Love Contract

3 dates for one million dollars. Those were the conditions he stipulated on the contract.

Why she should refuse:
Reason #1: She barely knew the guy.
Reason #2: She had absolutely no idea why the hell he wanted a date with Her of all people. It was not like there was anything special about her.
Reason #3: He was her Best Friend's Brother for god’s sake. Totally off limits!
Reason #4: He was a definite danger for her heart especially when he looked at her with those sizzling grey eyes.

This is a steamy romance novella. No cheating. No cliff-hanger. And the kind of ending you will just love. Team HEA all the way!!

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was fun and the characters likable. I thought Chet and Nina had great chemistry an I found their interactions to be sweet, steamy and cute. A very good romance. This is my independent, impartial review.

Nina Anderson wasn’t expected to hear about a proposition from her impulsive, reckless, charming best friend, Shane Rempel, as soon as she walked in the door. They had been best friends since the age of 4, and she knew his crazy schemes very well. So before she let him tell her about this one, he had to make her a drink. In return, he insisted she let him tell her the whole thing before she yelled at him. Then he told her his deadbeat dad, who had left home as soon as his wife got pregnant with Shane, had died. Although he never paid child support, he left one million dollars to Shane’s older brother, Chet. The two had never been close, Chet being 8 years older. Chet left home at 16. Anyway, when he contacted and met with Shane, he offered 1/3 of the money for his mom, and 1/3 for Shane – with certain conditions. Shane had to convince Nina to go on 3 dates with Chet before he signed over the money. Shane had no idea why.

Chet had seen Nina’s pictures from Shane’s graduation pics on social media. He remembered her friendship with Shane as kids. He remembered her beautiful green eyes and he could not get her off his mind. She inspired many aspects of the art he created and was his muse. He was hoping she would let him paint her. Their first date was a simple dinner. Nina was a half hour late due to a flat tire. As she entered the restaurant, the artist in Chet cataloged every part of her, imagining how he would paint her. He finally asked her if she would allow him to paint her in a public park, and she agreed.

Shane wanted an account of how the first date went. She told him Chet would probably ask him to go for a drink so they could reconnect. Shane didn’t like that Nina thought Chet was attractive. And he told her that if she and Chet got together, he would no longer be her friend. She assured him she would never risk losing their friendship – but she was a little disturbed by the tiny doubt that sort of lingered in her stomach.

When Shane joined Chet at a local dive for a drink, Shane warned him to never hurt Nina. He told Chet that Nina had said he was attractive, and Chet couldn’t get that off his mind. Because he knew, if he had any chance at all with her, he would take it. He knew that little by little, he was already starting to love her. Would this ruin any chance for reconnecting with his mom and brother? Shane would never let him hurt Nina, no matter what. Would Nina be forced to choose her friendship over something more with Chet?

This book was so much more than I had expected. I loved the characters and the way they cared for each other while still being cautious, not only for themselves but for each other. The story line was simple but very compelling. It drew the reader in and made it worthwhile to keep reading to the end. Grab your copy and follow the story. I think you’ll be surprised where it takes you!

(Review with spoilers)

Nice romance. I loved it.

Nina's always had Shane in her life. He's her best friend, he's a brother to her. And, one day, he surprises her by telling her that her older brother, Chet, who left them when he was just a kid, has returned to town. He wants to share the inheritance left to them by their father, who abandoned them before Shane was born, with his mother and with him. But with one condition. He wants to go out with Nina. Three dates, nothing more. She doesn't want to accept, but ends up doing it when Shane promises to help her pay for her studies. They're just dates. She doesn't have to like him. She didn't expect to be attracted to him, to like him, or to spell her with a smile.

When Shane turned 18, Chet saw a picture of his graduation day. He was with Nina. Chet knew the little girl who was always with him, but he doesn't know the girl who accompanies him. She has grown up, and has caught his attention. Obsession, it's what he thinks. Or something else? Nina is his muse, and he wants to paint her. He thought that would help him get her out of his head. But they've met, and he can't forget her.

I loved Chet. He has been on the run all his life, since he left home at 16, because he didn't want to be like his father, who abandoned his family. He has realized that he is like him, that he has avoided approaching people so as not to hurt anyone, or so as not to be hurt. But now that he has returned home, and has reunited with his brother Shane and his best friend, Nina, he has discovered that he no longer wants to leave. She has made him see the damage he has done to the family, and he wants to be with them again. Not only that. He has found her. He wants to put down roots there, with Nina, if she wants to be with him.

