgin elf with the bubble butt wants a Daddy and Nick the Grimch/Santa looooooves to play Daddy. 😉 So it’s only a matter of time this mischievous elf falls into the lap of very sexy Santa Daddy, totally and unapologetically pun intended. 😂👏 And who knows? A Christmas miracle really is waiting for both of them in the end!

I loved everything about this book! From the moment they first met to how they became lovers to how they got a very merry HEA in the end. And did I mention about a rather scandalous dalliance in the Santa village itself? You naughty miss Keira! 😂 I love you so much for that scene. 🥰And the sex? Hot Damn!!!! That was very erotic and smoking-hot! 🔥 Really! This was an impeccably written a holiday novella with many of my catnip tropes. A shy yet kinky virgin, a sexy and gruff Santa who’s just rediscovering the joy of love, popping the butt cherry and of course, daddy play! Yum! 😋 And oh, don’t forget a very playful and affectionate dog! They just make the stories that much better. 🥰 And it was beautiful to witness how Hunter made Nick whole and happy again. Loved, loved and loved it! 💙 *Happy sigh* I’m just so contented now. 😌

That sad, old, scheduled for demolition mall had one last Christmas miracle left in her dilapidated Santa Village.

Sometimes instalove works for me. This was one of those times. True, if age gaps, kink and a grumpy lumbersexual are in the offing chances are high I'm going to enjoy it. But it was the fluffiness that won me over. And the dog. Who can resist a cute (somewhat bossy) beagle who LOVES all things bacon?

It began as just chemistry and heat but over the course of the story real feelings formed between Nick and Hunter despite the significant age gap between them. They are good for each other and that warmed my heart. They have fun together. Hunter softens Nick's rough edges with his sass and liveliness and Nick gives Hunter a sense of purpose and works wonders on his self-esteem.

Hunter is floundering and on the cusp of settling for a life he doesn't want. Nick, on the other hand, loves his tree farm and all that it entails but it's become daunting not to mention lonely maintaining it alone after the untimely death of his partner. It was unexpected that Hunter would find manual labor so rewarding but sometimes life throws you curve balls.

Curve balls in the form of a hot, lumbersexual daddy who owns a Christmas tree farm and works a Santa outfit like a Details photoshoot. Truthfully, I could've done without the daddy bit. It was awkward and I would've been fine with them being a bit kinky or liking it rough. Regardless, the sex was hot! Though I've come to expect nothing less from Keira Andrews.

However, what made it memorable and a likely reread was the sweet way both these men found a home and a life in an unexpected place that they were willing to take a chance on. It happened fast for them and that appealed to me simply because it was clear how smitten they were and how much they wanted to be together.

Recommend to those looking for a low angst, lighthearted, kinky, sexy and fluffy holiday read.

This makes the eighth book I have read by Ms. Andrews and every one has been wonderful. This story of Nick (Santa Daddy) and Hunter was just delightful and I have to say it was beyond scorching hot as well. The whole Daddy/boy angle is something I have been part of from both sides and was done beautifully by the author. As is usual for Ms. Andrews, her characters here are complex and interesting. She always provides incredible backstory for them so you not only get to know them thoroughly but you care what happens to them. For Nick this was especially important in this story because his past explains so much of his thoughts and actions. I loved the fact that we got to see huge development and progress for Hunter with his confidence. There is a scene near the end of the book where Hunter reacts and takes a stand and I was wanting to give him a standing ovation, cuz it is something the Hunter of Chapter One would have never been able to do. Once again Ms. Andrews has crafted a book more than worthy of one read and I look forward to enjoying this one many times in the future!

This was just the warm, cozy, steaming-hot cup of deliciousness I needed this Christmas reading season.

Not usually one for daddy kink, I was easily seduced by the whole thing when written in the capable and talented hands of Ms. Andrews.

Nick, the older, grumpier, arguably lonely tree-farm proprietor, was the absolute perfect match for fresh-out-of-college, sweet-as-sugar, delectably inexperienced Hunter.

Their twenty-plus-year age-gap was only a mere inconvenience when dealing with emotional and sexual chemistry this divine. I was a bit hesitant going in, but Nick and Hunter’s story was absolutely delightful—and just the right amount of HOT AS HELL.

Beyond the age-gap and daddy kink vibes, this Christmastime romance also had delicious first times, warm feels, and a trope-y (but welcomed) forced proximity set-up that had me squirming in pure delight. What more could one ask for this Christmas!?!

Oh boy. I'm pretty stunned that the story of sexy Mall Santa aka Christmas tree lumberjack Nick and his elf aka boy toy Hunter did not work for me at all.