I loved Nina. She promised Shane she wouldn't have sex with his brother, and she has never broken her promises. But, on that occasion, she did. She feels attached to him in a way she's never been, and she wants to try. She does not want to deceive her best friend. She doesn't want to choose between them, between her best friend/brother and the one who could be the love of her life. She doesn't want to choose, and that's why she doesn't. Or both or neither. She doesn't want to destroy his family, and she already has. That's why it's better to walk away.

I loved them together, and Charlotte and Dolly.

I loved that Shane is going to talk to Chet, that he apologizes for how he behaved. He wanted to protect Nina, and he knows he was wrong. But she's his friend, she's more than that, she's a sister to him. He can't stand to be hurt. I loved that he has matured, that he apologizes, that he asks for forgiveness. He never apologizes, and he's apologized to both of them.

I recommend it.

This is a cute, short story without any heavy mental lifting. The story would have probably done better with some fleshing out and the a little more rounding of the characters, it still was a cute read.

Nina and Shane have been best friends since childhood. Chet is Shane’s older brother that took off when Shane was just 8 years old. He’s back now after getting an unexpected windfall from their dad that walked out on them when Shane was still a baby. Unlike what the blurb says Shane is only going to get a 3 way split of the million dollars and Nina is only going to get a small portion of that. The blurb makes you thing this is along the lines of “Indecent Proposal” it really isn’t.

Did I mention this book is very sweet? While not overtly sickeningly sweet it really is still sweet. The conflict is minor and it is easily resolved. Thankfully the author does not go full angst mode and you do care a bit for the characters as they all seem to have good hearts. The author also doubles down on the sweetness by throwing in some animals to tug further at your heartstrings.

We totally get that this trio is hot, the author practically beats you over the head with the hotness of the characters. Plus the long-standing friendship of Nina and Shane is thrown at us repeatedly. Less reiterating these points and more meat to the story would have added more value.

It was nice that Nina and Chet did not immediately jump into the sack and they had albeit brief kind of sexual build up it wasn’t a lets have sex after the name exchange thing. The epilogue was nice so we could at least get some insight to the few years that lapsed and hoped that Chet came clean with his mother and brother on a secret that he found out. That part was never addressed again…

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Chet and Nina. Chet left home when he was 16 and spent the next 16 years travelling around the world as an artist. When Chet contacted his brother Shane and told him their father died and left them money, Chet came home to see him. Shane never met his father and barely remembers Chet, because he was so young when Chet left. Chet tells Shane he will give him money if he can get three dates with Shane's best friend Nina. Shane and Nina have been best friends since they were four years old and are closer than siblings. Shane tells Nina he will give her money to pay her student loans and pay off her final years of college if she agrees to the dates. Nina agrees, with a contract saying there will be no physical contact. Chet wants to paint Nina and he considers her to be his muse ever since he saw a graduation photo of her on Shane's profile. Nina is not prepared for the reaction she has to Chet and she promises Shane she wouldn't sleep with him. The attraction between Chet and Nina is explosive and they have an amazing connection neither one can deny. Nina knows if she acts on her attraction she risks losing her heart to Chet and is scared he will leave again, breaking her heart. Chet is scared of his feelings for Nina and thinks she could be the reason he finally stays in one place. To add to their fears is how Shane will react to them wanting to be together. I really loved this book. I loved Chet and think he really wanted to stay and be loved. I think it was love at fist sight for Chet and Nina and i think they were meant to be together. Another great one from Linsdey.

You won't want to put it down...

Love Contract is another fantastic read from Lindsey Hart that will leave you dying for more. The story of Nina and Chet is not your typical romantic encounter. Nina's best friend since childhood, Shane, discovers that his estranged father died and left his older brother Chet a substantial amount of money, but in typical douchebag fashion he didn't leave any for Shane or their mother. Chet left town to follow his artistic dreams when he was 16 and Shane was still like 8 years old and they haven't been in contact since, but Chet keeps tabs on Shane through social media which is how he stumbles upon Nina. He sees a photo of her and decides he needs to paint her -- his muse-- so he agrees to hand over 1/3rd of the inheritance to Shane if Nina will meet him for 3 dates...hence a contract. Shane ropes Nina into meeting Chet by promising to help her pay off her school debts and let her live with him rent-free while she finishes school. Nina hardly remembers Chet, but how much harm could 3 dates do right? There's no way she could fall for someone she barely remembers, is there? Even more dangerous is Shane's stipulation that she must not sleep with his brother, but she could never betray their friendship that way, could she? You'll just have to dive in to find out and trust me you'll want to find out. And soon you may even be adding Chet's name to your book boyfriend list.

Love Contract by Lindsey Hart. I gave this book book 5 stars
I am on a good streak here with the last few books I've reviewed, they have been awesome, and this was is another fantastic story. From the opening pages to the last , it was just a perfect little book.
Nina is a college student who wants to become a teacher.....She has 2 more years left, and is solely focused on the studies. She has no times for boyfriend distraction. Shane is her very best friend since they were tiny (just platonic relationship) with these two. All of a sudden his older brother Chet pops back into town after many years of galavanting the world, without any communication with his little brother. Things are a little tense in the family.
All of a sudden he comes up with this crazy idea of paying an enormous amount of money for 3 date with Nina!! Ok, this will cause even more friction between everyone. Will Nina go on the dates with Chet? What has he been doing abroad? Why her, she was not happy with none of this or Shane!
This romance had a little of everything in it: experienced hardships, love, anger, cuteness goodness heartwarming , insecurity in oneself, HOT guys, and a determined feisty beautiful woman. There was some sex but it was very mild, not too steamy ....just more of your hot chemistry talk in between the lovers.
The Story was well written had begging, middle and a good HEA ending.
Now I am ready to read about Shane himself.

This was a really quick romance book with a great story line. Shane and Nina have been best friends for a really long time. Shane has a brother Chet who left home and who he really does not talk to. Their father left them and their mother struggled trying to care for them. Now Chet is back. Their dad pasted away and left all his money to Chet. Chet tells Shane he is willing to share the money with him and their mother if Shane can get Nina to agree to go on 3 dates with him. You see Chet has been following his brother on social media and has got a thing for his friend Nina. Shane and Nina do some bargaining and Nina agrees to those 3 dates. What happens on those dates when there are some feelings already in the mix? What happens when they spend time together? The answer to those questions can be answered if you pick up this book. Honestly you will not be disappointed. This book is a really really great read.

Nina and Shane have been best friends for as long as they can remember. When Shane hears from his brother Chet he can’t believe it. Even thought they have an age gape, he has longed for his brother since he left at the age of 16. Now he wants to make a bargain with Shane that he would get a third from the money that there father had left to Chet. In the bargain its three dates with Nina and Shane gets his third. Not understanding why since Chet really didn’t know Nina he discusses it with Nina a they come to a conclusion of what she will get once the deal is done. Boundaries are going to be pushed and Nina can take the pressure that both brothers are putting on her. Chet has to come to terms with an absence that he had while traveling all over the world, now he feels the need to settle down and bring family back together. This is truly a great book and the journey with all three characters coming together in the end.

Lindsey Hart is a new author to me, so I dived into this book without any expectations. Was I glad I did, because, now, I have another author to watch out for!

Love Contract is the story of Chet, who, in an effort to finally meet the girl of his dreams, offered his brother Shane money in exchange for three dates with his best friend, Nina. Shane agrees, but with a condition--no falling for each other. Tension mounts between the three of them, with Nina being forced to choose.

It's a different take on a best friends to lovers story, one that was, for me, refreshing as it did not go the route of the usual narrative, and I love how Lindsey Hart was able to put a new twist to the trope.

Added bonus was the fact that although there were some grammar hiccups-, which I am sure would be fixed, there were no irritating mistakes sentence or paragraph wise, as I would have DFN'd after a few pages if that were so. So yes, it was an over-all, a great read for me!

Best Friend's Brother

This was my first book by Lindsey Hart and I really enjoyed it. I love brother's/sister's best friend romances. This one had a little twist where the best friends were male and female.

Shane and Nina have been best friends since they were little. Shane's older brother, Chet, left town when he was sixteen. Now he's back after inheriting a large amount of money from their estranged father. In exchange for Shane's share of the money, Chet wants three dates with Nina. She has no idea what Chet sees in her, but she agrees to the dates.

Instant attraction and lots of chemistry between Chet and Nina. A pretty fast paced and short story that feels like a full length novel. Shane is an awesome best friend and Nina is witty and fun and Chet is sweet and sexy. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Hart's books.