Sure, the whole set-up screamed 'Christmas Romance' like crazy, but sadly it fell totally flat.

I can't put my finger on it, but I guess it's my general dislike of dom/sub relationships and their daddy/son thing is too close to that type of relationship for me.

Also, Nick is grumpy, unfriendly and totally overbearing. It's just luck that Hunter even survived this story. He could have died early on and it's certainly not any of Nick's doing that things went the way they did.

Of course, he tries to redeem himself and be a good 'daddy' after all, but seeing him through Hunter's eyes, I seriously wonder why Hunter doesn't find him hostile and cold. Sure, Nick is a hunk. A picture book lumberjack, but his general grumpiness and his constant desire to teach Hunter a lesson, as if the young man wasn't capable of making his own decisions really riled me up.
I understand that some romances work well with that power imbalance or whatever you want to call it, but I'm not a fan of that kind of theme.

Even Nick's sad history couldn't warm me up to him and that's really surprising, since I would usually be all over a brooding, hot MC like him. Weird.

Also, I have hardly ever found a romance where the theme of a dead lover talking inside the MC's head to get him to open up to a new guy ever worked.

Still, the sex scenes were definitely nice and saved the story an additional star, LOL.

I liked this one. But I thought the introduction of the “Daddy Kink” was a bit abrupt and awkward. It didn’t feel super natural. But there were some pretty hot moments.

Definitely insta-love, but it was a novella so that’s a bit expected I suppose.

Overall I liked it. I quite enjoy the “snowed-in” trope!

It’s a novella and it’s Daddy Kink...
But it’s Keira Andrews and it’s so cute…hehehe...a sexy way to persuade someone to wear an elf costume 😉

4.5 Christmas stars rounded down because still no 1/2 stars here on GR and maybe not quite 5 stars but still really, really good.

If you'd asked me last week...

I would have said 'Daddy kink' was not my thing, but I have always maintained that a well written story is always my thing and this one was definitely well written.

When Nick Spini gets convinced by his friend John to play Santa for a weekend the last thing he anticipates is how attracted to Santa's helper he'll be. It's been years since an accident took the life of his partner and during that time it's been just him, his beagle and his tree farm. No emotional attachments and only the occasional hook-up was all he wanted.

When Hunter Adams accepted the job of Santa's helper at the local mall to try and earn a bit of money before the holidays the last thing he expected was that he'd end up wanting to sit on Santa's lap. But one look at the hotest Santa he's laid eyes on in the history of ever and that's exactly what Hunter wants.

So far this year I've read a few holiday stories and I have to say this one is definitely at the top of my list of stories I'm like to re-read or better yet...hear on audio. Nick and Hunter were totally combustible together and their interaction was fun. There was humor and tenderness with an attempt at the occasional scrooge moment by Santa but when Santa's helper is a cute perky, sexy little twenty-something even the grumpiest of Santa's can be thawed.

It's not until Nick hires Hunter to help him out at his tree farm that things really begin to heat up in more ways than one between the two. Despite Hunter's determination to not be late for work when a snowstorm arrives early and with a lot more ferocity than anticipated not only does it make Hunter late for work but it sees his car sliding off the road into a snow bank leaving him no other choice but to try and walk to Nick's tree farm even though the man told him not to bother coming to work just before he hung up on Hunter. It's a rather questionable start for their relationship...but stranger things have happened...right?

This one was more than delightful and not only did I enjoy the MCs and trust me...I so enjoyed the MC's. But there was also Hunter's mom, who seriously folks this lady was awesome and very realistic. She was a single mom and she loved her kids and she was honest with them. She wanted her son to be happy but she didn't wear blinders and as I think any parent would she had concerns for her son being involved with someone so much older than him...it wasn't a yes or no situation in her mind it was more like 'you make my baby happy, but if you hurt him. I will end you.' I was totally on board with this and as a mother myself, I understood where she was coming from. Plus there was Ella the beagle who really did seem to be one adorable dog and Nick's delightfully meddlesome friend John who just wanted to make sure his friend moved on from tragedies of the past and there were the sexy times between Nick and Hunter...and I do mean sexy times...seriously next time I walk past Santa's village at the local mall I'm pretty sure I'm going to spontaneously combust or blush furiously at the very least.

Ok one last moment of delight for me and if you know me and you've read this book than you know what's coming...this book is set in...come on you know where I'm going with this...it's in ONTARIO!!!! That's right cold and snow are a must at Christmas time!!! To be precise it's a small town just north of Toronto and I will clarify that to the best of my knowledge and my subsequent google search it's a fictitious town but I'm pretty sure if one was to take a drive north of Toronto they could find at least a couple of small towns that fit the description of 'Pinevale' so I'm good with this it's Ontario.