I thought this story had a good flow to it. Although the connection between Chet and Nina happens very fast, it was acknowledged as being fast so it does not come across as being too insta-love. I thought the story certainly had some sweet moments (the dogs especially). I think the story does a good job of actually showing why the characters act a certain way (especially Chet), and manages to avoid depending on a "big misunderstanding" to give drama (not that there aren't issues, but they worked within the context).

Shane and Nina have been best friends since they were little kids. She’s in school to become a teacher and he works with landscaping. After 16 years, Shane’s brother Chet is in town. Apparently the father that abandoned them has died and left Chet a substantial inheritance. He is back to share the money with his mother and brother. But he has put some strings on the money for Shane. He wants three dates with Nina. He saw her high school graduation picture on FB and has been enamoured with her. Now he wants to meet and get to know his muse. Shane doesn’t trust his missing brother, but Nina can use the money for tuition and student loan debt so she agrees. The connection they have puts a strain on her friendship with Shane. What to do? Nicely written and has a HEA.

This was a very interesting and entertaining read. Nina's and Shane have been best friends since childhood. Nina would do anything for Shane. Chet is Shane's older brother who left t0wn years ago and hasn't contacted his family in years. After Shane and Chet's dad died, Chet inherits everything. He will share with Shane on one condition: He wants 3 dates with Nina. After seeing pics of her on Shane's social media, Chet cannot get her out of his head. Nina agrees after Shane agrees to help pay her college tuition. Shane has a condition of his own: No sleeping with his brother! Nina is surprised sy how much Chet has changed and she is beginning to have her own feelings for him. How long can Chet and Nina keep their promise to Shane? Will Nina lose her best friend and the man she has fallen fall? Great read!

Nina has been Chet's muse since he saw a graduation pic of her with his brother on social media.
Now he has the opportunity to meet her. He tells his brother that their deceased father has left them money but that Shane will only get his share if he arranges three dates with Nina.
Nina accepts the offer as she is short on money and drowning in student loans. Nina never expected to be attracted to her best friends brother and now finds her self having to choose between the man she has known her whole life and who has been with her through all the good and hard times or the man that she could give her heart to and risk have it broken when he decides to leave town.

Nina and Shane have been friends for most of their lives and she is well used to his crazy schemes but when she meets him and he tells her the latest she is confused. Shane's father left him and his older brother Chet with their mother but now he has left a million dollars to Chet which he is willing to split evenly with his brother and mother if Shane can get Nina to go on three dates with him. The first date goes well even though Nina is late due to a flat tyre Chet realises he could easily fall in love with her but his brother is warning him and her off . Will he risk a relationship with his family to get the woman he is starting to need

This is a tough decision for Nina. Choose her longtime best friend, Shane or choose his brother, Chet. Chet inherited some money from their dad which the rest of the family received nothing. Chet is willing to give Shane 1/3 of the money if Chet gets 3 dates with Shane's best friend of 20 years, Nina. Nina agrees to the 3 dates as long as they are in public & no sex is involved. She agrees to this contract so Shane would get his share of his inheritance but what she doesn't count on is having this instant love connection. This is a really good story to read - a page turner where you're wondering if their longtime friendship can be patched up & if Chet & Nina become a HEA or not.

I really loved this well written story. Chet left home 16 years ago, 6 years ago he saw a picture of his younger brother's best friend Nina. His father died and he inherited a million dollars that he was willing to split equally with his mother and brother. But in order for Shane to get his 1/3 he had to set Chet up with 3 dates with Nina. Chet just really wanted to meet Nina, she touched a part of him. Nina reacted strongly when she met Chet, they meshed. There is a lot of emotion in this book, fear of abandonment, healing from abandonment, a family coming together. The only thing missing is something about Chet and Shane's mother.

Love and Friendship

I will start by telling why I read the book.... because of the sinopse 😅
It was the story that totally drew me in 😍
Let me say that the friendship between Nina and Shane is just AMAZING 😍 Although being friends for so long, they never had any romantic interest. But when their relationship its put to the test, it holds nicely despite a few bumps at the start.
With that, what can I say about Chet...🤔
Loved him from the start 😍😍 And the first date he and Nina had was "entertaining", to say the least 😌 Second date melted my heart ❤ And the third.... You'll have to read it to find out 😉😏
I'll stop now before I spoil too much.
Totally recomend this book 😍

PS. Sorry for my English!

This a quick read about a broken family and how a surprise inheritance can bring them together are tear them farther apart. Chet is the long-lost older brother that left home at 16 and has been traveling the world as an artist for years. Shane is the younger brother feeling left behind with his best friend from childhood Nina. Chet has been following Shane and his friend on social media and feels a strong connection to Nina, he agrees to split the inheritance with Shane in exchange for 3 dates with Nina. I found a lot missing in this book, the storyline had promise, but I never really connected with the characters.

Chet is the dark horse of the family. Shane is the golden boy. Nina is the girl who finds herself being pulled between the two. Nina and Shane are best friends. Chet and Shane are estranged brothers. When Chet decides he wants to spend time with Nina Shane is not amused. Nina finds Chet attractive and sexy. They are unable to resist the pull they have towards each other and end up in bed. The story is filled with lots of funny moments shared between the two best friends and the brothers. It is fast paced and easy to read. The characters are witty and charming (even the dogs are fun).

Chet and Nina's story is fantastic very emotional and spine-tingling. I could really feel the intense feelings they had for each other. Shane, Chet's younger brother and Nina have been BFF. Shane was so used to having Nina around and having all her attention focused on him so he was jealous of Chet and Nina's relationship. He did not have romantic feelings for her but he did not want to share her with anyone else. Shane had to work through his problems and decide what was the right thing to do. I urge you to read Lindsey Hart's Love Contract.

This was a very good book about high school friends and a older brother. Nina is best friend with Shane whose older brother returns home after being away for a long time. Shane and Chet grew up in a estranged household which made Chet leave when he was sixteen. Their father dies and leaves Chet money but Chet since he saw Nina in social media was interested in her so he makes a deal with Shane that he'll spit the money if Nina dates him three times. Can Chet get the girl and mend the conflict between his brother? Does Nina choose her best friend or Chet? I enjoyed this story that had a lot of angst and romance. I volunteer to read and review this ARC.

I’m having trouble writing this review without giving away too many spoilers so I will just give you the gist to this story. Nina and Shane have been best friends since they were 4 years old, Shane’s older brother Chet has been left with an inheritance from their father so he propositions Shane to get Nina for 3 dates and if she agrees then Shane and his mother will get part of the inheritance. Shane tells Nina what Chet has proposed she said yes and that she would do anything for their friendship, but why 3 dates?. There you go. This is such a fantastic shortish story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Shane and Nina have been friends since they were 4 years old. Shanes older brother Chet contacts him after their father dies and others to split the million dollars that their father left for them, as long as he gets Chet three dates with Nina. Shane is uneasy about this but proceeds to pitch the crazy idea to Nina. The journey these three take with each other is simple and sweet. They each are cautious but love conquers each of their fears. While the story is really incomplicated it is a sweet easy read that will leave you feeling good in the end. Worthy read.

Three dates to help her best friend from childhood, for him get a third of a million dollars. Sounds interesting, doesn't it? Chet and Shane are rather estranged, not really knowing one another since Chet, eight years Shane's senior, left home at sisteen. Chet's been keeping an eye on Shane through his social media accounts, and has seen pictures of Nina, he's sort of obsessed with her and suggested the three dates in exchange for giving Shane and their mother each a third of the million dollars that was left to Shane by their father. I enjoyed reading this book

Shane and Nina have been best friends, since they were in grade school. Shane's brother Chet left home and has roamed around since he was sixteen. Their father left them and their mom struggled to support them. Then Chet has come home with a deal. What will happen between the brothers? Can everything be forgiven? What will Nina do? Why does she have feelings for Chet? What will Shane do if he finds out? She don't want to lose that friendship.

I decided that I don't like a brother/sister's best friend romance because I don't understand why he/she opposes against them. If they love each other, just support them and after everything, if they brake up, just support them. However I like what Nina did in the book when her best friend and her lover argued with each other. She announced that she want them both in her life but if she has to choose, she decides that she will live without them. Good job. That why I give this book 4 stars, though.

Chet never felt at home after his father left. He looked just like him and was afraid that he was just like him also. He hasn't seen his mom or brother for about 15 years. Nina's been best friends with Shane her whole life. When Shane's brother shows up he tells her he has deal for her. His dad died and left a million dollars to Chet and he would get 1/3 of it if she would go on 3 dates with Chet. I really enjoyed this book. There is some humor in it along with great chemistry. I recommend this book.