It's Christmas, there's snow, a hot Santa and a sexy and adorable elf plus a cute as can be beagle...really, what's not to love?

Santa Daddy is a short, sweet, and sexy holiday tale. It was my first book by Keira Andrews and I really liked her writing style. Also, age gap+daddy= my kind of read! If you’re looking for a quick and steamy story that has emotion to it as well, pick this one up! I enjoyed reading and it only took a little over an hour for me to get through.

Who's been a naughty elf???

....And do you know what SANTA does to his naughty elf? That's right, he punishes his very naughty elf with his big, wide hand. Smack! Now the naughty elf has four red cheeks instead of two. Oh my, how his bells jingle!

Yes, this was fun with light D/s and Daddy kink.

There is some hurt, some comfort. There's a grumpy Santa and a virginal elf half his age. There's a big blizzard and a snow-in. And then there are a bunch of "Yes, Daddy....I've been a bad boy, Daddy...and..May I, Daddy?"

There's also a dog named Ella, a Christmas tree farm, and an HEA.

Be ready to:
-Not like sexy Santa Nick at first. Not at all.
-See Hunter Elf lose his V-card and get his kink on.
-Experience what really happens in Santa's Village after the mall closes..."Sit on Santa's lap," will have a whole new meaning for you!

The Christmas season has officially begun, so if you're in the mood for light, fluffy, sexy sweetness, you've found the right place. Santa Daddy fits that to a T and throws in just a touch of very very light kink.

Hunter Adams is a 23 year old virgin with pretty much zero job prospects. He feels disillusioned about life and what he feels he "should" do with it. The thought of being a cubical jockey is rather soul killing to him, but what else can he do with an English Lit degree? Oh, Hunter, I feel ya. And dating has never happened. Hunter is shy and awkward around people and directionless with his life. He feels so much pressure - from himself, mostly - to get a "real" job and be a "real" adult.

Nick Spini is 46 and runs a Christmas tree farm where he doesn't have to deal with people, and he likes it that way. He lost his long term partner, several years ago in a tragic accident, and Nick has never really moved on. Sex? Sure, but relationships? No way. Getting railroaded by his best friend to pay Santa, as a last minute replacement, does not exactly make Nick happy, but he'll get through it somehow! At least there is a hot Elf to look at, even if that Elf is an entitled Millennial.

The attraction between Hunter and Nick is definitely instant and their relationship forms fast. A bit too fast for me, but considering this is a 130 page novella, I thought Keira Andrews did pretty well. The sexy times were definitely sexy and Nick is a take charge kind of guy, which is exactly what Hunter wants and needs. And the ending, while a touch sappy, is just what the season ordered.

Forced proximity + Daddy Kink + Age Gap + Keira Andrews = Holiday Gold.

Santa Daddy was a great novella to get lost into- I read it one sitting. It was cute and feel good.

Some highlights:

-Great characters. Nick is older and gruff. Hunter is younger and a tad insecure, but he's not afraid of going after Nick.

-Hurt/comfort/healing lite. The story isn't ansgty, but Nick has lost someone in the past.

-There's a dog side character. Dogs always earn extra points in my eyes.

-As I mentioned earlier - forced proximity. Nothing turns up the heat like a snowstorm.

-Chemistry is palpable.

-And the end was what I love on my holiday reads.

Santa Daddy is 130 pages of fluffy, naughty, holiday cheer. ♥

Hmm, sorry to say that I found this underwhelming. I am a big fan of daddy kink and Christmas stories and this was a Keira Andrews book so it should have been a slam dunk. The daddy kink was introduced in an abrupt and awkward way and the dialogue was like it came from cheesy porn. I could see myself loving this if it was a fully developed novel with room for a slow burn and character development. As it stands, I didn’t really connect with the characters and didn’t buy into the romance.

People have rated this highly so it might be a case of it’s not you, it’s me. *shrugs*

Hm, this was enjoyable and nice, but it wasn't much more than that from me. I liked it well enough, but it was kinda "meh" at the same time, a little underwhelming.

Nick and Hunter could have had better chemistry - although they did have a few hot scenes, and one sex scene in particular I really enjoyed - and the daddy kink was barely used.

Idk, I guess for some a light, barely there Daddy!kink - if there is any at all - is what they prefer, but not for me. If you include the Daddy!kink, I say go for it, say the dirty stuff, expand on the dynamic in the bedroom, have it be more than a few "have you been a good boy?" "Yes Daddy"'s and "Are you a slut for Daddy's dick?" and things like that. Like give me more? Otherwise it feels like...what's the point of the Daddy!kink anyway? It doesn't do anything for me when it's so watered down and barely there most of the time. Exceptions can be made, but like with this, it didn't work for me.

I liked how Hunter didn't let Nick ruin it in the end, though, and fought for it and didn't just walk away. That was a nice change of pace from a lot of stories, so definite points for that.

This is the second KA holiday work I've read that has been okay, but not amazing as her regular novels usually are for me. Idk if it's me or if KA just somehow misses the mark of a great holiday story a lot of time. Idk, but while this had enjoyable parts and some hot scenes, most of it was "meh" for me.

There were points in my reading of this when it even got a little boring - before thankfully it would pick up again - and that's never a good sign.

So, I felt that this was okay, an enjoyable read at times, but could have been much better, with better romance and better steam.

Whew. I'll be honest, this one started out a lot like another Christmas story I have already read this year and I was not pleased with this.

Thankfully the similarities ended there and this turned into a truly sweet and hot and joyful Christmas story.

Not my kink at all but it was light enough and it worked for these two I guess.

Christmas miracles indeed.

Sweet.

Keira Andrews always knows how to spin a tale, and Santa Daddy hooked me from the very first scene. These characters are so engaging, and the story is sexy and sweet. I can’t think of a nicer way to start off the holiday season.

A gruff, buff mall Santa? What elf could refuse? Well sweet and dorky Hunter sure can’t. As soon as he claps eyes on Nick, he can’t get visions of sitting on Santa’s lap out of his head! It turns out all of Nick’s bah-humbugery is due to some sad events in his past, and a little bit of Christmas cheer goes a long way to turning Nick’s outlook around.

The descriptions of their first meeting, and the following “Visit Santa at the Mall” scene had me in stitches. Honestly, the humor flows all the way through this story and Ms. Andrews manages to sneak in a fair number of heartwarming moments as well. This one’s light on the angst and heavy on the fun, and just as well written as any of her stories.

Kiera Andrews’ spin on daddy kink is truly adorable. There is just the right amount of affectionate passion; there’s nothing dark or naughty about it. So if you’re looking to dip a toe in (without diving in head first) Santa Daddy is a great place to start.

I love daddy kink and this was a daddy kink extravaganza. Keira Andrews ran with it and it's all kinds of hot, naughty 'n' nice. Smokin'.

Hot lumberjack mall Santa meets virginal and cute helper elf. Sounds so familiar, but this is sexier than any similar story I recall reading before. Excellent characters, although Nick hits a rocky start but he certainly makes up for it. Hunter is very endearing without being too-too.

Forty-six year old Nick and twenty-three year old Hunter = steam in the festive snow of Canada.

Keira Andrews' festive romance brings a whole lot of heat with the sugar and spice as wonderfully innocent Hunter finds just the right tonic for his scattered thoughts.

Grumpy Santa Nick's been on his own for quite a while and isn't looking for anything when Hunter bursts into his life and turns it upside down.

As with any Keira story, there's seriously hot sex, loads of emotions, a little bit of tension that needs sorting with a swift kick up the backside and a delightful epilogue to make your heart happy.

Sweet age-gap holiday story with a side of light kink and some steamy Santa on his Elf sex.

Both men are lost in their own ways at the start, but Nick is the one who is reluctant to engage with anyone, no less the young "elf" who is late to the job. Hunter is just recently out of school and not quite sure what to do as job prospects haven't panned out and nothing he has tried seems to be a fit. A part-time job will at least help him relieve some financial burden so when Nick offers some extra work at his tree farm for the season Hunter agrees. Nick may be a bit of a dick but at least he's something to look at.

Hunter works wonders chipping through Nick's icy exterior as Nick makes all of Hunter's fantasies come to life - even those he didn't know he had! Funny, sexy and tender, this was a sweet holiday romance that I had a lot of fun reading.

This was a delightful Christmas story. I usually hate Daddy kink, but this was handled in a way that didn’t bother me.

I loved the kink in this one but wasn't all that keen on the annoying dismissal of "Millenials" as lazy & entitled. Thankfully that resolved itself with Nick getting to know Hunter. Also, I'm gonna chalk it up a little to his age (although, I'm not judgy like that & I'm older) as there seems to always be generational dismissal of the ones coming up behind you...and to his having been emotionally isolated and unwilling to socialize much.

Hella fast insta-love...but sometimes when you know, you know. You know?
